The best attitude that I strechal in hotels.
Very nice breakfast with a big variety of food, the personell was really kind and helpful, the room was very clean and the location of the hotel was about 15 minutes walk from the center The food served in the hotel's restaurant didn't meet our expectations and was not as described in the menu
A very professionally run establishment. Excellent English spoken by friendly and helpful staff. Modern and up to date (ahead of most in the UK!). If one enjoys eating in hotel restaurants (this one is good) in the evening do check first if it is being used for private functions - there were 4 during our stay of 8 nights. The full restaurant menu was however available in bedrooms on these nights.
Everything was priety nice, very rich breakfast
Clean, colourful, friendly english-speaking staff. Situated a little away from the center (but 5 minutes from a metro station, one stop to Nevsky Prospect) in the middle of "real life".
The hotel was very clean and modern and the breakfast was very good. There was no tea/coffee making facility in the room and the hotel was a bit far out of the tourist centre making going out in the evening for a meal a bit of an adventure as most menu's did not have English translation.
Nice hotel, new, clear and quite. Good location.
nice, helpful staff spartan
It was our second staying in this hotel and soon we plan to come back again. Wonderful location, 5 minutes from metro. Really good breakfast. Friendly receptionists. Last time they made us free upgrade from Standard till Studio room. Thank you, guys! The only thing that I'd recommend to improve is room cleaning. Sometimes, even after our room was cleaned, we still had lumps of dust.
For the standard of hotel, the service from the personel was disappointing. Very casual behaviour.
nothing to complain about , very good and always look forward to staying . looking forward to log fire downstairs ,it was not on ,oh well next time
the saunas were the best on earth. The staff was great and breakfast very good. Not a five star hotel but a four except pool/saunas/Jacuzzis which were worth the trip and stay alone Location in between Metro stop. Long walk to any transportation. Taxis were thieves
Everything, and when i come back, i come in this hotel.
The spa facilities were excellent and the design of the overall space meant that nothing felt overly large. Having to pay for the spa/pool facilities. It was free from 7-10am which in UK time was 4am to 7am! As we stayed for four days it cost us 4000roubles to swim..
Excellent location, near city center and all tourist attractions. Very good SPA is free for hotel's guests. We came to hotel early in the morning, at 7-30. Check-in was very fast.
Hotel itself is very nice, new and well designed with contemporary interiors. Staff are helpful (by Russian standards) Location is not very central and there is not much outside the hotel. It's a 10-15 mins walk to the centre. I was planning to use taxis but unfortunately taxi drivers overcharge tourists and the minimum fare even for a short hop over the bridge was 500 Roubles (gb£10). The hotel doormen were not at all helpful in helping us get a fair deal and I think the hotel management should do something to ensure that guests can easily have a taxi at a fair price. We ended up walking all the time which gets tiring considering how much walking is involved in sight seeing and museum visits. Beware: if you plan to be out after 1am ask staff about bridges closing at night or you will be out all night!!
Quality of the room, spa and swimming pool facilities, design and location. The food was terrible in the 24 hour bar.
This hotel is a perfect place to enjoy the wonderful city St. Petersburg. There is one small disadvantage: the hotel is located on an island. During best night hours (for night-birds) the bridges to the main part of the city are not passable.
The standard of the hotel was very good. The quality was very good which made the time spent there very relaxing.
spa zone, swimming pool, restaurant, receiption services nothing
the Spa the reception did not give enough informations to be a new guest
The hotel was modern with an excellent breakfast, spa facilities and pool. The rooms were clean and confortable. The hotel is in the center of the attractions with a English speaking friendly staff. The resterant served excellent food. This is Russia and you have the some of the old Soviet attitudes still lingering but it is moderated by the customer driven attitude Solo Sokos is known for and with time will improve.
Third time we have stayed here, enjoy it every time we stay here. good value for money. Friendly helpful staff. good location close to great shopping and near to tourist attractions.
Spacious room (for St.Petersburg), soft comfortable beds, LCD TV with numerous channels, wifi internet is quite fast, complementary drinks for guests central conditioning that can't actually provide comfort temperuture during sleep (rather hot) and window won't open (no handle). Too hot blankets for current weather.
Good location near the city center. The staff was mostly friendly. The room was clean and everything in it worked fine. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows available. The double bed was just two beds pushed together. The gym was under renovation and no information was given about that beforehand.
Excellent, professional staff. Very courteous and helpful wit requests. breakfast buffet was splendid and with plenty of choices. The made-to-order omelettes were delicious! The room was clean and comfortable. This hotel is located to many excellent attractions and is a very good choice for exploring the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. Highly recommended!
Lack of toiletries
Stayed for 4 nights. Very comfortable rooms, modern and clean, beds were very good. Friendly staff with good english. No problems. Helpful with visa support. Good location. Not in the centre where it's touristic and busy, but in a quiet location and easy to walk to the centre. Right by the river. Only used the hotel for sleeping, never ate breakfast there or anything so can't comment. Didn't particularly like that the double bed, was two twins pushed together, the gap in the middle was annoying. One morning there was no hot water for showers, but this was fixed by the afternoon. No idea if this is a recurring problem. Rest of the time it was fine.
Absolutely fantastic, lovely hotel, helpful staff, clean, cosy rooms and good location next to the river. Don't worry about getting around, the concierge can order you city taxis which are very reasonable and the hotel is within walking distance to the fortress, Hermitage and centre.
I liked our bed) nothinghttp://www.booking.com/review/a93af21870730bb7.en.html?label=review_im;aid=304142
You actually offered better rooms than we had booked. The staff was friendly and tolerant with children. The hotel was at walking distance for the main sights.
Clean, very good room, good service
We lived in a very quiet room with a good view of Vasilie Island. The hotel is close to the Winnter Palace and the Metro. The beds are not comfortable. They are too soft.
Nice view on the Bay Hairdryer upon special request in lobby
Stop and read this! I travel all the time, and with my experience I learned to identify hotels from one star to 5 star hotels. This particular hotel is not a 4 star hotel. A 3 star hotel would have a shower gel, small soap, fan for your hair. And when you get a delux room you may also get rob, and flippers. At this hotel you get none of the things I described. And if you make a request to bring it you to your room, then they charge you a fee. I asked for a Bay view room. I got a side view room, looking over the roof of Aqua park. Location of this Hotel very far from the city, and if you use a Taxi, they charge you arm-and-a- leg. This Hotel is huge, and No-one to take your luggage. I would not recommend this Hotel. 2 star at best.
Rooms have been fully renovated and became modern and updated since our last visit a few years ago. You can feel western style management of the hotel. We booked golf view but got side room - so it was not worse it to pay extra for such view at all. No mini bar / fridge in the room. Nothing except of handgel and showergel in the bathroom - not even a hairdryer. One of the days TV didn't work (they told us it was some maintenance)
1) Personnel - communication at the receiption desk. 2) Absence of the hygiene kit in the room. 3) Room key could stop working anytime. 4) Receptionist (there was only one like that) lacking the information about hotel services.
To air condition & to fagito the personal should learn english
there were a good spa and wellness gym and tasty breakfast) , room comfort, poor infrastructure at the hotel, high price for poor service, location (((
Still it is "huge" hotel you can get your own privacy as well. Quiet rooms Sortiment of toiletries very limited, no minibar, rather poor breakfast. They did not find my Booking.com reservation.
aquapark very good and it is exciting for children minibus number 248 transfer between hotel and nearest metro station(primorskaya) and bus number 7 transfer between hotel and city center (nevsky prospekt street )
The facilities was great, the staff was mostly friendly, the concierge were not knowledgeable, and or adept enough to know that when you give someone names of banks on a piece of paper, it would also be nice to give them directions to these locations. The Spa facility were excellent..breakfast buffet ok, but never ever changed..same menu everyday.. This hotel charges for internet service, but in a rather deceptive kind of way, you pay 600RUB for 1 day internet use, but they fail to point out that you get a total of 250mb to go with it...so if you happen to download anything of any size, your 250mb is gone in 60 minutes...after 4 such occurrence, I decided that it was more cost effective to purchase a wireless card...600RUB can purchase internet for a month...Their room service policy/practices leaves a lot to be desired, you order hot water for medicine, and they charge you 130RUB for hot water, then another charge of 130RUB to deliver it to your room...a hotel this size should have coffee/tea maker in every room...you expected more for 84000RUB...this hotel is way off the beaten path
The hotel is very close to metro station Vladimireostrovskaya. Also a lot of busses are located at the metro station. Quiet area.
It is perfect place to spend the weekend in St Pt. with husband or with children. There are some interesting tours especialy for kids (visit to warship and doll's museum, aquapark). It is not center of city, but it is very cozy place, close to Neva river. The room was very comfortable and spacious ( for me was very nice the floor heating in bathroom), the reception girls were open and friendly. Breakfest is smorgasbord, with diiferent choice of snack ( may not so much as in 5stars hotels:) We have a little problem with electronic key ( it didnt work, when we came back from night walk), and also we awaited for our omlet at the breakfast too much time:(
The hotel offers a very homely atmosphere.
Just the place and interior of the hall and room, they gave me after my request to change the previous one. The girl on the reception was really terrible, unpolite to me in everything:in talking, in pose, in explainig the rules and for the other request with check-out. it took me 25 minutes to get the reciept.
Only the bathroom was good.It is not far from the main interesting sites. We arrived late at night and nobody helped us with the luggage. Our roon was in the third story of the bullding but the elevator did not worked, so we had to carry our luggage up.They did not clean the room at all for 3 days we stayed there. Some of the stuff were unkind.Every time we opened the water there was a kind of snoring and noise. It is not 4 stars may be 2-3 stars.
Nicely decorated clean rooms, good location, quiet. Good breakfast buffet, especially the sausages)) Polite restaurant staff. Smelly water, the reason of which the staff failed to explain. awful elevator that's not big enough for two people, let alone two people with luggage (especially important if you live on the 5th floor). No 24-hour room-service and malfunctioning Wi-Fi during the whole 4-day stay. Restaurant closes early, too often used for corporate events. Low-key service that's sometimes too "low".
bed, dressing Very thin walls, audibility, just as if the walls are not quite. Sleep is impossible due to the fact that any sound is heard. This is a critical parameter.
Great afternoon tea and cheesecake!
nothing it was old ,derty and much diffrent beteen photoes and realety
As always, good level from Marriott Hotels.Big rooms, excellent facilities,a very pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. There no shuttle-bus to the centre, or to the nearest underground station.
location and international service
cleanliness of the room
To be frank .... nothing! I will never visit it again Nothing comparable with Marriot chain. Unhelpfull and very laid back staff; Non-existent concierge (did not even have a map of the city to give us), very limited menu (no menu for children), no entertainment. Definitely ... not value for money paid! I also believe the management is not up to the Marriot required standards
The staff is very friendly and speaks very well English. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Trams and buses have stops close to the hotel. The rooms are a bit noisy. I was bothered by the neighbours noise which lasted until 4 am despite warnings by the hotel staff. However they did provide me with another room the next day.
Everything was fine Breakfast was very poor
They let us early check-in, room is spacious & clean. Bit far from city center (Nevsky prospect) if you are walking.
We booked Trezzini after much research due to it's proximity to the University, where my daughter is studying. Turned out it was not anywhere near her dorm but the graciousness, luxury, and value of the hotel made the choice delightful. Our room was wonderfully appointed with bottled waters aplenty, Chopard toiletries, robes, slippers, and essentials. We were greeted with champagne and chocolates upon our arrival and subsequent returns. Hotel was located across the river from the Admiralty and Winter Palace - all easy walks, even in November. Staff were wonderful - particularly Hrai and Anastasia, in the restaurant. I highly recommend it and will stay here, if I am ever fortunate enough to return - lovely! There was nothing I did not like - it was fabulous!
Staff very frinedly and all spoke English. Room comfortable (but see below) and furnished and decorated to a good standard and had a refridgerator. Nice location, with main sights in city within walking distance. Location also good for local amenities (shops, restaurants, transport). Reccommended. First room we were given had a sofa bed, not a proper bed, and was un comfortable. For this price, a hotel should never offer such a bed. However, we asked to change rooms and the new room was very nice. Breakfast rather limited - they should vary the menu a bit and include some fresh fruit. No lounge area; they should adapt the breakfast room so that it becomes more of a lounge during the day. No English language tv in the rooms. More like a very nice Bed and Breakfast, in a way, but a very pleasant and relaxed place to stay. We would be happy to go back there!
location, interior awkward furniture, amateurishness of hotel staff
The location was convenient to me. The breakfast was rather poor in terms of range in choices, also the airco did not work for a number of days ( 6 days ) inspite repeated requests for repair of this unit. ( I stayed total 10 nights at this hotel.! )
good location for reasonable price, nice staff, tiny&cosy lack of water dispenser on the room floor
Great hotel, very relaxing atmosphere. Staff is eager to help.
The staff was very helpful. They added an extra bed upon our request for only 750 RUB, when our friends decided to stay in our room. Very clean and really quiet hotel. There was no problem to check in as early as 9:00AM. The breakfast lacked some variety.
The staff were very very friendly and helpful, making great efforts even if the English of some was poor. I was even allowed use the staff computer to send a semi urgent email. This sort of individual care and flexible home like atmosphere is a plus. The room was warm, quiet, clean, well serviced and the location was not too distant a walk to the bridge and from there the city proper. The hotel arranged airport transfers, the drivers of which were very good and had quality cars
After my short visit to St.Petersburg, I can say that I am completely satisfied with the service of Shelfort Hotel. Especially their hospitality and kindness was very admirable.
Quiet location. Good staff. Free parking. There is no air conditioner.
Convenient location, within 10 minutes walk from metro station. Friendly staff. Clean bathroom and spacious bedroom. Quiet environment. Good price. Staff are helpful but not all of them can speak English. Hotel is old-fashioned. Carpet in bedroom is not clean. Water must be run for a while in the morning before it becomes hot.
the room was very spacious and comfortable
I stayed here twice during this year and can describe it as having quite a good location fair 3 star hotel. Room and bath-room are quite spacious for such level of hotel. Both times there was a bad smell in the room: first time - unpleasant canalization smell, second - cigarette smoke smell, which clung to the room for some hours. It could be also a good idea in my opinion to have some hot meal for the breakfast.
Foireann an-chabhrach.-, le aitmasfear suaimhneach. Ceantar ciuin, go leor aiseanna mor-thimpeall. Congarach don metro an choras teas larnach, seomra ro-the, gan cumas e a athru.
Close to the center (30 min by walk) & subway (metro station 5 min), cosy, quietly, no noise from the street or another rooms, good breakfast time 8.30-10.30, nice area around the hotel. no special city or sightseeing tours in the hotel.
Very good room design. More of the staff should be able to speak English if they wish to cater to non-Russian business people. Breakfast was good. My main issue is the security system. Being buzzed in was never a problem. However, the only way to leave your section of rooms (to either leave the hotel or get to breakfast/main desk) is to be buzzed by a staff member. Twice, I had to wait for someone to get to the desk to be buzzed out.
Very nice rooms, not big but modern and in one "boat" style with the whole hotel. By the way nearby - the sea. Additional food by order was from semi-finished product - not tasty.Regular breakfast was average, not bad for that money, without variety.
The hotel rooms are very nice designed, large and comfortable. The location of the hotel is far away from the city, although they have a car service to the metro.
