Good location in relatively quiet piazza, easy walking distance to main sights in Florence. Also close to train and bus station for excursions.
Fabulous location and very pleasant staff. Would return any time.
Location and good mountain view from suite. Great breakfast. Not particularly clean and the folding beds in the suite not comfortable. Staff were professional but not particularly engaging however.
central location, excellent pool area, very good breakfast, nice staff jacuzzi in bath didn't work; no shower curtain, so bathroom got flooded when we had showers; piazza outside is being refurbished, so it is a bit run down at present
the pool was vert useful as it was so warm. there was a building site outside the hotel which we did not know about it.
Convenient location, helpful staff. Good roof pool area with nice view. Room smaller than expected (for a superior double). Work was also taking place in the square meaning the church was covered in tarpaulin and some access roads were closed making it awkward to drive to - also car valet parking service was expensive and we didn't know where vehicle was stored.
The beds were very comfortable with wonderful linen. The room was spacious and clean. There was a strange smell outside the hotel.
Location, quality, service, rooms
Breakfast was included No extra charges, service charge and taxes -a true plus Construction in front of the hotel
The Grand Hotel Minerva is in an excellent position for touring in Florence. Close to the Duomo, shops and restaurants. For the price charged over a weekend, breakfast should have been included.
Ideally located, within walking distance from the various places of interest, including cathedrals, shopping district, dinning, bus & train terminals.
Great location, great pool, great bar, great breakfast. Rooms were not sound proofed and we could hear quiet music next door and everything in the hallway. The beds also rolled far too easily and we're constantly shifting
It's cenral location and upmarket clientele Rooms too small and the complementary coffee making facilities need to be asked for. Breakfast too basic.
Very nice rooms, good breakfast, central location (by foot less than 15 minutes to the dome), private parking,... There is no guarantee for the parking, so it might be that it is full and the private garages are very expensive…
hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. It states they serve American breakfast, unfortunately this is not what I would describe as American breakfast having travelled many times to the USA. I asked for fried eggs, sunny side up as served in USA to be told that would be an extra charge. No choice of eggs only scrambled supplied. No mushrooms or hash browns etc.Dissappointed as this was not what you would expect. The continental breakfast was good.
I enjoyed the convinience of the hotels location and the easily accesible parking area. During our visit the air conditioning was not turned on and the rooms were very hot, and when we inquired about it, the staff told us to open the windows.
The rooms and the hotel staff are very friendly, and its close to the center of Florence.
Excellent room, reliable air conditioning, all facilities new and fresh. Checking in easy, lots of dining choices in neighborhood--and easy access to key Florence sites.
excellent position to centrum and very good parking very complicated and expensivve internet service
Not bad. While it is not a designer hotel, it is still good value for a hotel close to train station and major tourist site. We had a triple room which was spacious enough for three adults. Room clean, breakfast average. Shower is a bit small.
Good position, good rooms and a nice breakfast. I would expect to have the free wifi/cable internet access in the room package
Centrally located, easy to walk all over the downtown area. The employees were very friendly and helpful, and the view from the restaurant during breakfast was outstanding!
I was t Baglioni Hotel for the Florence marathon. I have apprreciated everything, the location, distance to the train station and to the city center (Piazza del Duomo is only 5min walking). Breakfast, very good selection of food, is at the 5th floor with amazing view of the Duomo and Giotto campanile. Staff was gentle and helpul and let me use the room until 2pm (after the race) without charging the extra time (usual check out is 12). great stay, Thank you
The rooftop garden restaraunt panoramic view is breathe taking! the food was delicious pricey but well worth every bite. The service was very classy, polite, attentive and friendly the staff made me and my two daughters feel very special. The waiter brought my daughter a shawl when he saw that she was cold and offered us one as well. Our room had a window with a view for people watching, the maid kept our room very clean, every evening when we arrived back from a long day our beds would be turned down waiting for us. The location of the hotel was perfect every thing in walking distance. Doormen and bell hops very friendly and courtesy. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and accommodate us with a bigger room when we revealed to him that our room was too small for 3 girls. We were hoping to see him again next day to thank him but we never saw him again. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious! Lots of food even at 945! i love the historical story of the hotel and old pictures of the hotel in the past. The antique furniture, history, and decor can only be appreciated by historical buffs. A historical beauty! Some of the front desk staff were snooty and not very welcoming. The first gentleman we met was friendly we saw him only once out of the six days we were there. When I did ask questions front desk staff very short and make you feel like you are troubling them. The first room #145 was way to small for a mom and two teenage girls. I had adapters for my phone and the only one it would fit in was the bathroom. The Internet is very weak (which I knew coming in seems to be # 1 complaint). When you first walk thru revolving doors there is a woman sitting at a table not sure if she is with hotel however she is not very welcoming she is first person you see and she does not smile or say hello she does not make eye contact she is setting the tone and it is not good, smile say Bon Journo!
Location and interior of the hotel lobby and rooms. Internet connection available (for a fee). Room felt outdated - maybe as in all old 4/5-star hotels in Italy.
The location cannot be beat. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was awesome. And the staff were friendly. The only drawback was that the walls are too thin and you can hear a lot of what goes on in the room next door.
Very nice hotel . Old but when you walk in a room looks totally different . White tiles in bathrooms and all very clean and good quality with and charm . Beds a little hard but dig. Great quite rooms looking over inside gurden. Restaurant overlooking all Florance at breakfast and also for dinner with many outside tables . Stuff very friendly and helpful , concierge knows their stuff , ask for their suggesting if you need to travel around. Everything
I have been travelling in Italy for 2 months and this hotel is the best. The position is perfect, the view sensational. Rooms comfy and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and efficient and are smiling which is rare in customer service in Italy. The restaurant has a wonderful view of Florence, the ambiance and service from the staff are great. A very comfortable and ejoyable stay..10 from me
The hotel is situated in a good shopping and sight-seeing district and is very beautiful. The floors in the room were beautiful but very slippery.
The beds were extremely hard.
A world-class hotel. Staff excude hospitality, the hotel is grand in its design. Rooms have a 19th century ambience, and 21st century appliances. In its excellent location, the hotel leaves nothing to ask for. I would not have minded a simple plastic comb as part of the bathroom accessories.
The hotel is right in front of the train station and in walking didtance of the shopping and sites. Staff very friendly and nice The rooms are quite old and kind of a musty smell
It is close to railroad station and downtown. Staff are proffessional and rooms are clean. We used two rooms. Very nice hotel. None
Buffet breakfast was great Staff made it feel like we were bothering them anytime we asked for their help.
Helpful, friendly staff.
Cleanliness and comfort
Location was excellent.
The central location, virtually adjacent to SMN, coupled with the extremely good value for money.
the room is white colour. shower room is so small.
Clean, good location Attitude of staff
The view from our top floor room with terrace was quite nice - staff not welcoming and with -bad- attitude - beds too hard - rooms too hot (no AC in winter) - breakfast buffet stocked with non-natural (colorant/preservative/high fructose containing) foods
good location, easy to find, good staff, nice decoration, nice bathroom only cable internet but no wifi in rooms, breads are not fresh in the breakfast, the double room is not with a double bed but two sigle beds put together
The breakfast is excellent except the same food during all the stay. Internet is bad. very slow and not accessible
It was close to everything and we could walk to attractions, food and train.
A walking distance (appx. 6-8 mins) to Florence central station, convenient for travellers. The rome facilities are quite old and the shower room is very small.
Right opposite the train and bus station so,if one is travelling from pisa, like we did, once there you don't have to worry about how to get to the hotel.Beside it's close to the centre and the river Arno.Very comfortable beds. We did not like the hot breakfast but the rest is ok.Initially i did not like the interior as it's a bit old and i was expecting a nicer room like the one shown in the pictures when making our booking, but then i got used to it.
The hotel has a great location but that's about it. The room I was given was #400 and the only nice part was the bathroom as it looked new. Tint room and very dark Hated the room but I am sure they have better rooms but wasn't given an option to select while booking
no comment. we only state for couple of hours and check out at the morning 5:00 a.m. we have 4-5 pcs big luggage but no one come to help us to handle the big luggauge when we step in the hotel, they just look at us.
The location of the hotel was superb! (Right next to the station, walking distance to sightseeing spots etc. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would love to stay there bext time I visit Florence.
The location was good. The lobby smelled bad every single day we were there. The bathroom shower leaked water all over and created a mess. It was not as nice as I expected for the price.
Good breakfast and is in a clase location to move around It is too noisy for being next to train station, my room has the windows that did not close properly and when reported they personal just had excuses and told that they were no other rooms available . Seems the motto that client never has the reason, not even a refund !
It was hard to find our room in the new wing.
A beautifully furnished, neat and simple hotel. Quiet and comfortable room with spacious bathroom.
the room is perfect, everyone should stay in this hotel when you travel to Florence.
Fantastic hotel. The room was very big and tidy. It had a wonderful view on the city.
Good service from staff, good standard of cleanliness, quiet location although nice and central.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The location is great and very quiet. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable.
I can't state how helpful this hotel staff was. From check-in to check out, they handled everything. The hotel is short on frills, but the staff alone is worth the stay. the shower - weak pressure, barely warm, took a few days to fix, but it eventually got to tepid, so good for water conservation!
I do a lot of travel, and I have to say this is a great boutique hotel , really nice atmosphere. The hotel has a nice diningroom with a great menu. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are super clean.( which is a must) . Great location.
very convenient location, lovely room, comfy bed!
we were impressed with the level of personal service that whilst very helpful was never intrusive. Perhaps one word of caution was that as our bedroom dooor opened outwards we nearly tripped over the vacuum cleaner pipe that was plugged into the wall by our room. The sort of thing that could easily give rise to a liability claim.
The location of the place and near the center and the train terminal.

A classic Italian hotel, in a quiet location yet close to the railway and bus stations, and within easy walking distance of the main city sights.
Friendly staff Bar was dead.
Comfort and location for our city trip.
The courteous staff and the facilities available. They were renovating a room above ours and the noise was too early, but this is not a criticism of the hotel itself
convenient location, able to book into room two hours early. safe did not work, bathroom window damaged
The staff - very helpful and friendly. Internet access and in good location for the station and airport transfers breakfast was good but not amazing in that some fresh fruit would have gone down so well.
free internet club / excellent breakfast We were not given good room on first night, when we demanded , our room was changed to better one.
Overall, we are very satisfied with this hotel: staff and room services are both very good, clean towels everyday, and location is excellent. This is a no thrill hotel but for toursits spending most of the time touring the city, we endorse whote heartedly. room on the small side.
From Canada, on a 3 week November trip through Italy we chose this hotel as it was right beside the train station and walking distance to major Florence sights. The rooms were quite old and basic but clean. The Internet was free and worked fine in our room. The breakfast was among the best on out trip. The toilet did not work and despite repeated requests was never fixed so we had to resort to dumping water down the bowl.
Hotel staff smooking in a office on the first floor and the office door was open at all times, the corridor was smelly. Room was noisy the whole night. The breakfast didn't included vegetables. Otherwise, good hotel.
It is close to the main railway station (Santa Maria Novella = SMN) and to pretty much everything. Don't get confused with the other stations (there are 4 or 5 in Florence). It ain't cheep, though.
The staff. The rooms were shabby and the noise level from outside was very loud.
close to train station, large rooms, helpful staff, great bus-boys at breakfast. Breakfast was good. Low water pressure. Rooms were dingy. Noisy.
the location is exellent walking distance to any where
The free Wifi, good selection at breakfast buffet, the location near the train station, and nearby supermarkets.
Location - very close to the station ane easy to find. It is clean and staffs are helpful. Free wifi is a bonus and connection is good. Breakfast is not good.
Close to city centre, good breakfast
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Perhaps breakfast could have had a bit more variety with maybe some fruit ?? But what there was was very fresh and the waiters were very friendly and efficient..
We were on our hooneymoon and were apsolutetly delighful with this hotel. We are definitely coming back next year. Thanx to teh reception manager that has fullfilled our wishes regarding the room. None, everything was great.
Room was good, location great, clean room but reception area had a bad smell. Smell in reception. The pillows were so thin and hard and there were only two and my husband and i sleep with 2 pillows each.
Location of the hotel, room of the hotel and its comfort are the major points that I liked during my stay. Interior design of the hotel is also very appreciable. Closeness to the main rail station and price were my major points while searching the hotels and both are met satisfactorily. Breakfast was also good. Balcony's outside wooden door latch was broken. We wanted to have better ventilation keeping the inside glass door opened but couldn't do so. Commode water flash was not filling fast and bath tub didn't have curtain.
Location was fine. Hotel staff ,especially one member of staff were very helpful..
Hotel Staff were terrific.
very good location within very short walking distance to both train station and the old city
Location. Hotel was very close from the cetral station. The breakfast was not that good compared to the information we had from other people's opinions.
Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Location was very convenient overall. Staff was not particularly helpful in recommending restaurants or tours - very little information given.
It is exactly next to the train station The night duty snoring officer sleeps on the sofa of the reception area !!!
close to train station poor breakfast quality
The location of the hotel was perfect. One minute from the train station, in walking distance of the town center, and there is a good restaurant a few doors down. The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice and clean.
Perfect Location ; Good Breakfast ; Great for the City Trips Because to near the train station ; noisey
Good location, servise, exelent meals ( just was problem with group, was very noisily during breakfast, very nice atmosphere. Many thanks. I do not have any complains.
The good breakfast and near to train station.
Location. Very friendly and helpful staff. An executive double room is supposed to have a good view as per hotel room descriptioms. Mine did not have that.
I booked a room with a satellite tv, however it had only 4 black and white channels. When I called reception, I was told they had a problem and so we couldn't watch tv. I complained when paying the bill but it was all in vain.
Close to the train station and very central. Staff was very helpful and the room was very comfortable and modern. Loved it.......
Got a room in the City Residence - a suites portion of the hotel. Good value Breakfast location was in a diferent hotel (connected) a long walk.
The room we were given was dark, needed lights on all the time, overlooked a dingy and noisy (half the night) back lane. The hotel was expensive for the quality of room offered. We did not think it rated four star.
Good position, Nice hotel, Fair price, but could be much more expensive A little bit noisy in the night. Windows with double glasses should be needed
Everything was perfect as always. The hotel is central to transportation and the city center which is great. No
The location is very convenient for shopping and nice restaurants nearby. In general it is a comfortable, elegant hotel. This time our room was on the first floor and we could hear the noise from outside. The particular room's bathroom had a musty odor.
A comfortable stay in a good location. It is a short distance from the station and within easy walking distance of the main locations. The staff were helpful and cheerful, especially in the breakfast room.
Location, convenience for station and restaurants Our room only had a skylight so no view - suspect this would be true of all 5th floor rooms;
The hotel is well located in the center of town, near train station and all the old city attractions. Breakfast was excellent wit lots of varieties.
Excellent breakfast too much noise from the windows not sound proof enough.
Very friendly personal. Good location, 5 min. to the Main station, 5 min. to the dome, in the old part of the city. Breakfast for Italy ok. Very clean. Because the hotel is directly at the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, it's a bit noisy at night.
Location of the hotel to the trains/bus station Nice room and view over the square Goof breakfast facilities
Location Couldn't open window for fresh air. When exiting the lift, it was necessary to go down approximately 10 steps to room.
Very kind people - the old fashion building - in the city of Florence near by everything
The excelent localization, and the cleanliness of the room. the breakfast was really good also! It's quite old, but perfectly acceptable..
Proximity to gare de nord WIFI Helpful Staff Nice room The bed was two twins pushed together
Location was close to train station. Bed linens were very old looking. Toilet and shower were not clean even after advising staff. Bathroom outlet fried my hairdryer with Europe converter. Phone to hotel office didn't work.
Very friendly, helpful and courteous staff The corridor leading to our room was exceptionally narrow-cosider using mirrors to eliminate the claustrophobic feeling
The location was perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was incredible!
This hotel was good for the price. It's very old and not renovated but it's fine. The staff was helpful. The electrical wifing is old so we could only charge one phone at a time or the lights would go out.
The hotel is central for all activities
Simple, clean, quiet room. The location was ideal (2 minute walk to the Duomo). Good breakfast in a beautiful room (or on a sunny terrace). Paris' staff is friendly. The hotel is nothing to write home about, but it is certainly nice and just what we needed for a convenient home base while exploring Firenze.
the rooms were clean, the hotel is very central for site seeing there was a good variety of breakfast that the hotel did not have a bar/lounge
The room was very large and very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There could have been more chairs or a couch in the room
The hotel is in a very good location in fact it is at a stone's throw from Piazza Duomo. The room I was given was far too small, infact ther wasn't any place for me to move around, watching TV was while sitting on the bed and not even two feet away.
Breakfast was nice. Good location relative to the train station. no. But if I were to return to Florence I would look for another hotel, there was nothing special about how we were treated as guests. We have had better treatment at a Holiday Inn for far less money. We felt that we were processed through our stay.
A friendly hotel that was well located, clean and had beautiful , if basic, rooms. We had an excellent time.
The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. I liked the location for its proximity to the train station and to town. I would have liked more towels, there seemed to be less than usual. Also there were no spare pillows.
Convenience.Friendly Staff.Good location for centre plus Rail Station Hard Beds!
Close to train station and attractions.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Central location.
The second room we were moved to was nice. I also thought the breakfast variety was good and staff were helpful. The first night the room was tiny and the shower way too small for 2 people. The ''double bed'' was two singles pushed together. Disliked this a lot! Very uncomfortable. Was also quite noisy in the mornings and the heating was noisy at nightimes.
This hotel is clean, comfort to stay and the location is perfect. By the way, the staff is helpful. If they can provide more information for the visiting around is better.
It is situated virtually on the River and is close to all the Major Bridges, Shopping Areas, Eateries, Bars etc The Bathrooms were small. I suppose that space is paramount in Florence, therefore the smallness. The Hotel Bar was unmanned during my stay. I did not see any airconditioning units in my room. It may have been central airconditioning or heating.
It was fairly central to the main sights and a short walk from the railway station.
Our triple room was ideal as it has an extra bedroom for our 10 year old and two bathrooms, more akin to a small apartment. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and made restaurant reservations for us etc. The lounge area was very nice and relaxing. Only minor things here really, such as the coffee for breakfast was not of great quality and was a bit stewed! Some of the decor could be updated and maybe a flatscreen TV in the bedroom with more international/English channels. However, we would definitely stay here again.
near to the railway station
The hotel has a convenient and central location in Firenze. About 15 min walk from the touristy center. Lobby looks very good and well kept, so the disappointment is all the bigger when the room looks old and worn. Breakfast was a poor ordeal, even for Italian breakfast standards.
Rather impressive in design and quality of interior, both in public spaces and in room. The room was good-sized, taking into account sleeping area and adjoining alcove. Bathroom was, like the rest, impressive in its appointments, from ceiling mouldings and wall sconces down to floor tiling. For the Booking.Com price of 98 Euros, it was a bargain. I've never gotten a better one. I don't know whether our modestly-priced rooom was an exception or not, but it did show some signs of lack of prompt maintenance. For one instance of three total, a good-sized water stain on ceiling and down to bottom of otherwise impressive and impressively thick ceiling moulding.
The location The rooms are small and not renovated
cute design, close to the train station, close to the river, walking distance to attractions in Florence. Directions to the hotel from the train station were not communicated well. It is really simple, but the language barrier made it more difficult. We ended up wandering around for an extra hour with our luggage. The pillows were tiny, more like one layer of badding in a pillowcase. The room was muggy; our laundry wouldn't dry because the a/c only worked when we were in the room. Our key in the slot was the source of all power. The water smelled bad, so it was barely drinkable. We could smell the water even just when showering. Watch out for mosquitoes; we got eaten alive.
The hotel has an authentic Florence atmosphere. The historic architecture of the hotel building is wonderful with wooden beams and brick arches. The dining room ceiling is inspirational. The hotel is on a relatively quiet, narrow, cobbled street but very close to the heart of the city. We found the staff friendly and helpful. They will even make you a fresh expresso at reception at any time! Our ground floor balcony had no view; however the room was enormous which more than made up for it.
Room size was good, one man (tall with glasses) and one woman (blonde) at the front desk were excellent, free internet access available Noisy housekeepers in the early morning shouting and slamming doors -- impossible to sleep in. Shower glass did not seal properly -- ended up with water on floor alot.
Its very close to Duomo and other attractions within walking distance. Our room and bath room were clean. Breakfast is OK with fresh fruits. Our room was looking at a very noisy narrow street. It felt unsafe. Note: We asked to change our room and the staff immediately did it.
breakfast, location to sites, large bathroom with full bath tub and the new renovations make it a very nice place the cleaning products used to clean the room left a strange smell requiring the windows opened to air the room out
The rooms were extremly spacious and clean. Very comfortable stay. When we checked in the the gentleman at the reception although very helpful did not provide us with correct information and his English was not the best. He also did not provide us with correct advise in relation to the car park. The day staff were excellent.
good location, friendly staff
Proximity to train station. Hotel personnel. Comfort. Breakfast.
Good location near the train station, beautiful room (but a but noisy from the street), and helpful staff. Breakfast was good.
It is so hard to say what we liked best. Everything about this hotel was excellent. The room was hugh, actually it was 2 rooms, one with a lounge suite and one with the big bed, bar fridge, tele, and a large wardrobe. Lots and lots of room to move around. The staff were more than helpful and nothing was a bother. The receptionists spoke excellent english, a real bonus. They even phoned & faxed another hotel, to change our booking for us, and didn't charge us for it. They made bookings for us at museums etc. at no charge and made our trip a total pleasure. We give this hotel and it's staff 10 our of 10. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The laundry service was fast and very affordable. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Leaving.
It in the center of the city with all the attractions within walking distance, yet on a very quiet street. Staff spoke perfect english. The breakfast was good. The hotel has a parking however, its not free. They charged us 13 euro per night for it.
Ac works great, location.
the size of the room, the very quiet and effect air conditioner, and the large bathroom and free internet access. area for case not in the bedroom simple clean and perfect.
room was clean and tidy and close to the main railway station. Staff were helpful, one in particular. staff 'supervising' breakfast - quite odd as they appear to have very little to do other than take your room number then watch to you eat your breakfast.
Located close to the station and reasonable restaurants nearby Compared with similar standard hotels in Turin and Pisa, it was more expensive, yet the breakfast was the poorest of the three with a limited choice, coffee from a machine and meat and cheese on one serving plate
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included, and internet access was available. The hotel was very easy to get to from the train station, and all major attractions were within easy walking distance.
breakfast and room perfect
good location. free private parking. I asked for a rear room and got it. for one night it was alright. mattresses are in bad shape. the room was clean but full of dead mosquitos on the walls. no ventilation in the shower
parking on site and location - easy to walk to centre of city room was small, cell-like, very plain. not given room with internet access although requested it.
There is a private carpark in the hotel. As we rented a car, this was very useful as it felt safe, and saved us 24euros for overnight parking.Location is reasonable walkable from SMN station. The staff service was not so great during our stay, we felt like we were imposing. There was a misunderstanding on the hotel rates during check out, but the hotel promptly offered to refund us the difference after we left the country, which was great.
The hotel has it's own parking lot, which is a big plus in Florence. We left the car there and walked everywhere from the hotel. All the most important things, like Duomo, are within walking distance. If you walk too far you can always take a cab back for about 10 euros. The hotel was clean and the room was nice. The staff was very nice too. Nothing
