Room very comfy, large and clean. family ori ented environment, nice pool, nice installations. quiet, secluded, safe, private gate, plenty of parking. Only one tv in living room, wi-fi a little weak, no activities at the hotel, no music, no breakfast specials, nothing included but the room. gym too small, hot, air conditioner not too strong. Restaurant in the facility too expensive. drinks at the bar served in plastic cup. No free shuttle to the city, about 2 miles from the main streets for shopping and eating. You need to rent a car, beware no to buy extra insurance or the price will double up. just stick to your budget, we paid $22 per day, unlimited kilometers.
The location was very convenient to the marina, restaurants, and shopping. The staff was great, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the servers and bartenders, everyone was great and friendly. Food was decent as we're the drinks.
We could not view the nice homes in the surrounding hills and see the marina from the hilltop.
The location on the marina is great. You are greeted by pushy women that try to get you to listen to a timeshare presentation. They continue to hound you the duration of the stay. Front desk staff speak good English, slow to check in, check out and provide change. Location is great. Upon checkout we were asked to pay for the pillow case that had two drops of blood from my husband's bloody nose. They held up our check out process to bring it down and show us in front of other guests! I would not recommend staying here!
Their staff was amazing!!!!!! World class service! They treated my girlfriend and I with the up most respect and courtesy. Very friendly and helpful staff, who their first intention was to cater to your every want and need. I will definitely be staying at the marina fiesta again! Loved the location and the varieties of places it had to eat and enjoy a drink. Thank you to the entire staff! Loved everything!
Great location and the restruante food was really good and accommodating. We brought fish we caught and they did a fish fry for our big group of 30+. Excellent customer service at the hotel also.
We had not been all that impressed with the Cabo area in the past, but really liked the location of this resort for easy access and views of the Marina, as well as the private ocean beach and proximity to downtown. We generally prefer the Carribean side of of the Yucatan Peninsula for the clear blue waters there, but this vacation definitely had us re-considering the Cabo area for future destinations, and especially liked the very tip for location. A very good value and experience overall! The food and service were good, and the amenities and resort overall were far better than average, but I would not say necessarily upscale.
Scenery No ocean access
The staff was super friendly, the facilities have a lot to offer and the location was great. The shower could have been a little cleaner. The room we stayed in was one of the older not newly renovated. Our friends were in a newer room and it was gorgeous.
Great location. Something was stolen from our room twice. We kept seeing roaches in the room. The beds are too firm. You can hear all conversations in the hallway.
Nothing They overcharged me and the food was awful. You cant go in the ocean yet its advertised as a beach resort
the location was good. the resort itself is pretty and clean the staff is nice the rooms are very bad design. they look very old. way to expensive for what they offer food wasn't that great either very limited number of restaurant room service is not good
The people working there were great. Nothing
Great value for the resort. Staff was knowledgeable and attentive, location was excellent. I couldn't swim in the pacific but that's nature, not the resort
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was walking distance to the Marina. The Cupcake cafe was great for the morning coffee. The rooms needs updating. The food was average.
Loved the tranquility, pool staff was friendly, liked proximity to downtown. Enjoyed many pools and night club. The food was not very good. Some of the bartenders were not very friendly.
The pools and beach access were fabulous. And for an all inclusive resort, the restaurants were very very good. The staff was very disorganized and not the most pleasant. The morning we were checking out we got called/had the door knocked on 4 different times verifying that we were checking out that morning, even though we checked out 2 hours before check-out time.
Serenity Maids came in a bit late in the afternoon and only one good restaurant for an all inclusive.
The adult only hotel and the sunsets over the pacific. The 'free' shuttle has to be scheduled a day in advance. My room was dirty, smelled of mildew and the fridge did not work nor did they stock it.
The beach, pool, lush vegetation and hotel design. The mexican restaurant was terrible.
Love the people and the hotel amenities Great stay, no complaints at all
This is a fantastic resort, probably the most beautiful I've ever been too. My only negative was that they tried to push timeshares on us too much. After dealing with the non stop hassling from locals outside the resort, I was hoping for a break from it once we got to the resort, only to find more schemes being thrown at us.
This was a last minute girls trip and booking and I have to say I am so happy with our choice. The hotel was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. Beach is gorgeous and kept clean. But is not recommend or swimming. Food was pricey but good. I liked the $12 shuttle to downtown area. I did not use the spa or gym but I did check them out. Very nice and well kept. Most of the staff all speak English and were very friendly. Love the purified water fountains near the ice machine. I wish there was an All-Inclusive option for us. We got a great rate on the room but the food and drinks made up for it. I also wish there was free wifi. However, can't complain we got a great rate on the room.
Loved the great pools and so close to ocean
The staff and service were amazing, this was our second year at the Sheraton and the staff remembered us from last year. The entire stay there was amazing!!! I would recommend it 110% to anyone! It would be nice to have the convenience of Jet Ski Rentals on the beach and Parasailing. The Westin in Maui has an area of the beach for this and it's convenience is great for those that want adventure without leaving the resort!
This is located in the marina right on the water. Huge 2nd floor terrace for lounging and watching the boats come in and out. Breakfast included had good selection and ready to order omelette bar. Taxi drivers still know this as "Wyndham". It's an old building, and you can feel it, but for a budget hotel it hits the mark.
The amenities and facilities Getting violated – the maid went into my suitcase and took out my wallet and took out all my cash while I was at the pool
Location, location, locstion Smell by outside bar
The location is the best part. You're right on the marina and can take a $5 water taxi to the beach. Plenty of places to eat and shop in the Marina area. The property itself is better than I expected in Mexico. Staff was very friendly and the property was clean. The pool was great. Waiter kept our glasses full. It's located 3 blocks from Cabo Wabo which is perfect since we came down for Sammy's Birthday Bash. The food options on site are all average. Everything was good but not great. The concierge was great at helping us plan a sunset sailboat cruise. It was perfect! We plan on staying here again. The food was average.
Location and cost They could not get the room type correct and then upsold us all on rooms that we already booked
Loved the included buffet breakfast. Good value. Love the location on the waterfront. The room was a little small.
Very friendly service and concierge. In a great location that is walking distance from beaches and the citylife. On the marina, so we had a wonderful view.
Friendliness of staff that helped my husband and I out. The guys at the bar at 5pm telling us that its happy hour. Concierge that confirmed all of our activities as well as rescheduling them so we can worry less about our vacation. One of the best vacation we have taken in a long time. Toilet in our room couldn't stop leaking even though we told them daily. Bees that showed up on the pankakes and fench toast for breakfast. Charging us incorrectly for the mini fridge and didn't stock the big bottles of water in the fridge toward middle of vacation
Location to marina was great Air conditioning in room could be better but that is standard for cabo san lucas
Alberto & Gustavo at the pool bar were great and treated us very well. didnt realize it was over Spring Break, lots of shwasted College kids
First day was put into a lower level room than we paid for. Room was up a narrow stairway with now 2nd way out. Big danger during a fire.
Location is excellent - you can walk in right off of the marina. Breakfast is ok. Pool area was nice. Staff is friendly and attentive plus they are very helpful in assisting you to make arrangements (for transportation, information, etc). Close to downtown area where there are lots of night clubs as well as bars and strip clubs. Lots of decent bands playing at the restaurants and bars. Also, the hotel is close to activities such as glass bottom boat tours, parasailing, jet skis, etc. You can see beautiful fish and sea lions swimming while walking along the marina. They offer a shuttle service to the airport which is cheaper than calling a cab. No washcloths in bathroom (make sure to bring your own washcloth or a wash poofy). Paid extra for wifi to use on our cell phones and it was incredibly slow. Stay was "uncomfortable" - you pretty much are forced to either hang out in your room or wonder out to the marina where you will spend money and get harassed by solicitors every 5 feet. We visited the pool area in the evening and it was not crowded at all but not sure what it is like during the day. Layout of the hotel is a little confusing - it was difficult to try to find the pool area.
The resort is beautiful, clean and has amazing views. Options are abundant with top shelf drinks and quality restaurant options. We thoroughly enjoyed time spent at the beach, and all poil options. No dislikes, but a suggestion for improvementwould be adding more night events with dancing and music throughout the common areas. The staff were very attentive and any minor issues were resolved immediately.
The hammock on the balcony was the best :) Breakfast was rather bad and otherwise the restaurant was rather expensive. Also, the rate of the room was expensive as a proper breakfast was not included and the location was bad. The water in the pool is freezing cold, which might be nice when it is sunny but not that nice for a late-evening or early-morning-swim. Also, one is not allowed to bring their own drinks/food to the pool, so if you want to drink something while relaxing and sunbathing, you will have to do it in the restaurant... The location is not one of the best (I would prefer having stayed in the center) and there was also not access to the beach. But also, there are buses that go directly on the main road in front of the hotel and the ride to the downtown is like 10 pesos.
The website confirmed our Rez but didn't actually have the room. Also charged my card that same day. Restaurant had the worst food I had eaten in cabo and I was there for 9 days.
Perfect choice for us for the one night we needed a place before checking in to our week-stay resort. Nicer than expected, very convenient location and quite charming in its way. Asked for 2nd floor room and told there were none available, although the place was half empty or more. But this was minor issue since we only stayed one night
the staff were courteous and helpful, the facilities were pretty and suited for relaxtion, or a quick trip to the tourist area.
We have stayed here before so we love the location and all the options they provide, good restaurants, nice grounds, friendly staff. This hotel is located just minutes from Cabo so it makes it easy to jump in a cab or take a water taxi to town. Didn't think our room was as nice as it was two years ago. Cleanliness was lacking a bit.
We had a room by 2 small children that woke up each night crying. Next time I will choose an adults only resort.
We stayed at Riu Palace Hotel in Cabo San Lucas This was our first experience. It was fantastic and relaxing. Clean, all inclusive feature was best . We wish if they offered true vegiterian dishes for all meals it would be further attractive
Staff, variety of food, pools, quiet location and beach Lots of cigarette butts on sand area near steps, extremely loud dj's during wedding, mold in shower caulking,
Staff, Grounds, etc No

Everyone was friendly and attentive!
I came there for a quick vacation and loved every minute of it. The room, food selections, restaurants, and resort shows were all amazing. The pool and pool activities were also a lot of fun. The rooms were very clean. I would definitely come back.
Location was great No hot water in shower, paper thin walls, and shower water pressure was not good. We only stayed 1 out of the 4 nights there. We booked another hotel.
Location is ok but a lot of traffic. There is no hot water in the showers which is fine for the run down little hotel it is but they rate themselves as a 3 star and charge $-- a day and when you have expectations of staying somewhere nice this hotel is a massive dissapointment.
Location is perfect. It is close to everything. Pool area is very nice. The cost is great! Shower was not that cleaned (there was hair in the tile) and there is no place to place your shampoo, etc) Walls in the room are not nice to the eye (too rustic) I guess room was good for what we paid, but it would be nice to make the room nicer.
Amazing views Many great restaurants within walking distance Large rooms Every person in our group had to switch rooms because the initial ones given were terrible They charge you for everything (without much notice). For example, yoga was $17 and not all that great. We paid over $400/night for a basic room so at that rate felt something should have been included.
Close to the beach, good pools, nice view and balconies. Shower water fluctuated hot then cold regularly, got haggled by the hotel right as we were checking in for a time share deal, and you could hear near by conflicting music from nearby bars.
Close to beach and within walking distance to downtown Cabo. Staff was very friendly, great rooms. Will be back. NO Free WIFI; Many restaurants and facilities near Casa Dorado had free WIFI included with their services.
The beach area needed some extra security and reserving cots in the morning was an issue.
It's clean, modern, gorgeous, welcoming, and fun. The location is absolutely perfect: far enough away to be peaceful, but close enough to walk to the party downtown or on the beach. If I could change one thing, it'd be that the people who sell their timeshares would be less assertive. But really, they take "no" for an answer and don't get in your way.
The views are spectacular. The location is excellent. The size of rooms are extremely comfortable. They charge you for absolutly everything. Be prepared to pay six dollars for complimentary Starbucks coffee, use of the qym, and wifi!
The rooms were very comfortable. Staff was excellent. Unfortunately, the location of the resort is such that they are a few tacky vendors located just in the front obscuring a good portion of the ocean front view. The associated noise can also be an issue.
Staff were great, very frinendly and helpful. The time share presentations
Everything was beautiful, the hotel, tha staff, the location, the breakfast and the most beautiful of all was pool bar.
Everything about this property and the team that make each day as relaxed as you desire, is tremendous. Numerous restaurants and a great beach on the property removes any need to ever leave, even though they are perfectly located to even more exceptional dinning like Edith's. Everyone is friendly and courteous... we have come here as a family annually for five years and each year everyone raves how it is always more improved than the year prior.
Casa Dorada is a beautiful resort. The well-appointed one bedroom suite was very spacious with a fabulous view of the pools and beach. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous, although not always well organized (ex-only one ping pong ball for the whole resort caused the ping pong table to be off limits several days when the ball got lost). The biggest drawback of Casa Dorada was the close proximity to Mangos Bar. We were unable to sleep with our door open due to how loud and annoying Mangos was, even later in the evening. Even during the day when we took a leisurely stroll along the beach the highly annoying "DJ" at Mangos was often screaming about winning free shots. Despite the fabulous hotel, I would think twice about going back to Casa Dorada with my family due to the location. If you're looking for a spring break feel all year round, the location is perfect for you.
Rooms well appointed and spacious, even studio. Beautiful pools. Walking distance to town, but not in town. Staff very courteous, and put up with my marginal Spanish. Fully stocked w/ pots, dishes, nice coffee maker etc. All rooms face pools & ocean (that we saw). Great gym. Listed in approx. order of importance: Restaurants serve almost all American cuisine - not what we want in Mexico - need to add some good / local / distinctive Mexican cuisine (not just ceviche)!! Has beach front, but surf is too strong to allow swimming, and not quite wide enough to allow laying out on beach. Lighting in room (kitchen area of studio) could be better. The piped in TV is a Canadian system, which is OK, but when you're paying top $$ for place that caters to Americans, an American TV system would be appreciated. Drink prices are a little high (though you don't go here for bargain prices :-)).
I will say that overall the hotel is beautiful, better than a lot of hotels. Compared to the other two Villas, Villa del Arco is my favorite. But this is why I give it 1 star: At first glance, its gorgeous, but for this trip it was the little things that added up. I had a stain on the cover of my blanket, the paint in the corner of the shower was peeling, and I was caught off guard by the blunt nature of the concierge telling us the Airport Taxi guy who tried to sell us on tours, was scamming us, apparently its a HUGE problem there. But the kicker, and what I could have cared less for, was the aggressive nature of the Time Share sales team (or as they called it, they well an 'Experience'). Charming as they were, they wasted 7hrs of our day, after saying no multiple times, then telling us American's have a fear mentality, then placing us in the back office saying we needed to take a survey, but sending in two more sales people - I will say I learned my lesson. After a strenuous day, we...
We stayed there last year and it was so great we booked it again for this year. The food, drinks, staff and rooms are amazing! Doing the all inclusive is the way to go. Being able to go to the other sister resorts is a bonus as well!
This condo was within walking distance of the town and very easy to take a taxi if you preferred not to walk. Grocery shopping was a little more difficult, but still within reasonable distance. The accommodations were great and the housekeeping was excellent.
Loved, loved, loved this hotel! Gorgeous grounds, great location, good food. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely return! We did the all-inclusive. The only thing I thought was weird was that mini-bar items were not included. We've stayed at the Riu Santa Fe before. Also very nice, but would probably select this hotel over that one.
We stayed at the Villa del Arco Beach Resort and Grand Spa while on our Honeymoon! The place awas BEAUTIFUL and absolutely amazing! The staff were friendly and the place was really clean! I would def recommend this place to anyone heading to Cabo. It's about a 15 minute walk to town. Very safe while walking at night or daytime! Close enough to town but you don't hear all the nose. The white sand is wonderful!!! We will def go again!!
We stayed for a week with friends in a two bedroom unit. We enjoyed fabulous views, a beautiful room, very gracious and friendly staff. The service poolside and in the restaurants was exceptional. Villa del Arco had a relaxed pace, not overly crowded, I believe it has fewer units than many of the beach front hotels, so getting a lounge by the pool is easier and less crowded. You can walk to town or take a taxi for $*US. We ate at the La Perla restaurant at the hotel. Food was excellent but it is more expensive than many of the in-town restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.
Villa del Arco is a really nice place. The suites are spacious, clean, comfortable and pretty with awesome tubs. This is not a wild, spring break place - there were families and couples but no wild teenagers. The food is decent, the hotel is on a swimmable beach with a fantastic view of the rock formations, as long as a cruise ship wasn't blocking the view. Service pool side was a little slow, but exemplary everywhere else. Got to remember to avoid the time-share jackals just outside of customs!
Do the all inclusive and pay for tips only. The people make you feel at home. They actually welcome you home. The timeshare would be a great deal if you have the $$. You don't have to sit through the presentation to get the GOLD Card for discounts just tell the concierege 'This is my 10th trip to CABO'.
I took my wife for her Birthday. The staff made her feel very special and went above and beyond our expectations. So, the sevice was great. The Room was very nice and we had a view to the Arch. The staff went out of their way to make your vacation the best it could be. We will be going back.
The hotel was very clean! We did not eat at the hotel but heard it was good. We went in jan. the weather was 75 to 80 every day. The staff will hook you up with many fun activities for the hole family. The town is only a ten minute walk down the street or you can walk the beach. When you get off the plane get your bags and find a taxi if you did not set up a shuttle service. Other hotels have sale reps trying to sell time shares in the terminal. Look out!
Liked the location which is walking distance to town. It had good pools and food. No complaints. Would stay there again.
The resort is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The food quality was good, but....if you are looking for the all inclusive experience don't look here. You have to sign a receipt for every drink you order, every lunch you eat everything. We were with a group of 20 people and waited sometimes up to 30mn for a drink order to be filled, the servers were all very friendly but very slow... same with dinner - we ate late each night and it usually took an hour or more to get your food.
Great hotel. Everyone bagged on the buffet food but as far as eating at a buffet for 5 days goes, it was great. Overall can't even tell the hurricane hit. Next time we go to cabo well be stayin here
Overall it's a great resort. There was a variety of food and alcohol available all day. Lots of pools. Even though it seemed the resort was full there was always a place to go that was more or so private. Staff is welcoming and works hard to please. It's a large facility and unless you have a good excuse to leave into town you really don't need to. We rented a car and drove all over the place but we were always looking forward to coming home to our safe gated palace by the end of the day. The frat boys and sorority girls running around inebriated adds to the entertainment but can get old. It doesn't last long though seeing as after about 20min of drinking they can't handle their liquor anymore and seem to disappear for the rest of the night.(maybe somewhere into the toilet). Overall no one bothered anyone and was always friendly. I never heard or saw any fights. In Mexico people seem to want a tip just for saying hello to you. So choose wisely don't be afraid to look cheap. Yea they're poor but so are you Wink wink. Blow and Mary J are abundant. Not in the resort itself but surrounding beaches. Up to you if that's good or bad. Tons of pos timeshare cockroaches. Stomp them out and kill them before they get to you. The resort will actually give you a lecture on how to avoid them, so listen closely.. Unless you like throwing your money away for the next 15-30years on something you prob will never use up to you. Overall nothing bad to say about the resort itself. It's guarded and gated and that is for a reason. Enjoy.
The staff at Riu Sante Fe was amazing and the property was very large with lots of space and swimming pools and restaurants. Overall the buffet food was good with lots of selection but the liquors are pretty standard, low quality with no selection of beer other than dos equis. Lots of bars and places to drink though The food was mediocre, the buffet seemed to have the most selections and the dining restaurants were ok - steakhouse has a great view if you can get in early to see the sunset.
Middle-aged group that stayed here and would go back. Don't be fooled by the bad reviews! It's in good shape, but beds & clenliness are my only complaint for the money we paid. Good is ok at the buffet. But the restruants are great. Steakhouse is the BEST!
We really liked the variety of pools to choose from and the daily entertainment. The Wi-Fi was not good and having to pay for the fitness center.
The views were nice The staff was just okay, the cleanliness was not on point.
Check-in was quick and painless, and included a free upgrade to a master suite in Building P right by the ocean (thanks!). Pool waiters were prompt and attentive with fantastic drinks and courteous service. My room was clean and quiet (YES!) and the bed was comfortable. I was staying solo but traveling with a large wedding group, and they took exceptional care of us all. WiFi worked. The wedding setup and service was exceptional. Mauricio took care of our group all day at the pool and during the wedding dinner. Great service! This has been my preferred Cabo resort for years, and it lived up to my high expectations yet again. This was trip #13 to Cabo for me, and it's one of my best trips yet. I was unable to secure a late checkout, which made my last day less smooth and relaxing than I'd like. Small courtesy suites for early arrivals and late departures would be ideal (other resorts in the area do offer them).
Staff at The Ridge had a very bad attitude and we're not very friendly.
Good service and beautiful accommodations. You cannot swim in the beach and there was only one restaurant open during our stay.
Pools were clean and large. Food was excellent. Pullout couch was terrible. Buffet breakfast was good, but too expensive.
Environment, friendly (and funny) staff, clean, well-kept and maintained, views etc. Nitpicking: - WiFi: not courtesy and inconsistent - Gym: not free for non-all inclusive guests
We loved the resort and grounds especially at night. It is so beautiful and relaxing. We also liked how the pools were situated and the different options for pools. We loved the wait staff. We really liked the location. It made everything easily accessible, and we were really able to enjoy Cabo. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I didn't like the attitude I received from the woman that was to welcome us to the hotel but was really trying to get us to a timeshare presentation. First of all, we know the game that is played, which is they tell you it is something else, but that is what it ends up being. Why should I be given attitude for my preferences? I chose to spend 9 days there and spend our money there, but it didn't seem appreciated when I checked in..Secondly, we asked about renting a car twice while I was there. First time, the girl seemed disinterested in explaining and gave us a rate sheet to look at. Second time, the Concierge said someone would call us back in few minutes but never did.
Playa Grande is an amazing hotel with so many luxuries. Great food, staff and atmosphere and we'll definitely be back. Gym, mini golf and wifi fees seem unnecessary.
Great service. Great pools/hot tubs. Room was very comfortable. The fitness center was only free for room owners & timeshare owners. I didn't want to have to pay to use the fitness center. Also, the wifi would only work on the right side of the room (the side facing the pool/restaurant).
Architecture Great service Nice view
The resort is pristine and really luxurious. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They upgraded our room for free!
This was our third time to stay there things have really gone down hill
We loved the location and the scenery . Many opportunities to participate in activities of all sorts or simply relax. We also enjoyed the opportunity to utilize the sister resort next door. We have to give a shout out to Guadalupe at the grill. He seemed to be one of the few that genuinely cared and exceeded any other at the resort!!! We really missed him on his day off ! At the moment we checked in we were politely told that our package was not all inclusive. The booking website was misleading and we had to haggle and bargain to upgrade our package to an all inclusive for a mere $870 more (their discounted rate) This hotel took no ownership for the mislead advertisement. I had previously emailed the hotel to double check my reservations and accommodations with no clear response. Tips were pushed on us and sometimes not so politely requested. We spent more on tips than we would have on food. Overall only very few staff members willing to go above and beyond to make an exceptional experience that we had hoped for.
Housekeeping ladies were incredibly friendly. Front desk check in host and bartenders were rude.
They overbooked the hotel and tried to split us apart from the wedding party we were member of, they transferred us to the adjacent hotel and promised us the all inclusive package as a nice gesture. Next day management felt the deal was too good and rescinded the offer in the middle of dinner. I spoke with Hedoc and Iliana in management only to have defensive combative conversations. They denied they gave us the offer even when I had paperwork and wristbands. I have had bad service before, I have had management make mistakes before but I have never seen such an inhospitable management team treat guests in this manner. Own up to your mistakes, take responsibility and make it right. I hate writing bad reviews, and being a restaurant owner understand how painful they are to read, but this weekend was so painful for my fiancé and I we needed to alert other travelers.
location, beach amenities, hotel staff, rooms are nice beds were uncomfortable, no free wifi, more choices for restaurants,
