We recently conducted some research to reveal the winning combination when it comes to Hong Kong travellers’ accommodation requirements.
The ideal accommodation type for Hong Kongers across all budgets, is hotels which have a rating of four or five stars, are located on the beachfront, and offer a swimming pool, air-conditioning and internet access.
We also found that hotels are the most popular type of accommodation, as the hotel category remains selected in 94% of holiday accommodation searches, versus the hostels category for instance, which is deselected in one quarter of all searches on average. The location is also very important with almost 40% of travellers choosing to be near the beachfront and 23% in family-friendly locations, rather than a romantic or business focused destination. Hong Kong travellers also prefer to stay in pet-free accommodation and are not particularly keen on renting a flat for their holidays.
The accommodation requirements we see here show a lot about what travellers from Hong Kong are looking for. It seems that you all just want to chill out and relax at a hotel located by the sea and get some sun.
