Great Hotel, great staff
Amazing service, incredibly thoughtful staff, and beautiful surroundings are expected at this hotel. 5 star service, 5 star price. Make sure you work out a way to include breakfast, as it is expensive, but divine. Be wary about the high valet prices. Overall, you pay for what you get and this property does not disappoint. High valet prices.
- Luxury. - The Value.
Very curteous concierge staff and personnel in general. Very clean.
Everything about the hotel and the stay. Nothing I didn't like
Shuttle service to shopping area (very convenient when carrying a lot of bags) close to train station, delicious breakfast Spa at hotel is overpriced and has mediocre spa service, otherwise hotel is fantastic!
A great true five star hotel. Excellent and knowledgeable concierge. Location is outside of the Montepoleone shopping district so a nice oasis to come home to at pIazza Republica. Great part was frequent Benz stretch limo pickup and drop off from the hotel to La Scala/ Duomo and Montepoleone area -- that was extreme helpful with kids. Had an upgrade which was appreciated and not asked for. Breakfast were absolutely excellent and included in our price. Champagne, full hot foods and fresh fruits and pastries. Will definitely be back!! My only minor tif was pool was closed for renos. Minor and everything was to our or beyond our expectations.
Very upscale with an attentive and helpful staff. The facilities and decor are kept in impeccable shape. The hotel is near the train station and there is a limo service to Piazza Duomo. Room service, mini-bar, and restaurant seemed excessively expensive, as is the charge for internet service.
Room decor Breakfast prices were ridiculously high and quality was horrible. They also rip you off. We dined a la carte for breakfast the first day but were charged for the super high priced buffet. The good itself was horrible. Second morning all we had was juice , crossaint and coffee and were once again ripped off. This hotel is a rip off. Only good for business people billing their companies. Hotel was not even able to correct our charges during check out leaving us a bet other taste of being ripped off.
all was excellent
for us not much was positive about this hotel unfortunately, we would definitely not go to this hotel ever again overpriced for five star hotel, poor hygiene in jacuzzi (growing mold on the side), tv did not work at first, nothing included in the initial room rate, exorbitant extra costs like 120 euros per night for pets (!!!), 22 euros or more per day for simple internet use, reception then also tried to charge us 20 euros extra per day for the already included buffet breakfast (the excuse was that american breakfast costs more than the continental breakfast, which was not advertised on the internet), taxi and concierge staff at the hotel entrance making fun and jokes about hotel clients in italian (unfortunately we understand italian very well...), tiny rooms, car key is taken away with or without the hotel client's permission and car is far away.
Opulent hotel, nice respite Pricey
The location of this hotel, only 5 minutes from the center, close to Duomo and the metro too. The staff were all helpful, the buffet breakfast had a good selection to choose from and was all very nice and fresh.
Most the location
politeness, and discreet staff
Location and friendly staff.
The check in procedure was really quick, they spoke English to us and gave us all the details we needed, then let us get on with our short break.
An extremely highly professionally run hotel, friendly & very informative staff. I required a doctor and the restaurant provided special dietry needs without any fuss.
location, value for money, amazing breakfast
Clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was helpful and polite. Awesome breakfast spread!
Professionalism and helpfulness of staff; excellent breakfast, choice of daily newspapers, etc. There were ashtrays in my "non-smoking" room; the walls and floor were dark.
We arrived in Milan in the AM and the hotel allowed us to check in when we got there even though it was well before the check-in time.
I liked the room, bathroom, clean bed every day, I liked the breakfast, the vicinity of the Piazza Duomo
Cleanliness, comfort & convenience. Beds & Pillows 110%. Bathroom excellent. There was no kettle in our room. Some of the rooms did have kettles, why not all then?
Great location for good value
Pre dinner drinks with great complimentary antipasto buffet Arriving with luggage to steps from the fornt door, no ramp and no staff to assist with baggage
The hotel was under remodelation and nobody told us. We had hammering and construction noises all day saturday and sunday.
only the very central position yes,it was.they have lost my night suit, and they dindn't make notinhg for find it.they answered in a very unpolitely way.
15 min. by walk to the center, very quiet, lot of bars around, polite and helpful staff, Good taxi service, much better than the city one. Nice breakfast. There is an excellent shop within 5 min. to by clever toys for children.
Very nicely renovated room, a feel of proper 4-star hotel. Staff willing to help out. Convenient location. Breakfast was not up to expectations. And there was still some construction going on in front of our window (they are renovating the 3 and teh 4 flor)
This is the second time me and my boyfriend stays in this hotel. It's a lovely modern hotel which sometimes is difficult to find in italy. Great rooms and soundproof walls. Location is also good for shopping, eating and drinking if you can manage to move away from your hotel-room. Me and my boyfriend had a brilliant time and can't wait to re-visit this place together. Sometimes the rooms can be very expensive at this hotel. The price seems to vary a lot.
Location All the rest: rude staff ( but not all), no service, renovation works
Bed and pillows were very comfortable The wallpapers were dirty
staff was very helpful and accomodating photos at booking.com indicated swimming pool, but ther4e is no pool. The spa was closed during our stay
Although we had a reservation for 3 nights, we've stayed there only one night because the conditions were like a 2 stars hotel.
The service was very good. The concierge advise very helpful. The location from our point of view was perfect with the shops and Duomo all close. We never ate in the hotel however I understand the restaurant to be very good.
reception staff wereunbeliveble bad.
I stayed for two nights the location of the hotel is exellent for somone who wants to do shopping in melan the colors and design of the rooms is outdated and the reception and lounge area is dim and lacks artificial lighting
Service is good, the location is excellent for shopping in Milan The classic number is not comfortable and very small, it was street view and it was very noisy in the morning.
Good location, helpful staff, decor and Trattoria Bagutta on Via Monte Napoleone The terrace on our room was a bit grubby, silly internet prices and no internet in room other than the tv.
I have always found the Carlton to have all ready upon my arrival. My room was available and all was in order. The staff is always very helpful and informative. You cannot beat the location of the hotel to the great shops. The one thing i find about my stay to need updating is the comfort of the bed. Mattress, pillows and possibly softness of sheets need some change. It is not the most comfortable.
1 Location is perfect for shopping! Just this! When they gave me the key from the room! The room was dirty! After they are changed the room! Air Condition system was broken! Lamp in the toilet was broken!
The bar and the staff there was a funny distinctive smell in the room and I don't know what was the cause.
it was very spacious. that the sheets had little hairs on them , even after they where changed
Junior suite was great. Breakfast was varied. Very nice staff.
Location is perfect. Very good breakfast. Rooms are clean, but need to be renovated.
spacious, clean room
room, service, price
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, spoke good english and gave us excellent local resturant advice. The room was very clean, we stayed in Milan after visiting several hotels around the region and this was the best for value and service. My mum thought the breakfast was top notch! Only a minor point, it was slighly difficult to locate. We had to call the hotel to try to find its location as it was situated behind a gated entrance behind another building not visible from the road. A good map would have been helpful, along with good written instuctions for driving to the hotel.
Beautifully decorated room. Well located near the train station though the sign board outside by the side of the road could be bigger. Will stay at UNA hotel on my next trip to Itay Please replace the roadside sgn board to something bigger and prominent.
step's kindness, comfortable, very nice place nothing
We were forced to book an additional room because we had a 3 year old baby with us while the booking site did not have the kids option. The additional room is even more expensive onsite while the hotel had low occupancy rate due to the season. Many restaurants nearby were closed as well due to the low season. No accommodation whatsoever for family travel. Don't recommend anyone this hotel if you might have any accommodation required. Or maybe their priority is just money, not the reputation or repeating business. So one and done for me.
Very convenient location, nice large, comfortable room, good rate. high speed internet access in the room would be nice, although it is in the lobby.
The breakfast abundant in various food. Room was spaacious. If I were a businessman or so, I could enjoy a exercise machine for sure but actually I am a normal aged woman. Because of this, the huge exercise machine equipped in the room gave the feeling somewhat out of place.
Lack of staff able to iron a shirt at 10pm. No housekeeper services available.
the staff were excellent - very inviting and welcoming. the room was very modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable. very close to all shopping and restaurants - excellent location.
Great location by the Duamo accompanied by helpful and efficient staff behavior
Location, Hotel Bar
central location & room we had was grand and spacious breakfast was so-so but then
very very nice position near Duomo. You can walk to the metro by walking. Hotel stuff are very helpfull and do their job well.
it was cold in the room
Style and comfort, very close to the Doumo I would have liked more cleanliness of the room and bathroom, especially, from the very first day, but this was corrected in next day
location. Right next to the Duomo and the Galleria. the breakfast room was a little pathetic. the chairs cut off the circulation to your lower legs and your feet fall asleep.
The staff was extremely helpful and they spoke English very well.
Friendliness of staff, central location and very good breakfast
Wonderful location and lovely room. Had trouble with WiFi that couldn't fix.
The room was spacious, with beautifully vaulted ceilings & comfortable atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious The parking around the hotel is very limited & expensive
Very friendly and helpful staff, their recommendations for food were excellent. Closely located to all the shopping. It was difficult to drive in that area of Milan because of the one way systems and get to the parking structure from the hotel
Great hotel, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Location was very good and only a few steps from the Metro which was handy. Some noise from the Metro heard early morning.
Beautiful hotel. Staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms were decent size and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic with a really good selection. Located on a busy road with quite a bit of traffic noise. Not much of a problem for us as we were there during November and could keep the window closed at night.
I stayed on the second floor and I would hear the underground train every time it passed. I did get used to it though. The sink and shower clogged up every time.
petit déjeuner excellent Some rooms are not wel isolated, you can hear your neighbour like he was in your own room... a bit annoying...
I liked everything to be honest nothing bad to say about the hotel as this the 2nd time we've been staying there.
Rather exclusief for a Best Western Hotel - large rooms - excellent breakfirst No facilities ( sport , pool ..)
Location Very freindly staff
The front desk representatives were helpful in giving us directions to nearby attractions. They also recommended a great dinner resturent for us! The hotel breakfast was excellent. None!
The Staff & Location No
excellently situated for visit to Milan
the location of hotel ( very close shopping areas and duomo) the price they dont have a doctor small rooms
almost nothing there was not aircon, and it was hot. the sleepers were pityful, made of paper and resisted nothing.
Excellent VFM 4 star hotel. Spotlessly clean hotel room, a very decent breakfast and a great location. In particular, if you are attending La Scala, then this is a superb location - only 700m away.
the location is perfect for shopping lovers! it was very quiet in the room, no noise. bed is comfortable. staff is nice. bathroom is clean the room was small but absolutely enough for one person.
Centrally locted, good price, high class hotel
I really appreciated that they let me check into my room early as I had just come off of an international flight.
Great and helpful stuff, nice breakfast, great concierge russian guy working in reception refuse to help with upgrade possibility on my arrival, but the Italian Lady took over and was very helpful and immediately assisted with providing bigger room
Excellent location, helpful staff, Quiet and comfortable. Great breakfast!
Hot drink making facilities, comfortable clean bed, bath as well as shower. no English speaking facilities on TV also pay films for UK travellers are old. CNN was not working nor Bloomburg which is free not able to be viewed could not get latest news.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful. The fact that it's very close to Milan Central Station is definetly a plus.
Room was a bit old and front desk staff was not very friendly. However the buffet breakfast spread is good, hotel is very close to the main train station (you can see it once you get off the airport express bus, on the left of the station) and the greatest plus point is their wonderful bed and pillows! You can actually select the type of pillows you want...only learnt of this on checking out :p The room we stayed in was old (room 608) and was odd shaped. The bathroom is very small and the shower 'cubicle' has no proper stall with only a shower curtain to kee the water from wetting everything else.
Comfortable and equipped room, perfect location for travellers, great breakfast. 100 meters from a shuttle to Malpensa, safe surroundings despite the reputation of the area. The default check out time is late
Concierge and staff keen to help. The breakfast room is well serviced and table clothes changed for each guest. There is a large range of fruits cereals and cappuccino. Cooked food is provided Hot water was cold, having to be run off for several minutes before it wamed up enough to use. Its not inconvenient but you can imagine the waste.
Location right next to Central train station, and not far from city centre. Modern, clean, comfortable. Great staff. great value.
the people were nice, the "coffee/tea bar" was great. it was so close to the station
Good location just a walking distance to the airport bus stop, central train station, metro, bus station and tram. The drain in the shower room didn't work properly.
Location- just right. The stay was very pleasent. Price is worth the value. The breakfast staff was very freindly. The hotel is more like a 3 star - The room was a little old wide but with an odd shape.
convenient location (right next to the station). Beautiful rooms and decor. Very helpful staff. Great price.
Restuarant staff very nice pleasant people the bed was so hard and only news channels on tv in english tv was changed for new digital one but system needs to catch up with it lol
fresh breakfast, location even we booked non smoking room, it stink from the cigarets
central, very nice and romantic room no internet wireless
location very old room
lareg rooms & the size of the bed
Breakfast was good -- varied, tasty, and fresh. Good location -- minutes to Duomo and other places of interest. TV had free channels in a variety of languages. Everything (except what I list under "didn't like") else was just fine. In addition to what I pre-paid while booking, I was charged 5 euros per day for some sort of cover/tax/fee -- does not seem right. The front desk clerk was polite, well-informed, and spoke good English, but his breath smelled unhealthy. The shoe-shining machine on my floor was out of creme. I reported the problem Saturday afternoon, but it remained unaddressed through Sunday and Monday morning, when I left. The hotel's plumbing and other fixtures are ancient -- even if in good repair. For example, I was unable to figure out, how to raise the water-temperature in the shower to my liking.
The breakfast is very good and the location is perfect.
The location is good...very accessible to the places we'd like to go to.
services in the restaurant
Very central - Close to Tram and Metro Rooms are small and dark. Quite Expensive
The staffs are very kind, especially the ones at the check-in counter. The guy at night shift empathically helped me when I had a problem to connect to their wireless internet. We cannot have such a real sympathetic service in other hotels in recent years. We couldn't solve the problem with my PC, then he let me rent a USB vodafone wireless device which the hotel had contract with.
The kindness and helpfulness of all the staff The high price of the parking
helpful staff, centrally located, cleanliness
Good location, although on a main throughfare, ease of access into the city was unparrelled. Yes there is Satelite TV , but only one english language channel and that was CNN.
People Low ratio comfort/rate
very good breakfast, kids are welcome, rooms are a bit small but clean. The center is at walking distance for shopping or visiting the city. By walking the Hotel it is a bit far from the Navigli (for dinner) and from the Parco delle Basiliche (where are playgrouds for children) , about 20min and with small children sometime it is not easy... But by taxi it is only few minutes.
Room was nicely furnished and comfortable. Lady at reception did not welcome us or give any information such as where and when breakfast was available. We were not thanked on departure when we paid our bill - reception staff talked to each other and we were taken for granted.
Lcation is near the central station and very convenience.Hotel staff is very efficient and room is useful.
As far as I am comcerned, this is the best hotel, in Milan, to stay at if you are taking a train or plane in a day or two. The train station is across the street from the hotel and you can easily walk to and from. It has local and long distance trains. You can catch a bus to the airport at the train station too. If you have several pieces of luggage, a bellman will assist you in taking the luggage to the bus. They have a nice restaurant and the people are very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and have stayed there many times.
The location is excellent, just a few foot steps from the Metro. The room was big enough and very clean. The staff was very helpful and nice. The controls of the heating system didn't really work and it was a bit too hot in the room.
The hotel was a few steps from the Milan Central Station. The area around the hotel was fine and the staff were very professional, courteous and friendly. Everything in the room was nice and updated. The bathroom was spacious and included a Whirlpool tub. The window curtains could be electrically opened and closed to the touch of a button. The mini bar included complimentary sodas, water and snacks. The full breakfast was very nice and even included fresh squeezed orange juice. I highly recommended this hotel. When I return to Milan I'll be happy to stay here again. Nothing to dislike.
The bathroom is very good In the room not tea servises
Great location, great breakfast, wifi works well. Pretty good experience Didn't know there was city tax to pay for every night at the check out other than the reservation charges online. Just some unexpected expense.
Steps away from Milano Centrale Station! The staff were very friendly. The room was very comfortable. We left too early to try the breakfast. The decor could be upgraded as it looks very dated. It was probably a luxury hotel with top notch technology in the early 90's/80's. It was kind of fun to check out the vintage tech. Overall though we were very comfortable.
It was clean elegant and centrally located
We like the jacuzzi in the bathroom which we find very relaxing and comfortable after one day of shopping. Also the early check-in time which is 10am and not the usual 12pm for most hotels, this is very convenient for us as we arrive by train in Milan at around 9am and can check in early to rest for a while. Also the location is excellent, very near the train station and its very easy to find. Breakfast spread is excellent.
It seems that the reservation did not indicate "non-smoking_. I was thus given a smoking room which was not acceptable and promptly changed. My profile indicates no smoking and the getaroom site did not ask.
the staff where wonderful and particularly the bell desk boys..!
Location, room, breakfast spread - everything was perfect. Dinner served at the hotel restaurant is also very good. Wifi - it did not work at all. In today's world it is mandatory to have this facility, in an easily accessible way.
Convenient location. Breakfast room is very small for the size of hotel.
convenience, clean if they charge the night that I did not stay. ie I book 3 nights and I need to leave early so that I stayed 2 nights instead but IF they charged me 3 night coz I booked 3. Initially that's what one of the front office staff told me. But when I checked out they did not which is much more fair. Otherwise, I won't go back for sure and must warn all other travelers.
Great rooms, good breakfast, close to central train station and bus shuttle. Excellent all around.
The staff, the comfort and the location. The double room is clean, spacious, the bed's are comfortable and the peaceful vibe!
Good location for all types of transport to airport and city
Very polite & willing to help personel average breakfast
The location is very good and the breakfast was wonderful. Staff were quite helpful. The room was very hot and the air-cond didnt work.
This is a gem of a hotel. The location across the street from the main train station in Milan (and across from where the Malpensa Express buses drop off arriving international travellers) is very helpful. The staff was efficient, friendly, and informative. The hotel is superbly furnished and is extremely quiet with an understated luxury that is very appealing. The bed was ultra comfortable, with luxurious linens, the towls in the bathroom were also plush and luxurious in their feel. A full range of amenities of every sort desirable is available. I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels across the world, and I must say that this hotel compares quite nicely with them as long as you don't miss being oceanfront or having a pool.
Very nice furnished rooms The location was not quiet
nice location near central station, nice room
location the room as per the booking was superior double but was not up to the mark.
Great location just outside the central station and metro at the end of the street. Complimentary tea/coffe/water/snacks in the lounge. Great breakfast. Hotel staff very friendly and efficient. nothing.
The hote is situated only 200 meters from Milan's main train station, there's free internet connection, the breakfast buffe is good. It is completely nonsmoking hotel. I would like more open t.v. channels.
The location and the lake-facing balcony room. In November, the town is mostly shut down.
for milano good price adn for italy not bad breakfast the room was very small and old furnished...
Everything! Brilliant staff, brilliant location, brilliant weather! The breakfast was unbelievable.
I Liked The Mini Bar In The Room With Free Soft Drinks And Water, Also The Breakfast Was Excellent With a Great Selection Of Hot And Cold Food, The Staff Were Very Friendly And Helpfull.
Friendly staff, good location, value for money
The hotel well located. A good value for money hotel. My rating 9.5/10 No almond crossants anymore.....oh well.
The hotel was very central and fairly quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had the most apalling smell in the bathroom, which the manager said was atmospheric pressure!!!!. They did move us, but I think it was a problem in the hotel. The room was smaller than I would have expected from the web-site photos. The swimming pool was pond-like.The breakfast was not as good as other hotels that I have stayed in, in the same class.
Concierge not knowledgeable about city.
Excelent location, near Duomo and various shops and restaurants. Room a bit small
Location Room was very small. Requested larger room but none available.
It is very well located, at 100 meters from Duomo and 200 m from the Galleria V.E. Mattress was not in its best shape. It had two depressions that made the night difficult for a person with back pain. If it's your case, inspect the room before check-in.
location only. to snoby service, not friendly: not comfortable bed, very itchy blankets:room service who sneaks to my room and turns air-conditioner off-sign do not disturb was posted at the door.
location & comfort would not use it at rack rate. front office staff not so good
Fantastic location. Small rooms and some grumpy staff, facilities somewhat worn.
Location The walls of the rooms are draped with tissue which fills up with bacteria.Toilets were a little old. Some of the staff is grumpy
excellent staff, prime location
Staff was very helpful. The hotel is the Navigli area, nice for an evening walk and meal.
Calmness of the area The hotel rating as 4 stares. it deserves lower rating
The breakfast was superb, the room was clean and the bed is perfect for relaxation. There are central air conditoning and this means that only the receptionist is able to adjust. We asked him all the time to switch on or off, as it was needed.
Location is good. Not noisy, but close to Ticinese. Elevators are old (not fitting to the hotel style) and air conditioning was almostly not working.
Great design, beautifull rooms. Friendly staff, great location (metro, canals)
The comfort of the rooms.
Location, Overall good Quality, good value for Money The welcome "Aperitivo" is cheap stuff, the guys at the reception are not so friendly, but these are peanuts.
It was superb value for money
Location close to downtown and recreation. Reasonable price. Good breakfast. I found ants in the room
The staff was very accommodating, even letting me check out a little late after I had to find an internet shop to change a my travel plans. It's very near the Canals and its bars and cafes. Good price for the area. I think they are still renovating. The rooms are nothing special, and it can get a bit noisy (if you are facing a street) until the bars close. Positives outweigh these small negatives.
The room was fantastic. Good location and the staff absolutely great. I will use this hotel again in the future and i will suggest to my company.
Great hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. I was disturbed by noise outside my room and they swiftly gave me another. Comfortable beds, lots of pillows and English speaking movies on pay-tv. A/C quiet and effictive. Good breakfast and location on shopping streat right by trams and metro. Nothing to not like
convenient to subway and excellent facilities Milan is expensive!
When i checked out the hotel clerk was ignoring me by not even looking at me abn d he pretended he couldn't here me. However, in overall, the staffs were friendly.
I had the single standard room so it was a little small but perfect for me. The bed was a lot more comfortable than most hotel beds. It was in a great location on the biggest shopping street in Milan.
The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The location was excellent for getting about the city and a good selection of shops were within walking distance.
The hotel was in a great location on the town piazza, walking distance to the train and bus stations, clean, had English speaking television channels, surrounded by great restaurants and shops, and offered a great breakfast. The gentleman behind he front desk was not friendly nor helpful. He acted put out with any question we asked. Our tv remote did not work. The woman at the front desk sent someone to fix it and we were able to get an English speaking channel until we turned it off and then it wouldn't wok again.
Very good location. Kind hotel staff. Good offer for room, well made food in restaurant. We was first time and had double room with very, very small shower for one person all so it was in poor condition. I was not nice to offer for costumers first time room with problems like that.
The reception was friendly and competent. As soon as I requested, I was without any problem given a newer and more comfortable room. The breakfast was also good with variety of choices, despite many other hotels in Italy. The first room i was given was kind of old. The bathroom and appliances needed renovation. The walls were incredibly thin, I could hear next door, watching TV and speaking loud on the phone.
It was very clean and close to public transportation. Although it was great how close to public transportation the hotel was, the entire building was vibrating when a train was approaching the station.
the room was nice and cozy, was easy to find it, good placed near to Metro and Dome, the breakfast was quite reach. We forgot the camera and the maid found it and handed it to us when we came back to look for it.. The receptionist was a bit confused and not that helpful regarding instructions and the parking number as seemed they did not know which parking place is occupied and which not, so we had to go back to reception and back to garage 2-3 times (as we found the advised number closed, then we realized is occupied so we finally got another number..). we observed when leaving that happened the same, when an American couple came to park their car. We received and accepted apologies.
nice breakfast, good location There was no coffee tea facilities provided, have to go down to ask for just only hot water which staff quite not helpful...very inconvenience.
