Grand Mercure is associated with the Sofitel. When we encountered an issue with our room's electrical problem, we were immediately moved to a very up-scale room in the Sofitel. Even though the price was more than the Grand Mercure, the price given was as if at the Grand Mercure. Our compliments to Amelia the Sofitel manager. Close proximity to sightseeing in the downtown area.
Quick check in. Location was pretty good. Room was clean and tidy. Room a bit small. Bathtub leaked, but not my problem.
good location, friendly and helpful staff
This hotel is the perfect choice of staying in Xian. Very nice enviroment, luxury, perfect cooperation with the staf. It was great staying there.
Staff quality was very high. Quiet hotel, near the city center. top quality of different services. Very good hotel. No negative comments
Excellent location, nice hotel and very comfortable.
The staff responded quickly to my requests. First we were put in a smoking room with burn marks on the carpet even though I reserved a non-smoking room. We were switched to another room, but carpet was still old and dirty. Beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. The hotel did not have heat so my room was cold. I specifically chose this hotel because the website said it had a children's playroom. When we asked about it, the staff told us there is no playroom. If I had known this, I never would have reserved a room at this hotel. I was extremely disappointed and upset. I will not stay at the Grand Mercure again. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.
The size of the room was great, service excellent, very good breakfast, but location at the far end of the square and not so close to city life is a small handicap, easily overcome by the price...Seems to me perfect for seminar or congress As above, location is not ideal when you go in and out...
Clean room with helpful hotel bellboy. The hotel charges is different from the original booking.
Very big complex with several restaurants, a spa and many services. Excellent staff and very good breakfast. The room looks old and needs to be renovated. Not to Mercure standards in some ways.
Very nice hotel, nice room
Too hard beds!
The whole area is a very nice development; Mercury is the least expensive of the hotels in this area (there are 4 others), but it is very well designed and decorated; very good breakfast; you can use sofitel swimming pool and saunas free of charge. Some people may find that mattress is too hard
the room was good. Taxi service was readily available. Stores were within walking distance. the cost of hotel transportation to and from the airport is too expensive. The driver was not there to meet us when we arrived at the airport. We waited for about 30 minutes looking for the driver. Maybe the reception staff at night are not quite receptive towards people, but it seemed the staff tried to hurry me when checking in. The bill was not explained very well and I felt like I was being charged twice for the same room, by credit card and by cash. I had to find out myself that I was charged by cash instead of credit card although I had made reservation by credit card. Anyway, I hope I was not charged twice.
High quality for a economic price.
Very quiet, while in the center of the city (inside the City Wall) Nothing
The location was good. Walking distance to Drum Tower, Bell Tower, Muslim Street etc. Buffet breakfast had a large variety of both Western and Asian goodies. Hotel was tired and rooms in need of a renovation. Allowing guests to smoke in the foyer is a huge annoyance. Smokers should be asked to smoke well away and outside.
Very beutiful hotel. Willing staf. The agency indicated by the hotel was very poor. The tour provided to terracota soldiers was very poor, disgusting restaurant, guide with bad english, too many stops for shopping.
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was extremely service-oriented. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and most staff spoke very good English Everything was fine.
Good value for money and good location. The hotel staff didin't speak any English.
Great price, and can't complain much on that basis Mainly focussed to domestic travellers, and staff's limited English, combined with low-cost, low service, ethos, meant there was little help/support/information available.
Basic but clean and was exactly what we wanted. Near to where the airport bus drop off/pick up point and not far from Bell and Drum towers. Hard but comfy beds. Staff could do with speaking a little more English.
Inexpensive accomodation not far from city center and railway station. Next to bus stops (many lines). 20 minutes walk to Bell Tower. Tourist agency
