location in central Manchester Room was a dump - wardrobe door hanging off.
It was close to the centre which made it easy to get to the shops etc
Closeness to team and stadium.
Convenience for locality to Bridgewater hall where I was performing in a concert that evening! There was a wedding party on in the main function suite which was fine but which seemed to take over the whole hotel!
entrance and hall very imposing room and halls on 5th floor could be better maintained
As usual the breakfast is really good as is the location The room didn't have a window, issues with the air conditioning being red hot, the beds were rock hard and general up keep and cleansiness of the bathroom is well below standard
The magnificent central staircase and the general grand appearance of the interior. Our first room was very small. The shower did not work. The radio via the TV did not work. There was a nasty stain on the carpet. Extra towels were hidden in the wardrobe. As this room was on the ground floor we kept awake by the nightclub.
Everything outside of my room My room! tiny, wallpaper falling off, mold on ceiling, rust on bath. Rank!
The great staff.excellent breakfast, very central what small faults in room were corrected very quickly,
Loverly hotel, made feel very welcome, Heating in room too hot unable to turn down. Inform staff did give us a fan in mins but still mafting. We went into the jenny's about 6.00pm for a cavery. The food came out of the kitchen was cold,we informed staff.
Being close to the centre of town and the men Arena, which was why I chose it. There was a wedding party in the hotel that night so there was quite a lot of noise, and we could hear everything that was happening next door.
Poor wifi availability, and poor connection even in the public areas. The toilet in my room didn't flush properly, I had to 'pump' it to get it to flush. Very dated overall. Breakfast was very average. Very over priced for the quality.
Nice setting and location, good breakfast and friendly staff. Needs investment certain things looking old now, my first stay years ago was very impressive it seems more like a 4 star now and the little touches aren't there like before.
Modern "boutique" feel to decor & rooms. Central location. Decent leisure facilities. Buffet breakfast was a bit old-fashioned and not in keeping with quality of hotel.
the hotel was lovely and the room very comfortable with lovely facilities we were on room only as that was the special rate we got but we didn't have breakfast as it was far too expensive
Clean, comfortable and convenient
Loved the location in Central Manchester. Made it very easy to get around. Opus bar was fabulous and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Room was lovely and made for a great experience.
The cleansers were super nice people Dear Madame. Because of your totally unacceptable behaviour, to our Guests and Staff, we will no longer be accepting any further bookings from you, and indeed you are not welcome at all in this Hotel . No further correspondence from yourself, will be responded to from Edwardian Hotels. Stephen Miles FIH MI General Manager T: +44 (0) 161 835 8957 M: +44 (0) 797 3128852 E: email@example.com W: edwardian.com We booked a suit got there realized it was small, stayed 2 nights and took an extra room.Day 3 we booked a two bedroom suit which really isn't it's just them bringing two rooms together. We were shown a suit with a balcony & since my artist is super claustrophobic and has a lot of luggage we agreed to that.Upon going to pay they claimed someone booked that particular room for 2 nights and we booked it right with them less than an hr ago for 3 nights. These super racist hotel people just because the person was black almost even lied they never showed us the room.We left the hotel and booked a huge 3 bedroom penthouse suit somewhere else.Mind u we had no issues we these people we just decided to leave after realizing it was more of a racist thing, I forgot to mention their services suck, they barely help with anything like umbrellas and opening doors smh we never even had a conversation with any one except the manager the day we left but go this email today claiming we were rude to their guests.
Staff were exceptional, service excellent. Standard of toiletries in a five star hotel was not as good as I expected.Shower was not great.
cleanliness, attentiveness of staff when required, decor, closeness for requirements of city shops and arena for concert pool change area is small, there was a hen party there for the day getting treatments in the spa and there were no lockers available so we had to take everything into the pool area! Lifts were a problem- a number of us (guests) had encoutered room cards that didn't work in lifts- my mother who I was travelling with hates lifts and we got stuck!
All the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic with everything we needed
We were made very welcome during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. -
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was first class.
That it was close to a place that we wanted to visit
An excellent breakfast with very pleasant staff. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable.
Leaving The room.
went to the take that concert
Great location Our room was quite narrow and had a strange smell, really small faults.
The room was comfortable, the shower amazing and service / breakfast great. We also really enjoyed the pool / sauna after breakfast and found the check in/ check out times really reasonable so we were not rushing. Also we booked a twin room as a double was not available but then when we came to check in we were given the option of a double which was just what we wanted. The only negative comment I wqould make would be regarding the size of the pool you definitely cant use it for swimming as exercise as it's way too small!!
the staff were excellent very friendly and informative, nothing was too much trouble bathroom door did not shut to! room 636
Relaxed atmosphere in a convenient location for shopping, restauarants and bars. Bathroom clean, but looked a bit old & tired.
Central location Vert tatty decor, room very small for the price
the building and public areas and the function i attended at the hotel 2 days before my stay i received a call from the hotel cancelling my reservation for myself and my 6 guests due to overbooking. after a lot of difficult conversations my reservation was reinstated the next day. This is completely unnaceptable and caused a lot of concern
The bar/restuarant Being woke at 3am due to rail works directly outside my bedroom window
most comfortable bed i have ever slept in! successful fusion of old an new styles.. the sink was blocked and i forgot to tell them - room 203
The staff were quietly efficient and helpful. Found traffic noise a little overbearing. Booking my meal on line proved not to be value for money as our meal was less that that stated on line, but we still had to pay original price.
The room was very impressive and comfortable. Also, there was a lot on offer for breakfast.
the fact west ham won at old trafford ! jokes apart the service and freindly approach of all the staff no
Luxurious room, furnishings and curtains etc.
beautifull building, restaurant and reception very beautifull, good location bad aisles, labyrinth to reach the room, room old fashion
Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Old fashioned tv. Very few luxuries in the bedroom/bathroom.No shower cap or hair conditioner for my wife. A little disapointed with the breakfast set up in the morning. We normally have one person waiting table but that didnt happen, just people wandering around.
Reasonably good hotel in a good city centre location A little noisy at night, lacks a nice lounge or somewhere really relaxing for a seat a drink and a chat with friends.
Obsidian bar and menu No parking
Friendly Staff, good location generaly a very nice Hotel Eat Out
The location can't be beat-. Close to shipping, bars and the Christmas markets. Could not have been happier with my choice. As a major plus, the staff was amazingly helpful.
Room v. clean and comfortable, quiet and roomy. Breakfast excellent. Reception was busy and a little slow but staff were friendly.
Perfect location to stroll into the city.
The modern interior to a old building. The location of the hotel was perfect, next to China Town. When we got to our room, someone else's luggage was there. However, going to reception thinking we had someone else's room, they took the bags away swiftly.
Very friendly reception staff and the beds were great.
the location was very good and within walking distance to the shops and the tram if you need to travel further, staff were helpful and the bar in the hotel was good and lively i felt our room was quite small
friendly helpful staff, lovely rooms and very comfortable beds! very central for china town nothing
The parking facillities/costs
Its location to city centre Lack of hygiene in bedroom
Hotel is in a central location therefore very handy. Nothing to report on this.
A nice hotel, very well placed for Manchester Piccadilly train station and thecentre of Manchester. Helpful staff (even booked us taxis to and fro as it was freezing!). Very tasty and fresh breakfast too. Slightly dated interior and quite noisy from outside as in room at front of hotel - no noise reduction/double glazing.
close to station wallpaper coming off walls / decor needs changing
The bed had a great nights sleep and the location was brill The room could have a little bit clean and the staff could have been friendly - not a single smile
It was just the perfect location : city centre, trams just at the door step, train station to go the the airport just a few minutes away! The shower was unpractical, getting extremely warm then very cold all the time. The room we were staying in was just next to the boiler room, which made a tremendous noise every 10 min or so, which means we could not open the window at night for some fresh air. But it was ok with the window closed.
We were in a room overlooking the square and although we couldn't turn the radiators off, it was a quiet, very comfortable room. Thank you
Convenience of getting to main attractions and shopping as well as being close to a train station The room did not have the main/big lights, only table lamps. Very squicky floor, I was concerned about making too much noise and disturbing occupants below at night time.
It is well located in city centre and was convenient for the purpose I stayed.I shall again if neeeded None
Good location for a quick overnight stay Noise from main road at front of building and cold let through by lack of double glazing which meant that on a bitterly cold night, even though sleeping next to a radiator I had to raid another bed for extra blankets to get warm. Room lighting a bit poor and decor generally in room and hotel looking a bit shabby. Shower not very controllable. Spacious room though - intended to sleep 3 and would have done so without feeling cramped.
It was an enjoyable weekend. The bar man on Friday/Saturday & Sunday Night was outstanding.
Game Old Trafford No
Yes I just wish it was cheaper so I could have ate a breakfast and I also wish it could have been kept on longer as drinking the night before and early breakfasts are just not supoosed to fit together. So to sum it up, I think the cost of the brekkie should be included in the main price I payed and it should be untill at least 11:00am finish on a weekday.
Everything! The hotel is in a great location, the staff are friendly and helpful and hotel was clean, comfortable and very up-to-date.
excellent service, promt checking in and out and very friendly staff no
This Hotel is very shabby and in need of a complete overhaul.
breakfast and being so close to town centre was building work so unfair to comment
1 Location, 2 Modern with lift is a must when you carry a baby with pushchair.
though i booked double bed they have joined 2 twin beds and the beds were not quite comfortable, more than the bed,the pillows.pl.look into this,I stayed here abt 6m ago,i liked it thats why i booked at the same place,i might choose others for the next time.
the staff wear helpful & courteous it is in a poor state of repair 7 requires major renovation.
The location of the hotel is ideal for shopping, and is situated right beside the main bus stops and trams. The breakfast was superb every morning with an excellent choice to suit all tastes. The service from bar staff was very poor. We waited 40 minutes for our order to be taken. Most of the waiting staff were incompetent! Reception was poorly staffed also, waited 25 minutes at reception to book a taxi. Room cleaning was also minimal, towels were not replaced and rooms weren't cleaned until after 3pm most days
the location of hotel in th city, near places of interest the decor of the rooms was very outdated
comfortable room & really helpfull staff
The hotel is located in the city centre and has all the modern facilities. I like the fact that there are irons and trouser presses in each room and the breakfast was great. It was a bit hot, But I believe we could change the temperature in the room
location in the centre of Manchester, close to everything. 3 lifts for 14 floors.
I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself is in a wonderful location for shopping.
Beautiful building, with a very grand reception area, good customer service in the bar and bedrooms very clean and comfortable. In the hallways there are pictures/collages of interesting facts about the hotel history. Not very personal (boutique style) more corporate style of hotel.
the receptionist Kirsty was excellent.
the room was amazing the price of swimming costumes was too expensive
Completely comfoprtable and centrally located. Large room. Prices in Britain are high -- that is a fact of life -- and the Midland is expensive -- but I really am not complaining. It was proably the most comfortable hotel we stayed at in a 3 week visit to the UK.
Clean rooms and courteous staff
I have stayed here several times, excellent location, top class facilities. only minor fault is prices in bar, but I guess this has to be expected given the location / hotel
Central location and beautiful christmas decorations Being unable to open a window for health and safety reasons. Air conditioning is noisy, un green and not as good as fresh air at night.
ther was noise from the next room after midnight and it took two phone calls to reception before the noise was stopped.
Great location, beautifully renovated old building great Q hotels standard and very welcoming, highly trained staff that gave you service with a smile nothing was too much trouble we certainly were very well looked after during our stay Thankyou hotel did not accept our booking for dinner at £25 rate as advertised by yourselves but after staying there we realised this was probably due to the hotel being very busy that weekend with private functions other than this we had no complaints at all
Proximity to city centre Room was described as executive twin - did not match up to this description. State of bathroom very poor.
The man on reception who was very polite, very patient and tried his best I did get my supposedly up-graded room changed back to the originall lower graded room which wasn't nearly as bad. The room - bath filthy (I mean it) and broken, room very very smelly and very cold with no functional heating. window overlooked filth and razor wire
The location. Ideal for Picaddily station and the airport train. Much better than airport hotels as the whole of Manchester centre is yours for the night. My favourite pubs, Marble Arch and Jolly Angler both close by. The room itself. When I entered my first thought was that the curtains were the same design as the wallpaper. Then I realised that it was wallpaper and there was no window. Practical though.
good location friendly staff
Rundown, shabby Everything
central location Heating doesn't work dirty bathroom damaged tap on bathtub flush lavatory doesnt't act up
the central location the air conditioning control unit was not working. The room got very hot! (room 207)
The location Staff attitude - damp and dated interior of bedroom - decor/repair of floor finished to very poor standard. Room was not ready at 2.30 although we were told it was (communication problem) then given a smaller room to what was paid for that was ready. Maid very rude at 10.10 in the morning, saying she wanted to clean the room - when i don't have to leave the room until 11am. This was reported to the reception who apologised and said that they would have words with the cleaner.
The hotel had all the facilities that a visitor to Manchester would need and I found the staff helpful and courteous and the central location is a big bonus, breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food and in the evening I had dinner in the restaurant and the waiter was considerate and polite The hotel could do with some investment in the general decoration nothing was in a bad state of repair, just looking a little dated. In the evening I had dinner in the hotel and was I little disappointed that the one item on the menu that I wanted was not available.
Great food in the restaurant. Close to the city centre. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it has to be mentioned that the hotel is located in what is called "Gay Village" by locals. The street is packed with gay bars and the hotel itself seemed to be very gay-friendly as well.
Fantastic Hotel in a Fantastic Location.
The comfort of the rooms and the warm lovely welcome from all staff who could not do enough to help you! Everything was faultless.
Fantastic location on the end of Canal Street with a close walk to most everything. Very lush and romantic accomodation, nice room service breakfast, lovely toiletries provided (Burt's Bees brand)in the room. Somewhat loud at night, due to being between several pubs/nightclubs...not really a problem but might be if you are a light sleeper
Good location and nice hotel. Would stay again.
The management made an effort to work the hotel weel. Lights in bathroom were not all working and even if they were its not bright enough. Lift too slow.
The central location is great for shopping and going out at night and a great, friendly bar forms part of the hotel; we were pleasantly surprised to get our first drink free (a nice welcoming touch). The design, cleanliness and comfort in the rooms is exceptional. The attention to detail in the room is also very good; there is everything you want on hand and if it isn't, you are made to feel as though you could ask, as the majority of the hotel staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. Also like the fact that there is a restaurant on site if you don't wish to go out into the city; however, we did not use the restaurant for reasons relayed to the hotel in a feedback letter. Although there was an extensive and varied breakfast menu, the service on the first morning was much to be desired and the staff serving need some customer service training quickly as this let it down - not that anyone was rude, just untrained and unaware - breakfast was good. A different person was serving the second morning and the service was better, however, the food was very undercooked and staff failed to notice anything was wrong, therefore I went hungry. What a shame, as this is the only thing that let it down.
coffee/fizz brought to our room on arrival parking was a good 5 minute walk away, no lighting at the dressing table or in the shower cubicle
I stayed at this hotel with a work collegue for a conference which was held at the GMEX. The location was great for the conference, train station, shops and bars. The rooms were amazing. The hotel was clean, breakfast was great and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The rooms were fantastic, I loved the little added touches that made the whole stay even better. The staff were brilliant, even extending breakfast time just for us. Would go back in a shot. Didn't want to leave in the morning. We could hear the tv in the next room early next morning, and also the noise from the back of the bar/hotel where glass bottles were being emptied into the recycling.
The room, the furniture and the Internet I would not consider the so called breakfast they offered as a breakfast, there were only serving croissants, apples and banans and there were no plates!
The layout of the rooms were excellent Friendly staff, location in the city and siz of room
very close to the china town, and the room is big, the service is really very friendly.
Location and quality of internal fixtures & fittings External appearance is awful and rooms bear little resemblence to photos on the website - very small. Whole of one window covered by a Roomzzzzzz advertising screen!
Well equipped rooms , friendly staff , great location , just wished I had more time to enjoy it !!
Location tops the staff were welcoming and helpful the room was of a high boutique standard. I paid £75 for a room I would gladly have paid double that amount for. Just one niggle traffic noise but what do you expect in a city centre.
Loved the i-mac in the room and the fast, easy access to the internet with built in dvd player. I thought I had booked room-only, so was pleased to discover the continental breakfasts. The decor of the room was modern and it felt light and bright - with a fantastic shower. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times. There is very easy access to the city centre - most attractions are within walking distance, and the complimentary city centre bus stops very close to the hotel for connections to Picadilly Station and Salford. The noise from the road, but I don't suppose there is much you can do about that. It's the price paid for staying somewhere so central.
The location was perfect, minutes walk from shops, bars etc. The room was clean and everything we needed for a weekend break, however the carpet was stained in places. A full length mirror and a few more hooks in the bathroom would be a bonus for us girlies!!!
Rooms were spotless and very well designed. Great to have a kitchen in your room as it gives you the option of doing your own food or eating out. I had to leave
Very modern, staff friendly, very clean, comfy king size beds ! Check in time on website is different to check in time when you arrive, so we had to wander around manchester for a while as the room wasn't ready, however the staff rectified this with a complimentary car parking ticket !! bonus !!
Clean room, friendly staff, surprisingly dark and quiet for innercity Manchester. Excellent price. Unfortuantely, lots of problems. There was no toilet in my room and the external one was across the stairlanding making nightime use rather difficult. Furthermore it had no soap and had run out of toilet paper. My room was a bit cold and the television did not work. The bed had a plastic undersheet which made it very uncomfortable. The breakfast hours were very restrictive. All easily fixable problems but made for a tough night. Still good value for money, however.
Location Old, musty smell. Noise from bar below.
No hot water, leaking skylight, no clean cutlery or glasses at breakfast, debris in milk. Decor shabby - wallpaper peeling off. No bar facilities, No toilet in room. Communal toilet covered in poo. No lift. Loud music from local club till 2.30am, Basically the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
Vicinity of the hotel to the the railway station and city center. The heating was too strong.
The staff were very friendly, it was central. It was clean but basic. I was happy with this beacause my expectations matched the online advertisement..good value for money. My evening shower was not the warmest..
horrendous place to stay
great central location at reasonable price there was obvious refurb work going on but i suppose this is only temporary and didn't really affect our stay. Oldham street can be pretty noisy in the middle of the night but can only really be expected with such a central location.
nothing no towels, breakfast consisted of bread, a kettle and toaster.
Good location Badly run, didnt feel comfortable staying there, dirty..housekeeping skills were atrocious.
in the centre. very good location some facility example: TV didn't work
