Beds were comfortable Staff prompt and friendly It was dirty---floors dirty, wrappers on the floor, cereal on the floor, carpet torn in areas, pack n play had crusted food on it.
Great location! Lobby looked cute but once you stepped onto the other floors it was below average (dirty carpets, mediocre rooms, small bathrooms). Not what was expected from view on website, lobby, and location.
hotel should provide breakfast.
The location is perfect. Near all the tourist attractions. It doesn't have breakfast.
It was a fantastic hotel! While the room wasn't large, it was up to date and clean. Services were fantastic and the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again.
Location The hallways had hole in walls, tears and tons of stains in carpeting. Needs major upkeep. Only thing good is the location. Paid 15$ for fasted speed internet which was supposed to be 8mbps it closed in less Then 3mbps
decent room power outlet in bedside light (super!) Nice cleaning staff Easy access to downtown Super expensive internet Room is sort of depressing in design, decor. Somewhere someone would meet a dark fate in a Twilight zone episode.
The location was great, comfortable. Not a lot of facilities but in city and I didn't need them. Great value. Comfortable bed. Carpet completely worn in hallway. Paint peeling in bathroom. Bath floor a little sticky.
Location, Location Location and the price was better then other hotels in the area. Room was outdated, bathroom was smaller than an airplane restroom.
The location is the one you want. It's close to whatever you wanna visit at Chicago. Staff is really courteous, the room size is OK, the roof terrace is really nice. Again, this is mostly about the location which is the best in town. Nothing I actually disliked, but the hotel is in serious need of money to go through a much needed renovation. Once they do this, the price won't be the same tho.
The bed was very old and not comfortable, not hotel standard my own bed at home much better. The rooms need to be remodeled. Matres
Pleasant staff. Great location. Stained and fraying carpet in hallways. Tiny bathrooms. No amenities such as in room fridge or continental breakfast. Loud air conditioner unit.
Location on Michigan Ave is perfect, price is good Really late check in (5pm), slow elevators, noisy hallways, outdated rooms, no free wifi
The hotel is conveniently located in the city The cost of the room was very high. I was willing to pay the price but, my expectations were set high for such a small non-view room.
Bed was comfortable, room was very clean and nicely furnished. Missing some basic things like luggage rack. Hotel lobby desperately needs basic amenities like a chilled water dispenser (coffee is nice but it's hot outside!!!)
Nothing except its location 1- Staff aren't friendly. 2- The furniture and the bed sheets are so dirty.
Location and staff ... Staff was really nice No in room coffee maker, small room, virtually no room to put your bathroom toiletries and just two tiny drawers for clothes. No vending machine anywhere. View of brick wall. A lot to give up for location. Would stay off Mag mile next time. Parking was crazy expensive. For the money we paid I expected more
Lovely hotel for great price on Michigan Ave. It's close to everything cool in Chicago. Staff was friendly, and was helpful. When I forgot my toothbrush they were able to find one for us. The rooms were clean and well put together.
Nothing. Room was really small. Room was run down. Dirty. Overpriced. Staff was not helpful when they gave us the wrong room (one even yelled at us).
It was very loud; lots of LED lights that you had to creatively cover; and staff gives conflicting information about the no housekeeping $10 credit.
Raoul and the other breakfast servers were excellent The carpet in my room1504 seemed old and dirty
This hotel is very centrally located to many Chicago sites and attractions. A cool building, staff and accommodations are all excellent. I recommend this hotel. We will be back. The age of the building means that while rich in character, the quirks of the room layout and small size could bother some people.
Convenient location We were downgraded rooms and charged the same amount.
The location, cleanliness, reception service, coffee service, breakfast service, bar service with food, valet service, room service, housekeeping service and reservation service! The room size & configuration, room price did not include internet access and breakfast service! Hence, the value for money was missing in my opinion!
Really wonderful employees that made us feel welcomed and comfortable. They were very accommodating and polite.
Hotel was clean and staff was exceptionally friendly. Doorman was extremely helpful. Donut shop downstairs was delicious and convenient. The location was decent if you're willing to walk about a mile to anything you'd like to see. Room was a little small and elevator was extremely small preventing us from getting our stroller in if anyone else was in the elevator.
Great location just off the Magnificent Mile easy to get to just with everything you might need to downtown. When was nice but needed a few small maintenance items repaired other than that it was a great place to stay.
The location is excellent for whatever activity of interest in downtown Chicago. Attentive and courtesy staff
Great location with a nice hotel design. The drum bar and the bakery were nice perks. Its an older building and that is very obvious. The AC is questionable, the elevators are small and take quite a while, and if you want normal pillows you need to request them.
Location! Comfortable rooms. Rooftop bar is a nice place to hang out (aside from pricey drinks). Small elevator. The bathroom layout was weird, the shower stall was only half covered by glass, and the other half completely open. This combined with the shower head placement meant that the bathroom was completely soaked after anyone showered.
Great location and value...staff was fantastic, reacted to every need we had with a positive attitude and were very timely. nothing...we don't spend a lot of time in a hotel when we travel...met our needs perfectly
Can't say a thing. I travel quite a bit every year and stay in dozens of hotels. I must say this was the worst experience at a hotel I have ever had. I would never suggest this place to anyone.
This is a Kayak review- not a hotel review. I booked my travel a week in advance and with 2 days notice I received a call that I no longer had a reservation and there was nothing that could be done. It left me scrambling to find a room and I had to pay 40% more than expected because I never really had a reservation. Will never use Kayak again.
Very nice updates to room and bathroom. Comfortable bedding, drumBAR on the 18th floor, and great location. Room was extremely hot and the temp could not be adjusted. The room was also very small but worked for our 1 night stay.
Very clean. Microwave and fridge nice to have. Close to shopping and navy pier Self park was really valet parking down the street.
The most thing I like here is the location, which is very convenience. Also, their front desk service is good~ I'm not satisfied with its room service, I ordered hot milk and they sent me the cold milk. Besides, the price of their room service is not worth from my view. So, just don't make room service, or you will be disappointed with its bad taste and unbelievable bill.
I really enjoyed how close it was to everything. The employees were very helpful. I wish the price of the room included breakfast. There wasn't even complimentary coffee offered in the lobby. I had to pay $2.50. There was a coffee maker in the room but it just isn't the same. Get rid of the coffee makers and have pots of fresh coffee available in the lobby.
Location, location, location! A great hotel for a short break in Chicago -it's very close to Michigan Avenue (1 block) as well as restaurants, bars and nightlife. A really great all round hotel. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it! Nothing too bad. Just to be aware that it's under renovation, so the facade isn't as attractive as you would expect. But don't be put off, the rooms are beautiful and luxurious with all mod cons.
Location Loud, 1st night people shouting 2:30 am in the corridor, 2nd night wake up service in person knocking the doors, once no refill of coffee pads, never replacement of bottles in the bathroom (shampoo etc), before check out I wanted to get ready for my long trip back, but the room service had started cleaning and I found everything misplaced, the bathroom under water, cups on the carpet, no apoligies
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful clean rooms. A sense of safety and security.
Close to great retail stores No dislikes
The staff was excellent and very helpful.
The room was clean and extremely comfortable with a modern decor that I like. The location is fantastic. None
The staff was terrific and our room, the only renovated one so far, was ideal. NA
Location was excellent. Rooms were modern and comfortable. Noise from the ambulances and construction. Crappy attitude from bar staff on balcony.
When I had a problem with the professionality of one of the staff members, the General Manager took action fast and worked a satisfying solution to the problem. The only thing I didn't care for about this Hotel is that it did not offer a shuttle to the airport or my convention.
We arrived and there was no parking available and the hot water didn't seem to get any warmer than room temperature.
clean, comfortable,good service.
Toilet flush was EXTREMELY loud. And we could hear the toilets from other rooms as well.
Very nice Hotel with a great staff. Valet service was good, bell service was good, front desk service was great. Restuarant was average, parking was expensive.
Beautiful views from the pool & workout areas. Room was very comfortable. Nice location. No jacuzzi. The sauna was nailed shut.
Charles Nancy was very rude and put out by helping me. Also, our keys did not work twice and the cost of the room service is quite ridiculous....$7.00 for dry cereal, plus 18% gratuity pluse $2.50 delivery?! Maybe if the staff was friendly and the service was better, but no way would I ever pay that for a bowl of corn flakes.
The facilities are good. The location is excellent. The parking is outrageous. $66/day but I think that's Chicago. One of the hotel staff was a bit rude, but the others more than made up for his behavior.
Basic Internet was kind of hit or miss on access and performance
Spacious, very well equiped suites with fridges, microwaves and two TV's - very handy when the World Cup clashes with Wimbledon. All furnishings and fabrics in rooms are of the highest quality. Almost all the staff were very friendly, extremely polite and most helpful. Great location for the Chicago tourist. Swimming Pool needs a refurb, now looking dated and tired. Air-con in gym and workout rooms not working therefore uncomfortably hot. Internet connections in Rooms too slow and no weekly rate for using the facility.
Liked everything about it! Amazing location, nice facilities, and friendly staff.
Clean and comfortable, loved the location, safety, suite was roomy for our two or could accomodate three easily.
Stayed here Dec 12-14, 2014, this was our 2nd time staying here due to close proximity to Navy Pier's Winter Wonderland. Last year the Manager's reception offered better appetizers, seemed to be a bit cheaper this year. Staff is wonderful and room was really clean. We had an issue with the thermostat, it was almost 80 degrees the whole stay. The kids love it here, it's really family oriented. They seemed to like swimming in the pool better than Winter Wonderland, they made several little friends during our short stay. Will probably be back next year, we love it here.
Friendly staff and clean facility No complaints
Great location and comfortable rooms; breakfast was an awesome surprise in variety and quality Room service was slow, rooms not super clean and could definitely do without the lobby dance music during the day when kids were napping
Nice hotel, casual and comfortable. Great breakfast. Very convenient to Navy Pier. Would definitely reccomend to friends and would stay here again.
Staff was very helpful and we were able to get a later checkout upon our departure, which was nice and allowed to kids to swim for a bit before we left. Check in and out was easy, and parking was easily accessible. The price on the all inclusive Disney kids on Demand TV package I order did not reflect what was charged to my bill. It was only a difference of $2.99 and ultimately not a big deal, but still, I feel as though you should be paying what you are quoted. Also, being that it was a holiday weekend, it would have been nice if breakfast was open until 10 as it is on the weekends, but I get the weekend vs. weekend schedule. The lines were a bit long by the end of breakfast and early breakfast is always hard to do with my kids. But again, not a huge deal in the whole scheme of things. We will definitely be back.
Located close to shopping and conference centers Amenities are average
Not convient. Poor service
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Enjoyed happy hour each night.
Very good location Hotel wasn't nearly as nice as other embassy suites I have stayed at.
Very convenient location, walking distance from the Magnificient Mile, the Wrigley Building, and Millenium Park. Many restaurants nearby, and bagel/coffee shop near the hotel lobby. Nice outdoor pool. No free internet in the room. Noise from repairs (drilling) in neighboring room(s) every morning (weekdays).
The pool Big yellow stain on carpet Bathroom light wouldn't stay on and flickered the whole time Wasn't able to get ready in bathroom and made showering very interesting to say the least We would have changed rooms but we were running late to my birthday plans Complained in the am and they said they could do nothing bc I didn't book they them directly. I was very upset how the manager handled the situation We spent $240 on a one night stay for my birthday and cookies were offered but with attitude
The wait time for an elevator was excessive at 9:30AM Sunday morning. I was on the 6th floor waiting to go down to the Lobby. 6 cars stopped, all full, over the span of 10 minutes. I finally got on a car that had an open spot, but was going up, and then rode it down - meanwhile the car stopped on 7 other floors. It seems to me a more "fair" algorithim could be employed to have an elevator car stop for someone on the 6th floor. If it weren't for the amount of luggage I had to carry, I would of course taken the stairs.
Seems there were some residents on my floor - sounded like families that did not have a home. They were noisy, loud, baby crying and unattended, See above.
We couldn't get HHonors points at all because we booked through Kayak.
We loved our stay at the doubletree, complimentary cookies and the front desk, the bed was lovely and the location is great, only few blocks from the magnificent mile. My husband woke up at night due to the outside street noise (cars&sirens) I personally did not hear it. I guess it depends how light of a sleeper someone is.
Went up to Chicago to catch a craft beer festival. The hotel was very accommodating, helping us take our many, many, manyou cases of beer and two tiny bags of luggage to our room. With the convenience of in and out parking and even providing plates when our pizza was delivered made our short stay amazing. Would definitely stay here again City garage parking is sooooooooo expensive!
Clean, helpful staff, good location and overall value. I wouldn't say it's old, but some of the decor and appointments are outdated.
This hotel has an amazing location being just a couple of blocks away from Michigan Ave and being on the lake side near Navy Pier. Having a WholeFoods kitty corner to the hotel was quite handy. The hotel staff was incredibly nice and attentive. They do an excellent job of keeping the place clean. We had such a wonderful time that we decided to stay an extra night. Not having a mini fridge in the room was a little inconvenient.
Stayed one night and paid $76.00 dollars to park
location, price are great room was very comfortable, but not as clean as we would expect, in fact cleanliness was our only "ding".
Parking is $55 per day
very friendly, super clean, nice location $50 a night parking
Me & my friend had the pleasure of staying at your hotel for a long weekend getaway. From check in to check out your staff & facilities were very pleasant & accommodating. I just want to point out that the bar staff, Brian & Izzy went above & beyond to make us feel welcome! Once again, a big thank you to the AC Marriott for doing a great job!
Great location, comfortable beds, fridge in room. Service was good. Not overly comfortable, very minimalistic, breakfast was mostly cured meats, cheeses, cereals, and fruits (no eggs, oatmeal, etc), room felt a bit cold and sterile for our style.
Great neighborhood. Felt safe walking around. Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Loads to do within walking distance. The cabbies didn't seem to know where the hotel was. They tried to drop us at the Marriott which was a block away.
The location of the James is ideal for visiting the River North area. The room is clean, reasonable size, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Even on the 17th floor, there was a lot of street noise. We could even hear the saxophone player at the corner of Rush and Ohio! We also had a charge for the room honor bar that was added to our bill even though we did not use it. Watch your receipts!
The location is great. Just a block off of Mag Mile if you are there to shop. Trader Joe's across the street if you want to buy snacks/water for the room. Close/walkable to downtown (Loop) and River North neighborhoods. The staff was great and my wife loved the bathroom products (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) THIS HOTEL IS NOT 5 STAR. Kayak has it listed as 5 star and it is not. Closets are very small...only a couple of feet wide. Not a lot of drawer space. If traveling on business, not easy to work in room.
First. Stay there and was given a free upgrade
The art collection was great. The noise traveled into the rooms from the hallways. It was very easy to hear my neighbors going in & out of their rooms in the morning.
The hotel was luxurious, however there was a problem with the room card/key it didn't work on 3 different occasions, I had to get help from the concierge. I missed the deadline for reserving a room at an advantageous rate for the Spak/Schechner wedding and paid a lot of money to Hotwire for my room. No deal with them... I did have a delux room though and would recommend this hotel to those who can afford it. I inquired about the use of a swimming pool at the hotel and the desk folks told me I could use the pool at the Sheraton across the street. Wonderful! I did and felt relaxed and refreshed after my swim. The card/room key didn't work on 3 different occasions.
friendly and convenient ,
Great location. All the staff friendly efficient nothing too much trouble . Room spaceous and clean. The best hotel we've stayed in.EXCELLENT. Would definately stay again.
Staying at the James in Chicago was a real pleasure. It is a very nice hotel to come home after a long day.
we were delightfully surprised to find that the hotel had a free "shuttle" when we were headed out for dinner. It really wasn't a shuttle …. more like a very nice, well dressed young man driving a nice sedan to our location. A great touch! The doorman was awesome as well. Very personable, approachable, and helpful.
I really loved/liked and grateful we were able to check in early when we arrived early in the morning after our flight. I think it's well worth it especially because we were staying only one night. For my taste, I liked the contemporary classy decor and atmosphere. The atmosphere in our room felt romantic. The king size bed and the comfort of the bed and linen was awesome for my taste. I especially liked the room my friends were staying in. They had a little movie projector room. We paid the same price but they were staying there a little bit longer than we were. But I did like their room. Staff was very friendly and informative when asked about recommendations of transportation and location of places nearby. Me personally, and just my opinion, we weren't too fond of the shampoo/conditioner and body wash scents.
great staff with helpful info.
location, room and staff room internet access was slow
I would guess that most people who gave this place a positive review have never stayed at trump. For the same price trump offers a vastly better experience and much more comfort. The gym and spa at trump make this place look like a spa from rural Cambodia. Rooms were an ever so slightly better version of the Conrad. No pillow menu. No glacier water. No espresso machine in room. No microwave or stovetop with dishwasher( all present at trump). And no cake with gold leaf on it for my birthday!!!
I've stayed at several nice hotels in Chicago and this is by far my favorite. Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, incredible A-V/home automation controls. This was the perfect home-base for a multi-day business trip. The atrium also had a splendid Sunday brunch with string quartet. Couldn't be better
Great location across from Saks and neiman marcus. Hotel gorgeous, bright, elegant in public areas, very comfortable and luxurious room and bathroom
Really enjoyed how friendly everyone was towards us especially since we were a young couple there and the staff told us good morning and everything each day and always had a smile on their face I can't really say I didn't like anything about the hotel or service. The only thing was it was a little expensive for us. Other than that everything was excellent
Beautiful room. Inpecable service
EVERYTHING, THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST AND THE BATHROOMS LARGE AND BEAUTIFULLY DONE. NICE TOUCHES EVERYWHERE! NOTHING
Great location! Room smelled like sewage. Cockroaches in bathtub. I asked for "view preferred" and was mistakenly put on the second floor.
Location was excellent Room smelt of damp; condition of room was 'well used'
It was a good location and was relativity easy to find on foot. Our TV didn't work at all, there was candy wrappers and garbage on the floor from the previous guest, the power strip that was used for the coffee maker had a broken off ground in it, clearly a safety hazard. We will not be staying here ever again.
It was cheap and employees were nice. It was dirty, smelly, and everything was old and broken down looking.
Great location and price for the night. Check in was smooth and a smoke free room was nice. happy they checked my bag for the day so I could walk Chicago without my bag. TV was broken and wouldn't turn on. Hair dryer was also broken so much so that the fan was literally rattling around the inside. Heater/air conditioning had a change filter light on which makes me wonder how long it had been since its last change. Shower was pathetic and barely came out of the showerhead. Staff wasn't rude just seemed to be entirely apathetic to guests. Don't know if this is because management is treating them poorly, but Brenda who helped me with check out seemed happier when I smiled and was friendly when I checked my bag for the day.
Walked in to someone stuck in the elevator. Pot ash in the sink. Broken heater. Then the employees totally took care of us. Can't beat price and location. The business I needed to do was very convenient. For all the haters, this is what Chicago is all about, get over yourselves. 48 per night valet, if you drive. Your not going to get street parking until Chicago blue line stop.
Just steps from Michigan Ave and the Magnificent Mile, this hotel has been my go to place when I'm in Chicago. It's not fancy for the price but it is a good value for the money. Location is key.
Great location! Chicago hotels are expensive, so a good price point Not the most elegant!
The location is fantastic. You can walk to most interesting attractions. The room was clean and everything worked (lights, A/C, shower, etc) The room was tight. Needed to take out a drawer to open the sofa bed. The staff did not clean the room for the second day. Valet Parking is expensive even though saves you from trouble.
Nothing at all Our toilet NEVER worked, overflowed, staff tried to fix, but not successful! Our remote did not work, and last night several people on our floor call the police for a domestic dispute! Would never stay or recommend this hotel
The hotel is 1 block eats of the Mag Mile and half way down the mag mile so you are right in the middle of the shopping district. It is easily the cheapest hotel in that area. All other hotels nearby are 2.5 times the price. The room is a little musty smelling and the hotel is a little outdated but it was a place to lay our heads and get some sleep.
The location is perfect for Mag Mile shopping!! The employees were very nice. The price was also very low in comparison to neighboring hotels. The room thermometer did not work. They tried to fix it and said if it didn't work we would have to switch rooms. The room was 77 and 78 degrees all day/night. The room size is very small. if you do not plan on being in your room much it is fine.
Great location Dirty bathtub, lights out in bathroom of room 541
The location was top notch in a historic building- it was pointed out during our architectural boat tour! Our room's windows were inches from a brick wall which made me feel very unsafe. No notice that it was an interior rom when we booked. In addition, we could hear the wedding reception going on below. Sure this hotel has plenty of rooms, but do you really want to chance it that you will be placed in one without a window?
Location, staff, great pool and work put facilities. We were able to walk where ever we needed to go. Architecture is beautiful. Great place to stay. Comfortable rooms, nice view. We loved our stay and will go back. Need a better coffee maker. Small microwave in room. Fridge for your own soft drinks. Mini bar was very expensive
Nice bar and restaurant in the hotel Very slow elevators, mini-bar costs were outrageous. No one wants those any more. Guests would like a frig and microwave. Cost of room was outrageous for how mediocre the rooms were. The parking is a total rip off at $67 a night.
Lack of comfortable lounge area in the bar area. Years back there was a very ample lounge area for either for couples or larger groups. Too bad they eliminated it. I am also glad the re-opened the pool early.
Location was fantastic and newly renovated older tower was lovely. Pool and health center were fantastic When we parked in the garage, no one offered to help us with our luggage. The parking fee was astronomical at $67 a night. I was charged $400 plus dollars for a mini bar that we never touched and it was obviously from another room as the names on the requests were not us. One employee said she would have to investigate and it would delay our checkout. NOT GOOD! I called the front desk again and spoke to someone else who immediately removed it
The deluxe room appearance
This hotel has a long history and floor plans are quirky but the rooms are remodeled and modern. Our room in the historic tower had a 31st floor view that happened to have windows facing 3 different directions for a 270 degree view from Michigan Avenue to Lake Michigan (I think it was the only one on the floor with that expansive view). Minibar charges when we didnt use anything is always really annoying. I would have hoped a nice hotel like the Intercontinental wouldn't have this issue.
Room was small but clean. Bathroom was nice. $65 for parking? Really?!? I guess I could have parked in a ramp nearby, but didn't want to deal with the whole schlepping the luggage back and forth the the city...
Pretty hotel with nice location Thin walls. Noisy halls. Some staff friendly but others not. Got a good deal but wouldn't pay full price for tiny room. Bathroom needs updating/ more thorough cleaning (shower curtain ripped and some mold on end of shower curtain rod)
From the moment you pull up in front of the InterContinental you know you've made a wise choice. A friendly, suited doorman opened the cab door and welcomed us into the beautiful lobby decorated with a 4-story Christmas tree. We checked in and an exceptionally friendly clerk, Mariana, made sure we were given a quiet corner room, per our request. Our room was clean, spacious, and newly renovated - but not overdone. The wi-fi was fast, the bathroom toiletries lovely, and the room was quiet. Stop and see the pool -- it is the original, and its gorgeous. How often do you see chandeliers over a swimming pool that once boasted Esther Williams as a swimmer? Best of all, the location. Between Ontario Street and the Chicago Tribune, right before the river -- perfect! When we stepped off the elevator the rug was worn and shabby. This was our only complaint about the decor.
location need sound proof windows,,,,could hear sirens all night
Everything!!!! Cost of parking.
Location Old, small rooms, poor plumbing. It's an embarrassment for Marriot. Don't stay here
The best part is that the Merriot is in the "heart of the city". Offsite parking.
Please get Keurig coffee pots in each room
I arrived 2am and there was no reservation and the company never told me there was a problem with my card. Spend until 4am getting another reservation for next day and then arrived and there was no reservation again. They ruined my entire business trip. had to spend half day looking for another hotel. The first night Marriott accommodated me in a room that was not what I expected. At least had a place to sleep. They were kind and very helpful, but the room I got was not what I expected. But It wasn't hotel's fault was getaroom.com fault.
Great newly updated rooms and incredible gym that puts many Health Clubs to shame. Room Svc leaves a bit to be desired but luckily they're located in great proximity to many great restaurants.
Great location, great staff No fridge or microwave
It is such a big hotel I found it chaotic especially with several different events going on. Crowds of people, lots of noise. Just too big a apace for me!
The view from the room was very good The staff was excellent. The place had a very modern feel and look. The bed was very comfortable I would go back. The room did not have enough outlets. The room was small for the cost.
Location and decent sized, clean rooms. We booked day of stay and got a good rate. I would actually rate it a 3.5, but I didn't have that option. Extremely uncomfortable, stiff sheets.
Full size mattresses sold as queen size
This hotel is exactly what you'd expect from a stay in Downtown Chicago. Imposing structure, bustling atmosphere, and lofty prices. The central location couldn't be beat and the view provides you a look at the city no matter which direction you face. Room was clean and modern. After some initial difficulties, a new room was provided and sorted out with a credit to be used with breakfast (delicious breakfast, but expect to be charged the Chicago price for it). The price for staying directly on the Magnificent Mile shouldn't be surprising. The lobby was constantly occupied and persistently loud, which also is indicative of a stay in Chicago. The initial room assignment seemed to belong to another individual as there appeared to be clothing in the closet and a suitcase laid out when the door upon a very brief inspection from the cracked door. After informing the front desk, a new room was quickly assigned...but only one of the two keys ended up working. After our final trip to the front desk, we were in better shape and the breakfast the next day was delicious. The room was by no means spacious, but exactly in what you'd expect from Chicago standards. Don't forget you'll be paying for parking, which is at least simplified by the ability to charge to your room.
The staff was very helpful and freindly. The room was clean and very nice located near a lot of shopping. Our stay was very enjoyable and we will stay here again soon.
Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Courteous and friendly staff. Location is excellent for shopping. I definitely would return to stay again.
Service was amazing. Location was awesome!
Close to shops at magnificent mile Pool was small and not kid friendly. A 16oz pop was $4 plus tax at hotel store
The accomodations were comfortable, the hotel beautiful, the location convenient, the staff extremely knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. Not really. A common suggestion that I have is in relation to the lights at the nightstand. Most places I've stayed, including this hotel, have both lights for double beds in between them. It would be better to have a light on the far side of the bed so the guest sleeping in the other bed is not disturbed by the late-night reader (me!).
The people at Wyndham were so helpful making sure everything was perfect for us! No.
The location was within walking distance to Everything. The hotel was very comfortable.
Brenda served us for breakfast most days. She was a the best. Always attentive friendly. Took care of us well. Our last day we had a different waitress and our order wasn't right, we couldn't get her attention and had to get a manager in order to get our check. When you go for breakfast in the fabulous restaurant, ask for Brenda. Loved the green drink with Apple, spinach and ginger. It was really good.
I liked it all
The air conditioning. Our room was not ready at check-in. The bed skirt was torn and stained. The in-room movie played very poorly. The staff was unfriendly.
Bed was comfortable Everything was good
Staff here was incredibly friendly and always willing to help out with anything I needed! Free wifi and continental breakfast. Decent workout facility! You can't get all of that anywhere else for this price in this neighborhood!!! Rooms are small, but go out in the city and stop sitting in your hotel room.
Price No frills experience and bedroom without a desk.
Hotel was great, good price and great location. I ordered/paid for a double room in advance. Showed up to the hotel and they put us in a single. After disputing at the front desk the hotel said we did not order a double. I showed them the print out showing what I ordered and they said the order they received (I assume from Kayak) did not state that we paid for a double. We were lucky that they had a double available and they honored my documentation. Close call.
I thought the hotel was great, very friendly staff and rooms were clean. I needed to be close to the Water Tower area for my conference and it was the closest in my price range. I would definitely stay again. You can hear everything out in the hall way, but honestly it's not a super big deal.
Friendly staff, clean room, excellent hot breakfast. Worth the money. Centrally located.
Staff, location, breakfast Having to go up the stairs with my luggage to get checked in, helpful staff was there, but was very busy with other guests and I was cold, tired, and it was late.
There was friendly staff and it is very close to some great food and shopping. Our room smelled like smoke and during the night of you turned up the fan it smelled a lot stronger, almost as if the last person had smoked a lot. Also we had a very small room. I get that we booked through a travel website and not straight from the hotel so somewhat smaller rooms are expected, but this room was tiny, especially for what we paid.
