Staff were incredibly friendly especially Kodi noisy air conditioner
Front desk staff excellent. Elaine and Kodi are extremely friendly and courteous. We come up for every Redskin game and they are always there to greet us with a smile and a wish for good luck at the game !
Good location for our needs. Not too far from DC and Mount Vernon Breakfast was included only on the weekends. Elevator doors open while elevator is still moving.
An older lady at the front desk was very unpleasant to deal with. she was rude and unwelcoming.
The price was the cheapest on last minute notice booking. Breakfast was decent and the staff was very polite. The bed killed my already jacked up back. Elevator was so slow we gave up and humped our luggage. 3rd floor hallway smelled like someone was cooking armpits.
I paid in advance for a queen bed. Arrived late, and was told only room left was a suite, which sounded good until I discovered it was located hard against the mechanical systems of the elevator. There was a loud sound and vibration each time the elevator moved -- which was frequent.
The rate per night was good for a DC hotel. Liked the full kitchen and the place was quiet. The staff just didn't care about customer service. Had to ask multiple times for plates and room items. And asked multiple times for pillows but after two days of asking, they ran out. A hotel actually ran out of pillows.
For the same price as a nearby Motel 6, there was really nice bedding and interior decoration, a very acceptable HOT breakfast, and good quality carpet and friendly staff. The front desk was a tiny bit befuddled about "who paid" at checkout, because my sister and i shared a room with a different last name
After going to my room the floor was soaking wet from the air conditioner leaking water. I was initially in a non-smoking room but due to this situation I was put in a smoking room and had small children with me and you could smell it although they attempted to spray it. The hallway was so hot and when I told the person behind the desk nothing was done.
Friendliness of the staff. The room was very nice for the price. Overall we were very pleased with our overall experience at the Westin and would definitely stay there again or recommend it to other travelers. The breakfast buffet should have included stock in the hotel for the price charged. The price was way too high. We had dinner in the hotel also and the price was quite reasonable and the food very good; which is part of the reason we were so shocked when our breakfast buffets cost nearly as much as our dinner the night before.
location, however many other hotels in the area. Very comfortable bed. Large Bathroom. Small room. But overpriced.
The staff of the hotel is excellent.
I loved the location Renovations starting at 8am (ie- removing tile from the room above us). We did not have working water for over 12 hours!!! Our final bill had a $500 charge for our last night's stay.
Central location to shops and restuarants. No real negatives.
Very close to Georgetown. Also the bed was very comfortable!
Signed up for a 3 person hotel room - was changed an extra $20 for a double bed attached to a dolly so that we all had a place to sleep....I guess the room can fit three but not the beds...beware. The concierge asked "will all three of you be sleeping in the king size bed?" I said "No, of course not. I signed up for a 3 person room..." anyway lost $20....
Our room was nicely appointed and well designed. The staff, although limited in numbers, were very nice and accomodating. We were happy to have a quiet room, as requested, with a super comfortable bed with beautiful linens. I wish every hotel experience was this great! I have to mention the perfect location for sightseeing, walking and shopping.
wonderful hotel, nice room with a beautiful bathroom. walking distance to lincoln memorial etc pary at the square below was kinda noisy
Responsiveness of the staff Attempt to park in such a small area
As of Aug 31, the lobby was undergoing renovations. I didn't know that prior to my arrival. Not a big deal, my room was perfect. Just a heads up for future goers. Valet parking was $45/day, but you can come and go as you please. They do have self parking that's a bit cheaper. Pick your poison.
The cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere. Relatively small lobby when compared to other Westin's.
Location is good for D.C.tourism. Interstate is close. Shopping and restaurants are close. Great staff.
Bed was ok. Room clean. Pillows too soft, shampoo &conditioner not enough for two.
The staff was very friendly. My family and I tried to take a swim in the pool , and man we almost died. The chlorine was so strong that our eyes were burning us, and we started to cough. We couldn't even get a chance to have a nice swim. I also hated the fact that they didn't have an breakfast bar.
Awesome location! Dated air conditioning unit was hard to operate.
Very clean, very updated and comfy!!! Wish breakfast started at 5am vs 6am.
Good deal overall! Although I paid upfront (online) I got 8 (!) different charges totaling about $550 on my credit card after checking in. It was completely unclear what these charges were although the frontdesk staffer mumbled something about "security deposits" (why 8, each with a different amount???). This was my only negative experience at the Wingate but it was a pretty annoying one.
It had a great breakfast and even did light refreshments in the early evening. Staff was nice and the shuttle to the metro was great. Bathroom was tiny (one person at a time for sure) but overall room was accommodating. I booked two separate stays and asked when I checked in for them to be linked, but when I checked the following day before we left for the day, it was obvious it hadn't been done, glad I checked before we left.
Clean, well maintained, pleasant staff. Breakfast so-so. Finding hotel proved difficult, but anytime going to DC is that way.
The last time I was in the area for business I paid $66 more per night somewhere else. Saw the positive reviews and took a chance with a cheaper hotel. It paid off! Very clean room/building, delicious hot and cold breakfast and the price was right! I will definitely be back! Nothing. Everything was great.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Traveled for a combination of business with leisure and this was a great location with shuttle services to get around.
It would have been nice to stay in a room I paid for however your staff was so rude he REFUSED my room and called the police on me. I slept on a bench because like I said I already paid for my room. I will never ever try and stay at your hotel ever again in my life after how I was treated the other evening.
We had a king room with a sleeper sofa which was great for our family. The staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast included little touches like nuts and fruit for oatmeal and waffles. I wish the hotel had a safe in the rooms. It would have been nice to stow valuables away.
Room was nice and quiet despite proximity to highway. After having paid for the room upfront online, staff put 8 (!) different charges on my credit card for "incidentals" or whatever, 2 of which have not been removed after more than a week, without reason or justification, even after I reminded them twice by email. This is not acceptable.
Almost everything. The hotel staff was exceptionally nice and professional. The room was much nicer than other hotel rooms offered at this rate. The bathtub drain needs to be un-clogged more often. The hot water temperature was very good and the water pressure was strong, but water backed up in the tub while I took my shower. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel. :-)
The hotel in a very nice location and the room very comfort. they give to me Room No 403 we can't sleep because of the noise of the air-condations from out side. and the hotel staff are not frindly
Location. Easy walk to many attractions as well as to my business destination.
Service was excellent They changed me an extra 200 dollars when I checked into the hotel, despite prepaying on Kayak
Decent room but the no coffee and breakfast doesn't seem like a big deal. Until you're there. Then it's super annoying. There's a Days Inn near here on Pershing Drive, I'd stay there overeating here.
stair access only to second building. Terrible set up for the handicapped
Close proximity to the metro. The hotel is not far from the metro, but it is also right off the side of the highway, making it quite loud and a little bit of an eyesore. When I arrived, the staff seemed a bit confused on how to check me in. They allowed us to "check" our bags for the afternoon while we traveled. The pizza place next door seemed enticing at first, but quickly turned us off by the looks of it. Appearance is everything sometimes. Very poorly cleaned room. Hair left in the hair dryer. Shower looked like it had not been cleaned. Overall, poor quality. The room was really warm, despite efforts to turn down the heater. Would not stay here again and would not suggest to a friend. Way overpriced for value.
I loved being so close to the metro. I found the room and bed comfortable and adequate. The fridge and microwave made it so we were able to provide most of our own food, which was a plus for us. The prices were the best we could find so close to downtown. You can also easily walk to the Iwo Jima memorial. No elevator anywhere near our room, so you had to carry everything to the second floor (not that atypical in my experience). The pool was a big letdown. It would have been a big perk for our young children. The water was cold; the whole pool room was so foggy in the evening that you couldn't even see across the pool; the shower curtain in the pool changing room was covered in dead gnats, and the ceiling was covered in condensation that dripped on you as you changed.
The room was clean and quite. Close to DC. Friendly staff. Took 30 min for staff to get reservation. No tv remote. No breakfast
The rooms we're clean, it is not too far from the main points of interest-$15 taxi ride or a cheaper metro ride takes about 25 minutes We called the hotel to say that the first person from our group to arrive will not be the one whose name is on the reservation to make sure there is an easy check in, only to find out that the hotel cannot find the reservation even though we received an email confirmation. Saying that there is no reservation at all we we're told to call the booking website, we're places on hold by the hotel for a long time before we finished a sentence, and overall it was really hard to edible this and took us 50 minutes of calls to figure it out and find the reservation.
Location Tour buses took over the parking lot
Price was pretty good for DC during spring break. Close to subway. Wireless was extremely slow and intermittent. They felt is was our computer but we had several...they could not all have issues. The room was moldy causing a lot of allergy issues.
Location If you want to sleep past 7am avoid room 221. It's next to the maid's "staging area" ,so starting around 7 there's loud banging around & talking. The walls are quite thin.
This Best Western is very run down. There are cracks in the bathroom walls, mold or dirt in between tile. The room didn't smell clean, nor feel it. I would prefer hotels not spray room freshener (which they didn't), however it had a stale smell. The first room we were given was #119, whatever you do, don't take this room, it is next to the laundry room and the noise and banging from the machines is not tolerable- this room should be a storage unit- not fit for humans. ( it is also right under a staircase to the second floor- kids were running up and down alot. Second worst experience at a hotel/motel ever!
Very clean hotel in good neighborhood. Arlington is very nice and is easily accessible from the hotel. Compared to other hotels in the area is very affordable. The staff was also real nice and if you need to store your luggage after you check out for sightseeing you can for free. There is a decent walk to the nearest metro rail station to get into DC and the surrounding areas and the highway can be a little noisey. No breakfast included.
The rooms were reasonably updated, good cable tv options, and the pool was terrific (lifeguard on duty, so I got to swim laps while the kids splashed. . ). Our rooms were actually quiet, everything was clean, and the staff quite helpful. I particulalry enjoyed the fresh coffee in the lobby (though missed having a hearty French Roast for much of the trip). Most of the restaurant choices are a few blocks away, so we got some exercise when tired of Ledo Pizzeria and diner. Wish the pool was open earlier in the day, and it could stand some spiffing up.
Everything met my expectations.
was in town on business. Staff was polite and helpful even though I checked in around midnight. Room and decor were average at best. Not enough easily usable outlets next to nightstands. Central air system was noisy. a Pubic hair left on the sink and a couple in the shower was gross. Morning complimentary coffee was actually decent which was appreciated since I had to be up at 5. All in all, fine for me as a solo business traveler billing the client for accommodation. However if I was looking for a romantic getaway with my lady, or on vacation with the kids, i'd look for somewhere with a more unique and fun vibe and higher standards.
The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away. If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.
Hotel facilities were very nice, location is perfect for going to GW. The staff were very helpful, I had a problem with the reservation, as even though I booked the reservation using getroom.com, it was not found in the hotel's records. I spent an hour on the phone with getaroom and the hotel staff to get it resolved. They recommended that I use Hotels Tonight instead. One comment, the cleaning staff woke us up at 8AM to ask us what time we wanted the room cleaned. I thought that was a little weird... would generally prefer they just come when we're not there.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. At times wait staff was sparse
Staff very friendly and accommodating. good location, nice area for walking, close to Rock Creek Trail
Clean, friendly staff Morning coffee ( that was free!) was horrible
Great location, great food, great staff, very comfortable. No coffee in the rooms!
The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away. The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.
Rooms, staff and food
Location Shower didn't drain, staff wasn't overly helpful, which I would expect from a 4 star rating.
Location and amenities. The Rooms at the Westin always stay dark in the morning which helps u sleep in. This isn't a complaint but a suggestion. The bed in room 221 could have been place to give the view of the Ferris wheel, the current placement was done prior to the wheel being put in place.

The Hotel was nicely tucked away in the inner harbor surrounded by a plethora of stores and eateries. I purchased this hotel for my mother's birthday and while visiting her we found something very unpleasant in the room. My 3 year old son found a pair of dirty underwear and socks underneath the bed.
Exactly what I expected from Westin. Polite staff, fast check-in, beautiful facility, comfortable, everything worked. Great hotel bar/bartender. Excellent location. Staying at this hotel is a no-brainer. I heard my neighbors through the wall a couple of times. Crying baby - I know some say let them cry, but jeez! I think this is more a case of inconsiderate guests than a hotel flaw. Also, the A/C seemed to take a long time to cool my room.

proximity to harbor, parking and restaurants didn't ask if we need help with our bags
Valet guy was SUPER nice; I self parked because I wasn't sure where to valet. But the valet guy noticed me struggling with some luggage and offer to help me get down a few stairs before even confirming I was staying at the Westin.
Sufficient for a stay over night.
i found a real good offer - 92 dollars a day for a double room
Very modern and clean facilities. The staff. Location
Great hotel very poor housekeeping Our room was not cleaned after requesting twice Room was not cleaned till after 8:00pm. At time of check out Valet pulled up our car and it was badly damaged. At time of payment I was charged for parking $35.00 each day After I complained about damage to car I wasn't charged for parking. I paid my bill over $500.00 I asked to see manager and complained about room not being cleaned until after 8
Hip Decor, clean, comfortable.
My wife and I prefer boutique hotels, with heavy emphasis on set and setting. this place creates an environment that transports you from the norm of your life to the fantastical. Highly recommend this hotel! Was very romantic, upgrade to a king studio as we did, or better. Such a magical place! The only comment I would have is to park you car directly across the street from the hotel where the parking is around $20 a day instead of teh hotels $38 dollar valet service.
Very nice hotel, good location, staff very helpful.
great room, location, cleanliness no hot shower
The hotel was very central to points of interest (for me) ie historical sites, shopping, gay neighborhood. All within walking distance. Fantastically clean. No negatives
Decor and bed. As is usually the case in the USA, most staff less than fully competent.
Good location. Friendly stuff. Ice machine wasn't working so wasn't iron. Valet parking only. Room was really small.
I loved the room and the cleanliness...the comfort of the bed..overall great... the fact that there was no tub mat in the bathroom. Tub very slippery. as a business traveler my flight was late and when I got to the hotel there was no restaurant or room service.. on my floor there were not even vending machines to purchase soft drinks..
Great location and accommodation . Personable staff. If I had to find a weakness it would be too very small elevators
The Churchill was a delightful respite for this harried traveller. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, the decor very pleasing, the room quite comfortable . All in all, my stay - though short- was very pleasant. I have no complaints.
Very warm and welcoming front desk staff. Great location. Well appointed rooms and spacious Nothing comes to mind.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is an old building with character. There didn't seem to be any dress code for the staff so I couldn't tell for sure who was working there or hanging out. Staff couldn't easily tell me where local restaurants were. I had to find them on my own. The air blowing into the room from the HVAC vent was loud. I would have expected this from a cheap hotel but I paid over $350 per night.
Comfortable bed. Great location good water pressure in the shower The coffee maker didn't work well- the blower dryer was cracked very small bathroom Complimentary coffee in the lobby would have been a nice touch and a complimentary happy hour would be a nice touch
Nice room - king size bed slept great. I was very disappointed that there were no coffee pots in the room or complimentary cups offered in the lobby. However, I was informed that I could purchase a cup in their restaurant for $4.00. For the amount of money that I spent on the room, I really feel something as simple as a "complimentary" cup of coffee should have been included.
Friendly, helpful staff; great location, spacious room, well appointed and comfy. Overall good pic! Room too hot, useless thermostat, too much light at night. Bring a sleep mask
Spacious room located across the street from our conference The heat in the room was stuck on and the thermostat didn't do anything. Had to leave the windows open to be bearable in the room.
Comfy beds, decent size room in the junior suite. Nice quality towels and linens. Staff was pretty rude when we came back from seeing monuments. Bar tender was very rude when I went to take a call from my sitter and acted as if I was running out on the tab and refused my drink when I returned for no reason. The manager, I assume was very rude when we came in laughing (mind you, it was a bday party and gathering of veterans) In serious need of vending machines or at least bottles of water. The night staff was nice enough to bring up a cup.
the front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was wonderful.
Great accommodations perfect for Travel Show we were attending. Loved the location--convenient to many restaurants and sites of the city.
The atmosphere of the hotel was great , the look of the hotel was beautiful and made some great memories.
The checking was quick and easy and the staff friendly. We only saw the concierge once, so not much help there-we asked the taxi drivers when we had questions. The room was clean and when we asked for one extra towel to be left we got an entire stack of towels within 5 minutes. We also appreciated the vending machine & ice machine down the hallway. Unfortunately our room was on the street side (I did ask for a room with a view) and even though we were on an upper floor, the street noise was much more than expected. Sirens and honking and back-up beeping kept us up most of the three nights we stayed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as well. There were no lights on the desk and tv side of the room-only on the bed side. We found that odd as it was difficult to see while reading or writing at the desk. The bathroom was spacious, but I would have liked a "night" light or dimmer in the bathroom for at night.
Location was excellent. The hotel is really nice and the price we got could not be beat.
Good location room was small and far from the elevator. had to call maintenance to get the tv to work
The room was clean and modern. It was an excellent looking hotel in a great location. The White House is only about 3 blocks away. We were able to walk to the Verizon Center, area bars, The International Spy Museum, and other attractions in downtown DC. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything going on next door and it sounded like the the family upstairs had pogo sticks all night long. Every time our neighbors flushed the toilets or took a shower, it sounded like we were in their bathroom.
Location, location, location Helpful staff Very outdated Raggedy carpet Stench in hallway Noise from plumbing in next room
Clean room Quiet Friendly Staff Great location Great price Nothing!
Location is prime right in the middle of downtown and close to numerous good restaurants. The king bed I had was not very comfortable it felt as if my back was sinking while the rest of my body parts were aloft.
Close proximty to city center, metro access through lobby. Nothing
It was clean The parking very expensive
Everything was very good but the cost was high for a room. I could have been as comfortable at a less expensive hotel Cost
Spacious and comfortable. Visibly older and run-down in places.
The staff was friendly, location was convenient, rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished.
staff was courteous They accepted my reservation then gave away the room. Sent me to another hotel without rooms. A true nightmare in the middle of the night in DC
location and the size of the family room is perfect Bathroom of the room is too small ,rooms are too cold ,no place to get poor breakfast
The hotel was quiet, the room furnishings were fresh and attractive, and I found the decor pleasing generally. The room overlooked the courtyard, which was also quiet. A good location too--we were able to walk to many of our destinations right from the hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed a cab one rainy morning, and asked at the front desk if they could call for one. Instead, the bellman grabbed his umbrella and went out to the street, down to the nearest busy corner, and whistled up one for me. Above and beyond! Our room was small--would have been perfect for a single guest, but a little cramped for two. Just one bedside table, for example, with no room for a second. We would have liked a king bed, but one evidently wasn't available--again, perhaps a size issue. Last, half the wardrobe cabinet was taken up by a room safe and refrigerator pre-stocked with candy, soda, and alcohol, so there wasn't quite enough room for two people to hang our things. And yes, no iron or ironing board. We didn't try the meal facilities. We'd stay again--the pluses outweigh the minuses.
Unique historic and charming hotel in great downtown location. Nice antique furnishings, nice dining are for breakfast. The room was small but clean and comfortable.
Charming historic feel, convenient location but out of the big hotel loop. It felt more like staying in a neighborhood yet could easily get everywhere I wanted to by walking or metro. The staff was pleasant enough but I would have expected a small hotel to be a little more personal.
The location is convenient.
The hotel has been recently renovated, so everything was brand new. Note that only half of the hotel is the "historic" part, now the other half is new. That didn't bother me at all. There was a very nice, upscale feel to the whole place. The staff were wonderful - very nice and accommodating. I stayed one night and when I came into my room after being out, all of my lights weren't working - a breaker had blown. When I called the front desk, it was taken care of within 10 minutes by a very polite maintenance staffer. The location was just okay - I walked from the closest Metro (Mt Vernon/Convention Center), and found myself walking along a street with boarded up houses. I wasn't taking any shortcuts, this was one of the main streets by the hotel. This wasn't too much of a problem for me, as I used Lyft to get everywhere and didn't do much walking at all. But it is something to keep in mind if you are making a reservation here. The only other thing was that my bed was very firm. That's a total personal preference, but did interfere with my sleep
This hotel is an oasis within the city offering old fashioned values and quality service.
The hotel was absolutely stunning! The restaurant's service was great and the food was delicious.
Small room. Dirty carpet. TV in a cabinet. Full size bed. Horrible stay
First it took forever to check in. The employee checking everyone in was amazing and trying to keep angry customers calm but there needed to be more staff. At 11 pm it should not take 30+ minutes to check in, when I already had a reservation. He couldn't find my reservation and said they don't always see reservations when booked on other sites. Then my room was nice, but freezing! Cold air was coming out when it should have been hot. I tried to bundle up but there was only one blanket.
It was clean. There was no frig. TV didn't work. Bathroom was super small.
Location, staff and views. Hotel is not well taken care of. Broken bathtubs with cracks. Towels are very rough on the skin, it needs a little or a lot more fabric softener. No mini fridge in rooms. Loud guests in the hallways during weekend nights.
The price for the room was great! We had a huge, clean room with a coffee pot, TV, view of the pool area. I experienced no cockroaches (which I saw in some other reviews) and the front desk were very accommodating. The location was good, we were 5-10 minutes drive away from all the monuments and it was easy to get to and from the Amtrak station. I'd stay here again! My entire floor wreaked of weed and it looked like a group rented out a room and partied it up. I didn't tell the front desk because once I got into my room, it was quiet and smelled like fresh air.
Ac in cimmin areas was bad. Hallways and lobby were hot and humid.
Clean. Big rooms. Bland rooms. Staff indifferent. First they sent me to the wrong floor where the room was already occupied. In the morning I was awakened by a staff member saying they needed an imprint of my credit card for incidentals. They had not taken down the info properly the night before. THEY WOKE ME UP for an $8.00 charge (that EASILY could have waited until checkout)! Never going back.
We stayed for one night and our room was beautiful. We got lucky and our room was on the top floor and at the end of the hall so it was nice and quiet (aside from the occasional siren sound that everyone expects in the city). We could literally see the White House and the Washington Monument from our room! 10/10 we are going to try and stay there again! The parking fee was high, but I knew about it ahead of time only because I read reviews ($35/night after tax). Also , they forgot to put washcloths and hand drying towels in our room but we did not much care because of how beautiful the room was!
Good location, nice rooms, in walking distance to the Capitol and the Metro (nearest stop: Navy Yard) Internet was quite slow in my room (I believe I had room 728)
Friendly staff at the desk and housecleaning. Clean rooms and building. I didn't get the breakfast buffet but it looked delicious and had a lot of options. Lobby bar was nice but short staffed. Bartender was funny and knowledgable of the area. I felt fine walking around the neighborhood. My boyfriend felt it was a little run down. Staff told me it's an "up and coming" neighborhood. I live in a city so I'm always very aware of my surroundings when walking on the street. I would recommend this to everyone, no matter the location. If looking for a restaurant, you would have to either eat at the hotel or go to a different neighborhood. Staff was friendly but checking in was slow. I think someone new was working the desk but still, very friendly and helpful.
Nice pool, and new furniture. Bathroom door did not shut. Wait staff was unfriendly.
Noisy.... Pay extra for Parking in the same hotel that I stay...what a scam ....... Allowing People's from outside able to get in the hotel..and used the pool as there owm....overcrowding to pool to the extend that a paying customers can't used was like a old bad episode of MTV video " College spring break party & Cribs mix together I will never stay there again
You can't beat the location of the Skyline. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are in need of a facelift.
