Excellent location, spacious rooms, very good bathroom. Although the staff were quite good, there were some times when we had to ask for some basic services more than 10 times. We stayed for a week, first 3 days room service was good, after that room attendant didn't even bother to swipe the floor-the layers of dust were amazing.
I liked the apartment style of our room and the ease of registering. The room was very well designed with a contemporary feel to it and the views were spine tingling! I would definitely choose this hotel again.
The hotel was superb! Clean, stylish, friendly and helpful staff. Only one thing - the room was hot and airless at night.
Excellent location and helpful staff Slightly disappointed with the standard of the bed for a quality hotel
Good quality of decor and fittings in rooms and public places. Excellent position for enjoying central London.
We stayed in the executive studio and we had everything we needed. Lovely modern design - very comfortable. Great bathroom. Close to Waterloo Station. Very friendly reception staff.
Convenient and good value Air conditioning not working properly
very good location in central London Lengthy wait for lifts
convenient location, clean and smart room - good internet connectivity, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff the room was too hot...and unable to open window or reduce temperature
I didn't stay, my boss did and they upgraded him even though he was only staying one night! Location is very good and staff friendly
It was in a great location, right next to the tube and the London eye. The room was clean and comfortable but a little small. the food in th restaurant was very good. A couple people on the staff in the restaurant were very unpleasant and borderline rude. the front desk staff and concierge were great and very helpful
The food was worth the price. The location is ideal for a city stay.
We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with a river view- fantastic! It was quite far from the tube
From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like royalty - my only disappointment was that I was only staying the one night - suites superb, staff warm, friendly and very helpful - unlike the obnoxious staff that I have encountered at other 5 star hotels Nothing - everything fantastic
Upgraded to larger room - very comfortable room Remote from tube and difficult to get taxi
Partial view of the river room was given when we expected a blocked view one due to the special rate booked which made us quite happy. Some items were missing like pan and cutting knive when we arrived but was quickly replaced when we asked from the housekeeping. tv in the living room was not working but was quickly repaired. The hotel was very gracious with welcome basket of cereals, mineral waters, chocolate bar, and jam. Two bottles of free mineral water everyday. Beds were made every night with chocolate given. Free wi-fi internet in the room as well as in all areas in the hotel and free access for computer use in business center were very convenient. Vauxhall underground station could be reched within 5- 10 min. We were very satisfied
Staff were very helpful and friendly. When my husband left his mobile in the taxi, they arranged to have it returned in about 2 hours. On request, they also gave us a view of Westminster and changed our original room. The room cleaning and servicing was a little erratic. Sometimes different things were not replaced, such as dishwashing tablets, but as soon as housekeeping was contacted, missing items were brought to the room straight away.
I did like the complimentary promotional products. I changed the room when I checked in So that my nephews would have a seperate room. The room (450) had cigerette burns in the carpet and smelt of smoke especially the curtains- I am not a smoker.
very nice hotel , the staff are all wonderful and helpful. very close to the eye of London, the nearest tube ( vauxhaull) is five minutes walk, the bus stop is at the hotel entrance.all and all this hotel is a five star with good value for your money.
excellent staff, and service. The chino latino restaurant is very good, the chef deserves the honor.
The hotel is very good, and worthed for the amout of money
Location was great, and they upgraded us up when we got there. Room was very spacious & clean. In addition, they had gluten free breakfast options. Walls were not flush in one place in our rooms, which made it too easy to hear our neighbors in the early hours... (meaning there was a space between the walls.)
That the coffee maker in our room didn't work.
The hotel was exactly as I thought it would be based on all the excellent reviews written online. It is located close to all the tourist attractions and the subway is nearby to take you to wherever your heart desires. There is good food and entertainment at the hotel if you want to stay in. So go ahead...book this hotel...you won't be disappointed!
Great location. The lighting system requires a sense of humor. It is very easy to mistakingly turn out the lights on someone in a different room. You may want to bring a flashlight
Location and view was the best! All the staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was superb. Rooms were comfortable. pricing was very fair bar was a bit loud at night due to music. prices are, well, London i.e. a bit high.
Breakfasts were fantastic and location was excellent!
Situation plus we were at an Indian wedding in the hotel
The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the center of London, walking distance to the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben of Parliament building. We really loved the breakfast.
We booked this friend to stay overnight as our friends were having their wedding at The Ballroom in Park Plaza. Thank god the wedding was good, because that was the only good thing about this hotel!! As we were part of the bridal group we contacted the hotel months, weeks and even the day before check in to request an early check in, that never happened!! As an apology because our hair and make up artist was standing in reception, we were only upgraded for 2 of the 4 rooms. During and after the wedding, we got stuck in the lift (which was already broken but not decommissioned) no apology from the evening staff and no acknowledgement of their errors, rather I am told "I am done talking to you". After our party having spent tens and thousands of pounds, this is the treatment we received. No compensation and no complimentary offers to any of us.
The location of the hotel and great value for money. The room was very comfortable with a well equipped bathroom. There were several holes in the bed sheets (lack of attention to detail)!
Very nice hotel well worth £25 extra for a great veiw of River and Westminster nice room great bathroom nice freindly Bar. Staff were great
comfort and location The airconditioning was not working in the first room and I had to insist on moving before being moved to an apartment where the TV was not working!
location volume of noise of air conditioning and the efficiency of it
Remote to TV etc. didn't work. Wall picture falling off, couldn'y get a cup of coffee at 9.30 (machine being serviced
the room made you feel very relaxed and the hotel was kept very clean. the location was perfect for everything we needed.
the staff the beds were uncomfortable
The staff are very welcoming. The breakfast is very good and fresh. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom very modern and stylish.
i asked staff to show me the where the stairs were as i do not like treveling in lifts, they said that there were no stairs for guests, although we were pleased with everything that you hotel has to offer including the comfort and clenliness of the rooms i will not choose to stay at your hotel in the future.can you please reply to this comment at your earliest convenience
Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly
Great breakfast! Clean and comfortable rooms
Relaxing lobby area, good location, no issues
Profesional staff and Good value for money, good location Relatively small rooms as for US traveler, need to book on line to get the best price, even as HHonor member
Conveninet location Exceptionally poor layout for breakfast
excellent location, nice staff, pleasantly surprised in over-expensive london
Great location, very clesn, no problems
Excellent free left luggage service None
Cold plates at breakfast not enough coffee mugs dirty trays
Minutes from everything you need access to. Lots of things to do and the staff was extremely helpful for suggestions. No a/c just a small fan but it sounds like it doesn't get too hot so we understand.
Excellent staff, good facilities.Appreciated use of iron in guest cupboard. Noisy air conditioning at back of Hotel,no biscuits in room. A bit of a scrum at the self service breakfast Sunday morning.
Nice and Quiet...Good location A box of tissue (Kleenex) would be good and air conditioning...wasn't too hot when we were there though so the room only was warm in the afternoon.
Very good basic accomodation. A clean friendly hotel in a central but quiet location. I expected to have a few gripes at this price but I have none! At this price - none really!
Ease of booking - Location excellent - Cleanliness excellent - Sociable staff - (Have stayed here several times, and recommended friends to use this Hotel) Noisey kettle - you are very economical on the supply of tea and coffee although when requested for more at reception, there was no problem in supply
the staff were all helpfull and friendly Breakfast was excellent . Location was great.and Bar staff very friendly
Excellent location, good large rooms with everything you would need for a short break, friendly and helpfull staff None
Close to a major underground stop and London Eye. Room was modern and well designed. Bathroom was clean and modern. Complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations. We got to choose from the menu and got a full English breakfast. Lots of street noise due to location. Arrived early and could not figure out how to get in. Another group had the same problem. Finally we got a hold of someone to open the door.
The location was excellent. The internet was fast. The room and bathroom were clean. Having the bar downstairs was a nice touch also. Bar noise was not a problem. The bar staff were not very helpful in so far as the hotel experience. You could tell they were primarily a bar.
This is a cozy hotel with friendly staff. It is very convenient to the tube in a fine location. This is not a bad point, but the dinner I chose could have used some improvement. The chips were great, but the fish was fair. Still, it was a decent meal for the money.
It was easily situated by the common close to tube and all shops. Great to walk on the common. Hotel very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We will return!
Staff were very polite and hotel was very clean andf well kept We've stayed in 4 star hotels that were more affordable yet much nicer in terms of decor and furnishings E.G. riverside plaza!!
Very lovely hotel, which was clean and tidy The shower didn't work
The quality of the bed, the luxury of the room, the nice help at the reception.
A great location on the common, close to public transport and nice rooms
Great location, nice breakfast area and a nice room Staff average
The windmill benefits from a great pub with good english beers and also great food. Breakfast is excellent too.
Staff were very friendly, the room was large, comfortable, fully equiped and clean. There was very little traffic or other noise. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice.
It was clean and tidy and close to what I have to do in London. The room was quite and I could not here any pub or road noises and it was nice with the park close. Yes I would recommend the Windmill to anyone coming to London.
Great price for the good location. The Chinese chicken/noodle dish was one of the best meals I had in England.
The rooms were clean & tidy, spacious bathrooms, always clean towels and sheets, it was great! Location was great too, just a 7 min walk from the heart of London, you can't beat that. As a college student I was pleased to get a great deal for my stay. Highly recommend!!
Staff very nice & helpful No air conditioning in the room (Very hot weekend)
I've stayed here twice. It's a good location at a great price. The staff was very helpful at 4 AM with an unexpected worry of mine. I'll be back.
Room was clean Staff not too friendly
the location too noisy. Hotel is adjacent to the police station and hospital. You can hear sirens all evening. Never got a decent sleep. Breakfast was poor, not available on time, delayed. Room was not good enough for its cost vs. other hotels in the city. There is no airconditioning, hotel provides an electric fan. Cant close the windows to block off the noise (sirens) because the room gets too warm.
Location and value for money noisy
Excellent situation close to North lambeth Tube station. Parking space for cars available at reasonable rate. In front of the Imperial War Museum. Clean and friendky staff.
really close to the tube station. the room was nice. nothing to complain about
The location is great, only 5 minutes from Westminster bridge. Close to Imperial War Museum. Confy room, clean and staff very friendly. Nice bar area. Really could not fault it. Nothing
The location was a convenient train ride (Lambeth North) to Covent Garden, etc. It was walking distance to Parliament and the London Eye. This is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever tried to sleep on. My hip hurt from being pocked by springs. I called the front desk about moving to a room with a newer bed, but they said all the beds were "new." Had to flip the mattress and sleep on top of the comforter to make it bearable. Also, the wifi was out for 3 weeks, and when it did return, it was very unreliable.
Very good location, only 7 minutes walk to London Eye, Big Ben. Parking place in the front of the hotel, very friendly staff, Flat TV in the room 2 star hotel for 4 star prices, very expensive, very poor breakfast, rooms small and old furished, no air condition, only a fan in the room !!!, windows can be opened only 10cm, small bathroom, shower very small, old and broken, was repaired after complains. No safe, noisy area
The location of the Hotel. The cleanliness. The staff.
Good facility's, new Hotel, central location.
lovely hotel very central would deffinately stay here again.
My wife and I both enjoyed the friendly atmosphere The hotel was too warm!
The Breakfast was very good. The rooms were a good size too. The rooms were boiling hot. they are installing air conditioning at the moment, but our room did not have any, and it was uncomfortable, and unbearable to sleep in.
front guys were terrible. we reserved taxi in the dawn for the airport but they didn't even checked. it we get the taxi by ourselves we were late for the bus for the airport inthe 3 o clock in the morning
It was quiet, lobby was clean and modern. The room was much smaller than expected, for 3 people it was very tight. We had only 2 sets (like coffee cups, shower fluid). The view was very disappointing. Hotel is far from metro station in nasty area.
Attitude of the staff, friendly and not supersilious. I forgot ot mention that the shower in my room sprayed directly onto the opposite wall rather than in the shower tray
Location We staying in hotel for 2 nights and at 8am both mornings workmen where outside our hotel They where really loud and drilling. We complained as we where not warned about this but where told we could not be could not be moved.
Bathroom exceptionally poor.
Convenient and relatively cheap No wardrobe space. Rather noisy.
Possibility to left there a luggage after check-out.
good price and location poor breakfast - only toasts, butter, jam and corn flakes.... no ham, cheese or vegetables... cold room, under the window fanned... Morning noise from other rooms...broken toilette... don´t looks like hotel, but like cheap hostel.
Dirty, smelly room, breakfast = 2 toasts with butter and avery poor quality orange juice
The staff who stood out,and really tried in every way to help in any way they could, especially the kind and helpful man who got us a taxi to St Pancreas for the early morning of the 29/05. And the cleaninglady, who kept our rooms tidy inspite of all the qirks of the house. I also liked The nearness to Clapham Common,a great park, and a nice neighbourhood. It needs doing up,and old furniture replaced, drains stink. In short,it is an old building,it is all down to wear and tear. Breakfast is poor.
the hotel was good for public transport around london, allowed us to book in an hour early and gave us complimentary drinks while we were waiting. very basic, shower was only a trickle of water, windows very draughty and quite cold if you didn;t have the heating on high
Very welcoming and modern exterior
Booked two double rooms got upgraded to a flat for nothing. Lovely jubley.
the location is rather ok; You have easy access to subway which takes you in 10 min to London's centre The rooms are very very small; I stayed 2 nights. The first night the put us in a room on the ground floor which I would say was a closet. The only windows it had pointed to the eating area inside the hotel. The bathroom door could not be closed since it had only a door handle. And the minute I walked in the room I fell on the bed - there was absolutely no room for anything. Plus the LCD I saw in the pictures was a old tv set with an antenna( who the hell still has those? ) and only 4 boring channels. I think this is "new guys room" - you are new there, you are likely to end up in that room (202 for those curious). Next morning I change the room. This new one was way better but still a small room
Comfortable basic hotel with friendly staff conveniently located near two tube stations. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby and a great local cinema showing first run movies. Tremendous value
Excellent shower and nice clean bathroom No wardrobes or anywhere to unpack and hang clothes. Bedside lamp did not work. Very small room.
Close to where I wanted to be Very little in the room worked (hairdryer,television,t/press,bedside lights, no basin plug etc etc, ). Bed very uncomfortable. Not complaints - just facts.
Unbearably hot room, no ventilation. Shower was just a trickle, bathroom floor flooded and soaked into room carpet - judging from stains, for the last few years. Noisy, little sound insulation between rooms and corridors. Room generally a bit tatty. I know it's London but for this price in Australia you would get a 3-4 star, 2 bedroom apartment near the beach.
Close to underground, tesco and many pubs. Housekeeping every day. Good breakfast. No hairdryer or pen and paper in the room. Housekeeping could have been better, they didnt clean only change of towels and made the bed (no change of bedding).
cheapness. not too far from teh city center. useable. a little far from the city center. It is an additional 20 minutes in the metro to most places.
Close to the tube, shops Rooms in very poor condition
Got what we wanted - a reasonably priced hotel with friendly service We heard no rowwdy nightlife though there's traffic and planes (which are easy to block out as continous) and a few loud voiced guests! Tiny bathroom and window in sloping room made it feel cramped and hot. Beds not overly comfortable and sheets not duvet. Breakfast was very basic-would've liked criossants, Italian coffees - and nothing hot was offered. it also was served v early - it finishes at 9 and you can't use off peak public transport till 930. Being a way from most attractions means that you spend extra on transport
accessible to all amenities lack of parking, i had to pay for underground parking at battersea and taxied from hotel to car park
the price is cheap, nice hotel outside, the room ok to sleep the bathroom is not very big and not very clean
Excellent room for the money - especially in the London area. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
Room was basic but clean Most staff could be friendlier, more choice at breakfast, bed uncomfortable
Courteous, helpful staff, good car park, reasonable breakfast, comfortable room
Free parking, near station. Near shops and eating facilities. Hotel is easy to find and reach when driving in London.
Room was very clean and spacious. Room was a little far out, right at the back in the annex of the hotel. Also, breakfast was not a particularly pleasant experience, this was not due to the hotel staff, rather other guests who were there at the same time.
The rooms were really good and beds were very comfortable I didnt like the other guests banging on doors and generally being very noisy through the night
the cleanliness of the room
the comfortable and clean place
Well maintained, in fact, I'm sure the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard since my last stay in 2007. The breakfast room could be set out better to accommodate individuals, couples and families who wish to dine together rather than the large communal place setting of the tables.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, the room was clean and well heated.
the hotel was clean comparing to the standard no reception 24h
Great location and transport available 24 hrs. Close to many tourist attractions. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Free internet and McDonalds right next to the hotel. The bathroom was bit small, but alright.
The location - far from the center and not very secure.
Staff was nice. A kettle!!
Speaking on behalf of the guests:The location and rate. I am speaking on behalf of the guests:The receptionist was rude when I asked what room number we were staying in, as he sarcastily said 'of course I will tell you your room number', he showed no charm or any concept of what a receptionist's attitude should be vis a vis good customer service, a smile doesn't cost anything and means a lot. He would actually put you off going there again and indeed the group I am speaking on behalf of won't, nor recommend it.
the co-resident mouse in next twin bed.! probably the mouse
Friendly reception,Television and shower. and nice and quiet!.
The room was clean, warm, close to the centre of the city.
the access from the rail sation, buses stop was good and easy to reach
Basic, but clean, cheap and perfect WLAN. Keep in mind there is no breakfast served and the neighbourhood is really outside central London.
All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The room was generous in size, certainly for London.
Super hotel. Very pleasant staff. Like an oase in middel of busy city. Would like frigde in family rooms. Relaxed atmosphere. Helpful. Beautiful hotel, boys think it is oldfashioned, but I find that charming.
Staff was polite, restaurant staff excellent, the room was confortable and quiet. The room given on the first night was not corresponding to the family room booked on your site. Booking com was blaimed by the Hotel for this situation. We were moved to a more appropriate room for the next night. Checking at the reception is a slow process and a lot of time was lost in sorting out the confusion about the room
The location, comfort and ambience were second to none. The restaurant and bar staff do not appear to be trained at all - service was extremely poor and not in keeping wwith a 5 star hotel
I loved the room and the facilities, the food and service was excellent and I would stay at the hotel again. The staff especially were very friendly and helpful.
The staff was great. Rooms were spacious. Luxurious. Location was amazing. I loved it.
comfortable beds. big spacious rooms. clean bathroom. newly decorated. noisy heater/air con. why can't there just be radiators?
It was very peacefull great place to relax no
Helpfull stuff, good location, nice views, proximity to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and London Eye, comfortable beds. The hotel is very tired and old fashioned, a little gloomy, small rooms, endless corridors, we had to walk to our room from the elevator like 400 meters.
close to all the things London has to offer spa pool and surrounds should be renovated
I loved the location of the hotel!! We didn't realize that our view would be Big Ben, House of Parliment, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye. We were central to many of the attractions which made planning convienent (we only had to walk 5 mins for all of the above attractions and 10 mins for Buckingham Palace). We were also within walking distance to the tube, which was also easy to use:) I also loved the Concierge and Reception. They were all knowledgeable and helpful in assistancing us if needed. I was disappointed that the Spa and pool were not up to Marriot standards. I have stayed at several and when there was 'down time' I could count on being able to entertain the children in the pool area. The pool was small and the children were constantly in the way of those doing laps. Also, I did not see the whirlpool, even though it was listed as having one. Finally, the breakfast was great but expensive (20 pounds) considering that just around the corner in the same building, another hotel had the same breakfast for 7 pounds.
The friendly staff and the fact that it is near to the Oval and close to where I need to visit in London.
good staff first impression outside is grim, plants or something to cheer it up
Welcoming and helpful staff in spite of a very brief stay.
Breakfast and dining room
go to the Brixton academy concert too much expensive for the value, not enought twin rooms, rooms with one double bed!!!
The room was clean and the en-suite bathroom has been recently renovated. Not much space but enough! A minor thing: I would have liked one more towel (we had only 1 each)
It was just 5 minutes from Brixton Accadmy by car. The breakfast was very poor.
Location - it was very close to oval underground station Poor breakfast - only toasts and cereal, some dirty, cracked walls in the room.
Cheap and cheerful Niose from tubes and soundproofing from other room
Everything was very clean, which is very important for the people who shared the bathroom with other guests. I really liked the shower! The girl at the reception was really helpful on the phone when we had trouble finding the place. She was also very nice to give us some advice on where to have a good pizza! It was a bit hard to find. And the Clapham Common underground station is a good 13 minutes walk far! Which is very tiring if you have big and heavy luggage with you and you don't really know where to go. Also I wasn't aware of the bus service available. I could hear every step taken by the guests in the above room and the tv was way too high on the wall, I could barely hear it. Tea making facilities would be nice in the room.
Quite pricy (£35) for a small room with shared bathroom and no breakfast or kitchen facilities
The environment was neat and the hotel is close to a bus stop. The double room was too small to be so-called. Facilities for writing like good table and chairs were not availble. Receiving guests was difficult as furniture was not provided for this.
Location near railway station and other public transport Hard to find staff to talk to
everything all right,good staff,clean room..
Very nice hotel, well cared for, and simple with no frills. Exactly what I wanted and at a good price for London. None apart from the short commute and initial finding the place. The price and nice room made up for it for a budget, low maintenence traveler.
The hotel was very clean, close to the underground and there where many bus stations close by.Really helpfull stuff. Many pubs and places to eat close by!great value for money. There wasnt any stairs and not all rooms have private bathrooms.
The location of the hostel was great! My first night there, I walked into town to see the London Eye, Parliament/Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. Then, I walked back. Round trip: 1 h, 30 mins. The hostel is also close to a Tube station, so getting anywhere is a breeze. Staff were friendly, price was good, and there was a good mix of travellers. Close to a major road, so you get a lot of noise :( Only two showers and two toilets between approx. 25 people. I'm actually quite surprised it wasn't too much of an issue. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner.
