superb location. 1st class service by all of the staff. good value for money.
The hotel was within walking distance (4omins) of Twickenham Rugby stadium which is where we wanted to be. Due to the wrong booking (family rooms cannot have an extra bed), the staff were keen to find us accommodation in another room. Hotel in pleasant enough area, basic and clean. We booked a family room and asked for an extra bed in the comments part of the booking (for 4 of us) - the website showed all rooms could be booked with 1 extra bed added. However this is not the case - family rooms for 3 cannot have an extra bed added. Fortunately there was a room free on the ground floor (with bathroom facilities for disabled) which they gave us. This had 1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed. Unfortunately, no heating so room was quite cool.
Staff very professional, polite, helpful at all times. Standard of cleanliness of hotel and rooms excellent. The whole 'ambiance' of the hotel was wonderful! No bad points!
Rooms excellent, Parking expensive @ £15pn and not mentioned on the Internet. Breakfast n£10 also expensive. Many hotel fail to offer a quick start breakfast like you would have at home - Toast and go. Many travellers don't want a large English especially by the end of the week. Perhaps worthy of consideration
The conditions of room and toilet are good. Really close to Tube station Free Internet in the room but the given password not work Fire alarm "falsely" rang in early morning
friendly, helpful staff poor bar/restaraunt. Beds very soft/uncomfortable
Fantastic room good hotel all that you could need. Pre Charge of Credit card no receipt offered or given Front rooms in the hotel could be noisy from street side.
Enjoyed the bar very much. The rooms are superb. The staff excellent.Great value for money.
The rooms although small were very clean, comfortable and convenient. My request for a room change from the noisy front to the quiet rear was quickly dealt with. All staff were courteous, polite and helpful Very noisy at the front, (quiet and peaceful facing the rear)
The staff hardly spoke any english, this must be improved
Friendly receptionist Rooms were very small for the price
The shower was excellent, there's nothing worse than a shower with no water pressure...But at first glance I thought the bathroom facilities were extremely compact, infact the whole room was compact..... But never the less the room suited my needs, it was comfortable and clean, the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. I will be returning!
We stayed here to watch a rugby game at Twickenham. It was a nice walk (just under 2 miles) so very handy. Very clean and new. The smallest en-suite I have ever seen - we had to keep the door open when using the toilet! Lots of traffic noise (cars and aeroplanes) with windows open.
reasonable price The bathroom is ridiculously small. I am 5 feet 2 inches tall and I could barely close the bathroom door when sitting on the toilet. Anyone taller would have to leave it open as it would hit their knees!
Good hotel for a good price! Ideal for Twickenham rugby....can walk to the ground no worries!
good location for the twickeham stadium or heathrow airport , the staff were exellent and the price represented excellent value for money
Staff were very helpful Next to road, take away and curry house.....not the best nights sleep!
Good location for access to twickenham stadium and central London Room was very hot but couldn't sleep with window open because of outside noise
Location, lounge 1.the hotel could not find my kayak reservation so I am Not sure that I paid the kayak rate, in fact there is a good chance but I was charged twice and I'll have to find some way to reconcile this. For some reason the kayak reservations were not acceptable for their confirmation numbering system, the staff acted like they never seen a kayak reservation. 2.none of the hotel had internet access whatsoever it was down all night. Only one staff was manning the concierge desk and with the internet down the line was very long, yet it seems like the staff didn't put 2&2 together....perhaps you should increase the number of people at the concierge desk when the internet is down. At times the concierge would just just disappear I think probably hoping people would just disappear as well. Myself and another guest helped ourselves to the concierge desk computer print out our boarding passes for flights. 3. the entire hotel smelled like smoke despite the non smoking room. 4. the television didn't work in the hotel room and looked quite dated even at the kayak rated this hotel is not worth the money
Big lounge, helpful front desk service. Discounted pricing relative to other hotels in the area. Outside decor and current renovations give very poor first impressions. Room was typ Marriott-type accommodations. I'd recommend spending the extra $10+ to stay elsewhere if possible, but would consider again at same price range when renovations are complete.
Staff attention to detail, quality of room and location
Location This hotel is old and not very clean. I am surprised that Marriott has let this hotel go this far in dis-repair. Not worth 200 USD a night.
What a great location. As a weary traveler it's nice when everything goes smoothly. Staff was very accommodating .
Room is Comfortable and modern. Lobby and pub/bar very spacious and comfortable. Endless corridors and small rooms for such a huge hotel.
Location Service in the restaurant was very efficient and friendly We were not informed that the hotel is going through a TOTAL renovation. We were initially placed in a recently finished room. After a real ordeal to get there, we found out that our room reeked of chemicals (gave us a headache within 5 minutes and watery eyes), still had some construction debris and the bathroom door handle was not installed. Had to carry all our luggage back and had to be moved to a different room.
Comfortable room and fast internet and ease of taking the public bus system 5 minutes to the terminal cannot be beat. Hair in the bathroom and in the tea cup suggested it did not get cleaned well, and about a 45" wait to get checked in made the stay less than ideal. Both are probably one-off issues though based upon reviews available.
Close to airport, clean and upgraded rooms. Dinner was very good and the breakfast buffet was great.
Location State of repair/decor. Food---terrible !!! Seemed cheap for a Marriott --now understand why.
Proximity to airport Ability to earn Marriott points The hotel was old and in desperate need of an update.
I think it's an average hotel i would rate it at 3 *** not 4. A/C are not working properly. As stated above A/C is not working.
The location The bathroom is very poor and wifi
The Hotel staff was very sweet and ready to help us if we need anything
There is absolutely nothing that we liked during our stay in this hotel It was dirty and uncomfortable. It certainly doesnt warrant 4 stars , a premier inn is better
location is close to work in Hounslow
room was fine staff excellent booked because of beauty treatments etc, not available, lift not working, impossible to read temperature on air con, lighting in bathroom very poor
the location was excellent near to trains buses and shopping everything was fine
Very close to tube station...
Lovely rooms very modern A bit difficult to find. Car park expensive
as i said, very clean facilities and nice decoration of the room everything is non-smoking
Ironing board collapsed when used, requested a replacement, never appeared. Sink sprayed water all over the bathroom when turned on Restaurant had a secret menu which you had to ask for but how could you when they kept it secret??????????
Really stylish and contemporary. A touch classier than more expensive accommodation. Great facilities. Friendly efficient staff. Fantastic value for money.
This is boutique quality hotel with new amenities, at an amazingly low price. They do this, by offering small, but very nice, rooms with single beds. Its about a 10-12 min walk from the Hounslow East Metro station (4 stops from Heathrow), which isn't actually that bad. Fare is 1.5£, taxi is 20£ or so. (Turn right when you exit Hounslow East.)
Checkin was quick. Food at the bar was good (see also what I did not like) I picked the hotel because of the name, I stayed in excellent Jury's Inss before, also because it was (said to be) close to the underground & heathrow, Only at the exit there was no indication where the hotel was located, and the hotel was not visible. So I had to ask around, before finding the hotel. It was a bit farther away than described. At check-in they told me the restaurant would be open until 22h30, and gave me a key-card for my room that did not work. When coming back down to the restaurant I was told it closed early, so I had to go to the (overflowing) bar, and had to wait to get a seat. My room was close the the elevators, and poorly insulated, and I heard the elevators moving up and down, and stopping at my floor all night.
location for airport
The convenient possision, the room was very quiet, no airport noice. The bar area not very acceptable for eating a light meal
My wife needed to see a GP and they quickly called one out for us. They were very helpful.
Very convenient, great location to airport
friendly staff, convenient location
More for convenience,as I have to catch early flight. Proximity to the tube is the other plus points. none
The Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food is great at reasonable prices, everything looks smart and well organised. it is right next to the tube station which was convenient. The rates are low and you get much more than you expected for this sort of price. the breakfast was great and plenty of choice. Basically I would use this hotel again if I am in the area – very pleasant stay.
Brand new, lovely hotel and a superb Garden Inn. Comfortable and crispy clean. Nice staff at the bar and check in. Easy access from Hatton Cross Tube stop. Read a review that transportation was bad and have to agree. Expensive at GBP 4:50 each. Worse yet was the SURLY, RUDE, UNHELPFUL CRETIN that drove the bus. Awful.
Location The hotel was very noisy and the housekeeping staff kept slamming doors keeping us up. In addition we asked a server about the menu and she rudely told us to ask someone else and walked off.
It was just what we needed after a long flight, clean, spacious, modern and comfortable.
The bed was inviting and clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was lovely! I didn't have a computer with me so was grateful I could come in free of charge to write an email. There was nothing I didn't like.
Pubs and town centre close to hotel. Also twenty minutes walk to twickenham stadium which is why i was there.
Hotel was clean, staff friendly and reasonably priced The breakfast time was too early, had to be completed by 9:15 on Sat and Sun and as a result we never made it, however 10am would have been fairer.
The hotel was pretty much as described ... but the decision to overnight in Hounslow Central was not such a good one.
Helpful staff Quite noisy. Many stairs - no lift
Close proximatey to Twickenham the massive stains on the carpet and the big black filthy cobwebs in the room
I stayed in the shalimar for 2 day and must say it was a great value for money. The staff there were very nice and very helpfull. The room was nice and clean and good to sleep in. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good aswell. I will definetly stay in this hotel again when I go to london and recommend it to anyone who is travelling their. There is also a great pub 1min up the road called "The Duke" which is a great place to have a few drinks at night.
It was good value. The location was perfect for our visit. During the evening I went to reception to ask a question. I rang the bell many, many times. No-one came!!! It was only 9:30pm. Where were the staff?
free parking and good people breakfast, phone was not working
The stay was part of a business trip, a one night stay in the hotel is probably all you would want.
The man in the reception areas was very helpful. It is bare bones, but O.K.
It was adequate for the price in London, but expensive by comparison with prices elsewhere in the country. I do appreciate, though, that, because of its location, the business has considerable overheads. The only cooked breakfast the chef seemed to understand was "Fried egg, toast, beans". I asked for scrambled eggs - he fried them!!
location near underground station and heathrow - relatively quiet room was a bit shabby - needed updating
Single room was warm [very cold weather] and clean with ensuite shower room. Full English breakfast included in price was cooked to order. Staff were on reception all day and evening. Close to local shops andPiccadilly line station for Heathrow and Central London. Good value
Close to the underground The room was very small - not even enough room for two people to stand on two sides of the bed. The walls were dirty as was the shower, which drained very slowly. The whole room could have used a good scrubbing!
very comfortable the breakfast could have been a little more generous, but then again i was with my 18 yr son and we both have good appetites.
Good value for money and very good location. Like 1min walk if that from tube station. Staff very nice and helpful. Gave us advice and a reliable taxi number as we were going to be out late at night. Also very nice touch by giving us a map to twickenham. They were prepared with events going on instead of some places that act like they have blinkers on I didn't like the notice on our door. It said. For your safety please ensure that this door is lock at all times. Especially before going to sleep. Thank you. That last bit freaked me and and made me very uncomfortable. I think you should leave it as please keep door locked. Also. We had book 2 single beds and there were 3. It look up unwanted space.
The hotel offered very good value for money; I wasn't expecting anything flash - just a bed and shower as I overnighted before flying from Heathrow. It offered just that. The breakfast room downstairs was pretty spartan.
The Lampton was convenient for Hounslow town centre and Twickenham rugby stadium and was a cosy, good value stop over.
very good value for money, free parking breakfast in teh morning and room whilst small was perfectly adequate, clean and the bed was comfortable. As a 1 or 2 night stop over place at a budget price i would strongly recomend it, ideal for trip to twickenham.
It's proximity to the event that we were in London for (Philippine Barrio Fiesta, Lampton Park, Hounslow ) was excellent .... just across the road. Couldn't have got any closer ! Our ground floor room was next to a car park, easily accessible to anyone passing. Could not, therefore, leave the window open (for fresh air) when we went out, or overnight as we slept.
close to the tube well when u book online they show a different cost and when u go there they tell u in addition to the room if u want the bathroom with that you have to pay additional 5 pounds
Handy for the shops and our family. The decor needs attention especially the en-suite shower room
That it was near to where I needed to be The smell in the corridor , the damp patch on ceiling in dining room and the office desk being in the dining room .
Ideally placed for bus stop to Twickenham. it was just outside the door, and a regular service guest house is very tired and could do with redecorating and double glazed windows, the rooms at the front were very noisy. Went for breakfast and were told they had run out of bacon only half way through the breakfast period.
some other guests that the man insisted to charge for 3 following nights, so I could not change the hotel the third night.
The cold tap ran all night and was not repaired despite reporting it. The water behind my daughter's bed ran with water after heavy rain fell. One of the beds smelled of urine, fortunately there were 3 and we didn't have to use it.
The room was a very good size, it was clean and there was a decent shower. The only complaint was that the window didn't shut properly in the bedroom so it was fine with the heating on but needed attention. Otherwise it was better than I expected for the rate/area.
Easily accessable, only 2mins walk from Hounslow Central on Piccadilly Line, handy for Heathrow.Clean and comfortable,Polite and friendly staff.
Very helpful staff, personal attention.
Friendly, very good location, very nice staff, really near underground station. I do recomend this place
very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast fish was not fresh at dinner
Good Location Noisy, limited choice of cereals
not as I was expecting from the photos
The full english breakfast was very bad,my friends breakfast had hairs in it,all cereals were of the cheapest brands, sausages particularly nasty, alex polizzi(hotel inspector) may have had a field day here
People were basically friendly. I left a pair of pierce on the bedside table, and a cleaner didn't see them and dropped one on the floor. I could not find the other one so I moved the bedside table and found some rubbish papers and balls of dust, which was quite unpleasant. Re the other one of the pair of the pierce which was missing I talked about it with the hotel personnels and the cleaner cheched the rubbish bag which one of the personnels had fetched from a big rubbish container outside the hotel. Fortunately she found the missing one from the rubbish bag, but it was covered with cigarette ashes. I received no apology for it, and the personnel, who seemed to be an ower, said only "conguratulations." The follwoing day a cleaner (I don't know if the cleaner was the same as the clear from the previous day) again dropped a visually substantial, hard to miss, cosmetic bottle on the floor from the same bedside table. They don't seem to learn from a mistake.
The breakfast was good! Other than the breakfast we did not like anything about this place.
Great value for money the shower room was cold
Absolutely very good.the staaf and the owner were very accomodating.A Friendly and most of all as if were family. Thanks!!
Very welcoming owner and staff. Went out of his way to take us to the station to catch our flight.
Comfortable set up with refreshments readily available at all times. Nice friendly staff. From 5am - the planes start to arrive at Heathrow - a couple of minutes away......very loud.
We were thrilled with the value for money, especially with the 24 hour access to beverages / breakfast. The rooms were cozy and the beds were super comfortable! N/A
Very friendly and helpful staff...
Compared with the prices of hotels nearby it offered value for money for a bed for a night. The reception staff were very helpful. Short taxi ride to the airport. Not as conveniently located to rail or tubes as I would have liked
A nice room with ensuite and free tea/coffee etc 24 hours a day On the flight path for Heathrow so noisy planes started flying over from 5am
Nothing. Seriously could not think of a benefit if you paid me to do it. Not just dirty but absolutely FILTHY. I am a man, I have served in the army. I am not squeamish about some dirt but this was vile. I think there were not cockroaches because even they decided it was too much for them. The guys were so rude its indescribable. I lack the words. On top of it he just lay on a very thick Indian/Pakistani accent and pretended to speak less and less English as soon as we tried to complain whereas his accent and language level was fine at the start of the conversation. We booked a double ensuite and they tried to give us a twin with a shared bathroom. They "explained" it was the last room and we could take it or leave it (this is at 2am). We refused, got up and left and when all the hotels in the area were booked out because of the Munich airport shutting down we chose to drive 3 hours back to Nottingham directly instead of the sleep in London, walk around and travel in the morning as we had planned.
