The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic and more than helpful. I am coeliac and had brought food for my breakfast and they were very happy to prepare this every morning for me. The pool area and loungers and view of the lake from the sitting out area was beautiful. We really had a relaxing stay. The only thing was the drinks in the hotel were a bit expensive but we partly guessed that they would be as we were not booking it as a backpackers stopover.
Lovely, friendly staff and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were fantastic! The rooms were nice although maybe a little bland!
Position was fantastic. staff very attentive. Good food. Walls slightly too thin. Can hear noisy neighbours at night
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our time at the Hotel Continental. The location was great a 2 minute walk to the town. So not as noisey as the hotels in the centre. The service and staff were friendly and very helpful. Would go back again.
Very nice room, beautiful lake and mountain view, the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful but not intrusive.
Very helpful staff at reception desk. Wonderful location overlooking Lake Garda and just a few minutes walk into the hustle and bustle of Sirmione. A lovely place to stay. Can't understand all the complaints on Booking.com about the sparrows - it's not hard to share a crumb or two with them! Personally, we found women/men walking round the hotel carrying their lap dogs more of a concern !!
Everything was wonderfull, magical hotel in the most beutifull town.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the location (very close to the lake), the view from the room.
friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff
Service was very good. Location was excellent ... within a few hundred meters of a port and a beach. Swimming pool also very nice. Breakfast was more than adequate. No real complaints. If you want good value and an excellent Lago di Garda location, this is it. Hotel is very difficult to find, but that is certainly not their fault.
Rooms were nice. Good view to lake, balcony. Car parking in front of the hotel. Poor food at breakfast. No restaurant at the evening. In any case I went to Sushi 10km avay in the near village it was terrific.
Willingness and friendliness of staff. We weren't aware buildings works were taking place during our stay
The location. Fairly quiet. Lovely, comfortable room. Very clean. Good breakfast. Lovely swimming pool. Evening meal in restaurant was poor - quality of food and service.
Brand new and in great position near beach, restaurants and bars. Excellent breakfast. Air conditioned room. They were extending it so lots of building work. Pool was closed as a result.
The room view (face to Garda lake) is perfect. Bathroom is good as well.
Fair hotel and staff, excellent value for money, good location
Nice people, good location, fair air-conditioning, great price Awoke one morning with ants under shoes and a bag on the floor ... no food present in room.
Very Nice Hotel, good value for money in a town which is one of the more expensive on the Lake. For a two-star hotel this puts some of the others to shame!
friendly staff no cards accepted at payment
Nice family run hotel. Breakfasts were great and we throughly enjoyed them. A good location between Columbine and Sirmione and close to the beach. We were surprised to find that they did not accept credit card and had to find the cash to pay for the room. We shared a balcony with the next door room although this was only a problem when they decied to go outside to smoke, we do not smoke. Although we stayed 5 nights our towels were not changed and there was no way to hang them to dry them properly.
Half hour walk to historic town where there is limited parking at busy times makes the free parking at the hotel a plus.
Comfort of the bed. The breakfast was a delight to have in the surrounds of the garden
The breakfast was good. The room was very crowded. It had two queen size beds and 2 chairs, which we removed to the patio. and a box in the bathroom that you had to step over to use the toilet, so we put it on one of the beds.
Good value for money, quaint setting in a reasonable location. Facilities are pretty basic and rooms can get quite hot on a warm day (no air-conditioning)
The location is excelent and the villa's owner is very kind. mosquitos
Good location, nice small garden, when we can seat at the evening with the boutle of wine ! Not all sanitary equipment worked properly.
Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Very accomodating to special wishes. Good service. Excellent and relaxing outdoor area for sitting, swimming, cocktails, etc. The staff was great with our children and our lingustic deficiencies. The air conditioning was not functioning and the rooms were simply too hot (this was remedied during our stay). The breakfast (included) was a bit sparse.
The location was very nice to watch the sunset over lake Garda. This hotel is not a 4* hotel as advertised on bookings.com and also claimed by the hotel. The hotels staff were very rude on arrival and there was certainly no 'service with a smile' as you would expect from a 4* hotel. The decor of the hotel was also very dated.
The staff The breakfast was very poor there was no eggs ...
The staff were freindly and helpful.the hotel was very clean and had all the basic hotel facilities. The swimming pool and poolside area were lovely to relax by. The hotel is located beside a stunning viewing point. The breakfast had a poor selection and there were many many wasps in the fruit salad.
Beautiful hotel gardens and pool with fantastic views over the lake.
It is the furthest hotel out on the peninsula, so you have a nice view of the lake and olive grooves from the balcony without too many buildings in the way. There was a fan noice at daytime, thankfully not at night, possibly from a restaurant, that was irritating and sounded like being in a boat. To get to hotels in sirmione by car you need to navigate through the narrow old town treets filled with pedestrians. Cars are not allowed to drive 21 - 23. In hindsight would recomend people to take a nice B&B in some litle village, and just visit Sirmione for an hour or so.
Room was ok. The attitude of the staff was extremely unfriendly and at times very rude. So much so that we cut short our stay from 7 nights to 2! The elderly lady who appeared to be in charge seemed to be looking for an excuse to criticise and remostrate with the guests. Breakfast was poor accompanied by poor service. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Aircon in room did not work properly. There was a power cut one night, when this was reported to staff they intimated it was our fault ? they then pointed out that there was a power cut to every room in the hotel - this was not right - all other rooms had their lights on ?
Great location with wonderful lake view, very friendy staff, very clean room, cleaned twice a day, great coffee for breakfast. Very quite. great swimming pool. The room was not spacious enough for 4 ppl, there was no fridge in the room, but brought on request. Breakfast was ok: cold buffet ok for short stay but not for 8 days, missing hot dishes and vegatables.
The views are amazing. Pool lovely though cold. Once there good location to explore Sirmione. Good selection of eating places. Very friendly English speaking receptionist. Very quiet, no lack of space by pool etc. The drive through the castle and narrow streets is a bit daunting and would be anoying if you wanted to drive out regularly. Pillows very hard but were changed on request. No one eats in the hotel lunch or evening which is a shame as reduces the atmosphere. Very quiet.
The management and staff were wonderful. From suggestions about Lake Garda to thoughts on nearby restaurants. Simione is a lovely place to visit and this hotel was equally as lovely. It was the best breakfast of my 2 week stay in Italy. They go above and beyond for their guests.
This beautiful family hotel is in the old centre of Sirmione, with the free parking directly near by the hotel. The owners and staff are so pleasant, smilling, homy and friendly! So nice people! Gorgeous rooms have a lake view. Breakfasts are in the ground floor in a veranda and in a patio directly by the lake. Breakfast was excellent! Very big choice of food and drinks, fresh home-made cakes, everything was delicious! I really felt like at home. When we was leaving, they gave us their home-made cake, like a present. I really love this hotel and I can heartily recommend it! Thanks for all!
nice quiet atmosphere no problems
Hotel Marconi is set in a central location in the old town of Sirmione. It faces west onto Lake Garda with it's own smaill private desk. The room was clean and well presented, although not overly large. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of choices, including an impresive selection of home made cakes and pastries. But the best part of the hotel is the staff. We had problems getting to the hotel, having got off at the wrong train stop and we left our booking and flight paperwork on the train. The receptionost was fantastic and very accomodating, helping us to straighten everything out. We really enjoyed our stay due to the staff and the good location.
The location is fantastic and the owners are amazingly friendly.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast OK. Air conditioning. The traffic in town is restricted but free parking in the hotel (if you can reach it without knocking somebody down!).
Small decent hotel in the middle of the historical centre. A bit complicated access by car. Wide choice of restastaurants nearby.
Central location, friendly family atmosphere with very helpful and nice owners, very close to the beach/lake. A bit tortuous to get to the hotel since had to drive through small paved roads full of pedestrians. However, this was well worth it to have such a central location in the middle of the town and just a few yards away from the lake. Also, owners let us park directly outside the hotel, free of charge!
Loved this hotel. The hotel was in an excellent location. The owners were very friendly and helpful with any enquiries, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was clean and well looked after, would definitely return. The only down side to this hotel was that the bed was extremely hard. This slight negative would not put me off returning to this hotel
Beautiful area. The hotel is exactly in the middle of the old town.Really enjoyed it.I will surely go there again.
Friendlyness and clean
The old city is just an excellent spot on planet earth.
nice staff especially a croatia native lady.location convenient for both car/bus travellers.own parking some outside noise my happen on weekends(leaving people loosening emotions in bars)
The owners and the staff extremely polite and hospitable. The room met our expectations since we travelled with two small children (we stayed in a family room).
Lake view room was superb and the location is ideal.
Good value for money The rooms with the best position (overlooking the lake) were not the best fitted out - seems illogical & the Hotel will be losing out on its room rate because of this.
the view on the lake badly functioning facilities
We loved the lake view room ,The decor was really nice and the room itself was warm which was needed as it was the end of november. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
This is a lovely hotel in a great setting. Ask for a room overlokking th lake. Good breakfast too. Very good value for money.
Breakfast was good The bath was too narrow. We were dissappointed with the quality of the room as we paid for a "superior" room. It was small and very basic. The hotel staff said that the only difference between the standard and superior was that superior had a fridge. I would expect all rooms in a 4* hotel to have a fridge.
Great view of the lake and good central location within the town. Room and bathroom was large and clean.
i loved everything the parking place, which outside of the old city
no shower, no lake view which i requested and poor selection for breakfast, the egg machine took to long (about 15 mins to boil an egg)
Lovely hotel with first class location. a real experience.
Hotel setting and grounds beautiful. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Access to the hotel is difficult with many pedestrians on your way
We stayed in a junior suite which on the whole was very nice. The gourmet restaurant was very good, if expensive. The hotel was very peaceful and staff very friendly. Main drawback was the bed being hard and uncomfortable which we were not expecting from a luxury hotel. The bathroom was large with both a shower and a bath, but only one sink so you could not both get ready together which I might have expected from a junior suite. Be careful that this hotel is on the top of a steep hill which may be difficult for some people to access.
We liked the Concierge, the grounds, the history, the natural beauty, location, The hotel was rundown, antiquated infrastructure ( not 5 Star!!!) -plumbing, electrical, telephone, .. This does deserve a five star rating based on services and facilities. It has a very depressing feel to it as though it was an dowdy relic of the past not suited to modern travelers'needs.
Fantastic garden and situation of the property outside on Sirmione
The friendly staff, buffet breakfast and the pool
the photos on your web site are misleading. The room you book, you will be told when you check in is a standard room, then you are taken to see the standard room and the better rooms , then you will be told a change or up grade will incur extra costs!!!!
The hotel was a great base for the general area. Not crowded and very relaxed. Close to all amenties although all involved short walks. Ready access to the lake was a short walk away. Very good value. Helpful staff. Also a good base to visit Verone (bus stop a short walk away). not really - they need to modrnise a few thing to keep the hotel moving forward - e.g. simple thing like the room key fobs - old, worn and a poor image.
The pool, the location and free parking, pretty gardens The air conditoning was not working and it was very hot in the rooms. The TV was tiny and difficult to navigate through the channels which were limited. The family room was tiny and cramped.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Hotel was very clean and drinks, refreshments reasonably priced. There are no english TV channels. For people staying at this hotel it is worth noting that it is about 25 minute walk to centre of Sirmione, however the hotel is well situated near a small town with some shops and restaurants.
Easy to find, the pool and the garden is great, they let us to keep our room till 12.00 on the last day. The AC was not working, we were boiled...
Room was clean and quite comfortable. Friendly service. Nice swimming pool. Hotel was situated in peaceful area.
Location giving easy acess to surriunding areas. Good clean swimming pool Breakfasts lacked variety.
- the sunny weather - the Italian style - some details could be improved. e.g. no glasses in the room, no refrigerater, no TV without Skype, no internet
Balconies and rooms were very nice. Clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was nominal but good.
Good variety for breakfast. It was nice to have a pool although it was nothing special. Location was good. The room, particularly the bathroom desparately needed modernising. The quality of the furnishings and bathroom equipment was very cheap and it was like something from the 1960s. The bathroom was also tiny. I could not use my own hairdryer as when I did it tripped the electricity! The staff were also on the whole really grumpy and unfriendly with the exception of one or two people. In general I would not recommend this hotel and it certainly was not a 3*!
Location good, staff very helpful.
The hotel location is good, easy walking distance to the old town. The reception staff were not very friendly, the room was small and not clean. We asked for an iron, which took forever to find, there was no ironing board. The iron was very old and the lead had been repaired 4 times and was held together with tape. I felt it was very expensive for a 3 star hotel, 95 euros per night.
I highly recommend the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is small and rather charming; the non-suite rooms are in pastel colours - there is some charm in it. The service is professional and kind.We found the price to be good value for money.
the staff couldnt be nicer very helpful in all the departments. the siting and dining areas were beautifully done out. I would like ro have had tea making facilities in the room
Very exciting to stay inside the village resort of sermione. Air con was top class
Great location, and appreciated a room with view of the lake. Room was clean, bright and comfortable.
Location in the old town of Sirmione
The staff was very attentive, the breakfast was adequate and the location very convenient
Friendly staff, excellent location - very close to all amenities
Location excellent, very central to life in old town Sirmione Beds were too hard, shower did not have a complete cubicle, so water soaked the floor when shower was used.
Ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful None
Its position within the old town of Sirmione. Good service, warm and family-like atmosphere. A difficulty when manipulating with the car (for buggage loading e.g.), which is in the same time interesting due to the specifics of the Sirmione old town architecture
Modern, comfortable and conveniently located hotel at a great price. Staff was also very helpful. Design of the shower was a little weird - there was no door. Interesting and modern, but the bathroom was like a little monsoon after each shower.
It was very modern and very clean.
The hotel was clean and furnishing was good. The lake view was wonderful. The location was very good. Breakfast could have been better
Lakeside location with 15 minutes easy walking distance to the old town. Free car park at the hotel and a good location for exploring Lake Garda. Excellent service and staff very helpful at all times.
Location is good, new décor & furniture (only in the deluxe rooms!), rooms with lake view are very nice & quiet. Poor sound insulation, no wi-fi, inconsistent room pricing (we had 3 rooms - they were oddly priced), breakfast girl is very unfriendly.
Modern design of the rooms
Nice hotel, all people very kind. Nice location. Cozy and elegant rooms.
staff & owner's daughter; the location no
The hotel is just by the lake and both the view and the hotel area is beautiful. Choose a room with lake view .
Sympathetic and competent staff and very nice coffe and hand-made cakes They begin the cleaning of the rooms early in the morning
Staff was outstanding--helpful and provided excellent assistance. they offset the bad features. well located out of tourist rush. Hotel should not be rated as a 4 star hotel. needs work, but staff offset negatives. would recommend only because of staff.
Beautiful position toward amenities, restaurants, bars etc. Breakfast should have more choices
Staff excellent with a friendly but efficient attitude. Helpful and guest orientated.
Great location great staff
Nothing The hotel is worth 2** while advertising 4**
Closeness to Old Town Some of the staff were very unhelpful, however others were very helpful.
Friendliness of staff. Lovely pool on the roof. Door to balcony did not close properly so air conditioning did not work efficiently. Notified hotel but not fixed.
We liked the swimming pool with a very nice vue on the roof? & it was near from the center & castle N/A
Position of hotel in sirmione. Breakfast was good. Pool looked small but was satisfactory. Sitting area around pool offered privacy. Underground carpark not for the fainthearted - steep entrance and exit, lots of pillars to avoid and expensive
Location was excellent Not 4* star hotel, only 3*
The window didn't close properly, and staff was resistant to check it out and change rooms...we were given an adjacent room. The hotel didn't seem to have more than one or two rooms occupied(it was off season) and yet the clerk told us it was the "only room unoccupied"!!! Staff was not really 'friendly' and the questions we asked were met with a disinterested attitude.
Everything about the hotel was good quality. It was quiet and relaxing without being stuffy There was not enough information given about the services provided by the hotel or information on the locality. Although advertised, the fitness suite was not open as they were still awaiting a license.
Very nice but small room. Excellent fit-for-purpose facilities. Clean. Very large and good balcony although it should have had a non-see- through shiled towards the neighbour. The 'Hamburger' in the restaurant was a disaster!!! No sign of real meat, looked like the sole of a shoe and tasted nothing! Please fix this asap.
The place is beautiful. The localization is good. The cleanliness, even of bathrooms, is made each 4 days and you have to pay it as an extra, what I think it’s unbelievable in a 4 stars hotel. They don't have any expert to solve the problems as electrical, air conditioned, etc. and they don't apologize for that. Everything will be solved “domani” or the day after “domani”; even their manager seems to think that´s normal.
Cleaniness of the room. Breakfast Buffet was good. Our patio (like almost all patios) do face towards the pool and did not have any privacy at all. Everybody that passed by could stare at us sitting on the patio. No privacy. All deck chairs at the pool were reserved with towel already early in the morning no matter if the people used them or not. After 11:00 AM it was impossible to get a deck chair next to the pool.
Location is perfect. close to most areal attractions. No where in hotel documentation it was mentioned the room is cleaned only one time during our week stay. That was very disturbing running with same towels few day especially on days with 37degC and 95 PrecentHumidity. Room door was not locking properly and it took the staff to fix it 4 days.
large room and pretty surroundings
good room and kitchen. good breakfast. the entrance to our room no. 101 is not very pleasant.
The hotel was in a prime location in Sirmione - right next to Lake Garda and within walking distance of the castle and the old town. We stayed in a family room which was basic but very comfortable. There's no pool, but there's a sun terrace with chairs and loungers which is ideal for sunbathing with a beautiful view of the lake.We were made very welcome by the family who ran the holel, who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. we would most definitely return in thr future.
Great service and nice people, who tried the best they could to make our stay memorable! Small touches as a welcome drink and a offering coffee with check out makes you feel more welcome
