Location was great and staff was friendly and helpful. Value was great also.
The family room was large enough and well situated in Sultanamet
Good position>frendly staff
the thing we liked the most is the location and the price with a clam room decoration the staff was realy very friendly
its location is excellent. except of trying to charge us for more about picking up from the airport everything was fine.
the room was quiet, nice view,.. we were on the last floor, all the smoking coming from downstairs cumulated in our place.. maybe an open window in the stairs would help..
location they don't have terrasse
close to the historical sites
The location and also the breakfast. Our room was the cheapest one, so be ready to stay next to the elevator and no view at all since there's another house next to the window.
Too much communication between the rooms
Location was fabulous. Breakfast on rooftop has amazing views. Hard beds. Noise from construction next door.
Excellent location, only minutes walking distance to the main tourist sights and the tram link and surrounded by restaurants. The hotel could not be better located but in a relatively quiet side street so not disturbed by external noise. The lady on reception during our stay was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast staff also very good. Breakfast was adequate but the selection was poor. It could be improved. More external seating would help to enjoy the Bospherous views at breakfast.
The staff is friendly and helpfull. There is no luxury but room service is very efficient and the breakfast is delicious. I came with my wife and 5 yr old boy and we recommend.
Everything was very nice. Hotel staff very friendly, clean, centar of Istanbul... If I stayed longer, maybe there would be less of space for wardrobe.
Closeness to the centre. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were always very helpful. The breakfast choices were a bit limited, could be better. It would be useful if they provided facilities to make hot drinks in your room.
Friendliness/helpfulness of staff. Close proximity to major tourist attractions. Exceptionally clean and modern. More information needed in the rooms about locality. Safety deposit box not that secure (flimsy connection to cupboard) - would be better in the wardbrobe?
Excellent location, very good value for your money! Nice rooftop terrace, very helpful staff at the breakfast and the bar. Be careful, the reception staff is cheating about the free transfer between the hotel and the airport. We wanted to use the hotel -> airport transfer since we went by train from the airport. The reception staff said that only the airport -> hotel transfer was offered by the booking site. Of course this was untrue. After I mentioned him, that his colleague (who was working at night) confirmed or transfer is available, it became available immediatelly. Nice attempt!
We liked all ))) We liked all )))
New Hotel in a great position, extremely helpful and friendly staff, safe, quiet and clean.
We stayed at Tan Hotel for 3 days. The staff was extremely helpful and very polite. The hotel architecture is superb, especially the terrace restaurant where we had breakfast and could see the view of all of dowtown Istanbul. Overall it was a great experience and this hotel made it all the more better! We highly recommend it and would stay here again!
Competent English speaking staff on reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast was extensive and regularly topped up throughout the 2 hour period with freshly made food. Ensuring that whatever time you went to breakfast the food was plentiful and fresh. Also pleasing that the roof top terrace restaurant/bar is open all day. Many hotels in the vicinity close theirs up after breakfast which is a great shame when one of their main attractions is that they have a roof top terrace to see the spectacular & unique views of Istanbul. Although a quiet location, it is central, well lit with a selection of restaurants literally 1 minutes walk. I requested a Twin Room when booking with Booking.Com specifically stating it was my mother and I sharing a room. On arrival we were given a Double. The hotel showed me the reservation by Booking.Com and this information had not been conveyed to them. The hotel was full and was unable to do anything that night. In the morning the hotel arranged for a room that met our original booking requirements. Whilst disappointing and upsetting to arrive to this situation after a long days travelling we were pleased with the way in which the hotel dealt with the matter.
I have travelled to Istanbul several times on business and have stayed in different hotels. But when I decided take my wife for a short break, I decided to stay in Sultanahmet, which is the historical centre of Istanbul and walking distance from most of the tourist attractions. I did the usual initial internet research and Obelisk Best Western pictures looked good, being recently refurbished. After speaking to Mehmet in reservation and due to his warm manner, we booked in for three days. Throught our stay, we had an excellent service and the cleanliness of the hotel to be admired. The icing on the cake was, when a left behind book was posted to my London office! In summary... Excellent hotel at perfect location with admirable service, A perfect holiday...
We were upgraded to a spacious stylish suite, excellent bed and shower. Breakfast area at the roof offfers an amazing view at Bosphorus. Location of the hotel is superb. Breakfast isn't impressive, same everyday and pity that they don't serve fresh coffee.
A little gem in the heart of Istanbul. Perfect location, good food and excellent service. Rooms were well equipped and have free wi-fi. The staff and welcome was excellent. If you are in Istanbul then use this hotel. Yoou will not be disappointed.
The hotel was clean and well located, very close to all the touristic sites.
Service from staff was good and it is easy access to Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. We visited there in mid-Oct and it was raining and cold, but heating system in the room was very good. Breakfast starts too late (from 7:30AM) and the room was not very sound-proof and it was quite noisy when people were talking or walking in the corridor.
Great location .. Friendly staff.. That was the first time I visited to Istanbul. And It was amazing. Hotel is located just a short walk from historical places. And also foods were too delicious..
Very good location in a touristic area. Decent rooms, decent breakfast, free wifi. Rooms are outdated, it is not 4*, maximum 3*.
This is a quaint, small boutique hotel in the historic Sultanamit area of Istanbul right opposite the blue mosque. Location is perfect for those interested in the historic attractions of the city. Although a fairly basic establishment, service is friendly and efficient with clean rooms. There is a Turkish Bath and I can recommend it for facilities. Restaurant has wonderful view. I have stayed here twice and have enjoyed a different experience.
Welcomed at the airport to be driven to the hotel especially great when flying overnight and such a long flight at that. Large room with one double and one single bed. The most comfortable bed ever! Very nice young man at the desk but the girl the next day had no personality. Good breakfast and great to use the internet.
Very nice hotel and in a geat location. Easy access to tram line to get around. Clean & tidy hotel with good staff. Will definately use again.
the staff are very hospitable and will do anything to meet your wishes; the rooftop terrace is outstanding; everything is new and functions very well
The room was small but very tastefull decorated with an mixture between old turkish style and the modern style. The staff was more than helpfull, giving us indications for visiting sites, even offering us trips on a better price (like boat trips in the evening on Bosphorus). You can use internet from hotel free of charge.Breakfast was ok, and best of all, we eat the best spinach rolls ever.
very good staff, good location, medium quality of bedrooms
Perfect location, mostly great staff at the reception and breakfast room. Food offered for breakfast was fresh and plenty. Room was very comfortable and cleaned perfectly every day. Something needs to be done about doors - cannot be shut properly and there is a lot of banging day n night. Also this is just a minor comment - please get rid of the plastic plants / flowers. No need for them and they look cheap.
Location, interior & breakfast. Small size of the hotel
It is very nice hotel. It is brand new, and everything was working perfectly. Very clean rooms, very friendly personnel. The position of the hotel is just a "best point" in Sultan Ahmed area as you only need to spend 5 minutes to walk to Blue Mosque or Aya Sophia. The area around hotel is full of different types of restaurants and cafe and all of them are nice and prices are affordable.
extremely clean hotel. very good location. love it. and a lot of my friends would love to go there. so far nothing. I will go back again.
We were very impresed by the room, there was a lot of space and a special design.
Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great rooftop terrace w/ view.
mostly the location, then the value. the Air Condition was terrible sometimes even when we informed the staff
close to attractive area small elevator
The location was good. Near the main monuments and quiet. Great view from the roof restaurant. The gym is a small underground rapid hole without any air. Very small rooms.
Location was good and Terrace is superb with the ability to have a great view in addition to the rich breakfast bufet The poor language of the staff
Very good central location in old town near the train station. Wonderful roof restaraunt. Good breakfast.
The hotel was in very close proximity to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace, the Obelisks and the Grand Bazaar. Besides that it was also close to the tram line to Sirkeci and the bus to Taxim. Couldnt have asked for more. The breakfast was not bad and we had it on the roof top restaurant which had a million dollar view of the B Mosque and the H Sophia. .The staff was v. helpful One of the receptionists was overly friendly and was hitting onto my young daughter, somuch so that she was afraid to use the free internet whch was placed next to the reception desk. I thought that was crossing the line abit.
location very good, in the heart of Istanbul AC was not working during our stay , rooms too small
the staff were very friendly, excellent locatıon,wonderful hamam the room was tiny, the bathroom was more hostle than 4 star ,hidden charges on the facilities
Location All prices quoted in euros
Staff of the hotel and central placement in the old center Can't think of anything
staff were helpful location is right on the main street. noisy at night
Location and hotel had a very welcoming feel.
location is very good, right in the old city center Some rooms are small some are bigger, depends on luck what you get.
It is near all historic monuments, tram,Bosfor
Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, fresh breakfast with limited verities, safe family atmosphere. Free internet high-speed service is excellent, but you can only enjoy in in your room, don’t expect the nice and conformable lobby. I booked a suite but unfortunately I couldn’t get it before 2 nights, the reason was a mistake in the booking system allowed bauble booking on the rooms. In return, the hotel management offered to us a complementary dinner for that mistake (it was mentioned in my booking confirmation that there will be a free dinned after Nov. 15th and I was staying up to the 17th , what they did is they gave it a bit earlier) and it was a good dinner.
Tula's a very kind and nice person. A good person for the hotel. The rest of the staff didn't smile at all. I'm used to smiling people in the hospitality sector. All of them go the extra miles for the guests, so they feel welcomed and not as a burden.
i could see the terrace of St. Shophia even from my balcony which means it's really close from this hotel. Breakfast was nice. staff were really kind. When we had a trouble with a taxi driver they came out and deal with it
On the whole the staff were excellent and the hotel is in a superb location. The staff in the breakfast lounge were a bit rude and although breakfast was served till 10am, when we got there at 9am food had run out and was not being replaced by the staff.
The hotel and its surrounding
We stayed 4 nights at celal sultan hotel & it was great time there, everything is so close by the hotel, just within walking distance like Blue Mosque, Sophia Hagia & most of museum . a bit hard to find , always use google .
Great location. Staff super helpful. Rooms are pretty small though. Beds are also a little hard. Great place for the $$.
Convenient location near main sites. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very nice view from terrace, although the terrace is rather small. View from most hotel rooms is Hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality and an attempt was made to offer some daily variations, although three days in a row the same (?!) sausages were on display... Sent an email to the hotel 36 hours before our arrival, requesting airport pickup. Email was lost in the hotel's email system -> pickup not available. However, a taxi from the airport is easy and also a cheaper option.
Charming how the old character of the hotel has been maintained but modern comfort has been incorporated. Excellent breakfast!
we liked the bright light in our room, the view on Aga Sofia, the quietness of the street. On top of that the decoration for the hotel is fine.
Very helpful staff, held our luggage, helped with any questions, free internet! I understand there is a new wing with bigger rooms, although we asked for that section we were not put there. We were on the 4th floor with a pleasant room, only it was right below the restaurant, which was quite noisy with people coming and going. It closed at 11pm and was quiet after that.
Location Hotel airportshuttle service price.
the location is excellent and the staff very friendly the parkingfacilities are separate from the hotel to be paid and that was not alwasy clear
I liked my comfortable room with a modern bath. It had a view directly onto the Hagia Sophia one block away (back rooms do not). The room was not "small" for being in a boutique hotel in an old building. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of breads, jams, cheeses, cereals, fruits, etc. It's located on a quiet side street with virtually no through traffic, and the staff are friendly and attentive - a minor furniture issue was fixed immediately. The interior has been refurbished and "designed" by some consultant, and they created an attractive and livable hotel. Compared to many hotels in the old town this place is a gem. I will stay here again if I return to Istanbul. I had no problems during my five day stay. They were keen to have me use the hotel shuttle (a mini van) on my way to the airport, although it may have cost slightly more than a taxi (though that would be subject to unpredictable traffic). No doubt they need to keep the driver occupied for those times when a group needs the bus. The hotel's rooftop restaurant is very pricey, but the view makes it worth while to eat there at least once.
Excellent location, delicious breakfast, splendid views from terraces Rooms were a little dirty and there was not enough hot water
Location, staff, room, view from balcony. Steps in the front of the hotel could be a difficult for travellers with trunks
It was central. The room was not as advertised on your web site, there was no seating area separated from the bedroom, infact the seating area was at the foot of the bed with hardly any room to pull the chair out, also the bathroom had no spa and was with black mildew all around the bath
Location and atmosphere of the hotel The dining room is very nice with a great view to the Bosphorus Breakfast could be better, but is OK. Water tab is not drinkeable, the hotel should include, free of charge, 2 bottles of mineral water in the bathroom
Courtesy of the staff, good variety of food at breakfast. Excellent location for visiting all of the Sultanahmet area, and a reasonably quiet area. Being on the ground floor at the back of the hotel which made it very dark in the room, and the busy railway line at the back of the hotel, trains going by approx every 15 mins although we didnt here any trains through the night they were running again by 6am. Also we could here the guests in the room next door talking.
Easy going, friendly staff, good price/performance. Excellent location in Sultanahmet, close to nice little restaurants, and close - easy walking distance - to the main attractions of Istanbul.
Nice sea view, romantic room with jacuzzi on the last floor. Exellent terrace for breakfast A bit noisy of railway
nothing heater didn't work, not enough cover on the beds. i got up freezing. Rooms amenities are week and the stuff inside are very old.
The location - the hotel is near all sights you need to see while staying in Istanbul
Best price-service ratio
Staff was very accommodating. No
The Staff is very helpful and smiling all the time.. The location is ideal for visiting the old city... The breakfast is great.. The room was a bit small, but was comfortable.
Beautiful hotel. Great location short walk to the best sightseeing.
Excellent location, cleanliness and generally cheerful and helpful staff. Breakfast offered good choice and plentiful supply but offerings became somewhat monotonous over time. Room was somewhat small and lacked closet/cupboard space. Transit service to airport and 'new business area' was unreliable.
Breakfast was excellent. Smaller room with no view
The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The breakfasts were excellent .The hotel is situated in a quiet location but very close to the Blue Mosque etc. This is an ideal hotel for a lone traveller.
The staff were so helpful and spoke good English. We stayed at the top of the hotel and had lovely views over Istanbul. There was no lift and although our luggage was taken up to our room by the staff, you woud need to be fairly fit to have this room.
Brand new hotel, particularly helpful staff, very convenient location
An exceptional hotel. Very comfortable, very well run, friendly staff and immaculate rooms. Very central and convenient but quietly tucked away. Highly recommended.
Hotel was cosy and rooms very cute. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Even after we had checked out they still took care of us, booked a taxi, offered us a changing room ,a nd served us freshly baked cookies and tea. Breakfast is amazing , all freshly baked and very homey. Only drawback was that the street/area is unfamiliar to most of the taxis that we took. None could reach the hotel and we had to spend an hour roaming the narrow winding streets of the Sultanahmed area to try and find the hotel.
Always very helpful & friendly.Travelling alone so very important. N/A
The helpful staff on the front desk were great - only too happy to answer any queries. Location to all the main sites and transport was very convenient.
Location, helpful staff and comfortable room, I will recommend this place to as many people as possible. nothing
Staff made me feel at home and relaxed
Pretty hotel with very good front desk staff. Location excellent. Lots of restaurants close at hand, as was a convenience store for water etc. Brass double bed a little small. Breakfasts just adequate.
Hotel Nena was centrally located in the old city of Istanbul with pleasant rooms and a superb breakfast with a view of the Blue Mosque. The building was tastefully created and decorated.
Small, friendly hotel in a the best location possible. Tremendous view. We were on the highest floor, just beneath the restaurant and unfortunately there was some noise of chairs moving around during breakfast. Breakfast did not start too early so it was not too much of a problem.
position. decor. no
Nice and clean room, friendly atmosphere, perfect location.
The staff at Hotel Nena were very helpful and friendly. Location of hotel is excellent, close to major attractions and tramline. Hotel was comfortable and clean.
Staff always willing to help. Very courious. Convenient location.
near the tram station , nearby the most interesting old places,,blue mosque, haga Sofia, topkapi,,,grand bazzar,,,hammam,,,,the location very nice,,,sea side not far,,,the staff very friendly.Good view at the restaurant. some noise specailly the first floor...car horns, even the near rooms you hear the steps of the quests and some time you thought some one kniking your room door while it is your neibgher doors.
Great, friendly, extremely responsive staff, from reception desk to breakfast ladies to maids. Spectacular view from breakfast terrace, and breakfast buffet was quite good as well. Rooms and common areas were spotless. Location is within very short walk of Ayasophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, archaelogical museum and tram stop to other points..
Very rich breakfast served on the beautiful roof terrace with a view to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and Bosborus. Balcony eas actually a very small less than 1 sqm french balcony.
Rooms not very spacious but quite clean and well-maintained. Comfort is ok, but not exceptional. Furnishing and decoration need update. Breakfeast buffet might be a bit more refined. Overall, acceptable value for money but there are better options available. The view is magnificent on the 6/7 th floor.
good view The airconditioner is not working at the hotel .I adviced this hotel to my professor scientist colleguaeas .One them recently visited May 30 2010 from Taiepei and he told me that the airconditioner is not working Only fan is working . at that time I warned the hotel service . then for the SSIEM meeting I stayed and 3 of my other collegueas booked and stayed one from Belgium and the others two from UK and we had still the same problem air conditioner was NOT working I complained about this to hotel service and they told me that they can not do anything for that. It is not good for hotel that has a very nice location . I am sure , you will have more pressure on this air conditioner fixing or having a new system there Thank you
The room, view, amenities, and location were great; The one major issue was the staff - one of the desk clerks continued to harass my wife, asking for photos, and also to go on a date. It made the stay quite uncomfortable .. I would not expect this from a three star hotel!
Perfect location, good atmosphere, very nice views,
The location and view were very good The only luxurious aspect of the hotel are the room prices. Given the price we were expecting something better than old furniture, staff that would not make the room in the afternoon and soap/shampoo coming from an dispenser attached to a wall. The worst was the minimalist breakfast supposed to last until 10:30 but which is almost empty at 9:30 and with staff starting to dispose of it at 10:15. Hotel does indeed have a gym, massage and jacuzzi, but you have to pay just for "general facilities access", and again for the activity you choose. We don't recommend this hotel, there are many better ones with same location advantage!
pretty nice hotel, great location and view from the roof dining room breakfast could be better
staff were excellent internet connection was subject to problems
A very nice hotel in a perfect location.
Very convenient position for visiting the old town and the local attractions The room was extremely hot as the air conditioning was ineffective, no air conditioning in the breakfast room, staff not particularly helpful.
Most amazing view of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque from my room.
Staff was efficient and courteous.....however the beds need definately improvement...the mattresses felt like they had been used by very heavy overweight people with a definate hole in the middle. We stayed in room 401 which sizewise was ok but had very few hangers for hanging clothes. New mattresses absolutely necessary... they should also provide a little more light in the corridors of the hotel... it was almost pitch dark and one had difficulties to insert card to open room doors.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the view excellent (you can see from your window all the city, Agyasofia and Blue Mosque) and the tramway station very close to the hotel. I ll return to this hotel if I ever visit again Istanbul. The fact that the elevetor comes up to the 7th floor, and you have to walk some stairs to go to the roof garden which is on the 8th floor.
