I live in the area, but just needed to get out of the house and find a quite place to study with reliable internet access. This place was PERFECT! Beautiful/simple courtyard made it feel more like a working vacation. There is a wine shop up the road that has a great selection and the friendliest staff. Check it out while you're here.
all was wonderful.
Large room, nice bed. Low water pressure, not value for money. Old facilities, currently undeconstruction for remodeling.
cleanness and room service some rooms too noisy
The surrounding and pool were amazing. Shower in the room was the best after a long night. Do not get room service, food was burnt and not good and extremely expensive.
We liked : Vicinity to the University, the clean room, the prompt service when we asked for an additional towel. We didn't liked the breakfast at the hotel. The coffee was "cold" at every refill. The menu "a la carte" was poor and way too expensive!
Upon checking out, I had to leave my luggage with the bellperson until I was ready to leave the hotel. It was very easy and accessible to obtain my luggage; and get in my car and leave. The lighting in room 3015 was not good in the bathroom. I recommend more lighting. The room had a slight odor that reminded me of dirty socks. I didn't ask for another room because I was already in my pj's ready for bed. It would have been a real hassle; I just went to sleep to forget about it. They also need to provide coffee that is not so strong other than Starbucks; possibly a columbian mild coffee in the room. Starbucks is all they serve in the hotel.
close vicinity to downtown Palo Alto and friendly staff. Not many other full service hotels around that are sub-$300. loud heaters, weird/dated setup of rooms, loud CalTrain station directly behind hotel.
Bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms need remodeling. The cost per night is ridiculous. The TV reception often disappeared for a few moments. The train noise was still quite loud even with the double windows.
Thank you for the free Wi-Fi since I was only staying one night. That helped me prepare for my interview day in Palo Alto. I also appreciated being on the top floor so it was quiet and easy to fall asleep. Thanks to the check-out staff for the complimentary bottled water; it helped me arrive at my interview alert and with a clear voice.
Nice beds - All the usual stuff you get with a Sheraton. Nice pool. Great chill out area around the pool. I got a room overlooking the railway. I was told the trains stopped at 11pm - They don'T. Still, good sound proffing helps. You can also hear the other rooms bathroom activities. Alo be aware of the $10 a day parking charge. Crazy as the people who visited me got a stamp from the hotel and paid nothing!
Early checking was great. Good bed. Good shower. Close to transport and shopping! Very noisy rooms. You can hear every toilet flush, shower and tap in all rooms above, below and beside yours! Not great when trying to sleep.
Comfort and Location. Someone to carry my luggage, and need to pay room internet.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is excellent.
It is a beautiful hotel with the perfect setting. I made the reservation on your website which was an excellent experience. I did not appreciate the sales manager calling me and threatening to cancel my 2 reservations if I did not pay for both rooms up front 30 days ahead of time. I was totally aware that it was Stanford's graduation weekend which is why I made the reservations to begin with.
nice semi luxury
The beds are the reason I stay here
Helpful staff, clean, elegant, comfortable, but not too pretentious Train noise, but proximity to train is a pro.
Service is outstanding; friendly and very attentive. nothing
Everything was first class. Staff, finish, food, amenities, attention to detail, all were above expectations. N/A
Everyone was so friendly and the hotel was clean and very pretty. Our room was great and we received a complimentary upgrade. Nothing! Having to leave :)
service, size of room, accommodation generally, quality of the food, pool and gym, general ambiance
confort and clean rooms, new facilitation and fancy design, not quite near to Stanford yard but fair if you dirve. Worth of money.
Comfortable and gracious Coffe in am really sucked, way to weak and cool
Friendly staff, wonderful location, and good food made for a very pleasurable stay. Also there was a nice pool. Wish the hot tub was working!
The training and courtesy of the staff, very comfortable bed and a relaxed atmosphere. All staff are simply delightful. The train track behind the hotel.
Well maintained nice hotel Music or other noises from outside could be heard inside a room during night.

Great service without being intrusive.

An incredible property! Convenient to US-101, it's a wonderful property. I was treated extraordinarily well; every need was met.
Amenities; spa, pool, gym For me, the location was convenient and easy to get to work. Gentleman holding the front door entrance Cleaniness of my room The meals were good The location is not surrounded in a lively area. More amenities should be offered at this hotel

Convenient, clean, upscale The Restaurant's food was overpriced.
No refrigerator to store my perishable snacks and water.
First class in every way!
The staff were so welcoming and helpful. I stayed for 7 nights and was impressed with the extra attention to details, from the soft sleeping masks and welcome water and snacks in the room, to the delicious and tidy breakfast room to begin my day. This facility provides big-name amenities without all the big name cost and delivers better. As a woman traveling alone, I will definitely stay here again when in the area. My room was impeccably clean, welcoming and very thoughtfully stocked. The extra toiletry items that are standard here I have not encountered at big name hotels. For my room, the older tile shower could use a thorough grout cleaning. Other than this, huge thumbs up.
Free parking Gym was not really a gym, no ventilation. It was like a sauna.
We found everything clean and in good condition.
Clean and has good extras like microwave and fridge. There was a gap under the door. I had to roll a towel to close it up. Also it seems like a lot of hotels never have electrical plugs available by the beds.
Receiption people are friendly and polite n/a
vicinity of Palo Alto
Well appointed rooms, efficient staff. Corner room was small and somewhat cramped; No towel rack or place to hang towels. Have stayed here before, and some of the other rooms are larger.
Very nice room in a US-style hotel, good taste in furniture and high quality materials, good self serve breakfast in a dedicated room, quiet
Water pressure for shower - minor in the overall scheme of things. For the value -
Service. Amazing attention to service.
Very convenient location if you have business at Stanford; nice Jacuzzi and breakfast!
Conveinence to family home and friends. For an old hotel, it is kept up quite well. No luxery, just basics. Not really....
It is across the street from the Stanford Shopping Center. A very upmarket, beautifully laid out center with Bloomies, Nieman Marcus, lots of restaurants and cafes.
breakfast is closing at 9:00am sharp. On Sunday went down to lobby at 9:25am and breakfast was all gone. No breakfast after 9:00am even on Sunday..
refrigerator was nice to have as an amenity. Bed was comfy. our bathtub's drain stop didn't work. Had to cover drain with a cup to keep water in so I can give my daughter a bath.
proximity to Stanford Hospital
Free Parking. Free Wifi. Inexpensive. Bathroom was nice. Rooms were smaller and less swanky than at the Sheraton up the street which wasn't much more expensive. Also, saw a stain on a pillow. Key didn't work once and had to be re-coded.
Location is great - very near Stanford's campus. My room's thin walls and poor door didn't protect me from all the noise in neighboring rooms and on the busy road nearby. I needed ear plugs to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Beautiful grounds, large rooms, quiet, good value for the money Although in good condition, the facility is dated
Needed two rooms and got a good pre-pay rate. Short stay but comfortable. Very good breakfast on site.
The staff were helpful and upgraded us to one of the suites. The rooms were old fashioned and we had an exercise bike in our room
Beautiful setting and gardens. Two highly-rated restaurants on premises. Heated pool and lovely pool setting. Friendly staff; immediate response to requests. Spacious room; useful mini-kitchen with prep counter, sink, refrigerator, and utensils. Comfortable bed. Ample room lighting. Convenient work desk and sitting table in room. Mix of contemporary and baroque furnishings is odd. No microwave in room. No hot tub/jacuzzi at pool. No fresh (refrigerated) half-and-half available for the coffee in the lobby.
The staff were very helpful and the room immaculate.
Very nice and friendly staff. They even gave us an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and spacious.
Everything was great. Especially liked the staff - very helpful. The Deluxe room was big with two queen beds. Our room in the back of the property had a flat screen tv. Dinah's had character, and the grounds are beautiful.
The bed!! The Menu and In-Room movie feature on the TV was not working ... a very very big disappointment!!! I stayed with my adult daughter and it was a luxurious one-night "get-away" for us (a dr. appt at Stanford) and we were looking forward to watching a movie together. I know that sounds unimportant, but my daughter has four kids and this was really a one-night treat for us!! Front desk staff did not seem too concerned.
The bed was very comfortable. They had my booking as one night and I had booked for two nights. Luckily, I had my printout from bookings.com but there is some probably between your systems. It was well handled by the front desk.
the hotel room was very clean the hotel was over priced, the staff was not well-trained, compare to the westin hotels in other countries. the room was comfortable, but the hotel's other services are not too impressive considering the money i paid.
I took my daughter to visit the Stanford campus. The hotel location was convenient, the staff were friendly, room service was prompt, food was great. The bathroom was modern, clean, and well lit. They charge extra for parking.
Close proximity to Stanford University. Excellent big bathroom with an excellent shower separate from the bath tub. Very good exercise room. Very comfortable bed. Price. Additional charge for internet. Unusually poor information provided in the room concerning such things as available television channels and fees for using the telephone. Lack of seating other than the desk chair. Too much noise from hallway--door to short--perhaps from a day when the carpets were thicker.
Comfortable hotel and great staff service.
The location was excellent and the staff was polite and helpful. Our room was on the 1st floor and we could hear when someone walked past our door. Also, the air/heat unit in our room was too noisy to run through the night. Finally, the decor of the room looked more like a finished garage than a hotel room.
the location is off a busy street so worries about too much traffic is minimal no
Room was clean and the bed, bedding and pillows were very comfortable Quiet and you can get sleep after a long trip or day. WIFI was off and on with my current computer and would drop sometimes. Important if you are searching vital information you need the same day.
Location. The room was very dated. Stains on the chairs and carpet. Crack in the bathroom wall above the tub.
Location Stains on the chairs and carpet. Then there was no shower curtain.
Location and price It was very quiet area Small breakfest area nothing to write home about
The king bed was comfortable. The staff was nice, Okay. The Manager was very friendly.
Beds were comfortable Smelled like mold. The carpets were so dirty and if you stood on it barefoot it actually felt damp. It seemed to be at least 20 years old carpeting.
Very close to Stanford University, and the freeway. No
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had an excellent night sleep.
Good price The included breakfast was not worth having, the coffee was terrible - more like flavored water.
Clean and location Nothing it is just an older motel
Unable to cancel at 7 Am same day even though the said it was cancelable on the website
The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. My room was ready when I arrived. Too little water pressure made for a bummer of a shower.
The staffs there were friendly. The bed is very large and comfortable. The door makes noise, when wind blows, which is a bit irritating. But not so big problem.
The hotel is reasonbly well equiped and clean.
The worst breakfast ever, Really poor breakfast offering and there aren´t enough tables to eat calm our breakfast. On table in the reception is really kitschy
perfect for our needs. stop on our way on highway one. very nice owner!
The staff was very friendly. It was very close to Stanford. When I checked out, it was raining and I was in a hurry. I did not check the details of what was charged. A day later I found out that I was charged $1.5+tax for the use of the safe, every day. But I never used nor requested the use of the safe. It was locked in my room from the very beginning. I went back to the hotel for a refund. But they said it was already charged to my credit card and cannot be refunded.............
Friendly staff. Food at breakfast station was good. Tables / chairs and Breakfast area and floor around it could be cleaned more regular. Was a bit sticky.
Location is great. Booked through hotels.com with a $40 higher rate than if I would have called the hotel directly. Location
It wasn't very clean and it was very old. Beds were not good.
There was a refrigerator in the room, tv, wifi, and a bed. These were the good things. If there are any other suitable choices in hotels, do not stay at this one. Paying a bit more would be worth it. It was dirty and quite smelly,
It was very clean and it was obvious they were actively remodeling and it was very nicely decorated.. I travel a to. And honestly I realize that hotel beds are not the best, however I honestly looked to check if I wasn't actually sleeping on a boxed spring that is how bad it was .. Worst ever!! And usually when a mattress totally sucks you can position your pillows to help. Well that only works if your pillows aren't the size of throw pillows the small kind and hard as a rock flat.. In retrospect they were probably sold as a matching set with those bedrock beds..
convenient and inexpensive, nice staff...room fine for the price, close to everything you need in the area
I love the two room suites. They are two bedrooms and a small kitchen area for a price that cannot be beat. The hotel overall is a good deal and close to lots of good food. The outside is undergoing upgrades but the rooms are clean and quiet and spacious. The pillows are small and the water pressure in the shower was not awesome. I'm not sure if the water issue is due to city usage restrictions or not, but my water was cold by the end.
I was very disappointed overall and would definitely not go back. I moved the next evening to Best Western Mountain View and this was a much better hotel for the same price. Poor cleanliness, noisy and internet did not work.
Easy parking. Quiet. Musty smell in room
for the price it was very clean and in a good location. I would stay again.
Room was good (big enough and clear), location is excellent (not so far from Stanford Univ.) Hotel really has no breakfast room
We booked on points and were upgraded to a Cabaña suite. A huge space with a balcony overlooking a plaza with a gorgeous tree.
The staff was extremely nice and professional. I felt so welcomed. Clean hotel!!! I would definitely come back.
very nice hotel, comfortable, very clean, the staff was helpful, good location, free internet
It's very clean! I would definitely recommend others to stay here. What I didn't like was that the Restroom Door is See-through.
The nightly rate was reasonable. We decided to stay here because it was so close to San Francisco. We had a good experience with crowne Plaza. I recommend it..
Good onsite breakfast buffet. I wasn't a huge fan of a first floor room with motel-style hallway windows so that was a little uncomfortable but in the end it was still quiet and didn't seem to cause any issues.
It was in a pretty good location since it does have a Palo Alto address and is right on El Camino Real. But, it is not right in the heart of Palo Alto near downtown or Stanford. They do offer a free bag of chips and free water (Kirkland brand) in the room. And, there is a coffee maker if you need it. EVERYTHING! This is a total "bait and switch". The website presents a cute, quaint hotel both through the photography/logo and language that is used. It is anything but. I looked in the closet and saw an old, used "Days Inn" paper cup (why has the closet not been cleaned out!!!), and it made sense. This must be a former Days Inn. The rooms are motel-style where they open into a parking lot. They feature a weak chain for the door. I was 1,000% disappointed, especially for the price. The website said, "our continually updated, one of a kind guest rooms feature plush beds, modern bathrooms, and a full array of amenities." This place is nothing like that description. It is not at all updated. It was formerly a Days Inn, and it looks like an old, out-of-date Days Inn that would be better in a low-end neighborhood not Palo Alto. The only good thing about the room is that it had a large flat screen TV with Dish Network. And, there is free wi-fi. The beds have no headboards, the pillows are bad, the bedspreads have stains, the lamp shades were cracked and showing yellow water stains, the furniture is way out of date, the hangers were old, the room is super small (had to put the luggage rack in front of the entry door to have room). The bathroom is bad – the door didn’t even close all of the way. The towels are like loofah sponges - very thin and really rough. I noticed wear spots on the carpets and the walls were dinged and nicked. And, sadly we paid $238/night - $270+ with taxes/fees (based on the language and imagery on their website). It is really bad. I would AVOID this hotel like the plague unless they offer a super, super low rate. The lady at the desk claimed that they were renovating (I saw no evidence). I highly recommend you wait until the renovations are done and then give it a try (but, only once you have photo confirmation of the end result). If their renovations live up to the website imagery and language (and price), then this will eventually be a fine local hotel. But, right now, it is not good at all. The lobby features tired wood paneling and very tacky decorations. And, they offer a "grab and go" breakfast, but it is super basic with plastic packaged muffins and danish. I highly recommend you avoid this hotel!!
Swimming pool. WiFi was inconsistent, price was way too much. "Breakfast" was served in a small room with a couch. If you are in the bay area, maybe check out another city to stay in, the owner said all hotels/motels in the city go for over 200$.
No wifi connection Old / dirty furnitures Poor breakfast
Clean, fast WiFi, nice art print on the wall. Adequate parking, and of course a low price in a costly area. Lumpy bed, loud and not very effective AC, laughable breakfast, bit of a sketchy vibe if you're the sort to spook easily. Slow front desk everything.
Great location Very noisy room to room. You would think for a high end new hotel they would have spent some money on sound proofing.
Everything about this hotel was awesome. The staff was wonderful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
