This is a full 10-grade hotel. If you like hotels with a charm - that`s the one in Strasbourg. The restored old inn building is just beautiful with a number of old beams kept around. The staff is remercably kind and helpful. With a booking.com rate the price - quality ratio is just amazing! The location is also great - in the vicinity of all the touristic/shopping attractions in the city! Be aware of the fact that by car the entrance of the hotel`s street seems closed - there is a low intercom box on the left-hand side and you have to push the button - the reception puts the hydraulic pillar down for you ;-)
the service, the room
The hotel is in such a picturesque place, and traditional. A truly wonderful place to stay. Only room service available for evening meals. Would liked to have sat and ate downstairs socially, in such a beautiful hotel.
Lovely room, complimentary bottle of wine, excellent breakfast Privacy was lacking due to windows of other rooms facing ours. Noise from people drinking in the courtyard.
Everybody was very nice and attentive. Great location, nice and clean room. I recommend this hotel.
Absolutely remarkable building, refined luxury, one of the best places I've ever stayed at, in a city distinctly lacking any other competitor. OK, the breakfast fruit juice was disappointing
Location is perfect Staffs are super friendly and helpful Comfy bed and nice room
The location was excellent (2 minutes walking and you are in the centre of town) as was the friendliness and quality of the staff. The hotel is an excellent blend of modern interior design in a historical building. The rooms were roomy and comfortable (in particular the beds). Quiet location.
The hotel was lovingly restored, it is in a beautiful old building but offers nonetheless all the latest standard. The staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful. Somehow, the athmosphere in the room was a bit sterile. The light in the bathroom was insufficient by far. The room was too small / simple given the price per night. Also, the breakfast at EUR 22,00 per person was way too basic. Half an hour before the end of breakfast, there were no more refills on eggs etc. There was too little personnel to clear tables in the slightly too small breakfast room, so plates and other dishes would be piling on the tables.
We booked early and found a very good price for our room. The fairytale-like hotel is a recently restored 16th century Alsacian construction, complete with exposed wooden beams, contrasting very nicely with all of the modern amenities (very clean new bathrooms!) The staff was very welcoming, and most spoke French, English, and German. They recommended and reserved a great restaurant, and also reserved us a taxi with no problems. Wifi is pay-only, but there is a free to use computer, with printer, near the lobby. The bathtub/shower really needs some sort of curtain or glass partition to avoid spraying water everywhere, but one can make do.
They had renovated a very old building very carefully while including excellent modern facilities. It was hidden away within walking distance of the old town, it was quiet, a real treat, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. For the price the breakfast was rather limited, although they did have fresh juices and excellent coffee
Great location. Double windows that helped to reduce the street noise. Really nice staff that helped for reserving tables from restaurants. There might be some improvements in breakfeast...
Good location for tourists and business travelers; close to the Cathedral, restaurants and public transportation. The breakfast (13 euros) was too expensive,
Small but interestingly decorated bedroom. Fun lobby. Lovely front desk and restaurant staff. Shower flooded the bathroom floor and, if I had not thrown all the towels down, it would have flooded the bedroom as well. They were surely aware of this as the shower head was positioned facing the wall. Once it was turned to focus the water downward, the flooding began. Room 308.
Perfect location and all hotel features were good or better. With tram a very short walk away, you could go anywhere with ease. Rooms have double windows for sound control.
Excellent location, adjacent to the cathedral and convenient for city centre facilities. Staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms decorated and furnished in 'traditional' style are relatively spacious and very clean. Bathroom spotless and well serviced and maintained.
AMAZING LOCATION Almost exactly in front of the cathedral. The room was nicely decorated, and very clean. I think it is a True three star as opposed to a three star that is really a two as you often find in Europe. Very difficult to find if you're driving! Much of the area surrounding the hotel is pedestrian only, and your GPS will get very "confused" because it can not guide you anywhere near the hotel itself. If you drive, look for a paid underground parkin lot.. (Parking Gutenberg at Gutenberg plaz is the closest to the hotel)
Extremely helpful desk (perfect English), nice restaurant/cafe, extremely convenient location to the sights, nice rooms, even A/C. Just be aware that you'll have some walking to do from the train station, but you can cut 3/4 of the walk by taking the tram, or you can cab it to within a block.
Good Service and Location No Coffee Making Facilities
situation close to the center poor breakfast
Good location with excellent service from the staff day and night. Defintely stay there again.
I really like the bedroom, spacious and cosy at the same time and well equiped. The hotel is very central, and this was really the best for me. i'd appreciate more english breakfast than continental breakfast.
Loacation in the city Nothing
everything, staff was nice, helpful, room very good for the price and location, breakfast was great
Location location location . Awesome location in historic district. Just a couple minutes walk to Cathedral. Clean hotel lobby and room very clean Bathroom very modern and my 10 yr old daughter loved the rain showerhead Has a new renovation feel Staff very nice and helpful as a tour guide ask for the tour map Room size not an issue no its not huge but it wasn't tiny either Ask for parking lot location . Sundays you can park on streets for free overnight if you can find a space that saves $30 Make sure you walk city at sunset it's amazing. I heard the boatride at that time is breathtaking My daughter thought elevator door shut too slow. Had to put something!
Just perfect! The hotel is located in the very historical centre of the city, two minutes walk from the car park and close to the main tourist attractions. Especially welcoming staff, large modern well-equipped bedroom, spacious bathroom and copious breakfast. Great value for money.
The hotel has a very good location. When I came back to a hotel at 3:00, cleaning of the room had not finished yet.
The room booked was on the ground floor with 4 big windows on the street.. I asked for an another room and had to pay an higher price for a room which was on the 3rd floor, but did not appaer to have a higher standard than the ground floor one
Really a central position, 100mt from the cathedral with an underground parking 50mt away.Nice and convenient Ours was a smoker room, and smelled like that, while we would have preferred a non-smoker
Great location, good value, friendly Air con broken
The bed!!! I could actually sleep, and that is major bonus. The hotel was quiet and somehow dignified Getting connected to internet was a serious problem that was solved only the very last night.
Good value for money in excellent location in centre of Strasbourg. Helpful and friendly staff. Free internet access. Limited choice at breakfast. No facility for toasting bread.
Staff was very friendly-location was perfect.
It took a lot of time to check in and then to check out because the staff was struggling with their computer.
Spacious room and lovely building Breakfast a bit expensive for what was offered
The architecture and the old world charm. The location was perfect.
Excellent location in a delightful building. Good lift to small but comfortable room. Access to the lift (elevator) was through the back of the dining room past an area used by staff for smoking. The smell of smoke was very bad indeed.
I wasd right in the center of everything. That I truely enjoyed. And I was on the top floor and thank god there was air conditioning.
location the fact that one has to go litterally through the kitchen/pantry area to get to the elevator to the rooms and deal servers carrying plates of food or dirty dishes from the restaurant! We understand this is an old buiding but the kitchen smell was not pleasant to say the least. There was no trace of our reservation when we showed up .We were awakened at 7 am by very loud noise coming from staff carrying bottles being recycled in the courtyard dowen below.
The location next to the dôme. Over-coordination betweeen staff, but still, lack in customer orientation. Poor breakfast service!
The location I like the hotel very much
There is a sauna no
excellent location close to centre yet quiet and pleasant The rooms are small
Staff were kind and helpful. Room was clean and bright. The shower was inadequate. The bathroom door didn't close properly. Reception couldn't help with certain queries as they did not have a working computer.
It was close to the main cathedral centre. The staff was friendly. They should include the breakfast with their rate. I found the breakfast was expensive.
Good location - close to the historic district of the town, quiet area, kind service . No.
The room was clean and comfortable and a very good value. The hotel is very convenient - within 10-15 min walk of shopping and multiple bars/restaurants/food markets, etc. Also, it's on the bus line and just a short ride from the train station. I also liked that it was within walking distance of the Council of Europe and ECHR, because that was my purpose in town. The breakfast was also very good - assorted breads and pastries, juice/coffee/tea, fruits and cheese and yogurt, etc. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel aux trois roses is a small, cute hotel close to the city center in strasbourg. A parking lot is just opposite the hotel (9euros for 24 hours). Staff was friendly, the double room was somewhat small but clean and with a nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. We were there for just one night, but the impression was very good and I would advise this hotel to my friends.
Location is perfect -close to the city center, yet in a quiet area. A parking garage is directly opposite the hotel - a great plus when coming to Strasbourg by car. The heating was turned off when we arrived, so it was chilly in the room and bathroom, but we switched the radiator on and it got warmer overnight.
Location. The glass shield for shower can not avoid leakage of water and hence made the floor totally flood! It's very inconvenient to unload our luggages, because there is no space for parking car, even just temporarily, in front of the hotel. So we just parked on the street for unloading with cars running besides us.
friendly staff no air condition really warm in the room
The hotel's location is excellent, as it's directly across from the principal site in town, the cathedral. Rooms facing the cathedral have a wonderful view, but late night revelers on the square can make sleeping a bit difficult at times. I thought that the trade-off was worth it though.
Being right in the centre of town Occasionally a bit noisy when the pubs turned out
It is located just in front of the Cathedral, and center of the old city. The drive and parking direction is not clear, actually cars are not allowed to reach the hotel, have to travel with luggages for at least two or three hundreds meters. You may either parked in a open public parking(which is closer) in right side (facing catherdral) or in underground parking facing cathedral but have to walk longer. Also to reach the lift have to move luggage somewhat one floor up, and depends on your particular room, may move luggages half floor down.
location, interior design, staff size of windows, at least room 66 is poor and the unhappy combination between cheap furniture in the room and the beautifully decoreted bathroom
Location, boutique style Front rooms have great view of Cathedral but very noisy most of the night. Bells are lovely but too loud and too early.
good location to go everywhere for sighseeing View from the room is so good but noisy during the night, should be taken any measure for the noise and there is no lift to the 1st floor, it is hard to carry laggages.
The location was fabulous and the hotel very nice. The room wasn't anything spectacular, but clean and fine. The staff was also efficient and pleasant.
Location was excellent, staff were extremely helpful, in a beautiful city Small room, no tea making facilities
Fantastic location right on the cathedral square with views from front-side rooms. Rooms were functional and sufficient for short stays, larger-sized flat-screen TV a nice plus as well as bath instead of just a shower.
The location is perfect for a weekend in Strasbourg. Our room's view of the cathedral was definitely worth the trip.
The hotel has fairly basic facilities but is right in the centre of the prettiest part of Strasbourg. There are views of the river from the second floor. Restaurants abound and delightful shops are nearby. The beautiful cathedral is yards away. Take care with the restaurant you choose for dinner. The Moulin Rouge does an excellent breakfast. It is a little difficult to park nearby in order to drop luggage off.
Great location in the very center of the Old Town No parking next to the hotel (although advertized), so I had to park far away at the public parking. Nobody was there for a checkout when we arrived around 11PM, so we had to call the door and could not hear anything (a person was apparently speaking English but with a tough accent and through shitty intercom). Then we had to walk for 100m to another hotel to pick up the keys, they we had to walk with our stuff from the car, since there is no way to drive close to the hotel. The room is tidy, but old, needs renovation. Maybe locals are used to living like that, but it's not acceptable for a hotel in a big city. It was a mistake to pick that hotel instead of regular Budget chain, it's not worth it.
location was amazing
The location is excellent, rooms are small, but enough for a budget traveller. Hotel staff is very friendly.
This is a "bed and breakfast" not a hotel.
Clearly the best thing about Citotel Des Arts is its fantastic location: You have only a 2-3 minute walk to the Cathedral, a one minute walk to the River (at best!), the price of 75 euros was definitely priceworthy. However, the location is worth the price of admission alone. We found the service to be excellent and the staff attentive to our needs. Well, let's just say that if you sit in the bathroom, one foot will be in and one out (outside of the bathroom). Its an exaggeration but the toilet is almost one with the wall- a mosquito couldn't fit into that space. We did see mold in the shower but it wasn't over the top. It would not stop from staying there again.
This hotel had a great location on a gorgeous square in a lovley part of the city right near the main shopping street as well as river.
The room was comfortable and extremely clean. The staff was courteous.
Good value hotel: I liked it. Clean and comfortable room. Quite in the night and great location: in the pedestrian area, close to the Cathedral. Travelling by car? Parking possibilities at a distance of just 100 m.
Great location! Much nicer than Cithotel in Rennes (awful!) Nope
Very friendly staff, very helpful. Two nights to 4am in the morning very noisy from drunks who sleep in door ways out side hotel.
the position: just right in the down town, the street behind the cathedral.furthermore, we reserved the htl, several months before. that's why we payed a very good price. I think they are not serious people! I explain: they gave us a single room, which pretended to be a double! at the 4th floor, without lift. the radiator didn't work (it's the end of november! freezing temperatures), but there was a little electric heating! the bed was a "piece" and half and it smelled of smoking! we're really non smokers! Everything didn't surprised us at all, because, a few days earlier the reception of the htl called me and asked if we reconfirmed the room. when I answered our intention to go there, the woman stressed that we hadn't to forget that the amount payed was a "very" special price!. Please, I ask booking.com to control the reliability of htls!
The room is very basic (2 star hotel) but the food is excellent as well as friendly staff.
Friendliness of staff and excellent restaurant or dinner. Noisy location rather poor breakfast
nice location, clean rooms no parking
Great position downtown - Pretty cheap - Good restaurant
The location is superb, near the cathedral and lots of nice restaurants and shopping. Price was reasonable for what it was. Hotel is noisy, the front door squeaks and slams loudlyevery time someone enters or leaves. Noise leakage from other rooms. One of the staff brings a dog to work with them which one night barked and howled in the corridor until midnight. Rooms are badly designed with very little clothes storage space and no towel rail.
the hotel is in best kocation but it is imposible to arrive with car/it is very dificult to climb 4 flors by foot/
Friendly staff. Excellent location. Good breakfast. Rooms very simple, but perfectly comfortable. Reception unstaffed on arrival. Had to make a phone call to get an access code.
The best thing about the hotel is the location - very central and charming area and steps away from the Notre Dame de Strasbourg and all the cafes and bars The room was small and very basic and the linen and blankets could do with being replaced and nice comfy pillows - but we were here for one night so it didn't matter - by the time they laid the mattress on the floor for our 6 year old there was no floor space. We ate very well at the restaurant but it was expensive for what we had !
Location - close to tram station No elevator. Quite strange that no on-site registration is required.
It is located at the center of the city. The rooms are so tidy and neat. Bathroom is useful.
We had a great experience at this hotel – the location and price were perfect. Very helpful staff and a very friendly city.
Proximity to the cbd
Very central and modern facilities. No parking close by.
location - near city centre, but still on very quite street no air conditioning
very clean, modern, well-designed, excellent location, comfortable bed and room, excellent and good value breakfast air conditioning or fan would have been helpful in hot June
- very strategically located - room kinda small, no air condition thus in summer it can get quite warm.
Great location, nice staff, good breakfast, spacious, cosy and clean rooms, good wi-fi connection (free).
Good Location, free internet and good sized room Hard to find and rooms not very well insulated from noise. Don't expect to be able to sleep in. Also, no lift.
friendliness and geographical situation within the city
Location is good. The people is kind and helpful.
The room was small for four people
Nice cosy hotel! 5 min to Cathedral! I did not have breakfast. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, one can chose something new everyday! Very positive impressions!
Basic hotel, but honest. Basic services, nice staff, good location. Don't go here if you look for a business hotel or you are on a romantic trip. Rooms are too small (mine at least) for family.
Location excellent Noisy on wekends
attention of owner and friendliness of staff small bed and room - ok for one night not more
Staffs were very nice! Direct phone line to the room seemed to be not working.
Location is perfect - 5 minutes to Notre Dam. Parking is nearby and costs only 9 euro per 24 hours, good hotel for those who travels by car. Clean room. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was so french!
Very good position for visiting Strasbourg and parking not too difficult. No TV as standard - you have to pay for a more expensive room to have TV. This is an anomaly nowadays.
wonderful location, hospitality, price, and cleaness no
I like the staff best and their kindness and guide to city.
The location was fantastic - between the Cathedral area, the river and the famous Petit France. Lots of patiesseries, shops, restaurants were within a few minutes walking distance. It was very good value for money. It was quiet at night. There was a door code meaning you could come and go as you pleased. The bed was comfortable despite its appearance. The room had not been updated at all since 1970 - the walls and carpet looked quite grubby and the furniture was very basic. Although the room was booked for two people there was only one pillow and one towel. These were brought when we asked for them within a short amount of time. Our room did not have a bathroom (which was expected) however there was not a shower (and the toilet was out of order) on our floor (which we had expected!). There was a shared bathroom upstairs but I never had to queue for the bathroom. Facilities like supply of toilet roll were unreliable. There were some rooms that looked like they had been updated with recent decoration and laminate floors so they may be more comfortable.
Nice historical building into the citycentre. Disaster. Please do not take the room nr. 17 at least. It was dirty, smelly of cigarette smoke. The shower was almost built on almost in the middle of the room in front of a windows with no courtains. I met a cockroach walking with me. Of course it was cheap: I paid 40 euro alone and I could have shared it with my girlfriend, but could you imagine...?
Helpful, nice staff, quiet place. There was a problem with wi-fi, I got the key later but it was not working anyway.
The location is great. Noise. Walls are very thin indeed, in fact there was a hole in the floor between my room and the next, so you are disturbed by noise from corridors and rooms and bathrooms. Reception is not open all day (reception was closed when I arrived at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon). My room was not cleaned once and the towels were not changed at all.
Nice pitoresque hotel good settled (in the centre of Strasbourg) Problem with opening of main door, we had bad pin code.
Very friendly staff and very central location, though still very quiet. Usually it's difficult to get a hotel that is both centrally located and quiet, but Patricia is on a small quiet road but still just a block away from restaurants and sights. The hotel is simple, but still manages to be cosy. Excellent value for money.
Needs to post directions from Metro. Even the owner said he didn't know how to describe how to get there. Work on it. It will be worth it.
Location Went early to check-in and there was no one there to help us
The hotel is very well located, nicely and romantically designed, and the staff is friendly. The only problem we had was that the romance somehow detracts from confort: there is an elevator, but guests have yet to climb a few stepts up and down, and the rooms are small.
The location was perfect and Hotel Suisse is a nice hotel, very good value for money.
It is designed beautifuly. Good location Room too small. No place for suitcases. Thin blanket not acording to weather, we slept with our coats. Shower too small, got all wet. Needs a curtain on bath.
Hotel is very central located, close to main city attractions, easy to shops restaurants and the river, you can even find underground parking only few minutes away. Main receptionist spoke many languages, night staff was very helpful, generally hotel has a very good friendly atmosphere. Only thing is that the bed in our bedroom was a bit short and small. if you are more then 6.2 foot (1.89 m) tall, you might find it uncomfortable.
The location was very good to central downtown activities.
