I loved the location of this hotel- really can't imagine a better location. The overall feel of the hotel was luxurious, with ample options for dining and great amenities. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The sheer number of tour busses (and hoards of people that come out of them to take pictures) is overwhelming and detracts from the ambiance/experience of paying guests. I'd like to return to this hotel, but the crowds give me a bit of pause. Also, room size was a bit small.
Spacious room overlooking lake. Handsome hotel. Delicious dinner in dining room, knowledgeable server who helped us make the best choices. Gracious staff. Stunning beauty. There was absolutely nothing to dislike.
The service was impeccable. Especially the manger was very accommodating. The wine list was rather limited in the restaurant
Great Staff! Perfect location except for lack of direct access to ski resort. Amazing winter hiking trails available. Great view from room! Lumpy Bed, high price of food which was generally good but not worth what was being charged, and excessive self parking fees. Otherwise an excellent hotel.
The view of Lake Louise Luxury Swimming Pool/Hot tub/ Exercise Room Shops High prices Poor food selections in the Deli
Excellent food. Both breakfast and dinner. The room had a sticky carpet. Looked as if someone spilled and it was never cleaned. Long black hairs on the wall in the bathroom. Gross-
The view Everything was great
I would say this is one the most beautiful places I have ever been. The hotel is luxurious and the Lake Louise setting is amazing! I enjoy photography and was able to capture stunning images everywhere I looked. We also loved the 1.75 mile walk to the far end of the lake. Elizabeth With the late spring thaw, was disappointed the hiking trails were not yet open.
breathtaking view from the room, very comfortable beds, roomy bathroom A/C was out of order (warm air was unavailable and this couldn't be fixed up even with the maintenance staff called up to the room), an electric kettle was not clean to boil a drinking water (it was replaced with a new one upon request), parking fee was extra charged as much as $30 (Frankly, I couldn't understand that this expensive hotel requires the extra cost for parking), too crowded lobby by travellers not patron in this hotel
Their service is the gold standard for all hotels. Staff all seemed genuinely concerned about our wellbeing and genuinely interested in us on a personal level. Complimentary water bottles in the room for some reason made us quite happy The fact that all our hotel stays will now be judged based on our Fairmont experience Good luck all other hotels!
The staff Unable to stay longer because no rooms available
reception area and staff breakfast very good and helpful bedroom size cleanliness poor and very tired looking
Good restaurant for evening meal, excellent servive, warm room Poor and over priced continental breakfast.
The welcome of one of the staff by the name of Emelie
I stayed here one night over a long weekend and really enjoyed my stay. Mainly, it was because they gave us a free upgrade from a 2 queen bed room to a condo loft, which had three singles, two queens and a queen-sized Murphy bed, along with a living room and kitchen. My parents were thrilled with the unexpected amount of space, so I must give props to the front desk for the upgrade, especially since now they have more space they need to clean up. The pool and hot tub were indoors and were under high ceilings. We didn't have breakfast here, but there was a dining option that looked cozy. Front desk reception was very friendly and helpful. Location of the lodging is pretty central to the Lake Louise Village/visitor's center. The bathroom grout could use some cleaning to look more pristine
the room was very dated. furnishings were old. the staff lost our booking when we tried to check in and we had to wait an hour for them to try to dig it up.
Great privacy and great view
Central location with many facilities Walkways had old carpet and general noise was high
we wee lucky to get an upgrade and found the room well laid out and vey comfortable
As a younger and price sensitive group of friends, we were very happy with the location and cost. Really close to lake Louise proper, Moraine Lake, and walking distance from a small center with about 15 shops. ~45 minutes north of Banff, and ~2.75 hours south of Jasper.
I loved the pool and spa. Also the luxury of the hotel and closeness to Lake Louise Village. We booked a room with two beds, but only found one in the room. We went back to the reception to ask about the second bed, and were told that the second bed folded down from the wall. We thought they should have informed us of that.
We enjoyed every minute of our trip can't say anything bad about this whole experience. Nothing to report bad
We had 2 separate nights at this hotel. We did not particularly like our room on the first night (when passing through from Banff to Jasper): looked like it needed a redecoration. But the room on the second night (when passing through from Jasper to Revelstoke) was excellent: smart, bright, clean, comfortable and looked like it had been redecorated!
Can't much think of anything. Indifferent staff, cramped beyond imagination room, overpriced.
The staff was incredibly helpful and the food is very good. The hot tub on the roof offers amazing views - not to be missed.. It's also great for unplugging. There is WiFi, though only one TV. It's the kind of thing you appreciate when you've unplugged for a few days. It offers good value for money. Imagine the Fairmont Chateau just a short 10 min walk away. Yes, much grander and directly on the lake, though for a very steep premium and less of the charm. The old rooms need an update. The decor is often still from when the lodge was built, and so is some of the infrastructure (plumbing, heating), which seems to create the odd problem. The old rooms also have a dark feel to them. They are being kept very clean though and one tends to spend little time there anyway.
Gracious, old-fashioned elegance. Friendly, patient, professional and well-informed staff. Delicious and interesting food and great views from the dining room. Very short walk to beautiful Lake Louise. The room was very small, which I think is typical of inns of this vintage. But there were comfortable areas in which to sit downstairs, so there was no need to spend a lot of time in the room.
Was a cute place with a very cozy room and cute decor. Loved looking at all the old photographs of Banff. I thought it was a little ridiculous that dinner for two at the restaurant in the hotel would be far more than the cost of the actual room. So if you don't want to double or triple your costs you better be ready to drive into town.
Walking distance from Lake Louise. Charming historic hotel. Rooms need renovation
Gorgeous location, great staff. Beautiful building and restaurant is amazing. Room was tiny without tv... Great for a solo work trip. Shower/bath were dingy and not fully functioning. Walls are thin. Windows dont properly open- temperature is an old radiator which we turned off had a window open and still couldn't sleep from the heat (in March?)
The hotel has tons of charm, the staff was excellent and the short ride to the ski resort was awesome. Met people from all over , England, Netherlands, Brazil, other parts of Canada too. Very cool. The hot tub seemed to only get to 39 degrees. Missed that extra degree or so of warmth. Still nice to sit in after a long day skiing.
This was the crown jewel of our Canadian Rockies vacation experience. The Lodge was a perfect way to end our experience in Alberta. The combination of a magnificent location combined with the charm of the Lodge is unbeatable. Staff are very courteous and knowledgable. The hiking trails offer significant variety and the views from each of them are simply breathtaking.
the scenery and the helpful staff
Superb location! Log fire in the room was a romantic, rare treat and the view from the enormous picture window of the lake and the mountain was truly 'awesome'. The food was good too!
Private cottages. Unlimited free canoe rentals. Very over priced. Very few (only 1) option for dining.
The location, the fantastic sceanery, peace and tranqility, friendliness of the staff.
Loved the decor and fireplace and scenery. The Babel rock formation has challenged me to return to fitness so that I can return to climb it. The room size could have been a little bigger - room to sit in front of the fireplace.
Fireplace, lodge decor, food No hi-speed internet
The room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. The fireplace was attractive and the view from the room was exceptional. The dining room was excellent and the breakfasts were generous. It was also nice to have the cafe available for purchasing lunches to take for hiking. We had no complaints.
Staff was very helpful and attentive. Setting is remote and beautiful. Understand July and August are heavy tourist months breakfast food could use a bit of variance
Scenary through windows of the room was splendid; Blue of the lake and mountains (some of ten peaks) with snow or ice.
Service and facilites are excellent. Would have liked to stay longer to be able to use them all. Dress code for the dining room meant we had to eat at the onsite pub. The pub food was great but we would have liked to eat in the dining room. Not all travellers take upmarket clothes on their trip but we can still afford upmarket things.
the location, the beds, the toilets, the staff was un personal, and instrumental.
Great location, friendly staff, clean Bed matress was slightly lumpy/worn
The location can't be beat - there aren't many lodging options in Lake Louise but this one is right across the street from the main village/visitor's center. The hot tub was big and jets were powerful (kind of heavy on the chlorine though) and not frequently used. Parking was extremely easy. Breakfast was ok - very carb heavy and fruits were canned. No eggs or breakfast meats. Room was large and relatively clean (not SUPER clean, not egregiously dirty, just a little dusty feeling). Temperature maintained pretty well during the night. Pretty good value for the price Front desk was meh - not particularly warm or friendly
friendly staff, quick service, good breakfast incl., reasonable cost, large comfortable room with two queens. no issues
Location, describe stay as necessary for location and activity Room to hot. Unable to lower temp. May be due to the location next to the steam room and hot tub.
scenery nice to wake up to, ample parking for trucks, trailers, etc the location was totally mis-represented. It is advertised as 'Lake Louise' but it is an hour's drive out of Lake Louise! (I found out they have a PO Box in Lake Louise which is how they can advertise their location as Lake Louise). Not happy at ALL after a long day touring to have to drive another hour at the end of the day!! rooms are (very) small
