Personnel were very helpful, and breakfast was very good. No elevator, therefore not handicap friendly; outrageous prices for internet use.
you need a car if you stay there...
the breakfast guests have to pay for the htel parking
Staff very friendly and efficient Poor location if you want to go into the city
It was clean and quiet. Room was small as compared to others I stayed in. Did not like twin beds separated. Breakfast was good.
The room was spacious, the breakfast was very good.
It is clean and quiet. There is no lift. We have to carry our luggage to go upstairs.
Staff was very hepful and polite, hotel was very clean
confusion and expensive brekfast expensive brekfast 15 euro person in not came again
I llike the comfort, the breakfast and the hotel facilities. When I made my reservation online I checked not smoking room. In my check in I was given a smoking room. Of course, the reception clerk changed the room, but he said the hotel is not obligated to follow the guest options.
Friendly staff with excellent command of multiple languages Nice shower with great water pressure
The hotel was "Perfectly" located close to everything like public transport, old city, restaurants, shopping and also easy access to main attractions of the city. The rooms were clean and large, staff friendly and concerned about our satisfaction and needs.I Would give this hotel 10/10 None actually.Just that carpet was not clean in some places, we could see dark spots.
I thought that the staff was tremendously helpful and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed breakfast and the overall cleanliness of the hotel.
Overall cleaness of the hotel Tv was not working.
great location, the room is big enough for us, and the internet work very will.
The hotel was conveniently located. The room was very large and clean. Overall we thought it was a great value.
Everything was great. Great location.
Excellent position, nice staff and comfortable room. Very good bakery really near the hotel with buttered pretzels!
Very clean and comfortable. Right in the centre. Need an alarm clock. Also can be a bit noisy from trams and people out late at weekends
Room was very pleasantly decorated. Just across street from Hauptstrasse to walk in old city of Heidelberg Hotel garage was a little difficult to get in and out of.
We battled to find the address
Room was large, neatly decorated and had a very modern large bathroom as well. The room was consistently hot and when you try to cool it off by opening the windows you were faced with a smell of burnt food mixed with cigarettes from a restaurant next-door. Do not stay in a room facing the courtyard. Our room was 126, which was particularly bad. Additionally the hotel walls appear to be very thin and we seemed to be able to hear noise from all over the hotel.
Pleasent location and facilities
Very nice hotel and specially very friendly people in the front. My room was big, clean, with a very nice view. It is very easy to find and it has a parking place connected to the hotel, so you can access your car without walking too much (safe from rain). The breakfast was not included.
inside architecture and space proportions, deco color schemes quality of materials and outfits Very pleasant for the connoisseur
The hotel was in a typical turn of the centry building, but with all the modern necessities of a modern hotel. Very nice, comfortable architecture. The hotel was also very close to the city center (5 min walk through a beautiful garden). Internet in the lobby was also available and free. No complaints at all.
spacious rooms, very modern and luxury bathroom, wooden floors (clean)
Central location was good and staff was friendly, The hotel was being renovated however I never heard a thing in the room. This is my second time in this hotel! I was not informed of the hotel renovations.. luckly they were very understanding and very quiet.
Good location, nice clean room and kind reception staff. It was slight difficult to find a car parking area. Hopefully bath.
Selection of Hotels in Mannheim is small - this is the most convenient and comfortable one.
Very quiet ! Not enough international TV channels
location noise from pumps?or heating/cooling equipment
It's location to the shopping center & attractions, also the very friendly & helpful staff, along with the clean lesure facilities.
Very helpful staff and excellent location
The central location, and elegant feel. Breakfast price. Although the food was great, I felt it was overpriced.
Nice and clean room. Easy access to public transportation. There are restaurants and shops when you walk across the street.
It has all that you need as restaurant, bar and a excellent spa. Our room was a litle small and do not has captain bell to help us with the luggage
The room was spectacular! Very comfortable, well furnished- amazing night sleep! the spa area was very nice- very clean and large enough to accommodate everyone without feeling crowded. it was quite close to the city and very accessible by car from the motorway. The breakfast was ridiculously over priced! We didn't try it but were quite insulted that in such a nice hotel they have the audacity to charge that much for some bread and eggs! The parking as well was ridiculous especially because from Saturday afternoon until monday morning its free to park on the street (highly recommended).
Facilities are outstanding, great pool area. Checked in a 1400, tried to make a reservation to the restaurant only to be told that is was already booked/reserved by an entire group. Parking is expensive, but I've always complained about it and it will never change.
it was a marvelous hotel very fine designed which covered all my expectations , small but fine . tip ask for a suite over viewing the river !
It's location was perfect oberlooking the old town which was just a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself is excellently presented and the staff are extremely professional. It offers a spa which we didn't use, rear gardens with a summer house and jaccuzi again we didn't have time to take advantage of these facilities. Room very comfortable and clean. The fact that the carpark attached to the hotel was charged to you at at rate of 15 Euro's per day. It is incredibly small and I feel that the charge was unneccessary given the cost of the hotel.
Quality suroundings, amenities & location.
The hotel has an amazing view over Heidelberg and includes stunning rooms and really friendly staff. It's a little on the pricey side
Beautiful & attentive to details decoration; outstanding & proactive guest service;
Great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. Good personally service and excellent decor.
The comfort , silence and the cleanness in the hotel. The hotel procedures hotel are as an european hotel ( I was expecting an american procedure ). By the value of money I recommend this hotel. The staff of the hotel needs to be better trainned to provide information about the city and surroundings.
The bathroom needs complete remodling and renewing.
Staff were excellent
Friendly, clean and nice hotel The sap facilities might be more attractive
During his stay at the hotel most of all I liked how the staff restaurant I did not like that from my hotel bill withdrew the amount is more than I spent. So, during my stay my account was blocked more than 4000 euros, while the cost of my stay was 2800 euro. At the reception I was told that within 3 days the amount will be refunded to me, but the last 7 days, and the money to my account and not credited. I think that this is not good practice to hotel
Easy to find close to the old town. You get what you expect Service in the bar, we finally left without being serviced.
Lage dinner on the sept 19th was not good. My steak was luke warm to cold. I was very dissapointed. I am Marriott Vacation Club member.
The food was great and the location suited us very well
The hotel bar and staff was friendly with an excellent atmosphere. the location was not great. There was nothing else nearby. We had to go into the old town to find anything of interest.
Very comfortable room, with attention to details. Nice swimming pool and gym facilities, excellent choice for breakfast
View of the river/river walk to downtown was nice. We enjoyed the walk, but it may be far for some (2Km). The king size bed was very comfortable and the sheets were soft. We booked business room, which entitled us to the business room only for snacks and breakfast. It was a nice quiet area for sitting, reading, eating and worth the extra money. The breakfast was very good. Check out was slow
it is an old house in an old area it is an old house hence no elevator
There was a great selection for Breakfast. Large rooms, good location They made me pay in cash, I was told from this site I could pay by credit card
It had an interesting flair, the the lower floor with the breakfast room and to some extent the stairway displayed some classical flair, 19/20 century. The lady who was there in the morning was very friendly and very attentative. No phone in the room. Only a little phone booth in the hallway without a number for this phone available. Since after eight there was no one at the reception, no one could call me. The main entrance door closes with a really loud bang if you don't close it slowly. It kind of shakes the whole building which is especially disturbing at 1 AM. The group of drunkards coming home early in the morning and letting the door slam did not help.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Curtain required repair. Television badly located in room.
Everything was excellent,
I arrived early, but the staff allowed to storage my baggage into the hotel. There is a mysterious picture on the floor in a corner of the room.
good localization, good breakfast, silent lift and room without dust
Very comfortable, lovely courtyard, close to Altstadt and other attractions. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Good personnel The hotel is under reconstruction and full of dust! Getting to my room on the 4th floor (no lift) meant climbing through a construction zone! I have asthma and a broken rib. This was a painful and unhealthy experience.
A lady was very kind.
Freindly staff Small Rooms.
The hotel is entirely new (interior) and is meticulously clean and comfortable; the staff were excellent. Ideal for a one or two night stay. Limited parking. The hotel garage was state of the art, but could not accommodate my E Class Mercedes as it was too long to stack and the on street parking meters will not allow one to purchase a ticket in the evening that is valid when required from 7 am the next day.
Modern rooms. Simple and efficient.
The rooms are very funky and have good quality fittings. The hotel is in a quieter location, but not too far from the Aldstadt. No iron/ironing board in room
comfortable rooms, clean and nicely decorated. If you leave the window open, it is quite noisy. A/C is available, however, I prefer to have fresh air.
Reamrkably good restaurant inside the hotel. Polite available staffa at the restaurant. Very cold and unavailable staff at the reception desk. Smiling is an unknown facial effort to them. On request help was delivered about the free internet available on the concierge desk only at the price of evident impatience. The parking lot is not high enough for a car taller than a spider. Parking on the roads is very expensive on working days.
Excellent attention to making this a great place to stay if you have any allergies or sensitivities to chemicals. The restaurant is quite nice, with a great chef. Rooms are spacious and the location is a short walk from the old city and all the attractions of Heidelberg.
Chic, modern rooms. Decent location within walking distance of the Altstadt and convenient access to public transportation. Staff was very efficient. I felt like I was being 'nickled and dimed,' having to pay extra for breakfast and internet access. At other hotels I stayed on this holiday, internet and breakfast was included.
Very good service and friendly staff No
Brand new facilities, big rooms. Logical rate for wireless internet access. Rather poor breakfast.
Comfortable Hotel promoted wifi on Booking.com but staff had no idea about it. Couldn't log at all. Also it advertises restaurant for meals. The night we were there it was closed.
- Hotel staffs were very friendly. We experienced very good memory. If you visit Heidelberg with car, this hotel can be a good choice.
As we had a hire car and parking in Heidelberg is very difficult this hotel had parking and was on the edge of town the tram ran right past the door to travel into the centre. The rooms were clean and comfortable. For the price and 3 stars there was not anything i did not like
Of the several hotels in its class that we stayed at in Germany this was the best
Wonderful, helpful staff, extremely clean & welcoming personal touches, great location w/plenty of parking, good breakfast, dining outside enjoyable, easy walk to local stores & transporation around the corner. We loved it! Shower a little small and low water pressure, but the bathroom seemed new very well layed out.
Access to public transportation to downtown.
wonderful breakfast inconsistent room style: old door frames and wardrobe are ugly compared to the bavarian bed
Very friendly management, lovely breakfast, relaxed atmostphere, ease of getting into town by using public transit. we have no complaints.
It is situated 15 minutes out of heidelberg, but hotel provides tram tickets, The owners are charming and very willing to help. The location is ideal for autobahns to Koln or Munchen. Maybe provide tea/coffe making facilities in the room.
friendly staff Towels are too hold and not soft. Room carpet is old and dirty.
clean free car park Calm Coffee machine and water The internet access is a RIP OFF !!!! Free of charge, the line is 512 K which is just ridiculeous in the 21rst century. The premium access is charged 10 euros per 24 hours for a promised 100 Mb line...I paid and I had 3 Mb !!!! Despite a complain, nothing back ! the bar is also very limited :(
It was near the location where I have a course Breakfast is too expensive, and wifi is not free. It would be nice if it would be included.
Pool area was very clean and tidy. Room was well decorated and a safe in your room was excellent. We felt that as a four star hotel there would have been tea and coffee making facilities in your room, very disappointed there was not. All hotels in England have this facility. The cost of the breakfast was also very expensive.
Located near Lueisn Park and the staff being freindely and very helpful No
Clean and modern no kettle in room
Thse staff was friendly, the room had nice view Windows could not be fully opened. Breakfast was not included and was expensive (15 euros)
There was a problem in that they had not booked a triple room, but this was sorted with minimal fuss in that they gave us an extra room for free. We were travelling with children, and although the menu etc did not have children;s options, and we were worried about being out of place at dinner, the restaurant staff were really kind and brought free ice cream and noodles for our younger children and made us feel at home. Nice to have swings and slide outside for them to play on too. Rooms reasonably spacious - quite nosiy from car park and main road, but no problem for us. Located just across the road from the fantastic Luisenpark, where we spent a whole day. The swimming pool was really nice but very cold! The hotel was further away from the main shops and restaurants than we expected, but a nice 15-20 min walk (through the amazing Wasserturm and fountain square - you must see the fountain at night).
The fresh orange Jose in the reception desk The bath towel is old and bad smell , toilet is small , the building is very old but the furniture is new
Nice TV, room very clean and well furnished.
room was comfortable and it was a good price. not too far from the centre with lots of public transport.
Staff were very helpful, breakfast was lovely. The location is just a 10 minute tram stop for the Heidelberg. The hotel has maps and info for help! Size of room was very good. Our room was a tripple room and an extention above a garage. On first glance i wondered if it would be ok. But it was clean and comfortable and exciting for the kids climbing the ladder!
Location and ease of transport
the service , the staff , the location and breakfast Parking challenge afternoon, bed mattress were too soft [ got up in the morning with back pain ] , going up the stairs [ no elevator] with heavy suitcase is not comfortable . the room is missing a desk and chairs .
Spacious rooms, clean and well designed. Construction nearby and no hotel parking- a little distant from the river.
The staff were helpful but do not normally help with suitcases You could easily issue a location map, it was difficult to find and to park. Our bedroom looked out onto some dismal roofs; the balcony was for smokers, the ash tray, cigs all over roof needs to be cleaned. For its facilities it is expensive.
The Tower Room was lovely and having a real double bed in Germany is a rarity.
The Staff was courteous and accomodating to english speaking quests. The breakfast(included) excellent-the food was fresh. We would stay again. It's location is 3km from the old city but the hotel only 1/2 block (a 12 miniute ride) from the tram stop. The tram costs about 2 euro each way per person parking is on the street but it is not easy finding place close to the hotel
Charming room with very good sound proofing. Despite being on a busy road, with the blinds and windows closed we couldn't hear a thing! It was a little further away from things than we expected, but for four of us it cost the same to get a taxi to the train station as it would have to get public transport.
The staff were very efficient and freindly, we had a very spacious and comfortable room and were allowed to park in the private hotel parking area. The hotel is very easy to reach from the motorway and very convenient for visiting the touristic sites of Heidelberg beingshort tram ride away.
Great breakfast, room size was small, but no smaller than a typical B&B in Europe. WiFi worked well in our room and down in the lobby.
Friendly and helpful staff. Superb breakfast. Nice rooms. Great location. Just off main street. Highly recommended. Nothing.
Staff were always attentive and friendly.
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I will definately be staying there again when I go back to Heidelberg. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equiped and the staff were really nice and very helpful. It was also in the perfect location and although it was just off the main shopping street (Hauptstrasse) it wasn't noisey. I can't recommend it enough. Nothing.
Everything about this hotel was excellent. I especially liked how my room opened up to a charming little roof garden (even though I couldn't use it). The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The locasion is good, the staff was excelent and frindly, what do you need more?
breakfast bathroom a little bit smealy
Good location with parking, good breakfast. nice room
Staff excellent, very helpfull. Breakfast great, lovely setting. Location perfect right in heart of old town.Parking on site. Wi Fi kept dropping out, staff tried hard to correct the problem.
friendly staff; parking facility; excellent breakfast; location; n/a
Super nice staff
very nice staff, lovely rooms
Restaurant is really good. Apartment is huge, lies in a very quiet part of Heidelberg. Very friendly staff Rooms needs to be updated. Bathroom is outdated, and does not function properly. Price is too high
i only liked the view there 1. when i first arrived no one check me in. 2. i wanted the check out befor my departure date and they did not agree to setle and wanted me to pay the full amount. 3. they do not clear my apartment unless i tell them so and if i was not in it they just tidy the beds an go. 4. they came to the appartment and tok all my empty water bottels without telling me. they told me that the internet cost 3 euro per day and then they charged 10 euros. they told me when i ask for a washing machine that it is ok to use theres and when i put 2 load they told me it is 15 euros per wash.the owner told me to change my departure date so that booking.com wont take chargers for my full stay. the rooms are too small. there are no window shutter and it is noisy.
Small friendly family operated
Fantastic atmosphere - a real pearl of a hotel
Friendlyness Parking your car is a nightmare
Nice hotel, especially the inner courtyard is very peaceful and a blessing on hot and humid summer days (coupled with the lack of A/C in the rooms). They say it has been renovated 2007 and you can definitely see that! The fact that the staff includes one French and one Italian waiter sure increases your chances to communicate (they also speak English). Very nice staff. The hotel is rather far away (>40 min walking, trams get you there rather fast, though) from the historical city center. But it is somewhat close to the Cancer Center and that's what mattered for me. There's not much variety in the breakfast menu (without being too scarce, either), but I understand that for a small hotel it's hard to have too much of an offer (and just a handfull of customers).
Hotel was clean and tidy. Also had good character.
The restaurant is good. Hotel is oriented towards local German travellers. Staff spoke very little English. Not much guidance available for planning city trip.
For whatever reason best know to the hotel, we paid for a regular double room through the site, and ended up with a suite. I am sure that we were just very very lucky, but the hotel is fantastic. The rooms that we saw are all to a high specification and the staff are very helpful. As a little tip the rooms are over 30 Euros cheaper if you specify no breakfast. It is a bit of a walk to the old town, 20 minutes, but it really isn't that big a deal and should not put you off.
loved those mosaic tile heated lounges. they were really incredible after a cold day of visiting heidelberg thermostat on furnace still kept room to warm. perhaps going to digital would be easier to work.
Breakfast buffet. Very good and much better than similarly priced breakfast from Leonardo hotels nearby.
Convenience of underground car park When arriving by car not too easy to see the entrance, which if you pass it involves a tricky manoeuvre - I nearly had an accident
Modern, comfortable, well-maintained About ten minutes walk to the old town: for sightseeing something closer might have been better.
the air conditioning was not working, we complained 5 times and instead of telling us it was out of order, apparently for some time, we were told that they were adjusting the temperaure to 0 degrees C, which of course didnt work! we received different excuses, technicians not available, other rooms had the same problem etc
I had to stay in a smoking room despite having notified weeks in advance that i was a non smoker! very displeasant experience!
good location close to the altstadt, very nice room and excellent bar with a big screen for sports
buffet breakfast, efficient service, polite manner, great locaton, great facilities. wifi was terrible, when our power went out reception didn't do anything about it until i asked 3 times.
Hotel was very nice looking from the front desk. I really hoped I could stay there. Staff was helpful and made sure I was as taken care of as I could be for the situation I booked only to turn up and find that their was no availability so I was shipped to another hotel that was not as nice.
Great city; very friendly and convenient to all. Also has great beer! All good
Large room, convenient location directly between the HBF and Altstadt Way too expensive for a basic room
Most important is one key per person. Not one between two. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Central location of hotel. One very small detail. Shower would not get hotter than luke warm. Not a big deal.
Customer service was excellent and the room as you would expect from a Holiday Inn (or hotel of similar type).
Nice straff and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel was good situated in the citycentrum
You have to pay to use the internet, that is so dumb when it is so simple for the hotel to provide. Also, having so many English speakers visiting the hotel, there was only one channel for English and that was CNN.
The location is perfect, rooms are very clean and buffet breakfast is excellent.I found it was very good value for money and I would recommend this hotel to everyone
Staff was vey friendly. There was a mouse running around the lobby and bar area. The staff was aware and seemed undisturbed.
Elevator and Escalator was not working upon arrival. Had to walk up two flights of stairs with bags in order to check in.
Nice pool; great location for shopping; clean, comfortable room Parking garage is a bit small
My room was nice, quiet and clean. Nice furniture and bathroom. Excellent location, only a few steps away from the Wasserturm, pedestrian zone, shops, cinemas, etc. I walked there from the station, so this is also very near. Staff was professional and friendly. Maybe bathroom supplies should be IN the room, without guests having to ask for them. I arrived quite late and really didn't want to wait for someone bringing them to me, and all I found in the bathroom was shower gel and soap. Only German channels on TV (but pay TV was available). Finally, for those prices maybe a small breakfast should be inluded in the price (18 euros is way too much).
The location was great. There were plenty of stores and restaurants in the local area. The pool was a lot of fun. It was a little difficult to find the hotel. The beds were too hard.
Location, English speaking staff Had to pay for parking
The friendliness of the owner and staff. Super location in the old town.
Management exceptionally helpful and generous, it was a pleasure to stay at such a friendly hotel
Very welcoming and helpful staff. The hotel is close to the main attractions of old Heidelberg. Also close to many shops and restaurants. Convenient car-parking available.
People were freindly, nice. Place was clean. Breakfast was good.
Helpful staff. Even the not so quiet room was quiet. They even had a weighing scale for me to weight my luggage and so that shop accordingly and not exceed airline limits. I did exceed that limit but at least it helped :)
The kleen room. The cable T.V. The parking place for our car. The nice welcome by the reception The fact that there was no air conditioner, while the weather was very hot.
The location is perfect because it is quite central in the city but very quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was quite disappointed. The cost was much higher than its value.
Hotel was very helpful. Gave us a map and told us about all the sights. We did not eat breakfast there because of my diet but, they brought us coffee every morning. We enjoyed the uniqueness of the hotel and location a lot.
I appreciated a lot the kindness and helpfullness of the staff. Also, the room was very clean and the breakfast buffett nice.
It is very close to the center. Like a family hotel... Parking place is terrible. and very expensive 25 Euro for 1 night.
The hotel is well located in the city center, and it's in the middle of the shoping center and other important sites in Heiselberg.
Family hotel feeling. Very quiet.
Very close to shops and transport but on a quiet street. Only short walk from the river and the castle.
Good location (about 100 m from the main plaza). The building seemed to be recently renovated. Staff was nice and friendly. Wireless internet connection did not work well, though it might be due to my computer. There was no elevator so I had to carry a heavy suitcase to the 4th floor by myself.
good location, extremly friendly staff
proximity to oldtown compared to other hotels the breakfast was very basic
The location of this hotel is good. However, it is not possible to park a car besides the hotel. Also, there is no lift facility.
It is a good location. My wife and I found this b/b a most depressing place. this is not a hotel, just a very bad guest house. reception and dining room compares in size to a fone box. no lift. terrible climb to top floor. inches of dust under our bed. poor breakfast. flash gorden tv with 3 channels. no reception after 8pm. if you need something or you loose your key your in big trouble and you will not get a contact fone no. for anyone. we could only get 1 key on check in.
Rooms were nice and clean and not too small. We even had little chocolates on our pillows when we arrived! It was a very nice hotel in a good location. Would stay there again. Pillows were really thin.
view from the window and nice staff, excellent bearkfast a bit easier access
Good location and views, overlooking the town. Hard to find from the town without satnav. Rooms are tired, 70's style. Breakfast was 9 euro extra and only a small buffet. Only one member of staff running the whole place at any one time.
Very, very nice location with beautiful view at the Heidelberg. Not really,
Beautiful spot above Heidelberg Castle. Great staff. Doesn't have internet access in the room or main area
The staff is helpful and kind. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the presence of the bottle of water in the room.
Nice place, Wifi free of charge The shower was old, no hair-dryer, no soap. I had ask for a room with Wifi, I didn't had -> I had to change the room
The room was a very good size and clean. There was no information pack, no complimentary toiletries, no extra blankets, no evening bar service
It was quiet and the sunset from the terrace was lovely. There is no view of the castle. The rooms are very shabby and having seen 4 rooms before settling all had broken equipment.
The location near Heidelberg Castle.
beautiful view, comfortable, right above the Schloß without a car, this is a difficult place to reach, one can take the Bergbahn, but that only goes until about 4:45pm, Taxi is possible, but of course you have to pay. Unless you want to spend the whole evening indoors, you either need to walk 30 min on the steep road or call a Taxi.
My unexpectedly early check in was accomodated nicely Nothing. Everything was okay.
Great location, whole new object.
Location close to city center easy access from autobahn The lack of onsite parking is a severe handicap not helped by confusingly signed public parking
