They should not advertise free internet as for four days I could not check my e-mails as two same people were occupying the two computers they have for hours every day.
Very convenient to RER. Great location! Quiet. Friendly staff.
The locxation is great for the cente of Paris, without being in any high traffic or people area. The Hotel facilities are good and the breakfast a splendid spread. Taxis are hard to come by, and the Chatalet station, whilst being very close, is a nightmare to understand (Not the Hotels problem)
Overall help with taxis, dinner reservations, comfort of the room, location close to exciting parts of Paris, extremely helpful staff. Also, the size of the room, relative to other Paris hotels, is superior. A nice, professional, contemporary hotel with a first-class staff and great attention to detail.
We didn't like the third bed, was too small
easy to visit shops and west bank area the shower cubical water flow was poor to non-existant. we complained to room supervisor but told it was normal on 5th floor
Well located in a lively part of Paris and close to shopping and restaurants.
There was no room for unpacking our clothes! stayed for one week and there was not a single drawer or shelf to store anything so after paying the rate of a 4 star hotel, we got the "confort" level of a 2 star hotel instead. The carpets were filthy and the matresses were soiled! The narrow hallways smelled and felt like a cheap cruiseship. We are very dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the overall value of this hotel.
Location. Nice rooms. Long waiting line at the breakfast
The location was great very central The area looked abit dodgy at night but we had no trouble whatsoever!
Service was excellent. All staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min from the Louvre, restaurants and the metro. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Facilies were very nice and the location is very central. Very short walk to multiple train lines and metro. With one exception with an encounter with a bartender which was terrible, the staff was great. Most front door men are always hustling bags, giving directions and calling cabs. All spoke English. Family's be aware of one minor quirk. The bathroom and shower doors are clear glass with a dulling switch. It just doesn't get real dull. It's still very see through for all members to see. However the rooms were very modern and clean.
Design and location food
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see. The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
Hotels name is not visible from the street
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed. The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location. At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room. I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
Design and Decoration Broken Lift more than 1 Day (If Compare with this Level)
Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
Location Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable
Compact hotel with attentive staff. Space at a premium but efficiently designed with modern baths.
the location was good to get to marais and to st germain as well as of course the louvre so easy. room was quiet, clean large enough in paris terms. so was happy and will stay again. that breakfast is extra. but that is typical of france. also dont like that you have to take your bags by yourself. im too old for that nonsense.
Excellent Rooms, excellent location
Small, clean, kind service, central Better acces to internet and printeracess
Location Breakfasts is very poor. Staff in bufett one of the shifts is rude staff
fantastic location and friendliness of desk staff the mini elevator, but I think this is common thoughout hotels in France
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They also spoke excellent English. Brilliant location for the Louvre.
Extreme helpfulness of most staff. Reference to 'Hot breakfast' Abscence of coffee/tea facilities in room (Neither of these important).
Very friendly personell. The Hotel is unbeatable due to its location near the Luvre. Typical view out of the window onto the inner walls to the oposite building. But therefore very quiet.
location the room
We had an exccellent value for money, were up-graded in a large and classy room with large bathroom (rare in paris). Very central and calm side street Not really
The hotel is very well situated for all principle sightseeing and is quite. Staff are very friendly and for Paris the room was large and lighting was very good. Only complaint was the high cost of the buffet breakfast. You were only allowed either 1 coissant OR 1 piece of bread with the express breakfast, but you did get fruit juice, yogurt and coffee as well.
It's just so expensive and the rooms are super small, the elevator is as tiny as it can be. It's just not very comfortable. For the price i was expecting something better
Great location walking distance to the Louvre and Notre Dome and easy access to subways. The staff were kind and helpful and the building is what you'd expect in the 1st district of Paris (hint the elevators are extremely small). I would definitely stay again when back in Paris.
Very conveneient location, staff was helpful Rooms were quite small
Staff is very kind; location is perfect for visiting Paris; the access to the public transport is also very good. On Saturday evening, the street is very noisy due to the restaurants that are open till the next morning. The rooms could be cleaned overall, on the window sill, under the desk,...
There is nothing to like Dirty , nasty, could not use bathrooms because they where nasty ... Mold grown everywhere .. Floors unvacumed ... Hunks of human hair on carpet ... I asked the manager if she would let her family stay there , she said no ... Had to find a new hotel
Beautiful, cosy room
Very helpful staff, very calm street (no street noise at all), good breakfast Bath tub very old, it was not so pleasant to use it
The hotel was very convenient to the location of my business meeting. The staff was excellent and I would choose this hotel again if the opportunity presented itself.
Location size of the room, very small
Hotel staff are very polite and helpful. The room tastefully decorated and clean. None
This hotel was extremely comfortable, I was delighted with the location of the hotel and would recommend it to friends. Hotel rooms very samll
the staff were helpfulf and the hotel is in a perfect locationn to view to city. i would stay again!
excellent location, very helpful staff, easy walk to most important sites and the latin district rooms are on the small side, but normal for Paris and for the age of the building; hotel worn out a little; closeness to St. Eustache church and gardens atracts homeless population
very clean wifi access not free
I enjoyed the proximity to where I needed to meet people and see a few sites. I just felt that the internet should have been free of charge.
Location only It was 2 star
Friendliness of staff Close to sights No bar Rooms were a little small
Good location, peaceful, good decor.
Very nice location - 10min. to Louvre, 10 min. to Notre Dame, restaurants shopping, metro - within 5 min. walk. Room was very nice - typical Paris budoire style, bathrobe, slippers, kettle in the room and very comfortable orthopedic beds, free WiFi in the room - everything was superb and most of all - very nice helpful friendly staff. I dont have problems with english language - but extra asset to russian travellers - very nice russian speaking lady Olga at the reception. She helped me to book all the excursions. Glass of champagne upon arrival. Definetely very nice holodays! Cant find any - no noice,no any disturbing factors.
relaxing, convenient to metro and sightseeing, nice rooms small elevator
Nice staff If you book a single room beware, they don't tell you that you look out to a 2 foot courtyard and 3 other rooms so you have to keep your curtains closed at all times
This is a charming hotel, perfect for romance and sightseeing, full of character and located within walking distance of most major places of interest. Nearby there are restaurants, a general store and a sandwich bar which sells homemade soups and desserts, run by a vivacious proprietor. Rivoli, a major shopping street, is around the corner. Despite this, the hotel was a haven of peace and quiet. My girlfriend and I had a balcony room on the fifth floor where we could sit, protected from the rain amongst tubs of flowers, enjoying the views. Our room had a mini-bar, coffee making facilities, television, antique bureau, bath robes and slippers. There was a bidet and hairdryer in the shower room, plenty of hot water. Highly recommended!! There was nothing we didn't like. We love this hotel and will stay there again.
Location, friendly staff, atmosphere Rooms a bit tiny but typical of Paris
General location Hard to find at first, for those who are driving.
Location and staff are excellent! Room size is too small for families.
We liked everthing about the Hotel. It is ideally placed for enjoying Paris both during the day and at night. The rooms were well presented, clean and comfortable. But the best thing about this Hotel is the staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them and they were extremely friendly and seemed determined to do everthing they could to make sure we enjoyed our stay: I cannot speak highly enough about them or the Hotel. This was our four or fifith stay in Paris and this Hotel stands head and shoulders above the rest of the Hotels we have stayed in. We shall definately return. Nothing whatsoever.
The location of the hotel is great: near Louvre Museum, rue Rivoli, Les Halles, Centre Pompidou. Lot of restaurants and bars just at few steps from it. The Hotel is small but very clean. The service is good.
Its location. It was very close to where I wanted to be. The room was drab, the carpet worn. The decor was dreary. The matress was hard, lumpy and worn.
Position is perfect!! The staff is very friendly and helpful rooms are too small for families,
Great location especially if you arrive in Paris by train. Rooms are very small.
The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful I would definitely return on my next visit to Paris. No
Very friendly and helpful receptionist and a very clean room The shower made the entire bathroom wet
Location, location, location! Great location in Paris
location and staff
the room is actually pretty noise (outside noise - as expected) but the water pipes in the room are a nightmare
the central location and the staff.
They forget to mention the hotel is located to a construction site so essentially sleeping is impossible due to the terrible noise. The rooms are tiny, they look nothing like the pictures, the elevator can barely fit one carry-on bag and management is delusional. Whoever awarded 4 stars to this hotel must have been tripping on magic mushrooms. It's 2 stars at best despite the renovations in the lobby. For 200 euro a night you are way better off going to the Novotel a block away.
The stuff is very helpful and the location is superb.
Its location is superb! The room was tiny, smaller than most I've seen in big cities in Europe. Its price was not as small as the room would have dictated. It was also very noisy! We could hear the conversations of our neighbors while they ate breakfast early both mornings. And the street noise was loud too, although fortunately our room looked out onto a less busy road.
Quaint hotel with a great location. Convenient to major sites and metro. Staff was helpful and absolutely delightful. Would recommend this hotel!
The fabulous location. Could have done with coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
Close proximity to sites and metro. Great staff recco's on things to do and places to eat, etc.
Comfortable and very accessible location. Breakfast in the room not a plus sign for us due to lack of space. a small breakfast room would be much nicer, maybe convert one room into a break nook.
The location and the comfort of the bed. The room was so small I could hardly turn around. It was really unacceptable for another stay. The shower was so small I could hardly get in and close the door. I should have been warned about this room before I got there, so I could have made a decision about whether to stay or not.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the apartment since there were 5 people, and the room was very spacious and comfortable.
location, next to the Louvre.carparking in front of the hotel
Cute little place wonderfully located right by the Louvre and bus transportation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very brightly decorated but perfect for what you would expect in Paris. European elevators in general are much to be desired. You can barely fit 2 people in them. Did not like that we had to leave the room key with attendant each time we left although it was very easy to retrieve upon our return.
Beds very comfortable, bathroom very modern and clean Room very small but because of above okay
Good, helpful, discrete, pleasant personnel. Building would need some rehaul. Some bathroom equipment and tiling need attention (in perfect working order, but not in best shape). Tv remote control available only for a guarantee; only 24 programs, all in French.
Great location, great price, great staff, clean. I've stayed here twice and can't wait to go back. Room is small but great for a single traveler and good temperature in October. Nothing
Very good location, friendly staff poor soundproofing between rooms
The hotel was convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted me with all information about my stay in Paris. The rooms had a lovely atmosphere and were tastefully decorated. I had a lovely view into the street. It was close to the train station There were some small problems with phoning and the internet, but as soon as I mentioned them they were sorted out. My room was small with a tiny shower. It was perfectly adequate for me but a bigger person may have had difficulty.
Good location. There is a nearby chinese restaurant which provide cheap and good food. Also there is a japanese restaurant (Leader sushi) provide nice food and service. Hotel is very near to metro. No kettle in the room which is very inconvenient. It was my first time to experience such a small shower room and bath room. The hotel a bit like haunted house, quite scary. Not worth for the money.
The hotel is very central. Rooms clean and comfortable. Showers rather small. Staff very pleasant. A pleasant stay. Very small showers. Lift only starts on the first floor.
Location and convenience; friendliness of staff.
We had a great location within walking distance from Notre Dame and the hotel was extremely close to Les Halles for convenience. The staff was not helpful and did help us with a misunderstanding in the booking. The WIFI also did not work.
location The reception did not inform us that there is an extra charge for the 2nd person staying in the room until we check out. Room is too small even for one person.
It's all about the location. Also, we got an actual double bed, not two singles pushed together like most other budget holidays. The hotel completely lacked any sense of atmosphere. While the staff were polite and helpful, a bit of effort to make the lobby and entry more appealing would do the world of good.
5 mins to the louvre museum and metro station.supermarket close to the hotel.cheap breakfast for 1.90euro(1 bread+1 coffee) ,sandwics at 2.70to 4euros,5mins from the hotel. m,water for 1to 2.50euro(1500ml) base on shop.delicious cake around the place.Best location for visitor to lourve museum.can choose with bf or no breakfast.big luggage store for guest and safety because staff always around. shower room & WC is small but still fine for trip whole day outside and back to hotel for sleep.trash basket only 1 in the room.light on coridor not automatic or by sensor,so you have to switch on the light on every floor(coridor)yourself.no lift, and every floor only have 2 to 4 rooms in maximum.no AC in room but we went on sept 7 to 9th,so fine for us.
Confortable bed Even for backpackers is too ugly. They should not charge more than EUR 35 per day and for sure not to be announce in Booking.com
Staff at reception were unhelpful. Telephone in room did not work
We were very dissatisfied with St. Honore and transferred to another hotel for the second night of our stay. The stairs were dangerous with our luggage as there was no lift. Also paint peeling on ceiling and rooms and bathrooms very small. I did not like anything about this hotel.
The hotel was close to the metro and many of the major tourist attractions. The room was not tidy. The toilets/bathroom smelled of urine. We had no hot water on one morning because there is only a limited amount for all the hotel guests. We didn't get up early enough and therefore had no hot water.
Location of hotel was great Lack of any customer service - anything beyond getting a pamphlet was too much trouble. Nothing in the room worked i.e. Hot water was hit and miss, the chair, bed, room safe, TV and wardrobe were all broken. The room was clean, but linen was stained, pillows well past their use-by date and poorly made beds. Smoking in rooms and the narrow unlit stairs were the only way to exit - a fire Hazard!
we liked the fact the hotel was right in the centre of paris. at reception we were told we were on the 5 floor there was no lift as we began walking up the stairs there was in fact 10 full flights of stairs to the room and no tea making facilities.
The location was excellent - it was great for seeing the city. It was very run down and old. We had to walk 112 steps to our rooms (If we had known this we would not have booked). After using my hairdryer, I pulled it out of the electrical socket and the whole outlet came out of the wall, wires and all. The man at the reception was not particularly informative or interested in helping us.
A good clean basic hotel in an excellent position for the centre of Paris.Lots of nice cafes/restaurants in the area and metro 5 mins walk away.Basic rooms - but for 89 Euros in the centre of Paris its great value.Would stay again
Lots of amenities. Beautiful windows overlooking pedestrian path. Room on small side in relation to size of bed but actually had more extra space than many hotel rooms in Paris or other major cities. Luxurious bathroom. Nice buffet. Very well located as it is an easy walk to metro, Seine, Notre Dame, etc.
The hotel is perfectly located. It's very close to les Halles or Chatelet metro station and everything else of interest to tourists. The staff are very polite, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything was excellent and as expected.
Adequate but expensive for a small no air con room lack of air con.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel had charm and character and we enjoyed our stay very much. No parking available and the carpark was a few long blocks away, which made getting our luggage to the hotel a bit tedious.
The staff were so helpful The hotel was closing down as from this week for total refurbishment but looking forward to going back when it repoens
The location was perfect and staff was very polite and helpful. It was good that hotel is located on small street, so it is quite even if you open the window. Breakfast was standard continental, but was enough. I would stay here again for sure!
We liked the location (very close to metro/RER station which took us directly to Disneyworld, walking distance to Louvre); the staff which immediately offered us the map of Paris and explained the whereabouts of anything we wanted to find; the cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms. One out of three days, the service in a cafe at breakfast was slow.
It is very close to Louvre, has an excellent location. It is not the best place for comfort but relatively cheap for the area that the hotel is in.
very quiet, rooms were very comfortable The elevator doesn't reach the top (fifth) floor of the hotel which is where our rooms were. It wasn't a problem for us but could be for some people and they should know that ahead.
Great location; clean room. The reception desk staff was very helpful, especially when we had trouble getting a taxi. The room size, but that's typical of Paris.
We chose the Hotel because of the location and it was a great price. We were very happy with our stay. Some of the doors are heavy which are hard to get through with your luggage.
the lockation We stayed at room 603 it means on the top floor. The elevator is not reaching this floor so it was very difficult with the suitcases. Because of the ceiling slope we could not stand vertically in most of the room area. It is not fair to charge that price for this kind of room.
location was close to the louve and was affordable
Location, Staff, Cleanliness Overpriced
Fine location. Noise from metro systen underground. Noise from waterpipes when in use in other rooms.
The location was really great!!!! Just in front oc the Louvre. Staff was not friendly
Location Room very small.
Extremely convenient location near the Louvre, the islands, restaurants and several metro stops and easy to locate hotel when walking around. Check-in and check-out was convenient; staff was friendly. Bedroom is decently sized considering we spent most of our days out of the hotel and only needed to sleep. Beds were extremely comfortable and there were no noise disturbances. Bathrooms are small and not the most updated, but are kept clean. The amenities (towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner) were not of high quality, but at least they are there.
The location was excellent. The room was not clean and the bed was very uncomfortable. I would not stay there again.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and well situated in the center of Paris. It was nice to stay in a hotel that wasn't overdone with chintz and ruffles for a change. The staff was very pleasant.
Location was excellent. Facilities were adequate.
The level of service given by the staff and management was excellent and beyond our expectations for the hotels 3 stars. We will definitely stay here again. If the hotel coould quieten the noise of the "fire door" at the bottom of the stair well, it would have improved the quality of sleep. We could hear this door slam quite loudly when people came through it at any hour during the night. Unfortunately we did not get to advise the management of this, as we are sure they would have taken steps to mitigate the noise.
Good location and friendly helpful staff.
Hotel in great location. The room was a decent size and nicely decorated - hotel newly renovated. One staff member (Lawrence) in particular provided amazing service. The breakfast was too expensive for what was provided. We had breakfast at the corner cafe where we had great coffee and pastries and was less costly. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room though I was told we could have free hot water anytime from reception for us to make it ourselves.
location and clean; close to metro
I read it's was a renovated hotel. If this is the definition of renovated I had a room with paid on the tapestry . The decoration dated 1970 and even more. The only renovation that I find was the sink.
Very central within walking distance of the metro. Perfect location to visit the Louvre, Bastille and Notre Dame
