Great location. Staff was friendly. Room was clean, comfortable and we had a great harbor view. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Parking was $25 a night which seems high, especially in April.
The front desk staff gave us excellent suggestions for meals and directions how to get somewhere. Everyone in the hotel was friendly. It was a great location and we could walk almost everywhere.
Although I had paid through kayak before we arrived the hotel charged my credit card for the room. It took days and a number of phone calls to finally get the hotel to remove the charge. It may just be easier to just book through hotel.
The matress and cleanliness of entire hotel. Other than the hold you put on my card... Loved everything
Can walk to anywhere, great location Extra charge for parking
Front desk staff very helpful. Air conditioner was not working our first night they immediately sent someone up to take a look at it. He thought he had it fixed but that was not the case. We reported this to the front desk and they had the unit replaced the next day. Bar area downstairs is a great place to relax. Can't wait until the new restaurant opens. Beds/ pillows not that comfortable. Rooms could use some updating.
Loved the location right on the harbor walking distance to all the shops, cafes, bars...less than 20min. Drive to beavertail lighthouse, beautiful ocean view at the ocean drive historical center, Fort Adams, windmill hill We payed $25 dollars a day to park at the Newport Harbor hotel.....
Had to call maintance 3 times. For the price of the room that was three times too many. The do a lot of chasing/ holds on bank account that takes days to fall off. Great location. Beautiful water view if the bird droppings had not been on window. Too expensive to have had all the issues
Its location is awesome. Everything is within the walking distance Parking fee was charged upon check-out without explanation at check-in
Location was excellent. Enjoyed sitting out back at sunset. Easily walk around Newport from the Hotel. Front Desk Hospitality was great. Furnishings are fine. Nothing special. Clean.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Great location on America's Cup Ave. withing walking distance to almost everything. Pretty views of the marina out back. First floor rooms are great because you can sit outside your room and relax or play with kids.
location is right on the island after the bridge room is so perfect ie clean, spectacular view from window great buffet breakfast ie smoke salmon, omelet, fruit, juice great walking area right on the front harbor nice exercise and pool room a little noisy perhaps due to many people parking fee check in time is 3p, too late, check out time is 11a, too early
The location of the hotel is excellent, being on Goat Island in the center of Newport. Breakfast buffet was good. Breakfast servers were on the ball. The valet service was quick and professional. Close to everything. It took 3.5 hrs to have our room ready (oceanfront king). That is a long wait with a 5 year-old. We were originally booked at the Newport Marina because of their saltwater pool, but upon arrival it was closed for a few days so we booked a room at the Hyatt through the Kayak app (because of the pool). So after the long wait to get our room (not ready until 7:30pm, it was too late to take the family to dinner downtown after we got situated), I asked if they'd cover dinner and they agreed to comp room service. There is a $5 charge every time you have your car brought up from valet. Didn't know that. Also, there is a daily $20 "resort-fee" not included in the quoted price. I asked what it was for and was told that it was for the pool and WIFI. Outdoor pool closed, as is the Pineapple restaurant that is advertised. We swam in the pool once because it was so cold (as a pool owner i'd guess it was about 72F-ish), a bit too cold to hang around much in, plus the pool room itself was pretty cold too. Our room was pretty drafty as well (very windy and cold outside). Expect to get sprayed by the shower when you turn it on since you have to be inside the shower to reach the handle. Also, only one towel hook in the bathroom was not good when there are 3 people staying.
Staff very helpful and friendly Price is outrageous for quality of hotel. Ripped cushions on outdoor patio
when I arrived only one room was reserved rather than the two I had scheduled through Hotels.Com. This mixup was corrected but this kind of error should not happen. Correct information was not transferred accurately. This is quite discouraging for an online reservation system. Got the stay off to a poor start.
We were on the ground floor stuck in a corner down some stairs with an outside exit right outside our room door and the hinge was loose on the door and it banged closed every time some used the door.
Staff Problems with rooms and cleanliness... Also $20 service fee per a night non-negotiable
Room and breakfast buffet Room with no window
Location was fantastic and the shuttle to the shops and restaurants was great. Staff wasn't helpful, genuine, or friendly - unaccomodating and not knowledgable.
Clean Great location On way down called for early check - told no before ever learned what time we were arriving - very rude Toilet flush one time then not again No water then no hot water 4am fire alarm Had to cancel my appointment due to no shower Waste of time and money
Restaurant /bar onsite Called on phone prior ro make sure had hot tub and hot tub open..don't have one. $20 "resort" fee charged per night (for having an indoor pooll???) , possible see reason for charge IN season (outdoor pool erc) but OFF season (hotel did waive fee after we complained ) Room awkward...not cozy or homeyphome In general just disappointed with stay and hotel
We stayed for one night the room was very clean, the bathroom was beautiful, and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The street noise outside of our room woke us fairly early in the morning, the breakfast at hotel restaurant was overpriced and sub par
The staff was amazing!!! Joe carried my bags to my room and could not have been more of a pleasure to talk with. I was heading into town for a girls night out and instead of calling me a cab the hotel drove me to my destination! It made my whole night much more relaxing and stress free. Also, the pillows were insanely comfortable. When I checked out I immediately went and bought all new pillows for my bed at home. I was so inspired by my wonderful night's sleep...
Location was great, close to shopping and Downtown. Requested a king size bed, but got a queen sized bed. There were only 2 queen rooms, and we got one b/c of our length of stay?? Sink did not drain the first day, but was fixed. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom, had to use the hairdryer out in the bedroom, but had to plug it in under the desk, so I was not able to stand and dry my hair. Wallpaper in the bathroom was lifting. The bed was not comfortable. Advertised that there were pillow top mattresses, ours was definitely not a pillow top and it was quite flat. There was no refrigerator in the room, coffee maker was old and outdated. I have been in far cheaper rooms that provided a keurig and nicer coffee provisions. Powdered creamer in a packet was gross. Overall, it was fairly disappointing for the $500.00 per night rate.
This is a lovely hotel in the middle of a historic district with an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We had a great time in Newport.
Beautiful suite with a walk-in shower and bear-clawed tub, nice views and a friendly, professional staff. Not replacing the in-room coffee and the $35 a day valet parking are little things that irritate.
Excellent location near action in Newport. Pleasant old hotel ambiance, though most of hotel is 1960's construction, well disguised behind original hotel facade. Parking fee extreme ($35 per day about 25% of room rate). Tub in room was nasty, no one would consider soaking in it, ok for shower. Wall behind tile in shower clearly water damaged with tile buckling and uneven with stained grout. No doubt hiding serious mold problem behind tile. Not so serious that I thought I needed flip flops for shower, but clearly showing neglect.
It was just exceptional. Never experienced so many happy, helpful employees, especially the valets, they were wonderful. I will certainly be returning, and I would have paid 3x what I did without complaint. Nothing - not a single complaint. Maybe a small free breakfast, but that's just trying to think of something!
I stayed here in November when rates are certainly lower. Hotel was excellent value, great service, good food, very nice facility. The hidden fees for parking and "resort fee" are a bit annoying.
I thought the staff was very friendly. There was an upbeat vibe in lobby. The location was great. Easy to walk everywhere from the hotel. Didn't like that I had to valet park my car. My final bill was $130 more than I agreed to because of extra fees. There was an extra resort fee and the parking was expensive. Mattress was very old and uncomfortable.
All the extra charges. There is an extra $35 nite fee for parking. That should be included for people who stay.
Very close/walkable to all. Hidden costs - parking, facilities.... Its an additional $15 a day for each. This is not clear in the post.
Great location and luxury appeal. Seems that the luxury only goes to the higher end rooms and more public places. The public bathroom in the hotel was 3 times more amazing than the one in our room.
Great hotel. Great location.
Loved the location. On the water and walking distance to everything in newport. Good hotel to stay at with teenagers but truly just an average and little worn marriott on inside. Felt very 1980s needs lobby re do. Hotel front desk seemed overwhelmed and a bit immature. Made promises could not and did not keep. Conceriege lounge was average -- staff not very attentive in there. Food and liquor would run out and go unnoticed by staff. Also had an odd smell.
Bedding very comfortable, nice pillows, and a clean room. Broken Toilet, when we called downstairs to let them know, got the impression they already knew there was an issue. They did send someone right away, but wish it was taken care of before getting to our room. That night after returning from dinner 9 p.m. the guest in the next room BANGED AND SHOUTED for us to be quiet - we were laughing - no TV on no music on just enjoying our view and relaxing - did NOT feel comfortable at this persons Anger! We were able to change rooms but at the front desk did get a little push back on - if they could get us a room with a view...I told them we were not loud and that HE was the problem she then stated ours was the second complaint from him - regarding a different guest...and she said how they had plans in the work to fix the soundproofing issues with the whole complex. Following night after dinner we returned and decided to go to the bar for a nightcap we got a high top table but went over to the bartender to place our drink order she seemed put out definitely not pleasant.
The location is excellent. Parking is close and rather inexpensive. The staff was very nice as was the room. Our room, 4 flights up wouldn't work for some.
The location is great. Close to downtown activities. Facility is dated, but it has its charm.
Location and staff, the english breakfast was so nice. Again, the location is awesome. Rooms are very roomy, and most important, they are clean. No elevator but even that wasn't THAT bad. The price was high for the Inn. But it served us well and we moved on.
The location in the attraction/shopping part of Newport. Lack of parking.
Its location near on Thames St is its best feature, The room was certainly not"deluxe". It had a small double bed and for two people this was not so comfortable. Small bathroom with handbasin in the main room. The room was ground level with windows to a lane outside and passers by could look straight in.
The location was very central to the main activities of Newport. It was too expensive, with extra charges for parking and a 3rd bed, which was not comfortable and for whom there was no towels or other amenities. The staff interaction was virtually non-exestent, on either check-in or breakfast.
The location Very aged and no updates that we could see, small and the staff wasn't very friendly.
Location,Staff,Breakfast No TV in room, Not there for TV however iti is helpfull to keep up on things and help sleep.
Great complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea; cozy traditional decor; helpful and responsive staff Thin walls and windows make the rooms noisy; TV is very small
The location of this hotel was fantastic. We could walk to restaurants. The visitors center was close so that you could get both the local bus and the siggtseeing ones. The room was large and comfortable (refrigerator in room). Daily breakfast and afternoon tea were great - many choices. No elevator
The daily breakfast is a very nice spread and the hotel is right in the middle of an area with tons of restaurants, shops and bars which was awesome. They also have a nice roof deck of you want to get away from the crowds for a bit. For the price, I think this was a very good deal. We're used to staying in hotels instead of inns, so the stairs were a bit of a surprise. Also, it would have been nice if we could have opened the windows as there was such a beautiful breeze, however the ac unit did work very well.
The Inn was a great value. It is in the heart of downtown, right on the Main Street. You have access to the waterfront, shopping, restraraunts and bars. The city itself is just quaint. They serve high tea and desserts. It was so wonderful to have a snack available. Breakfast is included as well, and the selection was wonderful. I had read some other reviews as they mention the decor is outdated. I think they are going for that historical feel. It is not a modern hotel. For the money, plus all the add ons and location, you will not find a better value.
The location was very good The facility was down on the heel, dated, with minimal maintainance. The room was very small, with pealing paint and tape holding the insulation around the window. The yard was a mess and it just appeared that the proprietors did not care or take pride in their building/inn.
The room was very clean and comfortable. It was well decorated. It even had a binder full of handy information about the town, including the innkeepers phone numbers. The breakfast was delicious, something different every time. The innkeepers Michael and Heather gave a sense of warmth and friendliness to the place.
We've stayed here before, love it's central location and clean friendly facilities. As for your service, they did not have our reservations when we arrived. Luckily they had a room available. Not happy when we did not have reservations we requested through your service.
The Mill Street Inn was fabulous - everything we could have asked for and more.
We liked the hotel's contemporary design, great rooftop, healthy and delicious continental breakfast, quiet and adult vibe, friendly staff, on-site parking and close location to downtown Newport. No elevators, awkward shower design, furnishings in living room were a little tired, motor on refrigerator was loud.
The location is just great. The suites are spacious, and the idea of marrying modern designs with a historical building makes this hotel very charming. I know hotels are generally trying to be more mindful about the environment by reducing the frequency to change towels, bed sheets, etc. However, we accidentally stained the bed sheets on the first night of the stay. Instead of changing the sheets, the house keeping staff simply ignored the stains and made the bed as if nothing was there. It made our 2nd night of stay pretty uncomfortable.
Bed was extremely comfortable and they had a great continental breakfast! seemed like they were a bit understaffed
Excellent. Accommodation comfortable in a very pleasant Inn. Very personable staff, and Mark makes an excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended. Nothing to do with the MArshall Slocum Inn, but if visiting Newport, beware parking restrictions ( I didn't !!!)
Beutiful historic house in a quiet road just a short walk from all sea front and harbour.Mark was an excellent host.Breakfast was cooked freshly for each guest by Mark who took time to answer questions and give directions and vadvice on a variety of questions.Thank You All at Marshall Slocum
Excellent location, lovely period detached building with free parking. Walking distance to all attractions. Nice comfortable bed and crisp linens. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor near the communal breakfast area. Breakfast starts at 7.30 pm and can be quite noisy - impossible to sleep late if in these rooms! Also the wooden floors in the room above our room meant lots of noisy footsteps. It would have been nice to have two chairs in our room rather than just one as the bed was too high too sit on.
The style, comfort and relaxing atmosphere afforded an ideal opportunity to recharge our batteries. Breakfast was amazing!
Everything is perfect here.
The location is ideal, just a short walk into the downtown and harbor area, and right off Bellevue Ave. The Inn is charming and comfortable, and the host and hostess, as well as the staff, are friendly and very helpful. The room was immaculate, and the breakfast, on the deck, was delicious. We can't wait to come back! My husband would have liked a television in the room, but I know bed & breakfasts usually do not have them.
the Inn staff greeted us at the door and showed us to our room on the top floor. It was a quaint room with a nice clean bathroom and an armoir for hanging up clothes. There were three rooms on the top floor and all reserved. We missed breakfast due to an early start but the menu looked delicious!
There was a jacuzzi tub in our room. There was a nice sitting area next to the bed with a nice window to look out of, however my husband didn't want to sit in them because he thought he might break them. We were able to eat breakfast outside on a deck. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. I liked the checkout time and the times available for breakfast. There was no meat with the breakfast. There was no TV in the room. The bathroom was tiny. The room had a high bed and I needed to use the step stool to get in it.
the personal service and small number of rooms (5)
nice accomodations, gracious hostess, great location
Location was very nice The building is older so you hear lots of little noises
Excellent location and value for the area. Very clean and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. Nothing.
Awesome location, excellent value (for the time of year), very friendly staff, cute and cozy room
Great location for "foot" touring! Staff very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping leaves much to be desired!
Great location, very pleasant staff, wonderful view, very nice rooms
The suites were absolutely beautiful, very tastefully decorated and I just didn't want to get out of the bed it was so comfortable! The lobby is very utilitarian and does not relfect the high standard of the rooms. It could put off walk-ins from staying there, which would be a shame.
Nice room no
The rooms were very very comfortable with an excellent view of the bay. The location was ideal and the staff were very friendly. There was unlimited use of the dining/common room with coffee and tea through the day. Would definately recommend this hotel. Breakfast was ordinary, but the location/staff/comfort made up for it.
Authtentic atmosphere ,large rooms more like suites, breakfast area with splendid views over the harbour. Nice crew and location spot on.Place to return.
The innkeepers were very hospitable and really offered a wealth of information on Newport, things to see and do, and so on. They really went out of their way to make sure we were at our most comfortable, providing a lovely breakfast every morning and tea every afternoon. The rooms themselves were great, the beds were comfortable and the space was cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden and patio areas. It really was a lovely experience overall and certainly was a great value.
Beautiful bed and breakfast with excellent facilities in the room and a good breakfast buffet plus helpful staff with good local knowledge.
Very comfortable, affordable and great staff. Parking
The Innkeeper, Cindy, was very accomodating and created a great breakfast.
Lovely place to stay, very clean, warm and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and baked goodies.
Good atmosphere with friendly staff No choice of entree for breakfast
Good access to downtown Newport. The breakfast was good. Parking available. It was loud. Other guests made it hard to sleep. We could also hear people talking out on the street late at night.
The staff was awesome and attentive to any need whatsoever. French toast was awesome. We upgraded to a king room. Queen was a little small, still good but tight fit.
Great location, very nicely appointed common areas
Great location. Enjoyed the visits with proprietors. They were helpful with local information and very accommodating.
The Inn was very clean, everything in the room worked fine. Towels were very plush, bed linens fine, clean and fresh. The Innkeepers were very hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast terrific. 3rd floor deck overlooking Newport wonderful.
Location, breakfast They placed us in a room at the top of the stairs on the second floor. We could hear everything! I had called when I booked the room and asked for a quite ,private room and they told me all the rooms were the same. Well, that night, we heard everything from people coming up the stairs, closing their doors, flushing toilet in the room above us and footstpes above. In the morning it was the shower... I was just upset that they told us all the rooms were the same because I dont bellieve them. The rooms on the third floor , I am positive, were not as noisy. I did not complain in the morning because but I should have.there were so many quests eating breakfast,i did not want to make a scene
Bed was comfortable Breakfast was inadequate room had no insulation so you heard talking from the next room like they were next to you
The breakfast was fantastic!
This is a nice hotel, well situated to visit the city. The staff is friendly and breakfast is good. The only flaw might be the price, but probably it is difficult to find something cheaper in Newport
Great location to base yourself to checkout all Newport has to offer, which is a lot. Being able to park the car so close to the center of Newport is another big bonus. Great place to stay.
The innkeepers were helpful. The breakfast was very good. The location was great and it was great to have free parking on the hotels site. Also we had a very good rate compared to other places. The lock on our room needed to be replaced, and I know that the staff was aware of that. The bed in our room was really hard, not the most confortable.
I just loved the room and the location of the Inn, my husband and I could walk to everything. The service was impeccable. Staff most accommodating and very helpful. We were in Newport for a wedding and the Inn was perfect. And the breakfast was very good and served in the lobby which reminded me of a coffe house in Vienna, Austria.
The room was decorated very charming and comfortable. The location was equidistance from the beach and the harbour. The breakfast was lovely. It was facing the back of Shop and Stop and The Tennis Hall of Fame. Not the best view and you heard tennis playing from the window. But they had a charming garden in the back
Good location in Newport, easy parking, nice staff (breakfast). Big security issue: rooms have been opened during dinner time, personal and hotel goods have been stolen. No personal support by Inn when filing the incidence and no goodwill from the management afterwards. Ambiguous if the rooms are safe now (all locks have to be exchanged). Rooms are extremely noisy (no protection against external noise), bathroom not very clean (old hairs, clogged basin), damaged installations (fan in the bathroom).
Great breakfast, good location, very nice staff, parking included.
Wonderful character - ful inn with great staff. Extras included wine and cheese in the early evening - a real treat nothing negative to stay
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff.
Clean room, quiet area.
The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast was also pretty good. The en-suite was tiny in relation to the size of the room, the shower had nowhere to put the soap or shampoo which was a bit of a nuisance, but one does not spend 24/7 in the shower room......
Charming quiet rooms & great location, 200m from great restaurants/bars. Staff very helpful.
The location is good to reach centre of Newport for Restaurants and bars. Size of the room is very small. A musty smell of the place (in September). The staff was not friendly, just businesslike.
Everyone was very nice. Just attentive enough. The location was amazing; short walk to all of downtown. No two rooms are alike. So gorgeous. Free, convenient parking! Very familiar, comfortable atmosphere.
the hotel was near all the facilities . I would have prefered a room in the main house but the room i was allocated was nontheless clean and comfortable.
Friendliness Parking, happy hour wine Very tired looking and extremely noisy room due to some pump
Was a great location, parked the car when we arrived on Saturday, spent 2 nights and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Newport.
Charming, lovely, friendly, comfortable, well-located Not a thing. Everything was delightful.
Marise, the inn keeper, is awesome!:) Beautiful old home, very clean, nice interior design, upscale personal care products, home baked goodies and excellent bfast. I will be back:)
Innkeeper, character, location, and cleanliness. Not really.
The uniqueness of the Jailhouse Inn. Nice touch with the cell doors in the hallway. Very friendly and helpful at the front desk.
Very convenient location with excellent friendly staff. During a two week tour of New England and Canada it was the most comfortable hotel we stayed in. We will strongly recommend The Jailhouse Inn to others in Old England! Nothing, we liked it all
Very clean , adequate breakfast , god location for walking Newport.
Excellent location, easy parking, spacious and clean room with a simple decor. Good variety at breakfast and nice staff. Overall very positive experience!
very special hotel. nice staff. clean and nicely located in new port
Fantastic location probably the best hotel in Newport, very conveinet for town centure, tourist sites, bars. Decent sized car park, nice good sized rooms, good amentities, decent breakfast.
It previously housing the police dept/jail, made the surroundings more interesting and unique....the international buffet bkft offered many choices Room was noisy in the am, since the window was right on the front porch where people congregated, laughing etc....a/c did not work properly and did not cool the room, even with front desk clerk checking it
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Great value for money with free parking and breakfast too. Perfect location, close to shopping, dining and attractions.
location bed a little too hard
The Jailhouse Staff were exceptional. The Hotel is ideally situated; it is welcoming, warm and very comfortable - I highly recommend this Hotel. when I return to Newport my first port-of-call will be the Jailhouse. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the premises; it has an intriguing history, which is interesting and still very much alive; however the standard of the accommodation is by no means compromised and the staff offer a five star service. Congratulations to all !
Host and staff very nice, breakfast was good and hotel was quiet We found that the photo's on the internet were not representative of the rooms. In reality, rooms were all very small
very private, clean, friendly and good breakfast
Nice breakfast. The quality of the rooms vary greatly. One of the rooms we rented was very shabby and dirty with a couch that should have been replaced 15 years ago and a bed that was falling apart. The cleaning could have been a lot better too.
Received an upgrade to a King size bed. Great location, convenient to Thames Street and wharf activities. The carpet was filthy. Could use a simple steam cleaning.
Great location-close to shopping, wharf, etc Mildew around the tub-owner needs to re-caulk. Could use extra pillows and blankets. No drinking glasses in room. No coffee before 8am! Great location but rooms could use some updating. Lot of $$ for a small room.
superb, restful No
Another excellent Inn in Newport which oozes the history of the ancient tradesmen and merchants
Frindly staff, good downtown location, good breakfast. A little pricy.
The innkeeper went out and bought yogurt just for me when I mentioned that was what I usually ate for breakfast Although clean the condition of the room was a bit run down.
The breakfast made to order in the morning was delicious! I did not like how thin the walls were. Felt like everyone could hear our business (talking, watching TV etc.)
Quickly and amicably resolved the Qeen size issue and put us in a King. Room and breakfast very nice. Enjoyed our stay. Originally booked as a King, but was placed in a Queen. However this was resolved.
Comfortable location in Downtown Newport Slightly frayed around the edges
The room was clean and bed was confortable. The breakfast was delicious! We stayed on the second floor...wished there was an elevator in the building.
The manager was so nice and helpful. We had great conversations. The room was cozy and warm. The decor was lovely. The location was fantastic. the rooms were small. it would have been nice to have had a door to close in the dining area for privacy.
The B&B was really nice and a great value for the money. The breakfast was made to order, pancakes, eggs, toast, meat, fruit. Amazing. You can smell it when you wake up. Thames street is right there so it's super convinient. All around I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tastefully decorated rooms. Location was ideal - walking distance to town and the waterfront.
Cozy & comfortable room, friendly & helpful staff, perfect location to walk everywhere
The Inn attendant that greeted us upon arrival was very helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit. I also loved the warm pastries and creamy yogurt that we received promptly at 8 am every morning. We loved that the inn was in a very central location. I liked everything about this inn.
Location. Bathroom poorly equipped. Air conditioner noisy. Bedside lamp 20 watts. Small thin towels
They have a fabulous restaurant attached to it but you must make a reservation in advance.
the location is fantastic and they have parking. also, the complimentary pastries in the morning are to die for. for the price of the room per night and the stars this hotel has, I was surprised by the condition of the room. the rug was ripped and frayed, the bathtub/shower felt unclean, and the staff could have been more polite.
Hotel Employee who checked us in was lovely and gave us great info on what to see in Newport as well as a map. Be prepared that the pub next door doesn't close till 1am. Their patio was full of happy young adults! The air conditioning unit was able to muffle most of the noise but we aware that this noise might affect your stay.
The room was very clean, tastefully decorated, had great amenities (stove, fridge, microwave), and was perfectly located. Very tasty breakfast yogurt parfait and pastries. Quiet even in downtown area. hard to know where to park at first, but they do give you directions.
They were friendly. Brought you breakfast in the morning
The staff were friendly and welcoming and the owners, the location was perfect and the overall experience was more then we expected! Food was excellent! No
The location was convenient yet quiet for sleeping at night. The staff was attentive and helpful. The room was in a separate small building rather than the main building next to the parking lot so less curb appeal. Even though they supplied a special made yogurt and fruit pastry in the morning, there is no place to eat it. The room only has a tiny nook. I suggest that the hotel use one of its dining rooms for guests to eat in breakfast or the outdoor dining area.
We stayed in one of the inn's newest rooms (they've recently expanded), and our room was beautiful & spacious. The building is brand new to the inn, but everything ran like clockwork. Check in was handled somewhat awkwardly in the entry to the restaurant. Otherwise, it was a great experience!
The staff was amazingly friendly and willing to help. The room was huge, clean, and welcoming. Free breakfast was provided every morning, without waking us up. Nope.
location - near water -- accessible to restaurants/bars. could walk anywhere. near a great coffee spot 'Alix' room was nice, but a little on the pricey side for what it was.
