I love this hotel. I love the staff and I love the rooms. This feels like a hotel in a small town. I always reserve here even if the price is more expensive. Keep up the good work chandler. Better gym room.
minibar was loaded with choices deceptive staff. gave me a different room with a smaller bed than the one I paid for. but after waiting on lobby for an hour after my check in time because the manager hadn't inspected the room, I was too tired and Aggravated to argue!
The staff was amazing. Polite and personable, always willing to help and proactive in resolving any booking issues. Would definitely stay again. Also, there is an amazing shop right on the next corner that has an incredible selection of foods, from ice cream and pizza to a full salad bar, that stays open for your late night cravings. Conveniently close to the hotel. If I must search for something negative to say..... Maybe the room seemed a little cramped? Didn't affect us because we were out and about but had we stayed in I suppose we'd have to use the descriptor "cozy."
Excellent facilities, clean rooms, great location, right in the heart of Manhattan.
Convenient and close proximity to our corporate office.
Staff was amazingly attentive. No ice on floor
Friendly, helpful staff. Bad view out of room 733.
friendly staff simple old NYC charm, architecture large, well appointed rooms for an older hotel easy access to meetings
Old shower and bathroom
The location is great. The bathrooms are nice. Internet worked well. However it lacks the charm I was expecting from a boutique hotel in New York. The rooms have an old feeling. The decoration in general is fairly old style. And when we tried to get room service for breakfast nobody picked up, we were told we will be called back and after 30 min we just gave up. Not worth the price, I would rather do a Hilton or Hyatt for same price with much better bed, service and vibe.
Great location, excellent price, friendly staff No issues
Very nice and large room. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The lobby is small and not overly impressive. The neighborhood is safe but not one of the premier locations in NYC so you'll need to cab or subway to restaurants/meetings/site seeing. Fortunately it is very centrally located. Given what I Paid for the room, I would definitely stay there again Lobby and Immediate Neighboorhood
Price. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Spacious. The facility felt very old and outdated. The quality of the floors, rugs, couches, shades was all poor. The floors were fake wood linoleum that moved around under your feet. The rooms need upgrades. The views out the back are straight into a construction site.
Decent location, very convenient to 6 subway which is great to get up and down the east side of Manhattan. Very helpful staff. Not a great few blocks for bars and restaurants and nothing much to speak of in the hotel itself. Wood veneer floors in rooms are probably easier to keep clean but not very comfortable or inviting.
got a good deal on Kayak.com. When I showed up to the hotel, they upgraded me to one of their best rooms for no charge. the room was beautiful, bed comfortble, and the space quiet. What a lovely refuge for a busy business trip! Thank you Avaol for a great stay: I'll be back! not a one!
Clean, friendly staff and excellent location. The rooms were large and quiet and the beds were comfortable. Wifi seemed to work well. Bonus free coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby.
The spacious room, boutique/ old style hall ways and lobby, location next to empire state building and in Korea town At 2am the vent started blowing out heat even though thermostat was set on cool. Woke up to 80 degrees in the room, had to call front desk to come check it out. They said cuz the vent system is so old, there is no varying the temp. So he just turned it off and opened the window. However it was also about 30 degrees outside so as much as that felt good in the beginning, woke up again a couple hrs later to a freezing cold room. Then I had to be up early for an appt so felt as if I got no sleep :(
Staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was smaller than expected with a bathroom for handicapped persons. The bathroom door would not close properly. The bed was small but comfortable. The room phone was not audible. Wi-fi was very responsive.
The next two nights they changed the room and the room was great. The first two nights room was not having heating. it was uncomfertable.
Wifi was really spotty the first day, and the shower was installed with hot and cold reversed.
Great location between 2 subway lines and a short walk to Penn station. Room was very large and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
ALL of your front desk staff could use better training in professionalism and courtesy.
I have stayed here numerous times throughout various trips. All the staff members of the hotel are very nice, helpful, and show they care about you. Cleaning staff is very very nice, front desk is amazing. They have a great breakfast staff as well. The hotel is right next to a subway station, but you don't see the lingering subway station people. If you get a city view it is wonderful. Very centralized to NYC. You are close enough to Time Square with shops close. Small rooms, but it is NYC you can't expect much more. If that is the only negative thing about your stay then you have no worries!
Price. Location. Modern. Clean. Small. Old. Slow checkin.
Excellent location and great hotel for the price (subway stop right outside) Very helpful staff (especially in the restaurant when I was dining with my two year old) Beautiful view of the Empire State Building from our window Quiet rooms--other than one neighbor banging on the door early in the morning, I did not know anyone else was around
Easy walking distance to area attractions like Madison Square Garden, theater district, Empire State Building and numerous restaurants. Very clean room with plenty of outlets, and friendly front desk. Very nice, and rare, open outdoor space in front of hotel. A bit disorganized with the luggage holding process and the lobby lounge should be open later during the summer. The hotel has very nice outdoor space which is rare for hotels in that busy area and could get better use. Got back from concert at 12:30 and had to look for a bar/pub to have a night cap.
Friendly staff went out of their way to make our late valentine's day getaway special, moved me and my girlfriend to a higher floor, and gave us a box of chocolates and a card. Room was extremely clean, a little small, but nice nonetheless. I will definitely stay again! Room was a little small, but the cleanliness absolutely made up for it!
Alex at the front desk was most helpful in assisting me with a reservation problem,
The hotel was fine. However, there was a murder in the hotel the night we were their. Apparently a pimp was murdered several floors up. It was all over the NYC news.
Easy check in and out. Validate for parking nearby. Check with parking garage. Small rooms but typical for NYC hotels
Clean, Good location Broken front door.
I had been in NY few times but this time I realize how important is a good location! The best ever! Next to metro station and shopping area. At the front rooms you can appreciate the Empire Statle from your window! For sure I will be back!
This hotel banks on its location adjacent to Penn Station. That is the only positive and has allowed them to avoid improving. The facilities are atrocious: dirty rooms, bedbugs, outdated fixtures, uninvested staff, and hidden fees.
The location is very good. The price is high as compare to the quality of rooms but I guess it's because of the location I guess the price is high but rooms and bathrooms needs to be repaired.
Location Bad hotel
The bed is very comfortable and the location is excellent. I stayed for one day only, so can't say much more. Because the hotel is old, a lot of its structure is rusted. It should definitely be renovated. The bedroom is small, but clean. The aged look is interesting, but they should change furnitures as soon as possible! It wouldn't be my first choice of hotel if I had to come to the city again.
Only Location. Ugly and old room no air conditioner Bed to small for a a couple.
Maria B at the reservation area was fast and efficient. She got me in my room quickly without any headaches. She suggested a room upgrade which I agreed to and it made my night better. I'd say that she was the main one that kept me from ranking the service really low. Location was excellent. Check in was at 3:00pm and I arrived at 2:30pm. I asked one of the bell folks if I could use the bathroom and he gave me two key cards saying that "one of these should work". I went to the lower lobby area to open the door and both keys didn't work. I then went to the luggage check-in area and asked if I could use the bathroom. They said they didn't have a key either. Ok..now this is pretty damn ridiculous. I went back upstairs to the bell desk and told them that both keys didn't work. The guy told me to go to the reservation check-in area and see if I could get a key.... I was ready to give the front desk a piece of my mind, but the lady suddenly said that I was able to check in early (which made me feel better). I was asked if I wanted to get a room upgrade and I said yes. Really - all I needed was to use the restroom. It was pretty crazy how tough it was for a guest to do something as simple as that.
Location Mold in bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Thin towels. Mentioned to staff they said that's what you get when reservation are made on kayak.
Location to Penn Station and Msg couldn't be beat Little noisy. Not there fault.
Location Check in took an hour, staff unmotivated, Rooms dirty, carpet ripped, beds uncomfortable and dirty, shower leaks all over bathroom and water temperature fluctuates from scalding to cold, thermostat broken so room temp uncontrollable, had to open window.....remote broken TV had one channel....just a terrible experience. ...they should be ashamed of themselves.
NOTHING Rude staff. Super dirty. Charged far more than listed.
Location was very good Long waiting times at the front desk Poor service when requesting an additional blanket Fee for storing suitcases after check-out Expensive parking Expensive Outdated No kettle or coffee maker
I liked that it is right next to Penn Station and just two blocks from the venue where the concert I was there to see. The bathroom was very small, the TV was at least 15 years old and about 30ft from the bed.
Perfect location, just a few steps from major stores and 15 min walk to Times Square. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Just two elevators. For some rooms you could not control the heating, just the cooling air.
Very nice staff 206 should be a storage closet! Nestled between two fire doors, starting at 4am, the two fire doors slam prohibiting any sleep!!
Room was acceptable Breakfast was a bit ad hoc and lacked taste in order and presentaion
They people were great Lack of coffee maker / limited to one coffee per day..
It's a nice modern boutique feeling hotel. Staff was nice. After a night of jack hammering (location issue more than their fault) there was no hot water at all in the morning. They refunded a portion of my bill but it was brutal. They should consider also soundproofing the Windows more.
Location Rooms on 12th floor could be updated
The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Room was cold in November, as heat had not been turned on.
the location was great
we were checked in really quick . breakfast was enjoyable . staff at reception were realy helpful in directions and questions . dinner was very good in the evening and brendan bar was very enjoyable bar to drink in. but location location location ,would not be beaten heating system was noisy and lifts slow during busy times.but not bad enough to put us off staying here in the future
the bed was very comfortable and bug free..! could of done with tea/coffee facilities in room though, staff were brilliant.
The front desk staff was excellent. The linens were very nice. Blow dryer didn't work. Called housekeeping for clean towels and replacement blow dryer. Waited an hour. Never showed up. Later they cleaned room and left clean towels but no washcloths. It has potential just have not worked out all the kinks yet.
Clean, spacious and very nice room, close to Times Square. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon light dinner was a plus. Would recommend, and visit again.
While the decor, aesthetics, and general reception are great, the customer service and professionalism from the front desk is completely sub-par and below standard for any hotel within this price per night range. I was completely taken by surprise and frankly, shocked when I realized minor construction on a door lock was going on in the room next to mine. Apparently, management thought it a good business idea to begin the deconstruction and removal of the lock with the requisite banging, clanging, kicks and other associated noises at 9:30 pm!! When I called the front desk to complain, the female rep advised that she didn't know when it was going to finish but that it would continue--completely uncaring that after taking two separate airplane rides to get to NY, encompassing a total of 15 hours, one flight from a recovering war zone no less, all I want to do is sleep and rest in order to be somewhat recovered from passing two continents and three time zones and to be prepared for a me...
Our stay at Residence Inn was actually better than expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the maintenance staff always said hello and had a smile. The breakfast was good and they even provided a light supper which our family took advantage of. We would definanty return. P.S. Our City View rooms on the 27 floor had an outstanding view.
The check in process was pretty average, but with unfriendly front desk attendants. The hallway was dirty on the floor that I was staying on...both trash on floor and carpet was dirty. Great location and good price, but below my expectations and below what I have experienced at other Marriott properties.
We stayed here in August to celebrate our daughters 13th birthday. We are a family of four, my husband, 13 year old daughter, 9 year old son and myself. The hotel staff was so welcoming and helpful in every way. We arrived a few hours ahead of check in time, but they allowed us to check in early. I had requested a couple of treats to be in our room when we checked in. They didnt have them available at check in, but the treats were in our room when we returned from the broadway show, along with a balloon bouquet and a birthday card for our daughter! Anything we needed or asked for during our 4 day stay was taken care of with a smile! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The kitchen is quite attractive and very useful for keeping snacks and drinks. The hot complimentary breakfast was good, we often took our plates of food back to our rooms and reheated our breakfasts as we each got showered and realy for our day. The hotel is in a great location. An easy walk in one direction...
We stayed here, of all times, through New Year's Eve, and it was a very wise choice! \n\nThe room had a full kitchenette with microwave, full size refrigerator, toaster, dishes, etc. It was really convenient to be able to go to the corner store and buy midnight snacks or breakfast for the next day.\n\nThe front desk staff was very matter of fact. They weren't overly friendly (it is NYC, lots of people, not everyone will be gushy!). There wasn't a bellman that we saw -- which we liked because we can wheel our own suitcases, not a big deal. There typically was a security guard near the door and you have to use your room key to get to the upper floors. \n\nI would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
This was a great value for Manhattan. It was within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, and many other popular New York hot spots. The staff was very friendly & helpful. When we arrived, there was only 1 operation elevator & the staff went out of their way to make sure people didn't have to wait too long for the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent - great if you have a family! The rooms were quite large (with a full kitchen) and the beds were extra comfortable. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I spent 5 days there to celebrate our anniversary?our first visit to ?the big apple?. The rooms were a little small, but were very clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the hot complimentary breakfast, but be warned, they get very busy from about 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Be there before 8:30 and you are fine. The location was excellent for us, within walking distance of Bryant Park, the Rockefeller Center, many Broadway Theaters, ABC and NBC studios?even Central Park if you don?t mind a couple mile walk. We totally enjoyed our stay?will stay there again if we return.
We stayed in a large clean studio room for just two nights. It was a good experience but the room wasn't as large as I thought it would be. For example, when the sofa bed is pulled out there isn't any room to walk between it and the full/queen bed in the room. The pull out couch bed was as uncomfortable as we expected it would be, but after our long NY city days, we didn't care. Breakfast was plentiful in options, but so packed with people one of us had to stand to eat. Get there early I guess! Elevators were just as bad; the general advice was to go up to get down. Clean room. Prompt service. We'd stay again.
I have stayed in quite a few NYC hotels. The room was magnificent! The breakfast and gathering area was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and accomodating!
Excellent TImes Square location for weekend stay .
The hotel was very clean and had all the conveniences. Bed and bedding was great. Close to Times Square and our room had a spectacular view of the Empire State Bldg. Caution: If you have a vehicle, parking cost almost 25% of of nightly stay.
Nice hotel Check in process was BAD Booked via Kayak and they did not have my reservation I had a confirmation # Took almost an hour to resolve
Close enough to walk many places. Staff was extremely friendly. Horrible view from window.
Items of our luggage were stolen
We appreciated the entire stay. It was quiet, friendly staff, clean, accomodating, close to subway. Good food . We had to leave. We have recommended it to others and will be back.
The room was spacious for NYC standards and very clean and well kept. The furnishings were modern and kept up to date. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room to keep our water, wine and cheese cold.
Nothing I liked. Worst costumer service!! Front desk guests service were so rude. My room was already paid and booked for but still had to wait two hours just to get my room!
I gues for us-measures this Hotel has to be considered old The Service is excellent and it is Central
Location, rooms are comfy , free internet My mother's shoes were stolen, Along with my nephew's (2 and 1/2 yo) pillow and toys. The shoes were inside a suitcase the entire time which makes the case even worse. We complained at the front desk, but the staff were unapologetic and did nothing to solve the issue.
Clean rooms, Small rooms
Friendly and accommodating staff! Loved that everyone was there willing to help. Also liked the security of staff checking to make sure that all guests coming into the hotel were in fact supposed to be there. Didn't like that there wasn't a fridge and/or microwave in the room given the price. Room was very nice but for the price I would've expected at least a fridge.
Nice interior All staff Ive come across felt like security. They dont respond to greetings. When they selectively ask to see your room keycard to enter the hotel and you see the people in front of you stroll right in while you get "carded" almost everytime...Im a well groomed mid 20's asian business man on vacation what more do you want? And in the heart of korea-town no less! I avoided the staff for the rest of my stay due to their less than friendly disposition and most times they seemed too busy to talk to you because they are allll on their phones textingg! Mainly speaking of night staff. For such a historic Landmark of a Hotel the staff certainly takes away from its authenticity, beauty and glamour. As far as the rooms go everthing seemed fairly clean and nice. Only issue was the brown water I had to shower in and the air condition wasnt working the first day but their engineering staff promptly fixed the A/C unit.
The terrace was hands down the best part of all the hotels we stayed at in NYC.
it was a nice and clean room. breakfast was good though it was just muffins, bagels and toast, no eggs or ham. convenient location next to the subway
very central location
A small friendly hotel offering all you need. Immaculate rooms with great breakfasts and clean bed linen and towels every day. Excellent location for all the major sights - perfect for a long weeked sightseeing. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues.
The room was clean Extremely noisy (couldn't sleep at night) although I had asked for a quiet room, very basic breakfast
The central location -could walk to the Village or the Park Complimentary breakfasts The price - but I guess that's NYC for you
Proximity to 7w building and Korean restaurants When booking thru online agencies you always get the room next to the elevator. It was quiet enuf but that was after we propped the banging fire door open.
price, decor, breakfast, walk-in shower neighborhood, esp. garbage in streets, bed too hard, Minibar only coca-cola and alcohol - storing water, fruit, or juice prohibited enforced by electronic monitoring, cheap plastic cups - no glasses, "superior queen" sleeping room 10'x12', bath 4'x5' roof deck closed
The front-desk was very helpful The room was very small, and the bathroom was extremely cramped
Nice location. Room was small, but clean and updated. Hotel itself is a bit dated and doudy.
I stayed in one of their newly renovated premium rooms and they are gorgeous!! Comparable to the Thompson hotels. Definitely a great value with an amazing location. Would definitely come back and recommend the renovated rooms.
- Friendly and helpful staff - Small but clean room, comfortable bed - Well-appointed and nice ambiance - Within easy walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and other midtown sights, as well as shopping and good restaurants Disappointed that the rooftop garden was closed for renovation
Staff were very friendly and professional. The location of the hotel was ideal.
hotel room was clean and staff was very friendly and kind. breakfast was enough and clean. location is really fine. everything was ok, thank you for all. brakfast room was a bit small.
Close to Times Square and Penn Station, 1 block from R train
only the fact that it is in a central location very basic, website does not give a true picture of the hotel it flatters the reality. would not stay there again
Good location, and spacious room. Booking.com did not include the city taxes in their estimate. Therefore, the bill was larger than expected and larger than the amount disclosed by Booking.com.
Hotel Stanford is so convenient for anything you want to do in NYC. The hotel is spotless and the staff could not do enough for you! Would definintely recommend it to friends and cant wait to stay there again!!! The cafe that serves the complimentary breakfast buffet is a bit small and you have your coffee/tea in paper cups. Also, the buffet is included with the room but when you try to take it up to your room you have to pay $10!!!
Accom spacious , staff very helpful , pleasant , and carried out their individual tasks smiling . Having to queue for breakfast .
Location is great. Value for the money was good. Bathroom was spacious. Blankets were dirty. Found hairs on the blankets and in the sheets, suggesting they were not washed before our arrival. One elevator only fitting 8 people is a little crazy for such a large hotel.
Good location, room was available on time, staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good option for us to have a visit to the city at a reasonable cost. No complaints. The place is under construction, which just meant the staff seemed somewhat confused at times. We did not have any issue with construction noise (stayed on the weekend) or any thing else negative.
Location, staff, comfortable and spacious room, great hot water and pressure We were there on a busy holiday weekend and the staff could not have been more accommodating amidst the full house. Only negative was very gross dirty old carpet, which psychologically detracted from the cleanliness otherwise. If they replaced the carpets or put noncarpet flooring in instead, I would rate this hotel excellent. We loved the neighborhood, the location, the staff, and the reasonable price.
I like that it is fairly affordable for being in the city. I think the staff isn't very friendly. They seem to be managed by someone who makes them very unhappy and pushes them to not focus on courtesy and service but rather the bottom line, money.
The location of this hotel is the best part
after renovation, but with some scratches already; friendly staff really cares; fitness room; complimentary tea and coffee every morning; safe and nice; great view from deluxe room expensive, but very standard, breakfast; windows need to be cleaned; at this price I would expect the room to be larger; I would prefer more light in the room
Love Kimpton, the hotels and service are always top notch. Looking forward to staying here again. Having to leave the hotel was a bummer
Very kind and attentive staff. Nice and clean room. Excellent location for us. Quite expensive. None.
Friendly staff and comfort of the bed! Tax additions to bill
Prime location, Good staff, Clean area No Free Wi-fi at such huge price. Its real pain and disappointment. Also management is strict with Check-out time. They did not even allow me to keep my room for at least one hour after 12PM checkout time.
Location was excellent. Walking distance to pretty much everything in Manhatten. Reception was very good. There was one small roll of toilet paper and no soap in the bathroom. Dusty bed lamp with hard to find switch.
BEST location!! The staff were super nice and friendly! The room was small, but it just what you needed for a night. The location was perfect! Especially for the price. Bathrooms are shared but there's multiple ones on each floor, so you can still find one for yourself. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but did you just justice. And the room was small. Bathrooms shared and drains weird. Had to pay for wifi but worked great. (Under $10) But other than that there isn't much to say bad about this place!
They don't have bathroom inside the room, no free internet, no parking, no breakfast and they tell on they website they have everything, it's a lie. We need split a restroom with another people like in a hostel, it was the worst.
I went with my girlfriend for a weekend away, the staff was very friendly and accomadating. The location was great, right in the heart of everything. We got stuck an extra day due to the storm, and the staff was very helpful and extended the stay with no problems, and gave us a discount rate for the extra night with no problems. Def would stay here again Shared bathrooms, but they were very clean at all times. Nothing bad to say about the hotel
The place is a dump dirty and really expensive for what you get no individual bathroom. Very disappointing
Amazion location. It was clean enough, the bathroom wasnt clean all the time but nothing bad and there were always bathrooms available. Payed Wifi and if you need to use more then one device, you have to let them know. Some people on the staff were rude, but other really helpful.
Very close to many famous NYC sights. Great price for the location. Room was very clean. Bathroom tub didn't drain. Just went down the hall to another bathroom.
Location in city Everything else was awful
Good location, staff generally helpful, hall baths were surprisingly clean (though very slippery!) Tiny bed, street noise a real issue (even on the fifth floor)
The location was fantastic. You can't find anything else for that price. The rooms are very small and bathrooms are shared on the floor. There was no continental breakfast or coffee pot in the room.
A budget friendly hotel for short stay. Terrific location. Overall clean and maintained. good staff. over all good no attached bathroom all are shared. the elevator is extremely slow and always stops at 2nd floor even of you haven't ask for.
I love this hotel. The tech needs a minor facelift. I love the USB ports in the plug ins and alarm, but the Apple connection stuff is a decade old and Apple always changes their stuff just enough that you have to keep upgrading random toys like iPads, which sucks because even an old iPad can do some basic stuff like watch Netflix and control your AirPlay Spotify and those things, which is way more valuable than if you buy an app for a buck and you play it for a week and then check a month later and its third on your list for storage used. So certain things I've had to upgrade and now I'm a plugin short, which is a super first world problem sounding issue. Just sayin', the whole thing seems fishy to me. This hotel is nice. I'd absolutely stay there again, and there's a Blue Bottel coffee like 3 doors down, which is nice because New Yorkers are an amazing group of people that I love, but they don't drink good coffee. There are Starbucks everywhere and they always taste burned (burnt?) to me. Blue Bottle is a bit pretentious, but when you're a great coffee in a great city, you're winning. Also, Bryant Park is across the street from the hotel, and they do a bunch of cool little concerts and stuff in that park, and they keep it clean and there is a solid brunch place in there and a Grill. Oh, yeah, and the elevators at the hotel are some weird cross between a coffin and a bad 70's porno shoot. It's really dark and there may be velvet on the walls, but it's too dark to tell. If you're in there with another person, it's a little tight. A person or two with luggage? Really tight. That's a hard one to fix, though. You'd be out of commission the entire time because it's the only way up. Maybe just brighten it a little bit. The bar downstairs used to be solid and I bet still is, but I didn't go down there this trip. It is Friday night and I just wrote that. That is not a good life sign.
Great location. Rooms are decent size and clean.staff was friendly Hallway is very dark at all times
The room was very large for NYC and comfortable, with a great view. We were upgraded to a suite, at no extra charge because we had an extra person.
Location, location, location. The size of the room was a major plus point. We were pleasantly surprised with the huge terrace space given to me (room #1401) and though it only had a partial view of the park, it was quiet for a midtown manhattan hotel. The entertainment planner Katherine was very patient and friendly and she managed to book reservations at Jean George and Gramercy Tavern for dinner and lunch respectively. I stronly recommend the higher floors as there are fewer rooms the higher you go, hence quieter. I think there were only 6 or 7 rooms on my floor. The doorman / bellboy was helpful with luggage and getting cabs. On check out day, there were few cabs available and doorman flagged a passing private limo for us at reasonable rate of US$85 to Newark. Will definitely return to this gorgeous Quintessentially manhattan hotel. not applicable
the location of course, the room with the view of the park, the complimentary wine in the cellar the first room was extremly small-we had to upgrade, also while the room was clean what quite often gets overlooked are the dirty finger/hand smudges on light switches,on door frames , door handles etc.I had to use a soapy washcloth to wipe this all down plus the surface of the leather seating
The bedroom was very spacious, well fitted out and quiet. The bed was exceptionally comfortable - the best hotel bed we have slept in. The location at Bryant Park, a short walk from Times Square was unbeatable - nice quiet area but so close to all the noise and action. The hotel dining room (Koi Restaurant) was out of our budget, as were the room service and mini-bar pricing. A good job there were so many alternatives nearby. I can't remember ever having to go out to breakfast before!
the location is great because I love Bryant Park. Old hotel, but redone kind of modernish. They should have left it old. We had a tiny room that looked out on ugly air conditioners from the other building. I had always dreamed of staying there but was very disappointed .
Very central hotel, convenient for a city trip Didn't think that the hotel had enough amenities - Bars and restaurants
the style of the room they charge more for a 2 bed room because according to them we booked for one bed room. They added 100$ more per night.
Relaxed style Staff very helpful
Very central, close to everything in NYC, they upgraded us to a junior suite for free. Even if our room was a junior suite, we were on the 5th floor, with an bad view on the AC ventilation (very noisy at night).
The hotel is in a great location and our room was much bigger than other hotel rooms I've stayed at in New York. The bed turn-down was too early - before we were back from being out in the day and even when we requested a second turn-down it didn't always happen.
close to sites
we had asked for a room on a high floor as noisy on lower floors due to traffic on 5th avenue and when we got there we were on the first floor! Always a pain having to change rooms.
Good location, cleanliness of room, free wifi internet, Empire state building in front of the hotel. Small reception, no own restaurant cafe for breakfast / dinner, noisy conditioner, but at autumn it's doesn't matter.
It was a small room, but nice furnished and clean. It was on the right location to walk to the stores and things to do. The employees were great, giving information and coupons and where very kind and always a smile on their faces (not fake) the toilet was placed against the wall and when you were sitting there, you sit with your face and shoulder in the towellrackish
Cozy Small sized studio/ bedroom but with a full sized bathroom ....perfect for couples, very clean and friendly staff
The hotel was a great find on 5th Avenue. Within walking distance or short taxi ride to everything you want to see. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
location rooms are functional but very small. staff efficient but not particularly friendly.
The people care. Every one was very kind with me. Specially Bibi and Jesús, both were very friendly and nice with me. I had no problems at all.Thank you. The space of the room: tiny. May be it is enough for a single people (like me) with a single bed...
Location, staff, cleanliness, value, view out window (Empire State Building), mattress comfort Toilet size (space between sink and wall), shower water pressure, hard water
We really liked the location for walking or using the subway to get uptown especially. the size of the room - it was very cramped with the 2 of us.
Hotel is in really good place and the bed was amazing! The view from our bathroom window was Empire State Building. The room was tiny but it was clean and the bathroom was bigger. Great value hotel!
Smack dab in the middle of midtown. Absolutely NO cell phone service. They give you the wifi (I don't know if you normally pay) but that to me should be warned about. I didn't realize I wasn't getting work emails until about an hour after I checked in and noticed my phone was abnormally quiet. Facilities are okay. Couldn't get the air to stop blowing warm even when on cool. Bathroom was a tad sketchy.
Price was right for these accommodations. Location is unbeatable. So close to transportation and all of midtown's amenities... Lounge area on separate floor..comfortable and screen providing what to do updates was a nice bonus. Also, appreciated that staff allowed us to store luggage after checkout. Room was on the warm side. Couldn't regulate thermostat. Internet and cell coverage both spotty. Couldn't figure out log in for wifi.
The staff was excellent and really helpful in helping us find locations and how to get there. This hotel has the loudest air conditioner I have ever heard in my life! It worked great, but was so loud that we had to turn it off to get some sleep.
The location was great, in walking distance to the subway. I did not enjoy waking up in the middle of the night, and finding someone else's underwear in the covers with me. Were the sheets not changed between guests? I was highly disappointed in the esponse from the front desk and management. The front desk's response was, "Ugghh, gross.." The local management never responded. They were supposed to contact me (according to the front desk and corporate office). It never happened. The corporate office was responsive and addressed my concerned. I've stayed at Wingate and other Wyndham properties and enjoyed my stay; I will never return to this one.
Location and staff Noise of ac unit in the room
Very helpful staff. All requests were handled quickly.
Friendly staff, very clean and spacious room, good breakfast
room ready and clean unable to get points with 3rd party reservation
attentive staff ; good location; clean room ; nice breakfast; good value for price water from shower splashes out onto bathroom floor too easily
Breakfast was great!! But staff was great and overall stay was good! Wifi and phone reception was horrible. AC was loud and had restroom problems with toilet.
