The bedroom, the spa and the restaurant. I had been at this hotel before. This time I was given a bedroom in the Garden Floor. This floor looks dated and the bedrooms are not as nice as the ones in other floors so I requested to be moved to another bedroom, which the hotel kindly granted me.
The location is great - outside but still 10 mins to the centre.
the spa, gym and pool is ver very good - although the treatments are pricey Being charged 5 pounds for parking having spent 500 pounds for a 1 night stay
The leisure facilities are excellent and setting is beautiful. The cost of the food and drink were excessive
the kindness shown to us after we complained by Byron Fiddler, Reception manager the attitude of Charlotte the receptionist who was extremely rude to us on arrival and the weather! it was very cold in the room.
spa + breakfast carpets in room could be cleaner
Beautiful views over Bath. Superb spa facilities. Sumptuous bathroom. Standard double bed was inufficient for the price/quality of the hotel. A king size should have been standard. Neither of us got much sleep due to lack of space, which is a poor outcome for a hotel advertising itself as luxurious and relaxing.
Particularly liked the use of the spa facilities and the quiet room We hoped for internet access in the room but this did not work and was not fixed although we were told it would be
Spa and Hydrotherapy facilities Room dirty on arrival, inexperienced resteraunt staff, limited menu.
It was a most pleasant place to stay, staff were friendly, helpfull and non invasive. No
location initial confusion about reservation
The city of bath is fantastic Nothing
Reception staff and parking facilities I was extremely dissapointed by the qaulity of my room, the cleanliness and general condition of the facilities. The hotel is out dates and far beneath what I would expect from the Hilton brand. I stay in hotels all over the world and this simply does not measure up on any level.
Well located to get around the city center and clean and comfortable . Staff we had contact with very pleasant Cost of parking
Convenient location for Bath amenities. We were going to Theatre Royal, and the Hilton is just a 5 - 10 minute walk away We were attracted by the Parking under the hotel - and this was easy to find. We were not told it would cost us £17 however !
Absolutely abysmal It took 35 mins to check in because your company fax the reservations through on Saturday morning to an unused office that nobody on the check in desk knew anything about
The staff. All were polite, efficient, very well trained and took the time to make you feel welcome - despite being busy. They took a pride in their job. The sound proofing in the basic rooms was not very good, so if you wanted to sleep on a bit in the morning it would have been very difficult. We were there to make the best of a couple of days in Bath, so it suited us.
The location in the city centre couldn't have been better. Nice views of the river from the restaurant. Helpful staff.
Modern decor Thin walls and doors.
View Poor ventilation. Room needed a little tlc
Clean and roomy. Nothing!
The service was excellent, making for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Not applicable
The room was spacious with a lounge area that opened out to the garden. The spa was lovely, it is a great hotel for relaxing as it is very quiet but right in the centre of Bath which means you can walk everywhere. The food service was very slow and the bathroom could have done with being updated.
Extremely comfortable in rooms and lounge. Spa was very relaxing . Service was excellent. Hotel was beautiful. Breakfast very good. Could be more relaxation chairs in the spa, although there is not much room.
small room to much furniture old t.v which did not work
The hotel itself is full of such beauty and is so breath taking from the outside, the staff were good and wwe had a wonderful meal there. I would have liked tea/coffee in the room rather than having to ask room service and the hotel room was a little shabby.
The friendly and helpful staff, the quietness and the beautiful surroundings both interior and garden. The only disappointment was that whilst a private function was being held in the restraunt area we had to go through from the spa in our robes. When my husband sister and her husband went to the bar for a drink we had to sit tighly packed into a corner. We did not feel like guests, but more that we were in the way!
the location and facilities were superb ! No !
Pleasant situation and very helpful polite staff. Convenient for sightseeing and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good and well presented. No flannels available in the bathroom.
The location of the hotel was spot on. It was close enough to everything we required without being smack bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The staff were amongst the most pleasant and helpful I have come across in some time. The Spa was disappointing and the reception staff were not particularly helpful. Albeit the treatments were amazing and the therapists very thoughtful and understanding.
My room was very small, i don'tthink i had the nicest room in my price category.
The central location No parking so therefore I had to move my car from a car park @ 08:00hrs. Also rooms very small and very warm.
central locality. Comfortable rooms
Its location.The bathroom was excellent.
The location was perfect for my stay in Bath, and the room and standard in general of the hotel again was good. The only meal i had was not that good(pork loin).I was unable to book breakfast because i had made my reservation on line and assumed that it was inclusive.I was then told it depended when i booked on line as to the cost of ordering a breakfast.I gave up and went to a very pleasent cafe.
The location of the hotel I did not like the fact that at a particular time in the evening and in the morning there was a loud ding kind of noise.
Nothing I would not stay there ever again The hotel room was dirty the towels were all stained and the waiter in the breakfast room was extremely rude. I complained to receptionist about his attitude
Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, fantastic modern bathrooms, central location, delicious breakfast. Right near a very busy bus drop off, but the hotel itself was surprisingly quiet and always very easy to access.
Nothing I thought it was hugely ovepriced. I might just about have been satisfied at half the price. Our room was ok but was in the basement and looked out on a poorly maintained wall. The heating had not been turned on even though the outside temperature was below zero and it was snowing. We had to queue for breakfast on both mornings.
A bit run down for the price - very tired decor. Expected that for a 3 star, but paid a lot for what it was. Decor - dreadful!
It was very convenient to see the attractions Having to pay for parking.
It was in a very convenient location and friendly staff The hotel does not have a car park
Comfortable large rooms with modern furnisings. It is a little further outside of Bath than I expected but that didn't stop us getting a 10 min taxi ride in for about £6.
nice and relaxed and breakfast was great some much
The owners were very accommodating and the building very characterful. Also close to local facilities.
At the arriving day the extra bed for our daughter was not prepared, but she got for the first night a room of her own (upgraded without extra bill). The second day the room was not cleanded. And any excusion by anybody. No wonder, the management is not in the hotel.
Really friendly staff, lovely room, free upgrade!!! Breakfast was really well cooked. When we had afternoon tea the bread on sandwiches was dry. Also the mattress was very uncomfortable.
the breakfast was very good, although the dining area did feel very cramped, the saff were all friendly and polite. The room & ensuite was cramped we did not like having a wash hand basin in the bedroom, felt we were mislead about the bar, as it was drinks served out of a cupboard, which we did not use
The staff were accommodating and the breakfast was excellent. Lots of options for the food and filled us up so that we didn't need a proper lunch. They put effort into the details, like cafetiere coffee in the rooms and Glacier fruit sweets everywhere you went. We had a nice bathroom with a walk-in shower but it was difficult keeping the water in that area. A few surfaces (eg. high shelves) hadn't recently seen a duster, nothing major though.
Friendly staff who were attentive and efficient characteful hotel with all the right amount of facilities ot having choice of shower only a bath.
Large room for the family. Bathroom was very small and a tad grotty. Very poor ventilation.
close to city centre we booked a double room, but the double bed was two single beds put together.
Friendly clean comfortable helpful Parking expensive
Comfortable, clean surroundings. Delicious breakfasts, very helpful staff. Not exactly a 'dislike' however bathroom windows could have done with a roller/roman blind - just to give a more 'finished' and less cold, look.
Staff Little over priced
Great room, great staff, great breakfast in a very good location. Stayed in four different hotels on this trip and the Brooks was far and away the best.
closeness to city room was a little smaller than expected
Only about 3-4 minute walk to the centre of Bath, nice and central the sink was not in the bathroom it was next to the bed and the room that we were in sloped inwards to were only able to use one side of the bed. The bathroom fan in the room next door was loud at night as well (midnight)
A great guesthouse, looked exactly how it did on the website, safe parking in the public car park behind and ideal for walking into town. We were greeted by friendly staff and the room was very comfortable and stylish.
Prolific hot water, baths/showers at any time. Comfortable, clean room. Quiet room at rear of hotel. Proximity to town centre and car park very good. Lovely choice of breakfast items. Friendly, welcoming proprietress. Would have preferred breakfast to be included in the price.
a very friendly guest house Michael was very helpful and had lots of advice about the area
Sally was always happy and helpful. I left my purse on the train from Bath and the station in Cardiff called the B&B to let me know they had it. Sally was very helpful with the problem and helped a lot.
Excellent location for the christmas market in Bath.
We where in an end room so it was quite noisey you could hear people coming back and the traffic wasnt told about having to pay for the parking until checkout
friendlyness of the staff when drawing the curtains in the morning they fell off the curtain rail to see a view of the cemetary next door...
The staff were very friendly. We were able to check in immediately and got our room before midday which was great. Room clean and breakfast fine.
The prices for drinks at the bar and also cold drinks from their shop were extortionate! £1.50 for a small bottle of water! £18 for 4 drinks at the bar! Very disappointing.
The staff were very accommodating, efficient, polite and extremely helpful.
Large quiet room Smoking in the entrance lobby
The staff were very acommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was not the best it was a bit on the cold side. Also we paid £139.00 for a one nights stay which I thought was very expensive for this type of hotel
it took nearly 40 mins to check in
Asked for a single, twin and triple but ended up with three twins
The staff were very efficient and pleasant both when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning - we enjoyed our stay although very short!
location, lovely building, view from our window
The location is very convenient for visiting the historic sites of Bath, and the parking is very easy Our room was on the top floor. As there is no lift the climb up the stairs could be challenging to anyone with mobility problems
Close to city centre Rooms were very small for price. The smallest rooms I've ever stayed in and not worth the price of the room. Parking was an issue.
We stayed in the Princess Suite and it was beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were fantastic, helpful, polite and sincere. The parking permit made things a lot easier and was value at £8 a day.To top it off, the bathroom had heated flooring! A brilliant hotel located in the centre of Bath - shops & eateries are 30seconds away.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and keen to make you feel welcome. Felt like home from home. Liked being able to see in to the kitchen at breakfast, log fire, excellent breakfast, beautiful room, central location.
top class, all the staff were so helpful and friendly, great breakfast
we found the staff very welcoming and helpfull . we have no complaints about this hotel whatsoever and look forward to stopping there again .
It was comfortable, well equipped and friendly. Also nice and quiet. It has lots of stairs which may not suit everyone, but I liked the exercise and the fabulous view from the top.
Staf very friendly, great location for city centre and room quiet and comfortable.
Everything was well thought out- ranging from the decor to the atmosphere. Some really clever touches made our stay personal yet unintruding. Highly recommended!
we liked the very well presented room, with the 4 poster bed, breakfast was cooked to order and was very quick and tasted nice. would stay again as owners were very friendly.
Quiet location and friendly staff
Friendly staff, good breakfast, large room and bathroom, off street parking. Tired decoration in bedroom & bathroom. Noisy bed and neighbouring room's bed too. More than just a walk into Bath Centre.
Good service and food and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly A little expensive for a B&B but it was in Bath which is expensive, so not a great issue
The room and the general facilities were excellent. The owners were helpful and friendly. Car parking, both on and off site, was very limited. The hotel was about one and a half miles from the city centre, although taxis and buses were plentiful.
Very comfortable, warm and clean. Lovely breakfast with s good choice. On site parking isnt good. Best to park on the road outside.
Staff was Wonderful felt like family. Room/bed very confortable, nice size and cozy and relaxing and quiet. Breakast was wonderful, bus stop across street e-z to get to city centre.. wonderful!
Well within walking distance of city centre warm welcome very attentive staff
Quality of accommodation, Victorian building and features but with modern comforts and facilities, good breakfast quality and choice.
the proximity to local places of interest. The room was spacious with old fashioned tasteful furniture and a flat screen television. I didn't like the poor state of the decor in the public areas and the room.I also did not like coming back to my room to find the door unlocked and wide open
We enjoyed our stay with you. The staff were wonderful, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was fabulous, so much to choose from. We will definately return. Just a few things. The room was a little cold, not enough chanels on the television (mostly childrens channels), it was quite noisy at night, but we live in the country so just not used it...the decor was a little dull in the room and the shower (as it so very often is in hotels) was not very powerful at all. These are not complaints, just our views.
Good location. Clean and everything worked Not always staff at reception and had to call out for them. Did not have our booking when we arrived and staff had to sort it out which took some time.
Central location Not enough parking space
Good location for visiting bath on foot. Warm welcoming hotel. Comfortable bed. No menu available in room, no mention of breakfast cost, consequently we did not eat in the hotel.
Central Location and easy to access. Slow and poor dinner service in the evening and regrettably staff that did not listen to actual service requests. English language difficulty perhaps and if so training is needed.
Needs updating. Its in a prime location but needs to improve to make people come back. We wont return
The convenience of being in the centre of Bath Rather challenging parking
Hotel is in great location for site seeing and getting around Bath.Hotel room was very nice. Concierge and desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet selection was impressive especially with the additional made to order options. The breakfast staff was so wonderful that they even served me when I mixed up the times and arrived late. They were very professional and friendly. The walls were thin and I could hear everyone passing by in the hallway, but earplugs solved that issue.
pleasant and helpful staff cleanliness location creaking floorboards early morning plumbing noises
The standard of service staff were very helpful . Location is brilliant a very short walk takes you into Bath and most importantly a comfortable bed. All was fine.
Well located, friendly, beautiful, clean Our room, #2, was very small. They graciously removed a chair and fan which gave us more room to open a suitcase. There was no surface to put a toiletry bag on, or even to empty a pocket. It was lovely to look at, but not so practical to live in!
Friendly staff and nice room. Quiet location. Walking distance to attractions. Child charge too high (35 pounds for a 3y old using existing bed with parent). Breakfast below average but expensive. No elevator.
very nice stay (quiet) with free access to spa and sauna and king size bed bed sheet were not cleaned
After booking I was a little worried by some of the reviews. I can only say how wrong some of them were. The staff were most helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The meal in the dining room most enjoyable and the breakfast 1st class in both quality and variety. Sorry, cannot find anything to complain about.
The room was very good and the breakfast excellent and the location great for walkers. Nothing
I went to there with my girl friend. However there is not so far away from the town centre. Just about 10~15min by bus. also good service, clean and warm room. i think very good for us nothing special
The buffet breakfast was lovely, and the hotel was perfect,
I totally loved this hotel - the thing that made it was the amazing staff, lovely and so helpful - thank you for a great stay.
Excellent staff and rooms, in a good location for visiting Bath. Superb value for money Nothing really
We very much enjoyed our stay at Bailbrook House. For the price we paid the hotel was lovely, the bedroom a good size and a very nice and extensive breakfast. Good free car parking which is a luxury in Bath. Bus stop at the bottom of the drive and a taxi back at 11.30 from the centre of Bath cost only £6.50. Really not worth trying to drive into Bath
helpfull staff large comfortable en suite rooms, excellent tasty full english breakfast, large free car park, quiet location but close to bath
friendly staff good breakfast the route to the dining room ,without going outside, took some learning
Lovely building and grounds;large room with good facilities. Late breakfast!! Water for shower went from hot to cold to hot again without warning!
We were woken up at 2:00 in the morning by an intermittent drilling sound or electrical static coming from the combination cock/phone apparatus. I had to get out of bed, battle a tangle of electrical cords and, finally, climb under the bed to unplug the thing. At 2 in the morning. Getting back to sleep was a challenge after all of that. All management had to offer the next morning was, "So sorry." I'd avoid the place like the plague, not only because of the facilities issue, but, also, the indifference of management.
As a solo female traveller, it is important to feel safe at comfortable. Chestnuts was fantastic. The staff were all helpful and extremely friendly.Happy to go back.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I loved everything about Chestnuts House - especially Tony, the owner. The room was lovely, the breakfasts were scrumptious and the location was perfect. It was a relaxing, charming place to stay. There was nothing that I wasn't happy with at Chestnuts House.
The high standard of the accommodation and friendliness of the proprietor, and its location.
Staff friendly and always willing to help over and above the paid for package and great location. n/a
Just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops None
Friendly, polite and informative staff, who were there to meet us. The room was superb - we could not have asked for anything more. The breakfast was, quite simply, the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommended. NOthing bad to say about our stay.
The breakfast provided was excellent - good choice, quality and service nothing
Owner very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent multi choice breakfast menu with both hot and cold options. Impeccable service. Excellent standard of accommodation, furnishing and cleanliness. Absolutely none at all !!
Warm welcome, helpful staff, off-road parking, clean environment, wireless broadband in rooms, sky-tv in communal lounge, silent ceiling fan, varied tasty breakfast choices.
It was a very warm and welcoming guest house, the orner could not of been more helpful with our requests ie we loved the pillows so have some on order, also put himself out to make sure we had all information we needed 4 a lovely stay n/A
Good location. Large, sunny room overlooking the garden.. The "en-suite" bathroom was actually across the hallway, not en-suite. The TV was a tiny portable which was too small for the large room. Parts of the hotel had been beautifully and expertly decorated with extravagant paint effects whilst other parts were in serious disrepair. Some people will like the owners' friendly, informal style but personally we found it slightly intrusive.
Interesting Georgian building. Friendly informality of the family-member staff. Out-of-the-ordinary
the owners were very friendly and obliging
The great breakfast, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in !! Nothing
Used it as a base to explore Bath city and surrounds. Hosts were extremely knowledgable and genial. Bath is a hilly city.
Hotel was amazing, very comfortable. Owners were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. The breakfasts were very generous too. Stunning property.
The Proprietors of this Guest house were extremely friendly and welcoming with a genuine love for what they do. The accomadation its self was homely and beautifuly decorated. would love to stay there again.
I loved the four poster bed with great view over Bath. Brilliant room and very friendly staff. We even had port in our room for free.
Lovely friendly hotel , would recommend to anyone , nice distance from bath town , lovely breakfast first class would highly recommend
nice hotel, comfy, slept well.the manageress went out of her way to help out and the breakfast was excellent. Everything was ok.
Excellent breakfast in dining room at large family table. Service was very good and staff was friendly and helpful. As it was quite warm while we were there, we had to keep the windows open at night and the main street is quite noisy, especially on weekend nights.
staying at the crescent was an experience that I will have again, as i intend to use the crescent again in the near future, the house was spotless, rita was welcoming and the food was second to none would recommend it to anyone. nothing!!
Warm welcome very friendly and helpful owner, excellent breakfast, convenient for the town centre and places of interest Room rather small
The owner was very helpful and could give dining recommendations and events to see when asked. The environment was very friendly and welcoming.
Friendly staff; clean room; nice breakfast. very cramped; shower did not work properly.
Warm and comfortable... little pricey...
Food ok Had to pay for 2 nights we could only stay 1 night as I had bad tooth ache absess under tooth was on antibiotics from dentist so had to go home early but still made to pay full amount!!
the proprietor was very welcoming and the location good. It would have been a lot easier if the website address mentioned that crescent gardens are actually on old bristol road as I had great problems finding the guest house. by choice I would not share a large table at breakfast.
Warm welcome, everywhere very clean and very comfortable bed. The local car park is convenient but very expensive. The guest house have permits but you need to collect this before parking the car.
Excellent location for historic Bath activities. Lovely view from room 7. Excellent breakfast with assortment of gourmet teas and coffees. Very thoughtful and dedicated owners. None
The exemplary hospitality, the decor, the closeness to the city centre and the excellent variety at breakfast.
full english breakfast with all the trimings excellent room on top floor had to climb 6 staircases
A gorgeously decorated little hotel run by a friendly couple who make you feel like you are a very welcome guest. A truly pleasant change from the big hotels and hotel chains where you are processed through the system.
Excellent accomadation, hotel had loads of character and warm feelings, supplied parking permit was a great advantage. Rooms were of excellent quality and staff were excellent and very polite.
Wonderful location for walking. Yummy breakfast. Be sure you don't mind stairs.
A great location to activities in historic Bath. This was a wonderful place for us to get over our jet lag. Wonderfully helpful hosts who made us fell very welcomed. Yummy breakfasts with gourmet teas and coffees. No elevator so be prepared for a good work out if you're on the top floor. But the view makes it worth while!
Great breakfast and perfect loaction with welcoming environment Room was a little on the small side especially bathroom
Personal friendly service and excellent breakfast Our room was a bit small but perfectly formed
Location perfect and very helpful and friendly owners. Due to being on top floor the water pressure was quite low but this is only a minor problem.
Lovely and welcoming. great breakfast
Excellent hospitality, very friendly owners, clean and tidy, beautiful Gardens, nice shower, good breakfast and much more Nothing
Room was superb but the real selling point was an outstanding shower which matched the waterfall shower at Bath Spa!! Tv had poor reception - but the view from the room made up for the lack of tv reception!
King room was spacious and well equipped. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Off-road parking and near to city centre.
A warm welcoming guest house, clean and tidy, close to town.
Friendly, helpful, breakfast superb, with plenty of choice. The room was cramped., chairs were uncomfortable to sit in. Would ask for another room.
Walking distance to city centre No bad points at all
The comfort of the room, there were lots of homely touches. The breakfasts were delicious, I particularly liked the fresh fruit. Iris and John were very helpful and friendly. There was nothing that I disliked.
Easy access. Great room size and lovely king sizebed and breakfast was great, plenty of choice hot and cold
The room and facilities were excellent. No bad points
Service was excellent and easy access to Bath Breakfast could have been better
The restaurant and bar. Meals very good, staff very helpful and polite. The bathroom was very small and restricted and with the heated towel rail continually onquite uncomfortable. Otherwise it was very clean and the bedroom was adequate.
Friendly helpful staff. Good food. Being disabled I found that it was not very disabled friendly in terms of access although the staff did a very good job of overcoming the problem.
It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. We were happy with everything.
Beautiful setting, extremely helpful and friendly staff would most certainly reccommend it not applicable
Location, staff and food The rooms in the Hotel's Lodge are very small, the bathroom tiny and we could fell the springs in the bed.
very quiet at night. good comfortable bed. good breakfast. warm room. shower water was not hot in the morning
Fabulous setting. Food and service excellent. Staff attentive. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Low water pressure in bathroom.
nice location, beautiful surroundings
Beautiful semi-rural location. You could have a scenic walk along the canal to the centre of Bath in 35 minutes. I was staying in the outer block. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. What I found very disappointing was the very poor quality of water flow in the shower a trickle. I would not stay in the outer block if I went back.
Nothing Poor Condition Throught out lights not working in the room very poor quality pillows
The redcar was in the perfect location for christmas market. There was not enough parking for customers at redcar
Location No Breakfast. condition of rooms. Need modernising
The staff were excellent and very welcoming Maybe lacked one or two finishing touches such as shampoo/ shower gel and additional glass for water rather than only cups.
Friendly staff Room more of an attic on 3rd floorwith more like a cupboard for a bathroom. It was ok but would not have thought so if we had not had a discounted price.
The central location; easy walk to everything in an attractive neighborhood. The fact that it was difficult to make a phone call, as the in-room extension was not connected and it was inconvenient to make calls via the front desk.
The hotel advertises free parking for guests - in reality this is used by the hotel staff - one cleaner came and told me I couldn't park where I intended to as she needed to park there and she couldn't afford to park on the road. I paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel and its not my problem if the hotel staff cant afford the road parking.
Extremely disappointed with lack of facilities and shabbiness of rooms /lobby. Very limited choice of drinks at bar and no draught beer. No breakfast available. Central heating not working - room on arrival was absolutely freezing. The bedrooms were in a very shabby condition, curtains hanging off the rail, lamp split and dented, cracked tiles in the bathroom, carpet fraying. The bedrooms were too dark
Suitable for one night stay Bed covers stained although sheets clean
Location Unable to use bath as plug was on short chain and wouldn't fit plugholeKettle was unusable, full of dirt/black dust-revolting
