What to know about COVID-19 and car rental
As you consider current and future travel plans, stay up-to-date on travel restrictions and travel providers’ change and cancellation policies. Besides new filters and alerts on our site, here’s a list of partners that are currently offering flexible policies. New rental car policy updates include changes to age restrictions, as well as their change and cancellation policies.

Make changes to current reservations without incurring fees. For complete flexibility, choose “Pay at Counter” when making a reservation so you can cancel or modify your reservation at any time.

Free to change the time and/or the place for existing bookings. By giving at least 48 hours’ notice, bookings can be canceled for free in areas that are affected by travel restrictions.
Customers who have made a reservation affected by travel restrictions can cancel the reservation at any time or rebook for a later date, without charge.
Where the prepaid reservation was booked prior to 13 March 2020, you can change the rental to another date without charge, with the condition that you will rebook the rental within 12 months, and you then have a further 12 months to collect the vehicle – this offers you a total of 24 months flexibility to rent later. As always, there is no fee applicable on “Pay later” reservations that are cancelled prior to pick-up.
