The Capital, although nice, does not cater to the clientel as other hotels I have experieiced in China.
the Services an awful smell was coming out from drains.
Hotel permitted bandit (unlicensed) cars posing as taxis to transport people. Very bad practice!!!!
This hotel was fantastic. Rooms large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Services and facilities were all to an extremely high standard, from the room to the restaurants, bars and public areas. Location is good, central to most of Beijing attractions, and only 5 minutes walk to the subway station. The hotel even placed a complimentary birthday cake for my wife in the room which was a very pleasant suprise. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommed to others.
To be honest, it is a clean hotel. Definitely, not a 5 star hotel (3.5?). Hard to understand the accent of the staff while speaking in english. 2 yuan per minute for the internet connection is extremely expensive. None of the services are free, for example you have to pay for the swimming pool. Tours organized by the hotel to the Great Wall are not worth it. Staff is not honest: they promised and repromised me that the weather forecast was going to be sunny (for the tour to the Great Wall), and it finally was extremely foggy and rainy, they simply wanted to sell another ticket and promised me everything I needed to hear.
Good Location, very comfort and plenty of restaurants in the hotel along with other things to keep you interested. The daily room make up got worse during our stay.
the lovely staff. the toilet. it was a bit run down.
intreetinut personnel of the hotel room and excellence and diverse conditions, complete only regret that I had more time to settle, is still on the run and trying to do my work for which we came, but also to see some of the city
Parts of the hotel were not open to the public which should have been shared at the time of booking not two days before. The floors were never vacuumed during a one week stay. Other than that, the hotel was clean. However, since it is a 4 or 5 star hotel, it was a little surprising that the hotel staff's English wasn't a little better.
Professional staff, facilities I was OVER-charged by the hotel, compared to my booking.com reservation. I was quoted $350 for my 5 night stay, where 15% service charge was "not included"; this should come out to ~ $402 total. However, when I checked out, my credit card was charged $434. Though this is not a big difference, I feel as if my booking.com reservation quote meant nothing.
Great hotel to stay at. Everyone speaks good English and is willing to help
The location is extraordinary, the lobby is very nice, the bed is very confortable, the staff is good. The price for the breakfast, tee, and drinks crazy, and totaly disproportion with the chinesse average.
Everything outside of the hotel. Not much.
This hotel was so luxurious. Although it was luxurious, it was not best.
Position of the hotel and pick up service rom the airport was impeccible. Non quite to the luxury standard of the bangkok or Hong Kong hotels. Not a complaint, just an observation.
acess to hwy alot,teleohone system,food,internet
There was a big renovation of the lobby going on. Very inconvenient and there was no mention of that fact prior to my arrival!
Within reasonable distance to airport and shopping sites. Paying for Poor Internet Services that was out more than on.
An older but well-maintained hotel. Extremely clean. Very nice staff. Comfortable (very firm) mattress. Brightly lit gym. Right outside the Dongsi line 2 metro (20 ft?) and walking distance to restaurants around Workers Stadium. Not modern ultra-luxury but a comfortable place to stay. Very, very, very slow Wifi.
The swimming pool Too cold in the room. The heating system did not function well in our room.
Great location; close to major attractions
The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is located at close proximity to the center, an ideal starting point for many trips. The hotel breathes a very luxurious air which made the stay a very pleasant one. Overall, staff very friendly and helpful - with good English service. During the last night there was a lot of noise due to unscheduled maintenance. The staff said that they would take care of it but didn't. I had to complain several times before they told me they could not do anything about it. They solved the problem by shifting us to the top floor. For the inconvenience they offered us free breakfast and a free shuttle to the airport. So in the end they did their best.
Has nice gym and hair salon. Internet was not working for one day and I.T. person wasn't very good at solving the problem.
good & prompt service they should offer complimentary internet access like 90% of other main hotels. about 10 euros per day are way too much and not at all justified.
The location just down the road from a good market and right next to a MRT. Being woken early on a Sunday by a chambermaid in search of laundry - thinking my breakfast was included in the rate I booked only to find it wasn't and that the breakfast was quite expensive! (no doubt my own fault)
Stuff are nice, but hotel conditions & facilities are only worthy 4 stars! Airco is really bad!
attentive staff - "make it happen" attitude; nice rooms, well kept Spa closed "under construction"
Very convenient center of the city location. Very polite and accommodating staff. Large, comfortable room with a nice bathroom.Very good breakfast. I stayed on the Club Floor, which had additional amenities.
The room is big and clean with a flat screen TV as one would expect from a 4/5 star hotel. The location of the Hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the pedestrian walk of WFJ. It is about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Dongsi subway. Not exactly what we'll call "near". The address is no. 2 WFJ which is the other end of the pedestrian walk. It is suitable for those who have transport or those who travel a lot by taxis which are plentiful there.
Location Lack of interest when Air con reported as not working, did not want to acknowledge the problem in the morning at check out, this hotel was typically closer to a Western 3 star than 5 star as advertised. Bar closed at 11pm!
The room is clean, spacious and the bed is comfortable. It is walking distance to some good local shopping and eating places. There is no wireless internet in the room so I cannot use my iPad. Shampoo & hand soap were not replendish during my 4 nights stay. Strong cigarettes smell even though it is a non smoking floor.
Breakfast and dinner! I never saw a dinner buffet where even the drinks(juices and beer) are included. It is not a topic I didn't like but could be better: for such a standard hotel, more of the staff should be speaking a better english. The concierge is not exploring its potential which in a city as beijing is huge!
Smite of the staff Room was clean I was allowed to stay by 2 and 1/2 hour extra The lobby of the hotel is too noisy
breakfast was very good, room clean and ok, location close to wangfujing avenue and forbidden city ok no karaoke
PC provided in the room and connected. People smoking in the lobby
staff is very nice and helpful, room is very confortable and tidy, price is reasonable
Cheap They scammed us, by offering a "complimentary laundry service" charge, but when we got to the desk they charged is almost $100 for ten pieces of laundry.
Everything was perfect. highly educated hotel staff, luxury room, complete facility... We were really happy to stay this hotel. bad mannar of some hotel customers. the location is a bit hard to find out.
Very comfortable no
the room was elegant and the concierge was very helpful in terms of finding directions and making reservations. we paid extra for breakfast and the use of the executive lounge for high tea and happy hour drinks and the staff at the lounge was friendly and helpful
service and staff quite expensive
Everything - My Wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend the Beijing Hilton to anyone contemplating a visit to the city. We would obviously stay there again when we return. No - we found no fault at all. The staff were particularly helpful and attentive
Good service, wonderful room. Good quality. Helpful and friendly personnel.
Easy to register, Convenient to resturants, shopping, and good ammeninties Some front desk employees had difficulty understanding, English took a while before they got what was said. On arrival 3 young employees sat on steps drinking beer- didn't look well.
Location, comfort High price of room in the hotel. "Booking" offered cheaper.
Its new tech. provided, cleaness, warmness of the staff, the facilities available, convenient location and reasonable price.
totally very good
The strange smell coming out of the bathrooms eclipsed whatever else that might have been decent or acceptable about the hotel
Realy this hotel very nice and the staff are kind people and very helpful
I was put in the older wing of the hotel, which was a little noisy and given a room right next to the lift.
The Hotel is located nice and the surrounding has a lot more to offer than the hotel ! The room was not cleaned one day during a 4 day visit which i never saw in any hotel before!!!
Free hi speed internet in room and Apple macs and WiFi for all to use in Foyer. Pool was small but clean and inviting
location hotel very good beds were very hard walls between rooms very thin
Hotel and rooms are nice clean, in comparison to some other hotels in China and in comparison to some hotels in the same price category elsewhere. Employees are kind and try to give information requested. A lot of information is in three languages (Chinese, English and as well French). Enough good selection of different tea/coffee for self preparing in the room. Free bottled water in the room. In hotel shop along with post-cards on demand available as well the stamps. Against the deposit, you can borrow an umbrella. No clear information, which are no-smoking rooms. One of our three rooms had on arrival a cigarette smell of previous guest, the smell however disappeared after several hours of ventilation. In hotel restaurants a selection of western foods, but poor selection of ethnic and other Chinese dishes (my previous hotel in Beijing had several restaurants, one of them with Chinese-Moslem dishes); poor selection of food for vegetarians, no detail information about the constituents of dishes (in regard to vegetarians or to people over-sensitive to eggs or tomatoes).
Our room was upgraded to suites. We all loved it. Best location and very comfortable The bar at the lobby should be open much later and be more attractive. A lot of foreogn visitors would enjoy have a drink there
location, efficient staff and facilities Breakfast overpriced as was the bar
the room and the spa
Impressive swimming pool and gym facilities
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The level of service is excellent and the cleanliness is great. Real luxury.
The room was not clean enough.
the front office staff need a training how to deal with the customers very bad attitude, unbelievable the check inn takes around 40 min and check out more than half an hour and the duty manager he’s not fit to the job at all
Good service , super location , unforgettable spa ! Super Hotel!!!!!
A fine example of an international luxury hotel. Everything is at your fingertips.
Bed was awesome! Not hard and uncomfortable as I found at almost every other hotel I stayed at. Bath tub was spacious. Location was great! A little on the pricy side, but for the bed, I would have no trouble paying the extra cash.
Excellent. One pf the best hotels i have ever been in my life !
Outstanding service and location. The room was extremely comfortable. The hotel brunch had a wide variety of food that was excellent. Convenient subway station right next to hotel. I would definitely stay a the Regent again!!
The attention to detils, service and location
The hotel, services, spa, location was perfect. The view from the 15th floor through the window wall was just breathtaking. They changed us all the cosmetics and consumable staff in the bathroom every day. The position was just 2 min walking from the comercial Wanfujing street. The location was much far away from the Tien An Men square or Forbiden City than it seems on the map, but the subway is just under the hotel. The most unpleasent thing about this hotel is the fact that they ask you at the begining to make a money deposit as big as your stay plus 3-400 euro for different expanses in the hotel. We exceded the 3-400 euro extradeposit, and even if we still had to stay 3 more days for which we already payed the deposit, when they realise that we exceded the they called in the room at 23.30 to tell me to go to reception to pay 400 more euro. I refused at the begining telling them I will pay next morning, but they continued to call till I got down and payed. My wife couldnt sleep again for the rest of that night.
The staff at the front desk were terrific. Very friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist Abby. The happy hour and breakfast were satisfactory at best. It seemed out of place for a 4 star hotel.
The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. The location is very convenient with a subway station nearby.
Upon stating the shower facility of the superior room was not functioning as expected to the manager, we were able to upgrade to a very nice suite with room charge-upsell after expressing our unhappiness. The manager is quite accomondating.
The location is fantastic, walking distance to Wangfujing, steps to a metro line, and lots if nearby restaurants and a nice hutong Nothing
The staff is awesome. You feel like you are home. They were always pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again. I cannot think of anything.
Excellent staff, they're very helpful and they've good skills of English. The room was very spacious. The hotel is very close to shopping areas and historic areas. Nothing...
Manager mr Tian, all breakfast crew, the concierge Sandy. Wifi was worst I've seen, the Chinese govt blocked everything it's ridiculous especially for The capital of China, how can people do business there.
Location, cleanliness and quality of the room.
Their service is v nice.
The rooms were very comfortable.
Once our booking was sorted out, the staff were very obliging. The reception staff did not honour our confirmation letter from booking.com. They were pleasant but insisted we pay their full rate. Next time I will seek further confirmations before we arrive.
The Park Plaza is an excellent hotel and well worth the money that we paid for our 5 night stay. It is very well maintained and excellently located extremely close to the Dengshikou metro stop and within easy walking distance of the Wangfujing walking street. The staff is friendly and highly efficient. Everything worked excellently. The buffet breakfast was excellent as well. There is nothing negative that I can think of about the hotel. I will make it my Beijing hotel choice for all future visits to the city. It is well worth the moderate cost.
awesome location, great ambience, great service
Free wireless throughout the hotel. Free bottles of water.
They had a gentleman, who has worked at the hotel for 37 years, serve as Ambassador to English-speaking guests. He greets arrivals, offers them tea and acts as intermediary with Chinese concierges. Very welcoming. The lobby is gorgeous, location excellent, breakfast buffet amazing. We found the beds hard, though the pillows were comfortable and the room in the originial building was lovely. Concierge command of English could have been better.
Central location, right at luxury fashion street of Beijing. European design of facility. Lucurious service and setup.Very good.
Location and ease of getting around main tourist spots, good service and attentive staff.
The ambassor was very helpful in sorting out places to go and problems with myroom They allocated me the wrong room which was worth less than I had paid - no explanation was ever offered as to why
Felt that we were treated like we were the only people staying in the hotel. Position is excellent to get around Beijing The Concierge were not able to solve simple questions easily, not what I would expect from this type of service or this type of hotel
The location of the hotel close to the forbidden city and Tianmen Square as well as to exquisite shopping malls makes is an excellent choice for tourists, but the equipment of the business rooms and the attentive staff also makes a stay as a business traveller comfortable I brought my own laptop and benefitted from the wireless acess in the hotel rooms which was free. But the prices of the services offered by the business center and in the executive lounge (prices for copying, use of internet) are totally out of proportion.
Very comfortable hotel, excellent staff. We enjoyed the great quality of the rooms and the cocktail bar The sushi restaurant
Location, staff and facilities were super.
location and sercives the airconditioning system. actuallty it does not have cool air coming out when expected. so i end up have to open the windows to let the fresh cool air in. thats the only thing im not satisfied with.
Fantastic Location, great rate. The diffrence between and American managed five star hotel and a Chinese managed five star hotel is maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel.
The star level for this hotel should be 3 stars. The bathroom is outdated and there's mildew between the title wall, the bathtub has black stains all over. Over all very disappointed!
Business rooms were much better than standard rooms, newly renovated and nice. Standard rooms were more like a 3star hotel. This hotel has an ideal location for Silk Market shopping, Forbidden City, Tiannamen, Wangfujing Street, within walking distance. Standard rooms were in need of renovations. Not a 4-5 star rated hotel.
the room is clean and quiet. above of all, the staffs were awesome!
Beautiful atmosphere in old part of Beijing in restored traditional house. Staff extremely helpful, organising train tickets, taxis etc. and advice on area. Good breakfast buffet provided Not really a "don't like", but, being located in the alleyways of the old town, it is difficult to find and taxi drivers are not aware of it. Worth the trouble, though, once you get there! The owner (or manager) has two dogs which appear to have the run of the premises, including, sometimes, the restaurant. Not so good, particulalry if you don't like dogs.
Beautiful place, feel like at home, nice staff, convenient location. Have to walk a little bit from the taxi since that Hutong is very narrow. Hope that 15% service fee will be added inton room rate directly instead of find it when checking out.
I loved the space and the environment at the Courtyard 7. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location in the Hutong area is very close to alternative shops, cafes and bars. When at the hotel we bought tickets to the Beijing Opera. Sincerely I consider to pricey for the value, since it was a touristy, short imitation of the real one.
Very helpful staff When we arrived we were told we would have to stay at another hotel for the night as the guest in our room could not move until the following day as they had a bad leg and were elderly. This wasn't a real problem and the hotel paid for our transport from the airport and gave us a free dinner. When we did get our room in Courtyard 7 we spoke to some fellow guests who were told the very same thing and also had to stay elsewhere the same night as us. This made me wonder if they were telling the truth or had just double booked us. Having said that, everything else was fantastic.
The staff at Courtyard 7 were some of the most helpful that I have come across. They arranged day trips and onward travel arrangements, and went out of their way to make sure we had a delicious evening meal on our late arrival. This was an oasis in the middle of busy Beijing; a peaceful courtyard where you would find it hard to believe that the bustle of Beijing daily life is going on just outside the door. It was a little hard to find, and the hotel had to talk the taxi driver in.
The building is just fantastic.Beautifully restored,it feels like you are China 200 years ago but with comfortable beds and modern plumbing! The staff were all very friendly, especially Kent and Sherry who were also very helpful and knowledgeable about Beijing. The location is perfect as it is in a Hutong just two minutes walk from an area with bars and gift shops
very good service, nice traditional chinese hotel not the case
Amasing design in chinese style, small number of rooms, money exchange at the reception, good breakfast (but not too good for the european taste), good and big room with tv and stereo, comfortable bed. Good private car service (we used it for the whole day to get to Great Wall an Ming tombs), nice and not very expencive. The hotel is located in hutong, that's mean that it looks danger to get there in the night, even taxi didn't want to go there when you show them hotel's card, it is very hard to find the hotel for the first time. So we had to came back to the hotel before dark. By the way, due to the map it is located in the heart of the town. Hotel staff couldn't decide very simple questions by themselfes, usually they call manager.
Staff is very friendly and helpful and they try to make the most of your stay. The hotel is very nicely decorated and rooms are very comfortable. Overall a perfect experience! I would definitely recommend this hotel!! Breakfast is good, could be much better for a hotel of this category.
Lacation.. Far from train station and shopping areas
Staff are very helpfull and the hotel is next door to the Forbidden City The room is less than fair size and what bother me the most is the persistence of the musty smell
very able & helpful staff
Location Noisy street, workers start at 5 A.M. even on Sundays.
The hotel rooms were quite comfortable, clean and had a nice window view. The bathroom was also spacious and well designed. The front desk staff spoke relatively good English although there were times we could not really understand some of them. But overall, quite good. Just because the hotel was located near the Palace Museum, we thought we got a real good location. However, it was quite far from the subway. Although there were bus stops nearby, we didnt really know what routes they used. Overall, this is the biggest disadvantage of the Shatan.
It is an interesting hotel close to the Beihai Park. The street however is difficult to be found by taxi drivers and the close environment is not very clean with to many low quality boutiques. The fact that the current and the warm water were cut for 10 hours in day time though I paid fully comfort.
Staff was very healpful, and the location was great.
I was delighted to stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, in the Beijing downtown, close to the Forbidden City and Jigshan Park. The staff is very friendly, they also speak an acceptable english. Breakfast was also excellent at low price (compared to european hotels), I missed only some diary products. I recommend this hotel to everyone who want to visit Beijing at a budget price.
Perfect location, right in local neighbourhood but also very close to the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). The receptionist was not helpful.
I didn't like this hotel. The place is convenient for the forbidden city, and the price is low.
I was very satisfied. The room was quiet, it had free high speed wireless internet (which I used a lot when I was in my room), it had a television, and it was very very clean, and had everything nice about it. Also, the hotel was in a centralized location where one could easily reach places like Tiananment Square and other great Chinese sites.
I highly recommed Hotel Kapok. However, it didn't seem to be very kid friendly.
I dont think you can get a hotel that is closer to the Forbidden City (eight-minute walk to the main cashier) as well as the main shopping strip, Wangfujing (same distance). Located in a nevertheless quiet side street. Two 24h convenience stores within 100 yards from entrance so you can save on expensive mini-bar stuff. Also two ATMs nearby, one from a Chinese bank (directly adjacent to the hotel, worked fine with my US-issued debit card) and a Citibank ATM on the street corner west of the hotel (located inside a restaurant lobby). A hotel with a post-modernist façade and an interior design that makes for an interesting cross-breed between IKEA and Feng Shui. Built around a mini-courtyard, but I think all rooms are either facing the street or the backstreets. Interesting features like a movie theatre adjacent to the lobby and a small library (Chinese books only). Bed a little hard. There is no real working area in your room, just a console to put your computer on and a simple stool...
This place is stylish and the staff are very helpful and smile lots. The Fashion Room is a great value and while it's only 30 sq meters, it's has hardwood floors, flat screen tvs, sound proofed walls, a refrigerator, good closets, and a stylish bathroom. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the front street and it is more quiet than you would imagine. Sometime though in the morning you can here car horns but you will wake up early anyway to get on with seeing Beijing. The bed was a little hard but we asked for an extra featherbed and all was well. Loved the colors, design, and cleanliness. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Really close to the Forbidden City and Tianamen and Wangfuging - super centrally located. We would stay here again.
My sister and I only had a long weekend to explore Beijing and touch the great wall of China. We couldn't have picked a better hotel. It was affordable, great breakfast included in the price, the staff was wonderful and we would recommend this hotel to anyone. The night market is right around the corner with lots of fun, we went every night. The Staff bent over backwards to make us comfortable.
Hotel Kapok Beijing was a very comfortable hotel for a first time traveler to China. It is within easy walking distance to the Fobidden City and Tienamen Square. The English-speaking front desk staff helped arrange transportation for non-native speakers - a VERY IMPORTANT detail as most of the Beijingers do not understand English. The tree shaded streets on the way to the Forbidden City gave glimpses of the hutong (inner courtyard) lives of the Beijing people. Withing a half of a block from the hotel are several restaurants with excellent local cuisine and the hotel restaurant was excellent as well. Tours to other attractions could be arranged through a tourist office in the lower level of the hotel. We used it to book a visit to the Great Wall. The guide was knowledgeable. The outdoor market nearby offered local delicacies and a large modern mall had a foodcourt with Western comfort food.
This is the most modern, cutting edge hotel I've stayed at. We were upgraded (at no extra charge) to a suite, which was like a nice sized, big-city studio apartment. The room had all the things you'd expect in a modern hotel (no iron, though), plus a full-sized PC with internet access, free in-room wireless, two sofas, a full-sized desk, flat screen TV, gigantic bathtub for two, and bedside lighting control for the whole ''apartment.'' The only issue was the bed, which was very firm, even with an extra mattress pad they provided. The location is great -- walking distance to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in one direction, and modern shopping malls in the other. Only one block away is one of the famous ''night markets'' where you can get scorpion on a stick! If you're in the mood for finer fare, the hotel's restaurant is excellent and has reasonable prices. The buffet breakfast was very complete, though it's a little pricey if the room price doesn't include it already (around $...
I travel for a living; so stay in a lot of hotels around the world and would rank this as one of my \nfavorites. I didn't use many of the hotel amenities, but the rooms were clean, comfortable and \nvery modern. I stayed there twice in 2 weeks--my first room was a little more expensive, but had\na computer/internet, view of some Forbidden City Buildings and a huge bathtub. Breakfast was \nthe only meal I had there, but was good and decent variety. Staff was friendly and helpful, \nbut not overly so. Location was great--easy walk to the Forbidden City, Tian an men Square,\nand subways. A boutique hotel; so smaller and a bit more personal. Would highly recommend.
Value for money. For free buffet breakfast for two, free internet access, the amount we paid, was a good price. We were also given a room on the ground floor as requested. This was based on previous guests' comments on your website to avoid getting a room on the basement. The lack of good maps scaled properly. The map we got were not scaled properly. It mislead us to think that one block on the map was actually a block but actually 3x-4x times longer. Also, it would have helped if the hotel staff had ready recommendation on reasonably priced restaurants in the area that serve peking duck. That is one thing my son and I were not able to try. On the first night, we were sent to a 0 star restaurant across the street. The food and service was bad, we were charged 50yuan for a pot of tea, and we paid for the lousy food that cost us more than what the hotel charged for buffet lunch for two. I suggested to the the hotel staff never to recommend that restaurant to their guests again.
The location is perfect. The proce is very good. The building is very new, with modern interior and facilities. The staff is not very friendly or efficient, English knowledge of the majotiry of people is below the minimum necessary for simple communication. The restaurant is overpriced and serves bad-quality food. The breakfast, however, was OK.
The staff were very friendly and could speak English very very well No
Perfect Place for sightseeing, nice room, breakfast fine.... Top rated for sightseeing near Forbiodden City.
The location. 1. Better english at the reception. 2. At the check in the recptionist were talking to 3 guests at the same time, which delayed our check in. 3. We missed a refridgerator in the room.
nice pertsonnel, good facilities, very near to metro and place Tian men Tourist infos and propositions are not complet and the organised evening at Peking Opera did not be good
The hotel is very well located, near the subway, the Forbidden City and the shopping street. However the budget room had a strange smell and the internet did not work in the room. The receptionist that served us on our arrival was rude.
Friendly service and clean hotel. Food was fairly good and good value. Would return to stay again.
Food in the restaurant was poor and over priced.
Quiet and centrally located Room smelled like smoke although it's a no smoking room.
Friendly staff who spoke english fairly well. Deluxe room was very nice and clean. Location was exellent; withing walking distance from Forbidden city, Tiananmen square and Wangfujing shopping street
