In the spirit of competition, we’ve analysed over one billion searches, spread over all 40 international KAYAK sites, to find out how countries are planning their travels to Rio this August. Competing in eight different categories, the travellers of the world have been pitted against each other in what we’ve called the International Travel Games. We’re pleased to announce that Hong Kong has taken second place in two categories!
We narrowly lost to Japan in the ‘Mobile’ category, awarded to the KAYAK site with the highest percentage of flight searches to Rio performed on mobile devices for an August departure. We were also out-searched by the Austrians, taking a commendable second place in the ‘Family’ category, awarded to the KAYAK site with the highest percentage of flight searches for three or more travellers to Rio during August.
