The room was of a decent size and was clean and tidy. The hotel was in a good location. The staff were pleasant and helpful The shower was not great in terms of water pressure. For the price of the stay breakfast should have been included and there should have been decent biscuits in the room. When we arrived there was not enough parking spaces for the two cars in our group.
The location was fantastic for us just a short walk from the train station and near the opera house and shops. The room was a little small but very nice.
Bags carried to the rooms, very clean room, good sized rooms cost for extra items, e.g. drink, foor etc.
we have stayed in hotels in london etc, which were a lot better value for money and definatly a 4star experiance! our room in the hilton york left a lot to be desired!!
location Room was way to small for family of four. Not enough legroom to open suitcases, etc.
nice and clean, "tight" basement carpark but with great staff and very good location. for what you get its a little on the expensive side but being right in the center of York some may expect to pay a premium.I get to travel the UK with work and have stayed in better hotels for less omney but it was still a very nice place. hotel was quite noisy till late but there was a wedding on down stairs so its all good.
cental location. clean and quiet rooms. very helpful staff.
garage parking was possible no air co in room and noisy corridor
york its self not being able to park
The location was excellent.
Hotel was very nice comfortable rooms. Staff were very helpful
Convenience of the hotel to the City centre The lack of a car park and the lack of additional lifts. To have one small lift in a hotel of this size is ridiculous.
Very helpful and polite staff throughout the hotel More parking would be nice
Good food, comfortable bed and location was good Lack of suitable clothes storage - only hanging space no suitable draw space,. No room safe
Staff very friendly, ideal hotel for short break rooms not very warm
Clean modern room. Breakfast was great. Rooms to hot, beds to soft. Would like the choice of a bath.
very convenient location & availability of secure car parking; presentation of room; great breakfast; friendliness and assistance of staff - very helpful at check-in and check-out (included checking on our car parking and reminder to turn off car headlights) all good
The room and staff could not be faulted. Would highly recommend.
It was very clean and fresh.
The comfort and style. Good location and was really close to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few minor issues Room was extremely hot but a fan was provided. It was noise in the morning with then Kitchen staff were making breakfast which was below our room. One strange thing was where we were allowed to keep our bags before we checked in our room...this room was unmanned unlocked. I would of liked to keep out luggage somewhere secure, although on request the staff did keep my laptop at reception instead Wireless access was poor had problems connecting.
Good location Rooms were small and basic.
The breakfast was excellent. The staff were highly efficient and extremely amiable, the cleaning staff spoke and smiled and to be fair the staff are by far the strongest asset of the hotel. The hotel surroundings were very nice and there was plenty of parking. The rate we had paid for the room should have ensured a more space within the room. The room we stayed was extremely small, the bathroom was also very small, however the room and bathroom were perfectly adequate for our stay but I would not have liked to stay more than one night.
i liked the room we stayed in and the style of the hotel the high prices in the bar. also some parts of the hotel were a little shabby like broken tiles in the bar (floor) damaged ceiling in our bathroom but nothing i would complain about..
Location parking and classic architecture Room lacked adequate ventilation, very hot at night. Pricey for room even with weekend special rate.
Good location & facilities. Within walking distance of city centre. Room was in basement and therefore limited natural light and no view. Bathroom extractor did not work. Noise from nearby railway station. Expensive room service. Pillows & bed linen substandard
The room was fantastic. I had a smoking room, which was better decorated and nearer reception than my colleagues' non-smoking rooms. Other people's comments. The rooms are great. Some rooms are far from reception, but that's because the hotel is huge! Everything was perfect.
The room 101 was fantastic and the convenience for the train station. No we liked everything...if anything, the room was a little chilly at first but we soon found the thermostat.
Comfort and convenience Nothing
friendly polite hotel staff. Very good breakfast menu with black pudding. a bit pricey for what you get, and did not expect to be awake listening to disco at 0.45 a.m. in what is a four star hotel.
It has a good location, close to both the city centre and to the station It was huge, with a 15 min walk from reception to the rooms
The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service in the bar and restaurant also very good. Reception staff were variable from disinterested to excellent
Very good level of comfort. Pleasant, helpful staff. Would have liked more milk with the teamaking facilities.
close proximity to all attractions in york pillows were uncomfortable!
location london prices, poor car parking and additional charge
How close it is to centre, rooms very clean, breakfast lovely, the juice at breakfast was terrible watered down with no taste .
The hotel was close to the town and when we finally got our room heated it was pleasant to stay in. Service in restrant and bar area very poor we went down for our dinner at 8.30 first course was lovely then we had to wait 10 minutes for chef to appear to serve our main course which wasn't very hot.
Breakfast was great Overpriced for a room with peeling paint, faded wooden furniture, stained table and an opened packet of biscuits with the tea/coffee making facilities.I don't know if the smoking rooms are classed as second rate but l wasn't impressed at all.
Very central Extra money for car parking
Comfortable rooms, good conference facility. Bar was not geared up to cope with the large numbers of customers during our stay, long queues and quite expensive. Not much choice of beers.
It's a good central location but not noisy, easy walk from the station. It's poor value for money.
The view, the room, the bed, reception area We stayed for just one evening meal, from the carvery. It was disappointing. And i do like a pot of tea at breakfast rather than a tea bag in a cup!
We liked the older style of the hotel, especially the ground floor and staircase. too noisy, doors banging and people moving up and down the stairs, rooms need some sort of sound proofing.
The hotel was a work of art and so different from the chain hotels i would normally stay in for that price
The evening meal in the reastaurant was excellent and very good value
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast food cold
Very little. Was on a nice street and it was good it had a bar but that's about it. Really one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at and would not recommend to Americans. Rooms were like hostel rooms, the showe had no pressure and you had to stand in the corner to get under it, rough building, dated interior, awful bed.
The friendliness of all the staff and the cleanliness of the accomadion. Also the hotel itself was a lovely period house with Art Nouvea Decorations Just what I have previously stated about the rooms being in what was called the Courtyard because one had to dash quickly into the main part of the hotel in wet weather.
location to city centre, staff friendly neeeds a lot of tlc. windows replaced, showers replaced...very basic for the amount charged
The decor was fantastic
absolutely tiny room, totally overheated, and staff could not even bring me an ironing board (which didn't fit in the room anyway!)
The building itself - fantastic architechture and interior design. The welcome (generally excellent). Breakfast was not top-notch but OK for the price
Me and my son where very please with everything about this hotel. Room comfort was excellent, breakfast was extremly good, staff very helpful & the price was spot on. Nothing notable
Phil was very friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. They serve a very high quality breakfast with a great selection (all local produce – none of the cheap sausages and cold soggy bacon you would normally get in a chain hotel! There is even a sheet detailing the farms and butchers where it all comes from!) Good location too – literally a 5 minute walk to the city walls and no more than 15 minutes to the city centre. Free parking right outside as well with a permit you are issued with on arrival – perfect!
Great value for money, really friendly and helpful staff - couldn't do enough to help. Great breakfast and would definitely stay there again.
The owner and his staff were great. The house was beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished. The breakfast room was sunny and the lounge was comfortable with lots of travel books to browse. No
Friendly service, excellent decor very relaxing.
Reccomend highly. Peaceful. Tasty breakfast. Lovely room. Room 4 bed was a little hard.
The homely, relaxed atmosphere
The homely feeling
Small friendly guest house, the rooms are spotless, tastefully decorated and the shower is great. The owners make you feel very welcome and the location is ideal, 5 minute walk from city wall and 10-15 minutes into city centre. We'll be back!!
We loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, good local knowledge, immaculate room, very clean and bright.
Clean and welcoming No
being in the centre of town the rooms have very thin walls - and I had very noisy and inconsiderate neighbours
Good size room, clean, modern, close to city centre
the room was nice the pool was not very good lack of things to do for children
location the hardness of the bed very uncomfortable compared to my previous stays
The food was excellent and the staff very helpful at all times, from booking a taxi, to service during dinner, there was always a smile.
The hotel and room were lovely although a little expensive. The breakfast was gorgeous! A nice 10 min walk to shopping. Nothing to not like.
Convenient for city centre whilst being quiet and away from any noisy bustle. Warm, comfortable room, good restaurant.
The hotel was comfortable and convenient for both the city and also not far from the university.
Very convenient for exploring York. We were able to leave the car there for the whole of our stay. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. We thought £24 was far too expensive having paid the price we did for the room.
location; pool; separate w.c.
Hotel was great lovely & clean. We had breakfast with our stay which was excellent fantastic choice, eat as much as you wanted cooked breakfast & cereals fruit etc. Staff friendly. Great location for York Races. Can't think of any.
Very good location; very pleasant staff Restaurant prices too expensive (as other reviewers have noted); breakfast room is pokey; limited television reception.
All staff extremely friendly and helpful no gym (but only observation if i was staying longer)
The hotel exceeded our expecrations, quality of food was good, staff were very attentive and courteous, leisure facilities were very good. Only point worth noting is to provide a better toast facility for breakfast.
Once we actually got into our room, it was well maintained, quiet and comfortable. We had to move room twice before getting a satisfactory room. The first was situated directly opposite the lift and very noisy. The second was shabby and situated next door to the 'plant' room. The rooms in the older part of the hotel could do with updating as the decor is a little tired.
Room very clean and bed was very large and also comfortable. View was very nice. Windows drafty.Quite noisy as there was a wedding party below the night we stayed.
The pool was good. Spa facilities small but adequate. Not there long enough to try treatments . Nice smelling toiletries and breakfast was varied and plentiful. Staff were pleasant. Not too far out to walk into city centre Seeing discarded breakfast trays by the room in early evening, These were moved straight away when staff informed. Room only had two small velux windows so in a beautiful location , unable to take advantage of this. As it was an adjoining room the insulation to next room was not so good and TV next door was on loud and late. no extractor in bathroom- so steamed up quickly. room size very small- not as expected
Very nice hotel .conveniently positioned, plenty of parking. Only one bad point.cooked breakfast did not look very appetising,we arrived down for breakfast at about 09.30 and all of the items for the cooked breakfast looked to have been out too long and were dried up.we avoided these and settled for a cold breakfast with toast.
food was good.Lady on front desk was very helpful. room was cold and i did not like the bed kept slipping down it.
Cleanliness of hotel, hotel location, hotel facilities, Booked in for three nights bed and breakfast, on two morning we were informed we were not booked in for breakfast, informed reception after first time this happening and was told that they would arrange this did not happen again, it did the following morning. I had to show my confirmation email from yourselves as they had us booked in for room only.
The bed was very comfortable. The receptionist very helpful. A good location. Check-in and out very efficient. It reminded me of a Torquay guest house. It is tired and the bar area needs a good clean in places and needs refurbishment. The breakfast was just about adequate (one rasher of fatty bacon!).
The continued support and friendliness of all staff
The adorable restaurant in the basement. A big surprise there! Great great great breakfast!! Staff super friendly also. Definitely a hit!
Excellent breakfast service to your table, hot food on a hot plate in good time
A very pleasant hotel, excellent staff and good value. Nothing
Good value, near to Railway station. Smiley staff, beautiful furnishings, felt very safe and secure especially be a single woman traveller
relaxing weekend, ideally situated, excellent facilities, excellent staff nothing to not like
Very quiet location and close to rail station and city centre. Excellent swimming pool. Breakfast and evening meal very good. None
The hotel is well placed and just a 10-15 min walk to the center of york.Rooms were very clean and comfortable.Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpfull.Special thanks to the young man on the front reception desk who provided us with hot tea and weather and traffic updates after getting our car stuck in snow in the carpark when checking out due to the severe winter weather! By the way we got home safely!!
Very helpful staff. Comfortable room and excellent food. Great swimming pool. None
Newly refurbished rooms stylish and comfortable. Staff welcoming and helpful. Meals excellent.
Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Bedrooms and public rooms all very well decorated and furnished, and both breakfaxt and dinner were very good. Good location for access to York city. Lighting in the bar and restaurant is a little bit too subdued for our taste.
Stylish rooms - very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. We had to leave the car park by 12.00 mid day when we had planned a day in York shopping and the man on the desk was very insistant on this even though we booked it because there was a car park and it was close to the city centre.
hotel was very atmospheric, fabulous dining experience and really good location. No hidden extras e.g. car parking charges. room lovely but would choose different one next time as quite noisy with earky deliveries.
the bedroom was a little dated and tired
upgrade to a better room , great bathroom, good locaction, free parking
The location and the food in the restaurant Poor service not sufficient staff who knew what they were doing at breakfast
The breakfast was lovely and the room was recently decorated so was lovely and fresh. There were a lot of workmen still around.
Very close to shops. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was a big dip in the middle of the bed, and springs poked you from every angle. I had to swap rooms in the middle of the night. The bathroom was also extremely small, there was barely enough room to put your feet on the floor whilst on the toilet because the shower was so close.
no when i stayed there, that hotel was under remodeling and construction. some room was new some was not. they served us very old room. so, i was a bit angry.
staff were very good. Breakfast was excellant. It was clean. Very acssesable for getting into york room was to small , facilities in bathroom needed reviewing.
Perfect breakfast, really lovely compact room. Friendly husband and wife team who where a great help. Nice and close to central York. Loved the place, Maureen Wootton
Excellent value for money, perfect location and extremely friendly owners. Very much hope to retrurn.
A comfortable, convenient hotel. A very pleasant stay. None.
nice clean rooms and bretfast very good no
The friendly service & very comfrotable bed.
very friendly.nothing was to much trouble.food was lovely.all in all very enjoyable stay
Room was very small, but very nice and comfortable. Flat screen TV, hot drinks and ensuite all very good. Breakfast was excellent. Ideal for the single, budget conscious traveller. Great Value for money.
Clean and friendly. Breakfast was very good..easy to find and flat ten min walk into center of York.plenty of taxi s available at reasonable cost if you don't want to walk.
the breakfast was very nice, made from scratch. the bedspread, thorought it was dirty
friendly staff, clean room, no trouble at all
helpful and friendly staff bed not very comfortable or the pillows
I liked so much the friendly welcome and in general the attention to details.
A really friendly welcome, and helpful with information.
Hotel staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good and the room was clean. A little bit far to the city centre.
Tony and Alison were very friendly, good breakfast, no problem with parking and it was free. would stay there again
Clean room with all that I needed and a great breakfast all at a great price. Run by friendly, normal family.
Extremely friendly staff who are polite, very helpful, excellent breakfast. All needs catered for in the room
I liked the all-round experience, really. It was comfortable, very clean and very close to the town centre. The proprieters were very friendly and approachable. I'm wracking my brains, here.I guess if I'm really honest,I'd have had an extra banger or a rasher at breakfast but that was a small gripe.
The room and b'fast were both very good. It was particularly helpful to be given a recommendation for a local hairdresser, make an appointment for the next day, and to be very pleased with the result!
The hotel was festive but rooms were extremely chilly as radiators were on a timer. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was very good. It had been snowing and it was extremely cold so the heating should have remained on to ensure the rooms were comfortable.
York has plenty of things to do. They seem to have traffic under better control than many cities, getting about on foot is a pleasure. Prices are reasonable and we didnt feel we were gettilng ripped off. All the meals which we had were good, for a longer stay than four or so days York is a good centre to travel out from.
Real coffee & cafetiere in the room, welcoming friendly atmosphere, off street parking, clean & well maintained.
everythink was in near by. no. everythink was great
Friendly staff and location to the city. The shower is in need of an up date.Actualy the whole bathroom could. Saying that it was clean and ok to use.
Room cold and draughty - heating not on long enough.
Hotel staff very friendly & helpful, room excellent size. Could possibly invest in duvets as beds had blankets on them?
central hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, walkable into city centre but with bus stop outside for tired feet !
pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Nothing was a bother. No
For our needs it was fine. We had a twin room 1A. One bed was ok, the other needed a new matress and my wife could not have slept another night on it.
The position was ideal for jumping on a bus into York, which is only a short bus ride away, but saves all the pain in trying to negotiate the traffic and find car parking.
The rooms were very quiet and little noise from other rooms, especially doors banging No character but this depends on what you are looking for. we wanted comfort and cleanliness as we were visiting York city centre and that is what we got.
the locality as we were going to york races and it was ina perfect place to get to the races easily.Very enjoyable cooked breakfast nothing at all
Impressed by how clean the room smelt on entering Beds very soft and pillows very flat. However, when I asked for an extra pillow staff were extremely helpful, even asking what type of pillow I would like
the friendly and helpful staff, the quality of the food and the service in the dining room and the helpful, polite receptionist
Too far from city centre; breakfast good but too expensive
Cleanliness and friendly staff nothing
Clean room, friendly staff Room a little cold
The location was excellent, our room was overlooking the River Ouse. The room was nicely decorated. The bed was too soft for my liking but that is only a personal preference not a complaint.
In the city center, room window across the river More then a hotel, it's like hostel. No hotel personel especially day time, just a man who also looking for the restaurant under the hotel or the hotel on the restaurant :)
York is a beautiful city, enhanced by the Waterfronts hospitgality and excellant food
Great location comfortable room Owner/manager played loud music until 3 30 am had to ask twice for it to be turned down then off !
Location only 1. Room cleanliness was poor 2. Bed linen was worn and appeared unwashed in particular cushions 3. Room decor was in bad state, craked walls, flaking paint, worn and dirty carpets 4. Toilet seat was broken 5. Shower head fxing was broken/loose so had to jam soap dish behind sower head in order to have a shower. 6. Limited, just 2 powdered coffee drinks available in room 7. Access to room also dirty and in need of decorating 8. When I made the booking I asked for b&b, this hotel did not serve breakfast 9. No parking available, closest car park approx. 2 - 300m away. 10. Old best with a very uncomfortable matteress and cushions
It was a great location with beautiful views over the river
Good location, friendly reception Huge cobwebs, bedding smelled, pillowcases stained, bathroom dirty
Good location friendly staff Dusty under bed
the owner was very friendly and accomodating, the place had plenty of character (being 400 years old) and the location in the city centre right on the river was superb. a great place if you want to shop, eat and visit the pubs and clubs it was a touch noisy at night from the pub next door but only until the pub closed. a reception would have been nice as you could only check in between 12 and 1pm and after 6pm which meant you had to time your arrival if you travelled some distance
Warm welcome, lovely room road noise
Lovely small guest house, very comfortable, staff very friendly, good breakfast, a nit further from city centre than stated but would certainly go back.
Very friendly owners, clean rooms and lovely breakfast AFter being at the hotel for one night and paying for the room on arrival, we were told we had not been charged the correct rate when booking and were asked for further monies. We argued that we had made the booking three months previously and no-one had contacted us to inform us even though they had the quoted price on booking. The owners did agree to waiver the extra cost but I felt uncomfortable after that.
Clean and friendly. Ideally located for York city centre.Very nice breakfast. Nothing
Lovely accommodation, spacious, pretty room (Room 3). Staff very friendly and accommodating. Very good breakfast, lovely dining room.
The best thing was a change of scenery & relaxing time away, from the stress over the past year from building work at home, illness & losing a very close relative. The only very small thing was we found the room too hot during the night & couldn't sleep we had to open the window & fan on to cool us down.
beautiful on suite room great breakfast and very friendly hosts an all round perfect stay
We had a very warm greeting when we arrived and were given lots of useful advise about the city. The room was one of the best we have stayed in - very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent for walking into the city. The breakfast was fantastic and kept us going for most of the day. The hotel was very quiet in the evening which meant a great nights sleep. I would highly recommend this Guest House!
The hospitality was second to none, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were stylish, exceptionally clean and very comfortable.
The staff at the Tower Guest house were very welcoming and provided excellent service. We were particularly impressed by the cleanliness. We did not have any complaints nor was there anything that we were dissatisfied with.
Location I thought the room was over priced for its size.
Great central location, perfect for visiting York. The room was a little chilly, but it was -5 outside when we stayed.
The Breakfast !!! brilliant service and food superb... and of course the position of hotel as the walls were opposite and you only had to walk over the road. The room was like a sauna we were allocated Room 32 (main road traffic and traffic lights) Could not open any windows very claustraphobic indeed. Could not sleep for the two nights we were there. The tops of the tables etc were dirty in places and sticky and had not been wiped or cleaned. The bath was a little dangerous to get into to sort the taps out for shower. They had a shower screen which they did not need (in the way) as a shower curtain had been provided too!. So you had to climb into the bath to adjust the taps and the water was boiling hot, and I mean boiling. This is very dangerous and should be pointed out to owners of hotel. I could have been scalded very easily or my husband.
clean rooms. excellent breakfst buffet and very close to city wall and attractions.
the size of the room was excellent as was the cooked breakfast Although it is great that the hotel has a car park, access is tricky and parking very challenging
centrally located reception area up to standard excellent breakfast and well run The rooms we had where not on a landing which we could there by lift but had to walk through a complicated number of steps especially when we had to carry up and down or luggages.
staff were helpful breakfast was excellent attended to needs and requests speedily some of the hallways were cold
Breakfast Parking was inadiquate, Price of the room £150 a bit much for what it was.
This hotel is not clean, the rooms are sub standard for what they charge. We had to change rooms 3 times due to failures in the rooms, the management's lack of interest. The whole weekened was spoilt by staying here.
Close to city centre
Location, good food, friendly & helpful staff Room slightly small for sharing & low water pressure in one of the showers
Staff very helpful and professional Good breakfast selection Pleasant room in terms of: space; decor; cleanliness
My two main considerations when I booked this hotel, where, free car parking and easy access to city. I was impressed by the higher than expected overall standard of the hotel and staff after reading some bad reviews.
Heated towel racks, lighted vanity
Closeness of the hotel to the city and the friendliness of the staff. Nothing
The rooms were warm and comfortable. The coffee and staff were amazing. A city center hotel with free parking. The decore was a dated and there was some cobwebs in the room.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel, which is ideally located within walking distance of all of York's main attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable and decorated to a very high standard Nothing to complain about!
location - short walk from city centre and all attractions. hotel - excellent food, location, facilities
It was in an excellent location, and was very reasonable, and the full english breakfast was excellent. The hotel is best described as "tired". It was probably lovely in about 1976 when it was last fitted out.
The service was 1st Class Nothing
Handy to be outside York in intetntion to go into the town centre. The restaurant was cosy with a log fire Terrible rooms. I could hear peple snoring and going to the toilet all night form nearby adjoining rooms. Staff did not seem very helpful (spilled drinks in the bar and got breakfast order wrong)
Proximity to York centre. Service at breakfast, insufficient food if you went down at 9.00 (breakfast .037.00-9.30 ) and repeated requests for toast and coffee ignored so that we reached the 9.30 deadline and then told "breakfast is only served until 9.30 !!"!
noisy with private functions at the weekend chaotic Sunday breakfast, not enough room for self service breakfast.
the hotel its self was very nice. the long walk into york. said only ten minutes. but its ten minuets to the river and another 15 into town. but on a nice day would be ok. nice river walk
We went for a meal as special occasion the food was very good and the whole experience was excellent everything - very good
All are good except the comment in the next box. The temperature was too low and I could not sleep well during the night. I then checked the radiator and found no heating.
I loved the Olde Worlde feel of the building and also all the original features that had been kept Everything was Ok until we went for Breakfast on the Sunday, went down at 9.15am there was a queue, went back to our room for 20 minutes, and went down again at 9.35 there was still a queue, I have never stopped in a Hotel and had to queue for Breakfast, we were refunded our £10 without a problem but I really feel there should be more seating area for the number of bedrooms.
The room was superb. Dinner was a treat, splendid menu and wel cooked. Service at breakfast time was not as good as it could be.
lovely location, great staff, the room we got eventually was nice and a lovely breakfats. good vfm wedding party - hbut they did stop the disco at 12. imp[ortant to warn people about the noise and extra demands this makes on a hotel
The hotel was well situated for York and had a very nice relaxed atmosphere. Not being informed that we needed to collect our own breakfast after we had previously been served by staff. We just picked it up from other guests.
Comfy warm room
It was only 15 minutes walk into york. The reception was very welcoming and we were offered information on where to go and what to see in York. The room was clean and maintained the features of a listed building. The breakfast was excellent
Really nice room with a very comfortable bed and everything was very clean. Breakfast was served at a reasonable hour and the entrance was available at all times if necessary, always positives in a guest house.
friendly, helpful but not intrusive staff.room was excellent with a great view of york
The hotel was close to the center of York and was clean, staff were friendly and helpful Length of time waiting for breakfast
Very attractive room, warm and peaceful. Excellent breakfasts. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking a bit tight.
Comfortable, excellent breakfast, parking and friendly proprietors. No.
Good breakfast and the rooms were clean Rooms were very dated look like they had not been renewed since 1960. Bed side lights and room light did not work. Very expensive for what you got. I wouldn't stay again as the Travel inn for the same price is so munch better
The room was very comfortable and the furniture was very nice. It states that this is a hotel but I would see it more as a B & B. I have stayed in many hotels through my line of work and this was not a hotel in my eyes. 15 min walk into the centre of York, we were located on the very top floor which was a hike up many stairs but the room was very nice.
Very friendly staff. Room was big, although decoration was a bit old fashioned. Well located, about 20 min walk from York minster. Only one hour for breakfast, meaning it was very busy and service was a bit slow. But breakfast was nice!
